Speaker 10 (03:18):
Good?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Good? Yeah? Good?

Speaker 9 (03:20):
I'm great man.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
We know somebody somebody good? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
So I ain't doing good, have no explanation or nothing,
just last minute, not gonna be there. It's either diary
is getting fired one of the others. Only two things
that hit you out of nowhere.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
What do you think it is?

Speaker 9 (03:38):
Fire?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, we hope you have.

Speaker 9 (03:44):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Oh well, this game is shaping up to be a
little more interesting than it was at the beginning of
the year. Carolina is actually playing some some decent football.
Their their quarterback is seems like you start to maybe
figure it out.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
They got a pretty good running back.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Is they're running back the biggest threat on And by
the way, we'll tease this. We were talking about this
before the show and Jesse was like, I'll tell you
in the break.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
I was like, no, tell us on the air because.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
We want to know the rumors are actually I guess
it's facts now because he said it was true. Bill
Belichick is talking to the University of North Carolina about
a position with the football program.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Yeah, I mean not just up position, the position.

Speaker 6 (04:29):
And Jesse is uh has some opinions, So we'll get
those people.

Speaker 8 (04:32):
I want to say this right here and keep it
with the Belichick way of doing things. Coach Belichick, we
hear you're talking to North Carolina.

Speaker 9 (04:42):
How is that going.

Speaker 8 (04:43):
Well, we'll see, we'll see you North Carolina.

Speaker 9 (04:47):
We don't need to.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
And see. That's the part. That's the part right there, that.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
You can't be that way you're dealing with the college
program because there's so many moving par arts.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
You got. You don't have just a football office. You
have the academic department.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
You have uh, you know, the the Booster club. I mean,
you have so many parents, the parents, the agents. Now,
you have so many moving parts when it comes to
a collegiate program that you just can't say, shun the
outside world and it's just us on the inside. Because

(05:26):
you know, you know, one of my good friends, she's
the she's the assistant athletic director and she's over academics.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Cricket lanes out the cricket. Uh, you gotta communicate with cricket.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
You gotta you gotta know who's in line to graduate,
whose grades aren't right, all the other kind of stuff,
and and it it takes me back to a time
when and he was a coach here too, on the
Jimmy Johnson Butch Davis. Yes, sir, when when Butch came
over and took over as a head coach. Butch wanted

(05:57):
to run it like an NFL organization, and he kept
every Now Butch was doing some funny money stuff behind
the scene. This is before nil stuff. Yeah, and he
shunned everybody. Everybody was on the outside, the periphery. No
one could get into that building. I remember I came
back one time and as a four year starter, I

(06:19):
tried to go to see a practice. They stopped me
at the gate and said, you can't come in. I
looked around as if someone else was behind me that
they were talking to, and it was one of the guys,
Like it was one of the guys that like Corey Holliday.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
I'm like, I'm like Holiday, it's me, Like it's Jesse.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
He goes, bro.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
I know, I'm sorry, but if you don't call ahead
and you don't get on the list that coach approves,
the list of folks that can come to practice, Wow,
I'm like holiday, it's me. He like, yes, I know,
he goes as bad as I want to just say,
give you a hug and tell you come on in.
Can't and that a lot of people wrong because I'm like,

(07:03):
I ain't know as a regular fan, a person the
students walked in there, I'm blood sweating tears four years
for you guys.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
So Bill's gonna have to He's gonna have.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
To really really really change his way of thinking and
just and just when he says like this is gonna
be a pipeline to the NFL, well, that's what all
colleges are right now. That's all the major ones Texas, Alabama, Georgia.
Like so like him saying that, is it nothing new?
They're all trying to get to the NFL. They're all
trying to do that. So I don't know, it's it's

(07:35):
gonna be different. It's gonna be different. You know, you
got rid of Mac Brown, who is seventy three. Only
the higher guy who's seventy two. There has to be
some relatability with the with the coach and these younger players.

Speaker 6 (07:48):
Were you shocked when you heard the rumors? And then
were you even.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
More shocked when you realized they were true because you
know Bill and you're probably part of that program.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
I was shocked.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Because I didn't think he wanted like college, you want
to go in to college?

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Now, that's harder work than the NFL ten times. It's
all year seven.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
Yeah, it's all year and now you have to chase
around sixty seventy eighty teenagers early twenty years.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
He's already doing that.

Speaker 10 (08:14):
Well.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
But that was good.

Speaker 9 (08:16):
That's a good right there there. I don't care.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, that was good.

Speaker 7 (08:22):
That was That was Here's the thing is like if
you listen to Dion, like he says that, like on
Friday he goes to practice and after practice, like he
goes jumps on a plane or helicopter or whatever and
goes to recruits on Friday night and then flies back
the same night.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
First game the next day. It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
I'm sorry, but if Dion flies to my house, I'm
going to Colorado.

Speaker 9 (08:43):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
All the college coaches do that. D may go see
a game.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
But Dion, don't go to houses. He'll send his assistants.
You have to come into Colorado. He'll go watch you play.
And Colorado is this man Nick and all of the guys.
Once you become that iconic coach.

Speaker 8 (09:02):
Uh, that's that's what that's what happened out What coach
Belichick would have to do, coach, what Prime would do
in a heartbeat when they're able to is he will
FaceTime if coach, if coach don't mind FaceTime, and he
gonna be perfect. Because you got the sister to the assistant.
Like you said, going to the house, then you got
if your sister got a big enough name, he will

(09:25):
come this you at your school. If your sister got
that like say Sap, hey man Sap coming to the school.

Speaker 9 (09:30):
Well, in some.

Speaker 8 (09:32):
Areas that could be equal to Prime. Then when you
come in. Because I was just talking to Prime about
thirty minutes ago, you know, hey, how many guys you Yeah,
how many guys you got coming out of pros? So
he ain't seven or eight guys, and he felt that
should get a legit shot at the Pros. And then
I said, well that's part of the recruiting. He said Yeah,
that's part of selling and recruiting. So everybody's selling a

(09:54):
coach Belichick, he said, But if you're not willing, because
I've seen Prime and Hi being a heated co conversation,
cracking jokes. Hold on, I gotta get this, and he
turned into coach coach Prime, what's up?

Speaker 9 (10:05):
How man help you?

Speaker 8 (10:06):
Hey, wide receiver says say, hey man, and then he'll
throw some stats at them.

Speaker 9 (10:09):
Yeah, I've been watching you.

Speaker 8 (10:11):
So if coach Belichick is willing to get on that
FaceTime and spend some time with these kids, and especially
because the recruiting process, not only are you recruiting these
new kids, these are high school kids and kids from
other colleges that want to come into that portal, you
are recruit still recruiting your own kids once they come

(10:31):
into the door. The recruiting just started. Well Rime, Yeah,
Prime does this. His players hit him all the time. Coach, Hey,
you want to holler at you?

Speaker 6 (10:41):
All right? Man?

Speaker 9 (10:41):
God, how you doing well? Is it a problem?

Speaker 8 (10:43):
Now?

Speaker 9 (10:43):
I just want to you. It's like you say, it
is a different world.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
And if you're like again when you're a pro, yes,
it's it's fifty three to sixty of us, and everybody
ain't coming to talk to Bill.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
That's right, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
Like you, if you got the issue you ain't really
you might come talk to your position coach. You might
get a conversation with the with the OC and God forbid,
Please Lord, if you if you hear my prayers, do
not send Josh McDaniels down there to Carolina.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Please please please, No, he's a terrible human being.

Speaker 9 (11:21):
Please must be.

Speaker 11 (11:24):
Ain't right for jaredy words him or Edelman, because there's
only two people I ever heard you say they're terrible people.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Their Yeah, I'm telling you that just like that's what
is it?

Speaker 6 (11:39):
A private thing?

Speaker 9 (11:40):
Is something you can say? Why is it just private?

Speaker 5 (11:43):
You can't find anybody that says anything good about Josh
McDaniel as a coach, not one team. Like the way
he talks to people, the way he treats people. I'm
always the kind of guy is who are you when
when it's just you and I, when you treat when
you treat people who are quote unquote standing, you bad.
When you treat other men who you're supposed to be

(12:04):
trying to help bad, you're not a good person. And
that's where I got off on Julian Edelment right, Like
I've watched him do things where the little lady is
coming to clean up the locker room.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Whatever, or you know, pick something up and he shoot.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
He shoot a tape ball over at her garbage can
and miss it and don't even pick it up. Now
she left to pick it up. I'm like, what are
you doing?

Speaker 9 (12:25):
You know?

Speaker 5 (12:25):
It's stuff like that that you see when you go
out with people. You just see how they interact with
people like that. That's why I'm always like, you're not
You're not a nice human. I'll always give Julian Otherman credit.
Nobody works harder than him on the football field. Damn
good practice player, damn good football player. Trash humans hard.

Speaker 9 (12:43):
As shooting his little shots at the garbage can too.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
I mean, but like, listen, it's it's gonna be very
very interesting because everything that Bill Belichick is, it's like
the introvert, he's gonna have to.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Flick away he do that. Are they throwing a boatload
of money at him?

Speaker 6 (13:02):
Or is he what is it?

Speaker 5 (13:06):
Carolina is like, let's be honest, like Carolina is and
always will be a basketball school, right right, and so
now everyone's trying to find an avenue to compete. How
can we get players in to compete? And it was
the same thing with Mac Brown. We brought in a
good name, big name.

Speaker 9 (13:25):
Now.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
The one thing that Mac Brown could still do, he
could recruit. Like Mac understood how to recruit. He understood
how to you know, win your state. He understood.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
You know, I got ties in Texas, I got still
got you know what I'm saying. And that's the biggest thing.
It's who do I have the relationships with? Like Mack Brown,
for as long as he's been coaching, there's coaches in
you name a Texas school where he's taking players, you know,
time and time again, where he can go back to
that pond and get another player and then you establish

(13:57):
him all over the country. Bill's coming in there with
now his staff is going to have to be one
of those staffs where maybe there's a couple former head
coaches that have come along on his staff that can
help him out in those areas. But with college coaches,
with high school coaches, it's I ain't send them my
I ain't sending a player to you when I don't
have a relationship to you, I might send my best

(14:19):
guy to.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Let's say SMU, because with SMU also gonna do.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
They gonna come back when I tell him, Hey, I
got this kid right here, man, really good kid. Give
you know, give him a shot and they may throw
him a scholarship later on to come in there because
I gave you your five star quarterback two years ago,
you know, And that's how your relationships are built over times.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
It's gonna be very interesting, but I don't think it's
gonna it's gonna work.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
All right, Well, we burned up the first segment, so
I have a I have. This was Chris's idea. I
can't take credit for.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
It's a great credit though.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
We're gonna do something we've never done on this show.
We've done a version of this, but we've never done this.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Do a segment with our shirts off.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
That's wild, Absolutely not. It's actually maybe a better idea.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
It's all good, you know, it's fun as like, I
get more love and it's not about me, but it's
about me. I get more love in the Dean Dome
than I did at Keenan.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Keenan is the football, Like I get love when I go.

Speaker 6 (19:15):
You made it to the NFL and at the NBA.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Correct.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
I played two years of basketball before I decided to say,
you know.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
What, I'm gonna give it all to football.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
Really, yeah, I get more love at the Dean Dome
like I could go to the Dean.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
As they made you switch your number.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
No, no, it's it's sympathy. No, it's a small number
of players, you know.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
And I was a part of something that was historic,
So I think that, yeah, But I mean I was
a part of the class that got Carolina kind of
back on the map. My class, the recruiting class that
we were. It was my class that got us the
high keen Nicks of the world. That led to them
getting guys like t J. Yate, that led to getting
guys like Michael Jordan.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
No, no, no, no, I don't even play around. Put my
name in that cop you give you. No, No, I'm
just saying.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
I mean, you know, it's all those things that that
that led to Who was the quarterback that went to Chicago?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
That mister Bisky, you know, but I don't know.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
For whatever reason, I go down to the Dean Dome,
they get me whatever I want, when I want it,
whenever I asked for it.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Man, I feel the same when I go down to.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
Lunch Bucket and mister Jones upstairs.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
You're part of something historic. It ain't been right since
you left. It ain't big right since.

Speaker 9 (20:36):
Coming around the corner a young lady. But it was
still got still got Kurt.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
Yes, it's just like he's here.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Yes, no, no, no, no, nothing.

Speaker 6 (20:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Swing by your local seven eleven and grab your favorite

Speaker 6 (20:58):
No, Kurt, No, we're joking. Help you feel better if
you're sick. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Here's a great stat speaking of Kurt, that Kirk gave
us here in the last This blows my mind. The
last three games, Saquon Barkley is the only running back
in the NFL that has more rushing yards than Rico o'dowdell.

Speaker 6 (21:21):
Isn't that crazy? And you quit giving them the ball
the last game.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
That's that's the crazy part.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
Three hundred and twenty nine yards Barkley has four hundred
and eighty six.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Just that discrepancy of between number one and number two
in the last three games tells you what crazy season
Saquon's happened.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
But what will we That kind of blows me away. No,
go ahead, I was gonna say what, I know what,
But what was it? What was what was it thinking?

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Early into this year, Well, it was like running back
by Committee and I remember us coming on this show
and discussing it about, hey, running backs need rhythm, they
need to get them like taking me out after every
single series. I don't get a rhythm. I don't get
a vibe of what's going on, how plays are being
called for me, how things are being set up for me,
How am I setting these blocks up and all that,

(22:09):
And everybody's like, oh no, we got this running back
And I was like running back by Committee like that
never really really works it.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
And then they finally I.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Don't if I wonder if they would have if something's
different with him, or if they would have started giving
him the rock on a regular basis at the beginning,
if he would still be running the only.

Speaker 6 (22:30):
Thing he would have started earlier and still be this
the only thing.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
The two things that were in his way when he
first started was besides me going along with the running
back with the committee. I thought coach would handle it better,
but he I don't want to say nothing against Mike,
but they didn't handle that right. Wrong player, wrong situation.
But beyond that, now he's the main back. He learned

(22:55):
to be a little bit more patient and see the whole.
Earlier in the year, I guess he was just trying
to show them that he was the man. A lot
of times he wouldn't stay with the hole. A lot
of times he would hit people in the back, and
maybe that was because of the blocking.

Speaker 9 (23:09):
Wasn't as good either.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
True.

Speaker 8 (23:10):
But now you see him in the line as of
one accord.

Speaker 9 (23:15):
I mean he takes.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
The play to his fullest and then you'll see him
just break out of there, or you'll see him hit
ninety going north, But you don't see him just taking
off from the start going one hundred miles an hour,
he's easing up to that line and he has the
confidence to know that when it's open, he got the speed,
in the in the power and the quickness to get
through there. So that he is a better runner. UH

(23:38):
coach giving him more opportunities. And and when you see
that right now, that that makes you, that makes you
feel good because at the point he was going his
first four or six six games, I came in to him. Yes,
I say, is he just a second or third team guy?
Remember I actually that four or five weeks gonna like
God leave, you know, But now you know, I'm not

(23:59):
saying he's the that star stud back. But until you
get that guy, he's more than sufficient if.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
He keeps doing what he's doing.

Speaker 8 (24:08):
Now.

Speaker 6 (24:08):
I don't know what's going on, but Jesse is typing
on a computer. I've never seen that on this show.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Kurt takes one day off and Jesse's trying to fill
his role.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
I'm trying. Here's a crazy part about can't log in,
cannot log in.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
And the past Cota is right on the computer and
I cannot get ex my man in the bag.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
The past cod is on the come in, come.

Speaker 9 (24:35):
In, because I try to Is that a Star.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
Before the number I got, kid.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
I don't know. Yeah, I've never seen you try to
use the computer, use your phone. I don't know why
you're doing that.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
I was trying to get you know.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
When people say and I had to check somebody the
other day about like you know Kurt, I was like, nah,
Kurt may not talk a lot.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Kurt breaks a ton of value to our show like today.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Normally Kurt would make sure that we have a roster
so that we start talking about these things. I don't
have to go number, I can go name in numbers.
So people way but identified with it. So thank you,
Chris Pan, I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (25:10):
Welcome to the show, Chris.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Is that a star?

Speaker 6 (25:14):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (25:15):
It's a star Wars not working.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
And so yeah, so tho's things like that, like you know,
a roster to Kurt brings us the opposing team and
the roster so that when we're explaining what we're seeing.
I don't I know, I can have proper names to
go with proper numbers out here.

Speaker 6 (25:33):
It's a roster.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
So I was trying to bring up a roster.

Speaker 6 (25:35):
All right, Well, why don't we get that figured out? PFF.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Speaking of Kurt, his favorite website. They ranked Carolina's offensive
line tenth in the NFL. Both guards and both tackles
are ranked among the top twenty five at their positions.
And then Bryce Young we talked about it earlier. He's
getting better? Is he getting better because his offensive line
is getting better? Are they what are you seeing on film?

(25:59):
Is he Are they asking him to do something different
than they did.

Speaker 6 (26:01):
At the beginning of the year. Yes, he just growing
into being in quarterback. What's going on?

Speaker 5 (26:07):
I think it's it's a combination. I think after the benching,
because sometimes you could that that pine will get you right, that.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Pine will get you right.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
And then the coach kind of takes a step back
canalis and a self evaluate, all right, where did we
fail this kid?

Speaker 9 (26:25):
Right?

Speaker 5 (26:25):
What were we asking this kid to do that maybe
we shouldn't have. And then Bryce was able to take
a step back and say, Okay, where was I bad?
Where was I holding the ball too long? Was I
not making my reads properly? And then when he got
his start back, they started running the ball more. You
start seeing them run the ball more, and you know
they're going to run the ball with Chube Hubbard and

(26:47):
trust and believe you me, he's going to be He's
going to be a lot to deal with.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Sixth and rushing yards in the league oney eleven yards
and ninth in total carries at two hundred and thirty eight,
also has nine touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Yeah, So they started running the ball more, taking some
of the pressure off of Bryce Young and not making
him have to go out here and make all the
plays all the time for this team. And again, Ny
could talk more about the offensive line. But when I'm
running the ball more and I'm establishing thank you, and
I'm establishing the line of scrimmage, Now, how does that

(27:20):
play factor into the quarterbacking my play action? They like
to roll Bryce Young out right or left. As I
was watching film a little bit last night and this morning,
all I can think about was the cartoon Tom and Jerry,
and that's gonna be Micah and Bryce.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
It's gonna be Tom chasing chasing Jerry chasing him.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Around and this like a little mouse just running around.
And when Bryce honestly has time, he's actually a really
good throw at the football. But I did what I
did see from Bryce is when I was playing, there
were quarterbacks like Rex Grossman, Jay Cutler and uh Eli Manning.

(28:05):
If you just played the game, those type of quarterbacks
for the defense.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Were gonna give you one. They were gonna give you
a chance to intercept it.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
And when you watch Bryce Young throughout all of his games,
there's always a moment in there where he just he
throws one of you go why why he had it
against the Philadelphia game, he said one down the side
LINEE see they gonna Johnson intercepted it, like he's gonna
give you one. Now, Willie Cooker or Donald whoever? Will
they take advantage of it? I don't know. But he's

(28:36):
gotten better because honestly, they've run the ball more, they've
been able to establish the line of scrimmage, and and
everyone's just not blitzing him, and he's looking like a
deal with the looking in the headlights.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
Anything on the offensive line, Nate.

Speaker 8 (28:51):
Yes, when I first started looking at it was against Philadelphia.

Speaker 9 (28:54):
I'm looking at it and I living now in Tampa.

Speaker 11 (28:56):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (28:57):
I was like, I looked at the left guard center
and I'm like, these dudes all right now, they wasn't
giving up giving up. It seems like the lateral movement
is not that great. But I think due to the
fact that they're running the ball more. It helps them
in their past block and in their in their play
action past. They're a strong team. But I'm telling you,

(29:19):
if you can run some games, I would like to
see some games against the tsu ets uh some twists,
even bringing the lineback and slanting the tackle in the
in the end down and bringing the line back, because
I just don't think the lateral movement is that great.
I really don't. Now, you ain't gonna run over them.
They got some beef upfront. They got some hogs, you know,

(29:40):
rooting up front, and they will move you off the ball.
I've seen them do some things to some people. They
will move you off the ball. But I just don't
believe they're that great a pass block. And they give
ground quick, letting me know that they don't feel real secure.

Speaker 9 (29:52):
Are their offensive line.

Speaker 8 (29:54):
Coach teaches the drop back technique of give ground before
you make contact, and I don't know he's believe in
that way.

Speaker 9 (30:00):
You just give ground then punch.

Speaker 8 (30:02):
I'd like to take a step, then punch, a pop up,
then punch, not just give three or four yards and
then punched out. I don't like that. That give momentum
to a great pass rushing team. So if we can
take a where they're run, if we can get them
down by seven points and take a where they're run
and we continue to run against them, they offense, I

(30:23):
don't think they can hold up.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
You know what, I just realized, Jesse, Yes, in this moment,
I just realized this.

Speaker 6 (30:30):
Nate's got a lot of really. Here's a lot of really.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
I guess you could call them.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
We call them schemes or a.

Speaker 9 (30:39):
Lot of good you know, thoughts on offensive line plate.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
No, that's not the word.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
I'm looking for a lot of He's a hustler. Nata
is an old head hustler, right. He's always got something
going on. He's always grinding, he's always now. He's one
of the hardest working people I know. And he doesn't
have to work hard. He chooses to work this hard.
Nate does not, hardly, ever, say no to an opportunity

(31:05):
to make money at grabbing a dollar. He has duped
us for the last I know, probably since he got
that fancy iPad.

Speaker 6 (31:15):
You realize what he's doing. I just realized this. He is.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
He is on one job, working two or three other jobs,
acting like he's actually doing it. For this job, he
don't need to watch film for this job, but he
watches film on this job to talk about the film
on other jobs.

Speaker 6 (31:37):
That's a good for you, man.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
I just realize what you're doing, and I got news
and it works.

Speaker 9 (31:42):
He does the.

Speaker 6 (31:48):
Time, like your practice for it all times.

Speaker 5 (31:51):
By the time we get to Sunday, I don't even
have to have I don't honestly, I don't have to
have notes. By the time I get to do my
pregam show. I've talked about it so much. I've looked
at the film, I've watched it, I've rehearsed it, I've
set things on this show my other shows.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Have you guys ever said something on a show and
then you talk about it so much you actually talk
yourself into a different opinion, And by the time it
reaches another show, when you have to be consistent, you
have to even if you don't believe it.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
Like even sometime I'll say a score earlier, I'm like, damn,
I don't know if I believe that score. I can't
change it now with it because I don't know who's
watching what shut up you said on this show. So
I try to be as consistent as I can, as possible.
Sometimes I forget what show I said?

Speaker 3 (32:38):
What end?

Speaker 5 (32:38):
Yeah, Like, come on, I know this is a fact
that I need to bring up, and I'm like, did
I say it on this show?

Speaker 3 (32:44):
I'll say it again.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
All right, let's take our last break. Still have an
open chair. I don't think we're gonna fill it.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
But Big Rob, Big Rob, come through, Big Rob.

Speaker 6 (32:53):
Somebody come down. Somebody please, just staring.

Speaker 3 (32:56):

Speaker 2 (35:36):
We don't have a show tomorrow, so today and then
Friday and then game day. So what do you guys think?
Obviously you could tell the last game as well. CD's
shoulder is really bothering him?

Speaker 6 (35:49):
Is that something? Is that something you protect him against?

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Now that we're at this point of the season, do
you still run him out there and let him play.

Speaker 6 (35:58):
Do you rest him? What he want? What do you do?
Just if he's able to go, he goes.

Speaker 9 (36:02):
It's five games left counting this one, I.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Think, so yeah, yeah, four is it?

Speaker 6 (36:08):
Four?

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Four?

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Four? Counting this one counting this one is four?

Speaker 8 (36:12):
Okay the thing and maybe I'm I'm thinking different, but.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Three bucks we got you got bucks Philly, Washington. So
counting this one is four four, y'all? Yeah, right, tell
this CD is still performing. He's still the best thing
on our side of the ball.

Speaker 8 (36:40):
Uh, it'll take a higher up coach, mister Jones or
somebody that stopped him from getting on the field at
this point.

Speaker 9 (36:47):
Uh, unlike unlike Zach was Zach.

Speaker 8 (36:50):
Zach was not performing at the level that was acceptable.
That's why I was trying to get him off the field.
But the CD is still performing at that and uh,
you know, you know he's hurt because he took a
reverse the other day, boy, and he thought about turning
it up and he.

Speaker 9 (37:07):
Got on on the ground. Smart move, CD.

Speaker 8 (37:10):
Yeah, but I think he's still able to go with Jess,
give it your thoughts on that.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
When the season gets to a point like this, CD
is not a guy who has to worry about playing
for a contract. But what CD is a guy who
looks at numbers. Since CD came into the league, his
stats have been His first year is nine hundred and
thirty five yards. Then it was eleven hundred, thirteen fifty,

(37:39):
seventeen forty nine, and now he sits at nine hundred
and seventy three yards. He wants to get another.

Speaker 6 (37:46):
Thousand yard seasons, gonna play at least one more game.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
He wants to get another thousand yard season.

Speaker 5 (37:50):
Like that's something that these guys when you have nothing
else to play for. It comes down now to we
joke about this, but it's a serious thing. And I
don't know what his contract may have in it, but personally,
it's a it's a it's a it's a badge to
say I had another thousand yard season. Right when you

(38:11):
go back and look at his career, look at Mike
Evans and Tampa Bay. Like Mike Evans is playing well,
they still don't playoff hope, but trust and believe Mike
Evans is trying to get that eleven year or ten
years in a row of a thousand ards.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
And that makes sense too because just as a fan
if you go look at you know, pff for You're
looking at stats, right, and you're like, oh, this guy
does he does he deserve to be in the Hall
of Fame. Oh let me go look, you just you
don't know if they got hurt that year not. You're
just looking at rushing yards receiving yards. So that makes
a lot of sense that you want to you.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
Want to, You wanna, yeah, you want to.

Speaker 5 (38:45):
You want to get that number to a place where
you're saying, well, yeah, this is my fourth year in
a row. Yeah this this is my fourth ye in
a row of a thousand yards receiving. You know, some
contracts may have some bonuses in there that says, hey,
if you to this many yards in the season, that
you may get. Now, his contract probably not because of

(39:06):
the numbers the size of it, right, but thinking about
other guys, I think, now it's just it's legacy. It's
these last couple of games for him are our legacy.
How can I go in and yeah, I still want
to be out there. I want to show the Jones
and my teammates that I'm worth the contract. I want
to show people that I am tough, that I don't
quit when things go bad. That's who I am. But

(39:27):
there is a point in this where it's like another
couple of weeks, Yeah, thirty more yards and I'm in
the thousand. I'm in the thousand yard club again, and
maybe I can get up to that point where because
right now he sits at eighty eighty five receptions, so
another fifteen receptions and now I'm in the one hundred

(39:50):
yard catch which he has had well the last three years,
one hundred and seven to twenty twenty two, one five
and twenty twenty three is eighty five right now in
twenty twenty four, so one hundred yard, one hundred catches
and a thousand yard season, those things start to look like,
you know because again like you said, and you go back,
no one's gonna know that in the year twenty twenty

(40:11):
four and looking at stats that his quarterback was Cooper
rush for more more, you know more most.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Of the season.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
They're gonna say thousand yards, one hundred catches. His numbers
match up to what the numbers say.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
What is his touchdown is just four?

Speaker 9 (40:26):
Yeah, yeah, he may want to get him a couple
more's just you.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
Know five he has five.

Speaker 6 (40:30):
To what's his history touchdowns per year.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Five twenty, twenty five, six, nine, twelve, five.

Speaker 6 (40:38):
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. It makes a lot of
sense in four games, including this game, as far as
wide receivers.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Is there anybody, uh you know, they got old man
Thilan over there?

Speaker 6 (40:50):
They got is it Leget? Is that how you say
his name?

Speaker 10 (40:53):
Lee?

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Get?

Speaker 6 (40:53):
Lee Get? Yeah? Exavier?

Speaker 2 (40:55):
Does anybody scare you on there? Or Cube Hubbard? The
own person you really need to worry about now.

Speaker 5 (41:02):
Old mad feeling where he gets you like you have
ever been to the YMCA and played basketball, and it's
that one dude in there. Don't really look like he's
a baller, but all of a sudden you see him
on the court and he is cooking. Dude, Romo doesn't
look like it, but you get out there and all
of a sudden, now he is fundamentally sound. You're like, oh,

(41:24):
you can't take the ball from him, right, he's head faking,
he's pump faking, and he's he's jabbing it. And next
thing you know, you look up and that joker then
ran the whole He done ran the whole session all
day long. That's Adam Thieling, eleven year guy, not fast,
not fancy can't jam at the line of scrimmage. He
runs really, really really precise routes, has really good hands.

(41:46):
He ain't running away from you. But anything intermediate he's
gonna sell like he's gonna if he runs it out
and up, he's.

Speaker 9 (41:53):
Gonna run up.

Speaker 3 (41:55):
He's gonna sell it.

Speaker 5 (41:56):
His head and shoulder's gonna be pointing one way and
looking back and next thing you know, you're like, oh, yeah,
I got him. He turns up and it's a it's
a complete shit right. Like even against Philadelphia he had
ten catches for over over one hundred yards, so.

Speaker 6 (42:09):
So he's still got something.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
He's not a guy that scares me, but he's a
he's a guy who fundamentally sound. He's like the Tim
Duncan of Reshiver right now, and you know he's gonna
find a way to get open and and and get
he he has big playability, inconsistent hands. He can make

(42:33):
a big he'll he'll make a big play, a big catch,
and then he'll drop two to hit him right in
the hands. So he has this level of inconsistency. If
they get the running game going, that's where that's where
the focus has to be. And you know the Cowboys,
we all know now they'll be without They'll be without
de Marveian overshown.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
So now insert his boy Marafoul Marafoul, Marafoul Luise. But insert.

Speaker 5 (43:05):
Then. I don't want to call a Marifile gig because
I was joking around Mara Maris Luis Foule.

Speaker 9 (43:13):
He got right number thirty five.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
Insert him into the lineup. Now, how does that? How
does that work?

Speaker 9 (43:21):
Right?

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Because he was starting early in the year. Now you moved,
you went to to Marrion, and now you got to
go back to to Marris. So it's gonna be interesting
because they're gonna try to run the football against the Cowboys.
And like I said, their offensive line is not bad.
They're not bad when it comes to rushing the football.

Speaker 8 (43:38):
And they I'm telling you boy, they got a left
card in a in a center from the Meatball Brothers. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
And the Cowboys have gotten defensively against the run better
right as the years, I mean, as the season's kind
of progressed.

Speaker 6 (43:56):
Like, what's the big difference there? What have they done?
If y'all seen anything is run blitched?

Speaker 5 (44:01):
Okay, they've they've run blitched. I think one of the
big reasons is you've gotten a little bit better help
from the guys inside up front. You know, those guys
have been a little bit more. They've been fighting more.
It hasn't been just you're getting blown off the line

(44:22):
five six, seven yards off the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
Those guys have at least been fighting.

Speaker 5 (44:28):
And if they can just hold up up front, if
you don't get if you don't get smacked into the
linebacker's lap, Eric Kendricks can still make a play.

Speaker 6 (44:39):
Of course, we know.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
Overshown when he was in there could make a play.

Speaker 5 (44:45):
That's been I think the biggest thing is that, and
then the way that Zim has been using his run
blitz and his stunts to help guys out to get
to the running game. Now, the last couple of weeks,
they haven't played really good offensive linemen, so that's that's helped.
So it's gonna be interesting to see because this line
is not bad, like this is a decent to good

(45:07):
offensive line, especially in the run game. So it's gonna
be interesting to see how those guys feel. And it's
a short week. Remember that they played Monday night. You
turn right back around and play Sunday, So you know,
getting the game plan in trying to get your your
body rejuvenated. Where late in the year you're going up
to Carolina. It's gonna be outside. I'm not saying timp

(45:28):
it's gonna be like super cold, but it's gonna be outside.
It's gonna be a little chilly probably uh in the
in in the Carolinas.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
So yeah, we'll see, we'll see.

Speaker 9 (45:38):
All right.

Speaker 6 (45:38):
Before we get out of here, we just found out
that it is a loyal listener's anniversary today.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
