Acts 8:1-13
How The World Changes

1. God is at work in all of life’s circumstances, v. 1-4

Three ways we see God at work…

a) God’s promise is being fulfilled, v. 1

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all  

 Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

              -Acts 1:8

b) God uses ordinary people, v. 1

c) God uses people with a past, v. 3

2. We have to get the Gospel into its native environment, v. 4-8

Two things to notice in this section…

a) people pay attention when they see and hear the Gospel, v. 6

b) the city responds with joy, v. 8

3. Keep it simple, v. 9-13

The Good News is focused on two things…

a) the Kingdom of God

b) the name of Jesus Christ 



Mental worship…

When you look around who do you see that could use some good news?
Do people around you most need to hear the Gospel or see the Gospel?
When is the last time you were surprised spiritually? 
Is your life more oriented around one tree or the entire forest?
