where Flavor gets its wings.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Your hosts, Nate Newton, Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly, and Shannon Gross.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Welcome to the show on this Friday. Even our captain
is not here, maybe we will do like the Cowboys
and replace him and look for a new captain.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
Your live.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
That's a live look at the Tostitos Championship Plaza outside
in front of the four Center, where it is currently
fifty five degrees to hide. Today is fifty nine. The
low is thirty four. Shannon is somewhere, probably double fisted
with a my tie and someone named my tie in
(01:07):
a nice little senorita in Mexico. But it's all good.
We still got things covered here. This is Nate, That
is Kurt in the back Keeper's live and local it's
Chris Bean. I am still Salt and Pepper Poppy. Together
we make Hanging with the Boys the sports talk equivalent
bre people, Yes, sir, when we speak. Our segment has
(01:28):
brought to you each and every Thursday now by Wingstop
where Flavor gets it. We all right, fellas we Happy
New Year, Happy New Year, Happy new, Happy new Year,
Happy new Ye, Chris, a little bit.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
We got snowed out last week.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
We got snowed out last week.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
That's the best call I made for you.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Listen. I enjoy coming to see you guys. Man, you
guys are my family.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
That's snowhead about here about eight thirty.
Speaker 7 (02:01):
By the time you guys got up here, you guys
wouldn't need a scumba bill.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Really, it was pretty thick up here, that's what she said.
Probably like another ttp and like thick, like cold oatmeal.
All right, man, your boy, we haven't had a chance
to talk about it.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
I was right.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
I get to sit in the seat and pat myself
on the back like Shannon always does. Make it about me.
I was right. You were wrong, big fella. What you
want you said?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
That?
Speaker 3 (02:31):
That that Patrick Patrick, That that's Michael from Pittsburgh. Was
on his way back for another season, another couple more
seasons for the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
He did make it back into the office. He did
Claire's exit interview. He just didn't know he was gonna
be exciting the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Uh, part ways, let go not bring back say farewell,
whatever terminology you want to use to Michael from Pittsburgh.
He is on a private jet too, or probably in
Chicago right now in viewing for that job. But that
doesn't stop the Cowboys. Three hundred and sixty five days
a year, the soap opera continues in Jerry Jones is
(03:11):
right back at it. We've already heard that the Cowboys
will interview Robert Salah. We recently heard as of last night,
the Cowboys will be interviewing Leslie Fraser, who was once
a head coach from two thy ten to twenty thirteen
in Minnesota. As of recently, he was he's brought on
(03:33):
as an associate for the Seattle Seahawks to their new
head coach. Kind of give that little bit that veteran leadership.
But there's two names that's floating out there, one that
you know well, one that we know well. Two names
that's floating out there. One has a formal interview, the
other one they just talking. They just having phone conversations.
(03:56):
They're conversing on the telephone more. The offensive coordinator of
the Philadelphia Eagles will interview with the Cowboys on Saturday.
He has to interview on Saturday. It will be via Friday, sorry, Friday,
it will be via zoom or whatever whatever they use nowadays,
(04:17):
zoom call the interview. Can't ask no longer than three hours.
He has three hours to sell himself to the Cowboys.
I can tell you, I can tell you. I can
tell you this. Tell him. Moore has been calling and
reaching out for people to join his staff. Now that's
(04:38):
not saying that he's getting the job. That's just saying
when I present to the owner about my plans here,
I would have a potential staff that I would like
to bring. And then the other name who brings his
own entourage wherever he goes, his own staff wherever he goes,
is one Dion prime Time Sanders.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
Have we talked to d Nate yah be on his staff?
Speaker 3 (05:01):
No to Dallas Cowboys head.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Coach, No, no, no, no, you didn't get what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
To be on whose staff?
Speaker 8 (05:07):
Me?
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Oh, coach, I said, I said, did he call you?
Speaker 6 (05:10):
I said, Nate to be because he said he's been
calling around like other people have been calling around and beyond.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
You know, I would if the coach you no, over
there every day. I will be over there every day. Yes, sir,
I will be over there.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Let me ask you this, okay, because I'm all about
the show, the number one show on the Dallas Cowboys,
absolutely would could we at least get one segment week
the head coach come over boys.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
I think that I will go over there and clip
get a clip every week?
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Okay, we'll get that.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Keller More is the coach, which he will be the
coach I'm gonna get a clip from.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
So let's talk about it. Let's talk about the potential candidates,
and let's let's say this and let's get it out
the way. I believe Leslie Fraser is not a realistic candidate.
It's unfortunate that we have to kind of go through
and make a mockery of the Rooney rule. So it
(06:12):
feels Leslie Fraser to me, feels very Rooney ruleish. Now,
the rule is that each team has to interview two
minority candidates. So if you interview Robert Sala, who is
a minority Lebanese, and you interview Leslie Fraser, African American,
(06:34):
you have met the qualifications of the Rooney rule. So
can we just take no disrespect to Leslie Fraser. Let's
take him and put him out of the equation and
let's talk about I do think Robert Sala is a
serious head coaching candidate. How do you guys feel, how
do you feel about Robert sala potentially being the next.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Head coach of the Dallas How boys, I'm playing as
y'all playing Jesse Well.
Speaker 9 (07:10):
I mean, you could say he hasn't had a lot
of success as a head coach, but thing ends with
the Jets and they didn't have a lot to work with.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
So I don't think he got a fair shot in
New York right now. You brought in Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
First.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
First they give me, they give you Zach. They gave
you Zach Wilson. I mean, do what you want with that.
Then they bring in Aaron Rodgers, who undermined everything that
you wanted to do and how you did it the
coach killer and you were up out of there because
that's how they That's how they rolled in New York.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
That's how.
Speaker 9 (07:40):
I don't know a ton about him. Does he kind
of just from looking from a distance, does he kind
of have a little bit of that Dan Campbell energy
and culture driven?
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Yes, yes, energy. I don't know about the energy, but
definitely has that. You I'm going to be a leader
of men, there will be a level of discipline, There
will be you know what I'm saying, like it almost
feels like and I do think a coach needs to
have this, that there will be that that that all important.
Striking a fear in a player. It's not like I'm
(08:17):
scared of you, but it's it's that fear of he
might cut me, he might he might send me home,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 9 (08:23):
So would you see him as more of a building
the culture or kind of an exis and I was.
Speaker 10 (08:30):
Game managed, you know better with that.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Again both you know the thing that you have to
respect about most of these coaches, if they could get
a second chance, they are better. Even if they don't
have that quality quarterback, they are better because they know
they've seen it, they've digested it, and they are better.
Speaker 9 (08:53):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Coach Salah was doing a nice job. But my man,
who I loved the death to this year, coach Killer
messed him brown, He messed him around and so but
fortunate for him, it didn't shake his confidence because he
you know, real men, they you make him push him back,
but they you know so, but for me, you need
(09:17):
the coach, so I'll come goes kill him. You just
think he's he if kell them come on that thing,
you know, and I'm jumping ahead just if he come
on that and say close to what mister Jones won't
y'all can forget it all. I'm just being honest.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
For for Robert Saler, I do strike him as a
man that is a culture changer. Okay, the access in
those part which he is the defense side of the ball.
Check the records wherever he's been. He's at the top
five with the New Yorks yep, so.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
You don't really being released. He was in the top
five being released.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
After when they were so when they were when he
got fired from New York, they were in the top five. Yes,
the next couple of weeks they just went from being
in the top five defense they fired him.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
It went downhill.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
You know what he was when he was with the Niners,
which by the way, the Niners had already kind of said, hey,
you can always come back home. We got dc job
for you. And he's also interviewing with Jacksonville for their
head coaching position. So do I think the culture part. Yes, right,
Do I think the x's and o's part, yes.
Speaker 9 (10:38):
Well, let me ask you, this is excess and those part.
Like I have some currncern about hiring a defensive minded
head coach. I'm with you because I think that the
I mean, it's an offensive game, and then you're you know,
you get a good, hot, young coordinator offensive coordinator, and
then he's gone. Then you're starting over again with the
new guy. And so there's kind of this I'm just wondering,
(10:59):
is that if you need an offensive guy to come
in and set here's what we're doing. Maybe not necessarily
called plays, but yeah, here's what we're doing.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
I agree with you. I am on the fence of
get an offensive guy like that's just this is a
quarterback league, this is the offensive league. A lot of
your money and resources are on the offensive side and
will continue to be on the offensive side. I just
think that's where you have to go when you get
a really good defense, but you start with being able
to actually score some points, and then you figure out
(11:29):
ways to keep them from scoring more points one more
point than you do. Which is why when I look
at a guy like Robert Salah, he he also comes
from that Shanahan tree. So now could he reach back
into that Shanahan cabinet and pull one of those Shanahan
(11:49):
guys and say, hey, you were a guy who was
when I was there, was the quality control guy, and
then you were a position coach guy. Now you are
an offensive an assistant type guy. I'm going to give
you your ot to come here and be in oc right,
I'm gonna I'm gonna bring you here and let you
be the new Liam Cohen and let you be the
new Ben Johnson'll let you be the new Joe Brady
on this staff. I got I got the head coaching
(12:11):
and the culture, and I got the defense. But you
need to bring the things that you learned when we
were at the forty nine ers and bring that thing also,
who is the who is the big brother that we
just cannot beat San Francisco. If anybody knows the ins
and out of what that's that's what we need to have.
(12:34):
That guy on the show you said, yeah, we need
to be that grab that guy. Will mc clay just
walked by. If if if anybody knows the ins and
outs and the integral things that go on in the
Shanahan offense. And maybe the ways to kind of stop
it or slow it down. You would think would be
the guy who would defensive coordinator there, yeah, no, yes,
(12:56):
you know.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Oh you say, yeah, it's been great. Yes, I know
this has been rad on point, it's been read on point.
I'll finish for you, all.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Right, So let us take our first break of the show.
When we come back, we'll talk about the other candidates,
one that we are all familiar with and one that
Nate is more closer to than we actually are. Coming
up next on Hanging with the Boys. Stay with us,
we'd be right back.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Thank you, Coach Sala.

Back hanging with the Bulls. Welcome back to Hanging with
the boys on this off season Thursday edition. Our captain
is somewhere two shades in the wind with a cigarita. Mexico.
Ain't telling what he's doing right now. We don't know
how that beard is getting wet, but it's eating wet.
We just know that ones ain't shape or form. This
statement is prought to you by blockchain. Blockchain, Come and
(15:59):
Jigsaw out the partner.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Of the no he releases, unblocking, he unblocking, he unblocking.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
He'll come, he'll come back. He'd be light. He'll be
light when he returned. He went with luggage. He'll be
light when he come back.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
You'll be a backpack release.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Uh So, as we continue this coaching carousel conversation. We
already talked about Rossey Fraser. Thank you, my brother. We
appreciate you coming out, but God bless you good night.
You're not a part of the equation. Robert Salah. I
laid out all the things that I feel about Robert.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Salah ain't great. You did a great job.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Thank you, But we have to discuss and talk about
your boy, the the the loquacious one, the very very
confident one, the man who once said that they would
have to put me on layaway a team, certain team
had a had drafted him. One coach prime Dion Sanders.
(17:05):
There has been reports that he and Jerry Jones have
been in conversation. Now some may say this is a man,
this is marketing one on one. It's a masterclass in
marketing between these two. Diana is currently in contract negotiation
with the University of Colorado. You try to get some
more money there. Of course, mister Jones Winna keeps his
name in the headlines as much as he possibly can
in this office that he's not participating in the playoffs,
(17:28):
how much validity and seriousness. I'm gonna start with you, Nate,
because you're the only one in this room who actually
has his number, who actually can call him and he
will answer, who can actually say hey, I'll be there
in ten minutes, and he go, okay, big fella, I'll
be here when you get here.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
I called him last what's today, Thursday? I called him
last Monday, well, last Friday. He said, hey, Brian, when
you're in town, you ain't can he said, I'll be
their Sunday. Then he left, came back Monday. He left,
So I got to him yesterday and I didn't. And
(18:10):
I'm just gonna tell you the conversation. And we talking
because we do our little like a mile and a
half walk, that's how we do it. I get over there,
we just start walking, you know, on this property, so
you know, on the way out, you know, I'm like, boy,
good to see you, man. And the first thing is
that I'm talking about was Colorado, how he's trying to
(18:31):
work it there and get it going. And he just
stayed on that topic for two hours. Colorado or how
he want to set things up, how he opened that
the new as they directed. I'm saying, in my mind,
never got a chance, man. Yeah, So either him and
mister Jones are doing your marketing one on one. Oh
(18:54):
he said, hey man, this hain't to be discussed and
I don't care who is Dean and I to close
his mouth. So way he's coming back again, So I'm
gonna try to get to him again next week.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
And that's that's not unusual for Dion, right like he
has he still lives here, has a home here, has
property here, so like that's not unusual for him to come.
Of course we saw Shador, his son was at the
Maverick game the other night, so it's it's it's Dion
being in the df W outcoach of df W is
not an unusual thing because he still owns quite a
(19:29):
bit of land here in the metroplexic.
Speaker 9 (19:32):
I just I don't see how that works. So I
mean one Jerry ever gonna pay him with Dion once
and then you two have such strong personalities fighting for
the spotlight.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
I just don't see how they They wouldn't fight for
the spotlight.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
It would be it would be de Deon with the
problem is the head coach of Dallas gonna would be
will be the most He would be the most famous
coach in the world, not be a more famous coach
in the world. Then Dion Sanders as the head coach
of the Dallas Cowboys the world, Craig, not not, not,
(20:09):
not the whole world, Craig on Friday, to top the world. Craig,
you call it, my boy, My boy here, you understand.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
He understands. I tell you here. That's pretty good. It's
just Dion has said it more than once and more
than in many ways. He can control what's happening. You
you gotta stand man, you you you you you can
(20:41):
challenge number eleven. If number eleven ain't fit feeling you,
it ain't working, It ain't like you finish going the
portal and replace number eleven. Because he's one offul kind.
So you got to take his his garbage. Prime understands
being a prima donna, being a top flight player, being
a being a suit from star. He understands all of that.
(21:02):
But it's certain guys he ain't gonna want on the
squad once he beat that game. And see it ain't real.
He ain't gonna want them. And you have a saycap
and if this guy is above your five million dollars,
now you can go see later in night. You don't
make five.
Speaker 10 (21:22):
He can't just pull a scholarship.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
So they make ten. Well, I better check with mister. No,
he don't want to check with him, I think, he
said at Colorado, I think, but I'm I'm gonna keep
chipping at him man because of Colorado.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
And I don't want to use this term in a
negative way. But at Jackson State at Colorado, as a dictator, right,
he gets to call right all the shots right, like
from from everything.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
And mister Jones is a dictator.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
My second point, I'm like, you're you're, you're good. The
face off will now be two dictators, two people who
in their their whole life, Dion has always called the shots.
When he became prime time, even before that, he was
calling the shots. Jerry calls the shots. And so now
you put those two together, that could be one today.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
It's gonna be ugly.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
That can be very combustible.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I'm gonna tell you, and Dion start from all the
way from high school. I remember he told him his story.
You know, I know it's kind of off kilter, but
just to stay in line of calling the shots. It
was him and two other top flight cornerbacks at Florida
State and he was a freshman, and the coach said man,
I'm not. I can't. I can't choose right now. I
(22:42):
really can't, fellas, And he said, I want you all
to rotate, you know, quarter here a series. I don't
care how y'all do it. Don't make me get involved,
but y'all get together and make it work. So Dion
side thinking went one or two games and then Dion
told them say, hey, man, y'all too now gonna switch
in and out my quarterback. So I was like, you
(23:04):
did that price that freshman? I did that? He said,
I want sharing nothing. I was the better corner. Well
and he ain't never looked back from there.
Speaker 10 (23:11):
Well how is it?
Speaker 9 (23:12):
I don't follow Colorado football at all, but how is
he as a coach?
Speaker 10 (23:16):
I mean I kind of wonder.
Speaker 9 (23:17):
I mean, he's had two of the best players of
the nation the last three or four years. I mean
they're going away now, So I mean, is he a
guy that can actually he.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Has because one of them. And see, you know, I
speak openly to the Prime and I try to say
things that I can bring back to the show. And
I said, Prime, let me tell you, so these kids
that you got, now, these ain't your son and this
ain't Travis. I say, so, you gotta have a run
game this year. He's a hold on, big fellow, hold
(23:48):
on now, I said, okay. He said, well, I'm not
gonna start my young guy, that top five quarterback. I'm
not He's not starting just yet. He said, I'm gonna
let my other, the guy that's Julian Juju. Yeah, I'm
gonna let my veteran guy get this first run. And
I'm gonna protect both of them by the run game.
(24:08):
So I've been talking to my office line every time
I see him. Hey, fellas, be running the ball coming
out of gates. Our whole spring training gonna be to
day one today to day thirty one. You know, they
don't get it so many days.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
To add to your point, Colorado just hired uh former
he was he was at LSU. They brought him to
Colorado to be the assistant running back coach. So that
that that lines up with what.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah he was saying, yeah he wants yeah. Yeah. The
thing about Prime he can see football and he know football. See,
I've heard a lot of people say he's not as
a coach, he's not too smart. And I started laughing,
(24:53):
because you have you have never sat down and just hey,
what are you see when you see this talkboard type stuff. Yeah, yeah,
you get him on the board. It is amazing. You
know you you asked him to break down on offense.
It is amazing. I heard him talk to a kid
one time and just something simple, say, son, the guy
(25:16):
was on the numbers. All he could run is this.
The guy was inside the numbers. All he can run
is this. And he's trying to coach the kid during
the game, but the kid was so panicked that he
couldn't catch it. But after the game, the kid came up,
I understand, now, coach, he said, yeah, but the game. Oh,
but a lot of people don't understand. He never stops coaching,
(25:38):
even with offensive line and say hey, big fellow, you
go get your hand. He like you, j just get
your hands inside before you got to shove your feet.
You stop your feet from this. This man know how
to coach, and he understands the college game. It's a
different animal. Yeah, so I'm I'm nervous if he was
tooever not here, but get a chance anywhere. This game
(25:58):
is different up here. Now you know, boy, that would
make for some great content. We already a number one show,
but boy, that that's the clip Broy.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Those press conferences, his post game pregame, he'd do his
radio show. He's gonna rename the radio show. It is
prime time a video team, Yeah, bucket an if for
nothing else, And I agree with you, both of you.
I don't think Dion Sanders is a good fit for
the Dallas Cowboys head coach. But boy, for mortgage purposes,
(26:33):
for me to keep the mortgage paid every month, the
content that would roll from the office and desk of
Dion Sanders, we would all be good. I would be good.
I'll have I have ten shows, I have thirteen shows.
I'll be doing it every week with all the content
that would come from there. But the one coach that
(26:55):
will be interviewed in a couple of tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Look, can we get some music for this guy he's
been introduced? Is it any music? That? Is it? Any
music we can play back? Then, Chris, that's legal for
this next guy. We all know who this next guy is.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
The next guy who the Cowboys will be interviewing this
Friday is someone who's very familiar with this. This building.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Mh.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
There you go with this building, with this uh, with
this ownership, Yes, sir, with this quarterback right one Kellen Moore.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Who I couldn't pronounce his name until he lem Yeah,
and he will go back to Kellen he called. He
will be if he comes back.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Yeah, he interviews on Friday.
Speaker 9 (27:44):
Jerry likes the familiar. Yeah, he looked about you know,
he brought Jimmy, his college buddy. Then he brought Barry,
his coach, and he went through Gaily, but then he
brought in Camp and we've been here forever.
Speaker 10 (27:54):
Yeah, fuck with Garrett for a long time. And he
likes familiar.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Those are the things we're talking about, checking the boxes, right,
Like he wants that familiarity. I want someone that I'm
comfortable with, that's.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
Close to the Spanish word right family.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Yeah, he wants that person that is not necessarily going
to push back true in and only what he wants.
And that's why I don't know. You tell me what
you guys feel, man, but I just feel like this
is going to be the guy that Jerry Jones brings
back as the head coach.
Speaker 9 (28:28):
He's got to be the front runner, I would think. Yeah,
I mean, and maybe this is a guy that I
guess we don't know a lot about. Like you said,
he's it doesn't seem like a guy that's going to
push back. Maybe he's a guy that doesn't enjoy the
spotlight some other guys would. So it might be a
perfect fit for Jerry because he gets to have the
spotlight on himself. A Kellen just kind of goes about
(28:48):
his business.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
I just I don't know, But Chris, how much can
we say for him being the coach? And we just
it's our speculation that we can we can't be strong and.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
Well the Cowboys and requested the requested question.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
So when he becomes the head coach, hold.
Speaker 3 (29:07):

Cowboys fans, swing by your local seven eleven and grab
your favorite items from the roller grill. Then enjoy a
big goat big golf son. Yeah, just eighty nine cent
valid that participate in stores fill up on a pump
eight Not really, but that's why I feel about on
(32:22):
pump and get ready for game day every time I
go by seven eleven. I was, I was. I was
walking I was walking a dog the other day and
there were some people doing no construction and man, a
dude had slid down in his front dashboard like you
(32:42):
could tell he was. He had two seven eleven two
seven eleven pizzas and like a little one of those
little food boats on the toketos. Just it was just
I'm like, either either he coming back to that or
you know what I'm saying, Like he just knew, Like
I'm gonna keep it right here in the front, keeping
a warm one on the dad. And he was like,
as soon as I get finished doing what I'm doing
(33:02):
right here, I'm gonna get back to this seven eleven
pizza and taketo. So when I get through what I'm
getting through, maybe I'll go by it and see what
them Keto's talking about. You're fast, It's well man, you know,
just to speak briefly on that, I I have been
It's been great. It's been really really, really really good.
But I just I've been led. You know. The Lord
(33:25):
has just been leading me. The Holy Spirit's been talking
to me, and I'm gonna do the whole month. I'm
gonna do the entire month just water and juice. Wow,
what's today's date. I'm I'm sixteen days already in and
just water and juice.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
So, I just been feeling like I'm expecting and and
and hoping for it. Now you're good. It smelled good, though,
it smelled good. I got a whiff of it. I
gotta with chicken. Tender chicken tend to do smell good.
It smelled like it's crispy and everything. I was hoping
you had some fried I was gonna get a whiff
of ood fried, but the fries will last log around
you and the time the fries are.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
The line on the training table was a little shorter
at at the drink bar, isn't it for you?
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Jesse? Yes? Yes, absolutely absolutely, all right, let's get talking
about the one. The only Kellen Moore who Nate thinks
is uh. He's like man Mike, Mike and Bucky Marbles
start getting the name place started already engraved because he
(34:28):
on the way. What are your thoughts about Kellen Moore?
Speaker 2 (34:31):
They when? When when coach left here? Coach Moore left here?
Did Jerry give a big speech? Did he say anything?
As I remember, he didn't say a word. Mike, Coach
McCarthy did all the talk. He was he was the
one that fired him. Yeah, you didn't hear anything, will
(34:52):
You didn't hear from mister Stephen Jones. You didn't hear
nothing from miss miss Charlotte Jones. You didn't hear nothing
from Jones family. Okay, bye, you want to go, Mike,
you want to fire, have at it. They didn't say
a word. That's what gives me. As much as he
liked it, this guy let it every let everybody know
(35:13):
how he felt about mister Moore and for him not
to say a word. All right, Mike, but the door,
you know, but behind the closed doors, missus Jones like,
that's my guy, and Calumber keeper eye on him here.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
And continue on his coaching. He ended up Chargers under
coach Staley, and then once the Chargers UH decided to go,
had to part ways with Staley. He ended up in
where he's at now, Yes, in Philadelphia. And and so
I don't know if it's going to be a full
circle where he works his way back around to the
(35:49):
cowboy of the head coach. But but Kurt.
Speaker 10 (35:52):
Let me ask you this.
Speaker 9 (35:53):
Like we talked earlier about culture and being able to
lead that guy versus maybe an X and Ose type guy,
this is this seems the exact opposite Kellen maybe that
exit of those guys. But is he gonna be a
guy that can get up in front of the room
and rally the troops.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
You need strong, very very strong assistance and even stronger coordinators.
The key thing is, if I'm mister Jones, I'm looking
at who are your quite? I know you're gonna call
offensive plays, but who is gonna feel your offensive coordinator
spot and who gonna feel your That's the way coach
Salo will be perfect. Yeah, he's the leader of men
(36:31):
that will be perfect. So now he can truly get
his mind on the offense. That's why I'm saying this
is the perfect setup for mister Moore. This is the
perfect if we can get mister Saalah in here or
somebody of that ilk boom and then he gets on
the offense and it gives Jesse what he wants because
(36:53):
they gonna be moving and grooving and swinging and everything
else you.
Speaker 9 (36:57):
Want kind of a hard nosed defensive coordinator to kind of.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Yeah, that is my deal. Somebody has to be able
to control the narrative and somebody's got to be physical,
and I think coach Salah will trying to bring that
physicalness that we've been lacking because we've had decent athletes,
some top chair athletes, but they never had that extra
(37:22):
that extra dog in them. And that's what coach solid
can bring and solifying that defense. Now we got a
few offensive linemen that's nasty and me, but will they
elevate their level of play? Meaning Hoffming, we know the
left guard can, but now you know Haffing and you
a known dog. Now you you you're lifting your leg
on a few folks.
Speaker 8 (37:42):
You got.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Now we're gonna see what you can do. For sixteen,
you know what I'm saying for seventeen for sure. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
See. My only pushback to this to that is this,
when it comes to the culture, the leader of men,
and does Kellen Moore fit that, like if we're just
going off a peer's no, yeah, like no, nothing about
him says I can stand in front of a loop,
in front of a room and command the room when
(38:10):
I walk into it, you know what I mean. It's
almost like he's kind.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Of the Miami Dolphins head coach.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Well, you see the problem they got down there. I know,
Tyreek Hill quitting the middle of a gay.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
But I'm just saying, right, that's what they thought about him.
But he afford the injury happened to the quarterback the
second time. They were rolling pretty strong.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
The thing is, but see, here's why I think those
two different like his like talking about you're talking about
Mike McDaniels. Mike McDaniels, I think he may look unassuming,
but when you hear him talk, he's not, you know
what I mean like the whole time that we've we've
(38:54):
been around Kellen, we've heard Kellen talk, we've heard Kellen speaking,
and that it never gave leadership. It never gave that
feeling to it. And when you're talking about bringing a
guy like Robert Salah who is a dominant figure, now
I start having here's whe the division starts. Because everything
and we know this, no matter who's the head coach,
O C or d C whatever, when when we're winning,
(39:17):
everything's good, it's it's it's komba, y'all. It's it's hey,
let's all come together. Everybody's on one accord. We got
we got the mantras going on, right, we got we
got our shirts on and everybody's marching to the same root.
It right, we rooted, we we we come on, say
it whatever, whatever, whatever the say was a year or
(39:38):
so ago. But when you're losing carpe omni, that's what
it was.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
For that all.
Speaker 5 (39:53):
Yeah, I said that window should know all that.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Oh there's Clarence Hill, beat writer for d l us
All City. We may or may not share office together,
who knows, but you never know. But my thing about
but that is is that when things, if things go bad,
am I saying I'm over here with I'm over here
(40:16):
with Salah because his personality, his attitude intends me to
lean that way. And now when Kellen tried to say something,
I'm like to hear that from you, bro, like like
you weak sauce, you ain't really you ain't.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
You need to stop that, man, because what you're doing
now is the divide in the room that ain't been
drawn together. You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
I've been a divided.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Ru I know you have, But don't do this to
coach More. He hasn't even showed up.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
You know how that thing was when at one side?
Right when?
Speaker 11 (40:55):
When?
Speaker 3 (40:55):
When? When when Jimmy departed and y'all had to deal
with Barruswood too, there was a there was a division.
It was there was some folks that was team Switzer.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
And that was yeah, team Troy, team Switzer. That was
a divide.
Speaker 9 (41:10):
You know, was there a divide because Garrett kind of
kind of nerdy look to him, sort of, I mean,
is he was?
Speaker 2 (41:16):
He a good leader, storyteller, He gets storytelle with the
best of Yeah, he was a good storyteller.
Speaker 3 (41:22):
I wouldn't I wouldn't kind of like it's a great leader.
I wouldn't as a great leader.
Speaker 10 (41:28):
Would you.
Speaker 9 (41:28):
I mean, there's a lot of guys here that were
here when Kellen yes here. You know, would you take that?
I mean, is that helping has hurt them? Should they
ask some of those guys what's going on? You know
how they feel?
Speaker 3 (41:40):
I mean Kellen had a When I was just looking
at numbers wise, when Kellen was here, Dak had really
really really good numbers. But again, Dak and Kellen to
me feel more like buddies. Then yeah, for you to
do it, I need you know what I'm saying. Like,
it's more like, Hey, I'm gonna ask you to do
something post to me.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
I'm telling you this man play right when the game
gets tight.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
So I don't know. I have the feeling, like you
all that Keller will be the next head coach. I
do have that feeling. It just it fits everything that
we I feel like Jerry wants.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
But why are you dividing the room.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
I'm just giving you what I think. Man, you divide
giving you what if you add? If you Chris, what
do you think?
Speaker 5 (42:31):
Clarence?
Speaker 3 (42:33):
There is a.
Speaker 10 (42:35):
How do you think fans would react?
Speaker 2 (42:37):
It's more brought back about as worse as they would
if there.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Probably I don't.
Speaker 6 (42:44):
Think I deal with Kellen is who's on his staff?
That's it, man like, like, who's the defense coordinator.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
I'm saying. If I'm saying, if it's Robert Slid Like.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
We gotta all admit that. If he's not giving you
the look that you want, the Brasona that you want,
you gotta go get a solo you Well, do you.
Speaker 6 (43:04):
Think he brings in Brandon Staley potentially because that was
his head coach, right right?
Speaker 3 (43:10):
Threw the bone out there, your bone, Yeah, exactly, you
go again, right, same cycles.
Speaker 5 (43:14):
And that's the best of all worlds for you, Jesse.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
That's Michacarthy.
Speaker 5 (43:19):
Staley was with.
Speaker 6 (43:20):
Vic Fangio, he was with McVeigh, he was with San Francisco.
Speaker 5 (43:24):
He's got all the places you love.
Speaker 3 (43:26):
Yeah, I do all those places, those good places to love. Hey,
Like Jerry said in that uh in that Netflix special
Dallas Cowboys three hundred and sixty five, three hundred and
sixty five days a year soap opera, and that's why
we have the number one show. You get a chance
to come and talk about.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
It, all right, I'll do it for so hell no,
I want you to rank the coaches as we spoke on,
in the order that you think they will.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
No disrespect Leslie Fraser, you don't have a chance. Then
it's then it's Robert Salah, then it's Dion and then
it's Kellor.
Speaker 2 (44:06):
How about you big before I.
Speaker 9 (44:07):
Don't think deandrealistic, so ahead of him, but more top.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
Yes, sir, No, it's not No, it's not yesterday. No,
what's wrong Jess trying to ask what you need me
to give me your rankings?
Speaker 2 (44:22):
It ain't no rankings. It ain't no rankings. The kid
in Philadelphia that used to be named.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
Kellum before I got I got to wish your happy birthday.
Speaker 10 (44:33):
Rev.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
Turner, Happy birthday when it's happy. Yeah, this is Myra.
Happy happy birthday. Happy, happy birthday. You got you gotta
you got. Even though you are Steelers fan, I love you.
I still love you. Happy birthday. God bless you have
(44:56):
a great day. All right, man, until next week, see
you guys, Maybe we have Maybe we'll have ahead by
next sir, he won't. We'll be here to talk about it.
Remember this every Thursday, one ps at a time. Don't
miss hanging with the boys.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
