Speaker 7 (01:23):
It's late knights. There's good though it was good.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
I could miss today's show, and I apologize ahead of time.
I had some issues with childcare and I told the
Fellas I wasn't gonna make it, and everyone encouraged me
to bring Junior to the studio.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
So hi to Gray in the back with Chris. Good luck, Chris?
How you doing? Is this the best day of your life?
You're actually in a studio?
Speaker 8 (01:53):
You know that.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
I've never been to the studio before.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
No, is it pretty cool? Was it everything you dreamed
it would be?
Speaker 6 (02:00):
Hey? Are you?
Speaker 5 (02:02):
Are you gonna shoot YouTube videos all day in the back? Huh?
Speaker 6 (02:07):
So he hears himself in his ears.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Okay, we're good, I'll see it.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
That's right, he's going, Hell, I'll see you in forty
in forty two minutes. So thanks, great, thanks for let
me good luck Chris Fellas.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Did you see it coming? First off? Hanglo, you know
I gotta make this up about me.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Here we go as you should if you if you won,
it gotta be about you.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I missed by one point. Really I had twenty seven
twenty four. It was twenty six twenty four, So there
we go.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
You yourself on how many?
Speaker 5 (02:39):
How many weeks? Ten weeks?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
But yeah, I mean thoughts on the game man like
I Jesse, We know you didn't think they were gonna win.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
I did not. And you know, kudos to those guys, right, yeah, listen,
we get paid to sit here and to analyze and
to to talk and to try to figure out, you
know what we see. My playing days are done, Nate's
playing days are done, and so we don't have to
go out there and actually do the work. And earlier
(03:08):
in that day, those guys found out that they were
eliminated from playoff contention. And according to Jerry Jones, he
talked about it after the game. He said, if me
and Mike we met at his office before the game,
and it felt like we lost somebody. It's like that
they had on their face. But too. Credit to those
football players, man, those men going out there and just
fighting and fighting and playing hard and playing care free,
(03:31):
playing loose.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Then they had fun.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
They looked like they had fun. And I guess they're
they're they're in their Gritch mode. They're they're trying.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
To steal Christmas.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
From you know, from from from Tampa, who who are
still in a fight between this division winning in the AFC,
in the NFC South. Excuse me, uh, next week they'll
have Philadelphia no being in a Gritch stealing Christmas mode
again and then you know whatever it is left foot
when when they get to Washington. So shout out to
all of those guys man for stepping up up and
for playing tough and physical and uh and not quitting
(04:03):
on themselves. That's the big thing, not putting on themselves.
Well I was shocked. I was shocked, but they came
out and played well.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
When I heard that they were done, I was like,
that's gonna be just a kick in the junk and
they're just not gonna have any energy and they're gonna
be like surprised us.
Speaker 9 (04:18):
Yeah, is it a factor of they had nothing to lose,
so just go out there and play keep it loose
back on the school yard or.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Rush played like that.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
Jordan Lewis played like that, for sure.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
But that's how Jordan Lewis plays right like he plays.
He's been the one consistent guy and that defense that
has played physical and tough and just been a tone
setter all year long. But you saw guys like Cooper
Rush who came out there and played might be his
best game, maybe that in Minnesota, the Minnesota game, but
that probably was his best game, or at least his
(04:50):
best half of football. The way that he played in
that first half. Hell, even Mike McCarthy. All right, he
was even calling plays and designing plays and setting loves.
One player said another play up. He played so care
free out there. I mean, at least the first half
of the second half. I don't know what the hell
he was thinking about sometimes, But in the first half
of that football game, Michael from Pittsburgh was was in
(05:11):
his back. But there there was a lot of a
lot of guys, guys who who who played And we'll
talk about all of them, but a lot of guys.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Gray Grayson, great, how do you think the Cowboys played?
Speaker 10 (05:26):
We never had he never had, never Cowboys. He didn't
bring a backpack in nothing, no coat. I can't believe
he has closing nothing. He usually have something.
Speaker 6 (05:40):
The Cowboys play. Don't let these guys take stell your
thunder grease, stay up. Okay, all right, how did you
think the Cowboys played?
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Did you stay up all night like.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
You about what work in the game? What game?
Speaker 7 (05:57):
Do you think?
Speaker 9 (05:58):
It was just the first time in a while that
they beat a team with equal better talent. We talked
about that last week.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
Pittsburgh. Don't forget about you.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
That's Trueburgh.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah, oh, Jess, I like your suit.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
Oh yeah, talk about.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Welcome to the show.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
Look at Jesse's sued.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
You sat back for ten minutes talking to him.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
We've had seven minutes of the show.
Speaker 6 (06:25):
That's a beautiful suit. Man.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
He's gonna do it.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
You realize that he's gonna do everything he can to
draw y'all all sides today wrecked the show.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
Anything to not be productive today.
Speaker 6 (06:35):
You gave it to me.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
You say, hey, man, I got to keep my kid.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
Just bring him in.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Yes, what did you ask me?
Speaker 6 (06:48):
Again?
Speaker 5 (06:49):
I totally forgot where you got that jacket. That's not
what I asked you. I don't remember what I asked
you either.
Speaker 7 (06:54):
I don't remember what it was better equal talent?
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I think I'll keep it to
me is. I thought Tampa was a better football team.
I thought Tampa had more to play for. I thought Tampa,
you know, rosters currently construct this a little bit better
than the Cowboys. But that's why they play the games, right,
That's why you go out there and you play the games.
And the Cowboys again, they came out and they made
(07:20):
play after play affter play when they needed to make
those plays.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Why do you guys think because it's been a while
since we've been in this position where the season's over
with what how many games are left?
Speaker 6 (07:31):
Too?
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Two games and you're mathematically eliminated.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Your season's been over for several weeks, but like mathematically
you're out with two weeks left, right, And like you said,
these guys they're not quitting. We've seen teams in the
past quit before, and you know, get coaches, let go
and everything. But the is that is the NFL different
now than it was, let's say, ten years ago, where
(07:56):
guys realize, like, I can't quit because I might not
be in the league if I quit, I may not
be able to take care of my family. Or is
this team really showing something like I tell you what
it what surprised me, and I guess is impressing me
as CD right, I figured he would stay in. He
would get the thousand yards, he would get you know,
the numbers he needed to get to keep the records.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Rolling and all that stuff, and then I thought he
would just be like, I'm good. Well he kind of
did do that, but he came back.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
He had two snaps in the second half.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Yeah, but if he would have needed to, I think
stay in to come back in the last drive, like
he's still going out there and he could just be like,
I'm good.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
He could have no snaps, right, and you.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Can tell he's hurting, man like, and I tell you what,
he's earning a lot of street cred.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
By doing what he's doing, you know. And whether it's
for the numbers or whatever. But is this team are
they grittier? Are they different? Or is the league a
little bit different now?
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Because guys realize, you know, I'm I can't stop, you know,
it just it feels different.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
It's a that's a great question, And honestly, I don't
know if there's a wrong answer, because they're like this
team is very unique in its stance right now because
the guys that you're talking about, Like, I think what
Ceedee Lamb has done the last couple of weeks is
he's kind of shed that diva whiny powdy.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
Thing, right, He's tough now.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Like like I think now when we when we when
we get to twenty twenty five, twenty six, and he
had one of those moments where he's like, give me
the damn ball. I think we all will be like
give Like you know what I'm saying, You heard what
he said. Yeah, so that label of being kind of
what he kind of good player, great player, but he
(09:43):
did have that stigma. It was like can be a
bit of a diva, that wide receiver diva thing. You
get to that top tier receivers, you become diva. And
I think this has shed that.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
He's becoming a leader too, right, Like this is.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
The lead, right example, leading by example for sure. And
then you have guys like Deron Blan Now Deron Blair
missed ten games. Deron bland Is also guys looking for
a contract, right, so he wants to go out there
and do well. Same thing with Jordan Lewis, same thing.
But there's a bunch of guys who are in that
(10:17):
same vein. So that's the part where you go, is
this truly who they are? And I think guys like
Jordan Lewis, that's who he is, that's always who he's been.
But these other guys are all fighting for paydays and
for employment come next year, whether that be under Mike
(10:37):
McCarthy and Mike Zimmer or if that be under the
next regime. I think that's an important figure. So you know,
you know Mike's gonna play hard. You know Michael wants
to win. He's a competitor, But Michael also is in
a place where he says, you know what, adding a
few more sacks to my total doesn't hurt me, Adding
(10:58):
a few more pressures doesn't hurt me. Going to this
off where I'm trying to be the highest paid defensive
player in NFL history, those things don't don't They don't
hurt me, And other guys are trying to establish themselves.
So it's I don't know, it's it's a weird combination
of is this who they are, the circumstances lend for
them to have to be more.
Speaker 9 (11:20):
Well, Yeah, what came across my mind was, I think
earlier in the season or even the offseason, I think
Jerry had kind of admitted that one of his things
of not giving part of macarthuren extension, having all these
one year contracts was motivation. He knew these guys had
something to play for. Didn't exactly work out the way
(11:41):
he wanted, but here at the end, maybe it is
helping him at least they're not giving up because like this,
he said, they have something to play for next year.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
We ghosts and after the show, after the game, yesterday.
Speaker 11 (11:54):
And you know you hear me and Jesse and a
lot of other veteran guys that have played the game.
MAX players say they have something to play for, and
that's you know, the name on the back.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
And I asked the chance to say.
Speaker 11 (12:07):
You you wasn't a starter, now you're a starter. You
had a new defensive coordinator. How long did it take
you and this team? And he just said, straight up,
he said, took up this team four or five six
games before we become comfortable.
Speaker 6 (12:23):
I said, well, what was the issue?
Speaker 11 (12:25):
He said, every time we would get in a tight situation,
the first thing we would do was go wrap back
to what d Q had told us. So coaches was
continuing to hammer us stay with the program, stay with
the program. And then I said, okay, that's fine, I say,
but where do you go from here? He said, well,
you know what, I got a lot to play for it.
He named like three or four players were playing for
(12:46):
our name too, because not for only for this team,
but for teams out there we got we gotta make.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Sure we play well.
Speaker 11 (12:53):
So it's a multitude of things of why these guys
are playing well, but it all benefits them and his team.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
It don't matter what your motivation is. As long as it's.
Speaker 11 (13:03):
Clean and pure and you're going forward, that is the
only thing that counts. And I'm just glad to hear
a player say that, because I didn't want to just
think me Jesse and Jesse Holland you know they're playing
for that on their back. That's just how it is.
When you get this far in the season, you get
shot down. Hey man, y'all can play as hard as
(13:24):
you want you in going to the playoffs. That right there,
Now you go to your secondary cause, and that is
you and your.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Team much how much of it do you think is
them or is it any of it fighting for playing
for the coach and the coaching staff.
Speaker 6 (13:40):
Or I think, hello, hello, my young man. I think
I think the basics they like coach.
Speaker 11 (13:49):
I think basically, you know, not everybody's gonna like the coach,
but the majority of the guys like the coach. But
more importantly, they see how they can win within that system.
And now guys are starting to possible within that system,
so they're playing hard. All of that plays apart into
not so much that you like the coach, but is
(14:11):
he putting you in the position to win is this
offensive coordinator or this defensive corder putting me in a
position so I can shine. Because when you get this
lady in the seasons to know that you're not going
to you gotta have something to shine, something to show
these other thirty one teams.
Speaker 6 (14:25):
Hey, I'm legit. You know. Now I got a chance
to play. I'm legit. So you're out there.
Speaker 11 (14:31):
It's just it's no one thing for coach McCarthy. What
he's been preaching is do your job. Run the offense,
run the defense, stay within the boundaries of the special teams, and.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
You will be okay.
Speaker 11 (14:44):
He said it about eight games ago, when I don't
know who they played. He say, that is where we'll
be in a few weeks. This is where this is
what we're trying to be, you know, not saying that
they're gonna be a playoff team. Whoever the team is
I gainst with Detroit or someone like that. Yeah, you
ain't going now, home boy, but you know you can
win some games.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
This team is so like weird and so interesting and.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Like what other team you're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
Right the season's over. We shouldn't even have this podcast
for three weeks and we're.
Speaker 6 (15:16):
Sitting I'm here, I want to come get your dawn. Yah.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Hypothetically we shouldn't have this, but we have so much
to talk about. We're talking about like why are these
guys playing so hard? If you know, it's like there's
always some dynamic like we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
You know, there's a I think there's a me personally.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
I think there's a really good chance Mike McCarthy is
back as the head coach next year.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
And we've got you know, like who else is talking
like that because.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
We and we'll see what you Yeah, well, but hey.
Speaker 5 (15:57):
You beat Philly.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
You know.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
It's just there's just always so much to talk about,
and nothing is ever boring around here.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
Nothing is ever just like, well, the season's over, what
are we going to do for the next you know?
Two and a half three weeks.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Three said in that Netflix trailer it's a soap proper.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
I cannot wait.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
It's soap?
Speaker 5 (16:17):
When does that come out?
Speaker 4 (16:18):
I don't know, you know, Chris, you know, Chris went
behind the scenes and didn't want to tell Remember christ
was on the low.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Oh yeah, he was like he would miss a show
and be like, I can't tell you.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Where we know where he was at. Oh yeah, I
got something to do.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
I cannot wait. That's gonna be so good.
Speaker 6 (16:34):

Speaker 3 (19:30):
She's not watching, but I will, I will make sure,
I will record.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
It, send it to her for sure.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
What were you thinking when.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
You mean I will record it for I was gonna
do it on my phone.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
But that's a lot a lot better.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
What were you thinking when Tampa got the ball back
on one forty left?
Speaker 4 (19:46):
There was a stat There was a stat that came
up on the screen that said, not again, that Tampa
had never won a game when trailing by nine or
more in the fourth.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
That's crazy.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
And every week Micheles and I sky walker, every week
it seemed like the Cowboys, first time in NFL history,
first time in NFL history. So I'm like, not in
a good way, not in a good way. I'm like,
I said, here comes Literally I said to myself, here
comes the next first time in Tenna Bay history. Yeah,
like that, this is going to happen to them. And boy,
(20:22):
it looked like he was getting ready to walk him
down the field and Lewis and Deurn Blants in other Wise,
it was.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
So good to see Jordan Lewis because.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
We all know who he is, right we talk about
him on the show, and we know he's a dog
and you know he's.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
A great football player.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
To hear him get national recognition and see him do
that on a Sunday night game on the big stage, yeah,
he just I mean that one play where he put
the bionic arm up in the.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
Thing and just came down and like had the claw
grip on it.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
I mean, but if you don't looked at the stat
line this morning and you would have been like, Okay,
Baker Mayfield three hundred three yards passer rating him ninety
seven point three and they had a total of one
hundred and thirty four rushing yards, you'd have been like,
there's no way Cooper Rush kept up with that, Like.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
So, especially when we had thirty one.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
I don't think Yeah, I don't think you can.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
I don't think you can ask for a better backup
in the league unless you're unless you're using your backup
position to groom someone to be a starting quarterback somewhere.
But if you're just looking for somebody to keep you
at you know what, do you hope whenever you when
you have a backup, if he gets in you, you
want to keep you at about five hundred, right, you
want to win half your games? Right, don't don't turn
(21:38):
the ball over, drive the bus and like right now,
I mean I don't think you could ask him to
do much better.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
And it seems like he's getting better and better and better. Hell,
he could be the starter for some of the teams
in the league.
Speaker 6 (21:49):
Stop he's not.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
But he's not. But he's he's not a see here
we go here, we like you. You start that, you
start that stuff again. The man had a good game.
He had let's just let's let's let's just say, don't
don't start talking about he could be because if he
could be a start in the league race, he would
be he would be.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
Do you think he's better than Daniel Jones was when
he was starting in New York?
Speaker 6 (22:10):
No?
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Okay, no, fair enough, no, because if you if you
put if you put Daniel, if you put Cooper Rush
in that Daniel Jones situation, he'd look just as bad
as him.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
Okay.
Speaker 11 (22:22):
And then one thing that he ain't got at least
Daniel Jones can run like this dude, he can't run
for his life. He boy, he look he looked bad.
After about three games, Bro, what.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Do you think about the offensive line? They how are
they looking? They say, hanging in there?
Speaker 5 (22:36):
So are they improving?
Speaker 6 (22:38):
They are hanging in there.
Speaker 11 (22:39):
They made some plays and they were they were consistent
and they fought. Uh but number fifty boyd a veil?
Speaker 5 (22:47):
Did you see him grab poor.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
You know what, We're all just cringing.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
He let him off the hook. He could have.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
And when they said, and they were right, they said,
he's literally half his size. He literally one hundred and
fifty eight pounds versus three.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
But that wasn't the most impressive one for me.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Jake Ferguson when he hit Jake.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Ferguson, Oh yeah, Jake Ferguson definitely was like, did he
let a truck?
Speaker 5 (23:15):
Did he know what that play was? How did he
back out so quick?
Speaker 6 (23:19):
Well, he coverage, he was.
Speaker 5 (23:21):
But he backed out and knew exactly what the quarterback guys.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
So when he backs out, he's like, he's now kind
of the whole player or the rat player. He's looking
the quarterback guys. So when it threw it out there,
he just running.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
He was reading his eyes. I was like, how on
the hell did.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
He know any other player? Linebacker, Lavonte, whoever else? Jake?
Jake falls forward for a first down. Yeah, when three
hundred and fifty pounds in you moving moving, what's some momentum?
You stopped in your stance and you go down like
and they showed his eyes and showed Jake eyes on
the ground, and his eyes were like, what happened?
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Hell?
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Just happened, Nate? How how fuck go ahead?
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Chris Isaiah saw Jake this morning in the in the
breakfast hall and said asked him about it, and he's like, yeah,
I'm so filming that one this morning.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Yeah, Wow, I can hear beat a veil.
Speaker 11 (24:10):
When I'm gonna be able to drop back, when you're
gonna send me, let me drop back.
Speaker 6 (24:14):
I'm telling you, coach, you let me drop man. I
don't mix uping out. You know.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Yeah, how fun would it have been to watch that guy?
Because I know you were a big fan of him
coming out of college. Like, how fun would have been
to watch him weekend and week out? Man, That'd have
been your dream. We we would have got that guy
and plugged that hole and had.
Speaker 6 (24:30):
A second round, had a playoffs, it would have been history.
Had a player second round to playoff, would have been history. Baby,
he's fun to watch a good guy.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Man, What did you think about Cowboys?
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Defensively? Defensive line is starting to play. Looks like they're
starting to jail and starting to play pretty good.
Speaker 7 (24:52):
Like they're taking up two or three guys.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
And I like the way that Zim is deploying this
Like Zim Zim had decided, I'm not gonna sit back anymore.
I have to create pressure. So he's sending He's sending
a lot of guys a lot of times, and so
you know they The thing is when this defense is
not playing in such a deficit, especially when it's playing
(25:18):
with the lead, excuse me, you have more freedom to
be aggressive. It's when you're trailing so much and you're
being gashed so much, you got to kind of play
the conservative role. And you say, man, if we already
down ten, were already down fourteen, if they hit another
(25:38):
home run, that's pretty much curtains. So you have to
play this conservative bin, but don't break type defense. When
you within four to seven or you're up four, seven,
six nine, I can play more free because I have
cushion that if all those fails and they beat us
for a home run, we're down three now, or they
(26:00):
tie it up, or we still have a one point lead.
And so the way that he calls defenses opposed to
when they're down, it's completely different. They they get more
of that can pin our ears back and go forward.
They're not doing so much read and reacting, you know
in these games. But this defense, Micah would like you
had you had the stat last week. This defense twenty
(26:23):
four sacks coming into that game is since Micah has
been back. And then the thirteen turnovers now more than
that after this game put them third.
Speaker 7 (26:33):
Most sacks during that stretch or that stretch overall.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Yeah, third and takeaways and that so thirteenth, third and
takeawys and league with thirteen over that of that that
four or five game stretch. So you know, having Michah
Parsons is definitely a plus, and guys play off that.
But but but shout out somebody, exam man, he's put
these guys in the position to be successful.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
Offensive line. Go back to the offensive line, Nate.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
They look like they're having fun and you got some
It seems like you have some some dudes that got
some grit to him, a little bit of a little
bit of attitude. And it's been a while since we've
had it. Seems like we've always had the nice guy
offensive lines, Like you know, Travis Frederick was super nice
and Tyrn Smith didn't talk, and you know Zach Martin
(27:20):
super nice lyle was the only one that was kind
of nasty. It seems like these guys they gonna give
you that little extra.
Speaker 11 (27:27):
Yeah, when you're not as talented as those that you named,
you better have something else off.
Speaker 6 (27:39):
His name.
Speaker 11 (27:40):
You better have something else. And that's what they're doing.
They're trying to play hard. Coach is calling some decent
plays for him. Uh, Tuma, hats off to you, brother,
because you know I ain't want you on the field.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
But Tuma is finding a way. I got to get
credit away crazy. He finding a way to hang in there. Man.
Speaker 11 (27:58):
He hangs in there. He's happens one of two moments,
but he's he's hanging in there. Youumadoga is hanging in there.
Speaker 6 (28:05):
Man. Still thank you, Coach McCarthy.
Speaker 11 (28:08):
You know it took you a while to figure out
that your right tackle is they play action pass tackle.
Run as much as you pass and he will keep
his confidence. You flip that they to pass, deliver it
too much and we will see Freddy Krueger rise again.

Okay, okay, good good good?
Speaker 5 (31:02):
His job, his prophecy, his stat of the week. We
did not do the show wind up not being able
to do it. So what surprised you the most about
the game, either side of the ball, offense or defense?
Speaker 4 (31:16):
They were hitting.
Speaker 7 (31:17):
Yeah, I was gonna say that too.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
They were hitting like they were.
Speaker 7 (31:21):
Donovan gave yeah, ribs.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Yeah, it looked like that didn't feel too. He looked
like he was fine, and he was like, maybe I'm
hitting Like.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
There was some old school solid football playing like hitting
going on in that game they had to the Bucks
had the one play they ran, uh they ran a
bubble screen. I think it's no. The Jets sweep and
that the safety came down and he knocked over the
receiver and hit Trpert like right, did her turn the court?
Like they were hitting. It was some hitting going on
(31:52):
in that.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
Game that I was.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
I was, I was, I was impressed with this guy.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Spend a little extra time in the training room today today.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Yeah, Jake Ferguson being one of them.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
Know what what about you, Kurt?
Speaker 7 (32:04):
Yeah, I'm gonna say the same thing.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
The physicality of the guy leuis foul.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
Yeah, marafile, we're calling it.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
Well, he had a couple of marafiles.
Speaker 11 (32:16):
Man, don't do that. I'm finally started by the end
of it. By next year, in the middle of the
next year, I have it right.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
It just seemed like they had like they had something
to prove. Yeah, you know that was.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Which is so weird because they had absolutely nothing to
prove except then the name back.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
Yeah, and it's like I just did not expect the energy, and.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
I did you did? I just.
Speaker 11 (32:45):
These guys man that they're growing up and and I'm
just we have to sign at least seven guys besides.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
Number eleven. So that's a great side. I'm serious, because.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
Here's what you have. Here's what you're looking at. Right,
You're looking at guys like h Cavante, Okay, yeah, Turpin.
You're looking at guys like Jordan Lewis. Yes, you're looking
at guys like Chauncey Ghoston, O O c Osa, Odiggie Zua.
You're looking at guys like Aaric Kendricks. You're looking at
guys like Brandon Cooks.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
Rico.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
You're talking about Rico, Brandon Aubrey. It's another guy. I mean,
so what level of priority does it take to sign
all these guys?
Speaker 5 (33:32):
Wait, Brandon Aubrey?
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Is he the best kicker in Cowboys history? He's only
been here, I mean a very short time. But can
you the the best long distance hitter? What's the record?
Speaker 5 (33:42):
He got a record last night? Fourteen fourteen fifty plus
yard field.
Speaker 7 (33:46):
Goals and one season in one season, that's unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Mike Rico said. He said, fifty plus yard field goals
are like free throws to him, and I was like, damn,
that's a great analogy, Like that's a great and he
makes fifty plus yard field goals look easy.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (34:01):
We was talking to him last night after the game.
We say, uh, you know, how do you prepare?
Speaker 9 (34:05):
Well?
Speaker 6 (34:05):
You know, I go out and hit before the game.
Speaker 11 (34:08):
Then you know, depending on where we add and how
my my swaying feel, you know, hiss kicked. He said,
Then I give the coach what I think I can do.
I said, hey, well what you thought you could do?
Speaker 6 (34:17):
This game? Real compliment at sixty four? Say fifty seven
by respect, he said, you feel real confidence sixty.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
How did y'all get folks on the show. Were y'all
here at the studio?
Speaker 6 (34:32):
Yeah, we was back at the stadium. Man, and when
you win, so you know how easy it is.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
Around everybody.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
I want to talk.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Ain't nobody telling them no, he can't talk about nobody.
Nobody nobody from talking trying.
Speaker 11 (34:46):
To, you know, keep us away from that guy who
blocked I mean who called, I mean, who missed the
very mind.
Speaker 9 (34:52):
Did you see that Chargers play where they kicked that.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
Free free kick? Yes, sir, yes, sir.
Speaker 9 (34:58):
That seems like a s that's all man.
Speaker 6 (35:03):
Fifty seven yards free kick.
Speaker 11 (35:06):
But back then that started them to the win, that
that propelled them to that win.
Speaker 5 (35:10):
Sure, back to your your point, like, you can't sign
them all? No, and how do you got to sign
the majority of them? How do you have the money?
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Don't do that? You have the money, They got the money.
I mean, signing in the studio frees up a lot
of money, Like signing Michael will do that, hitting twitches
and other guys will do that.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
But because you've already been told that, so here's.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
So, so come on. So here's my thing on that is,
I want them to be very very aggressive in free agency.
Will it happened? We do not know. History says no,
it won't. Right, That's what history says. Because if you're
telling me that I either signed Brandon Cooks back or
(35:58):
I can go and spend a little bit more and
getting a better player, then I need to spend that
little bit more, you know what I'm saying. So what
what are the options like what what what are we
saying sign all these guys back? Because I don't want
to sign guys back and we missed opportunity to get
a got a better guy, you know what I'm saying,
Like I don't. I don't want that to be be
the thing. And also there are still a lot of
(36:21):
holes to filling this team. You still need running back,
you still need offensive line. You for sure need a
number two wide receiver, you need linebackers. You're gonna need
some more dbs. You're gonna you're gonna need a new
set of safeties like there are so going into the
draft is it's it's this team has a lot, a lot,
a lot, a lot a lot of holes that they
need to be filled. And if I can get some
(36:42):
of these guys that are currently on this team back
at the right price price, then cool, we can talk
about that. But I don't want to miss the opportunities
because I gave this guy some money that I didn't
want to go out and give the better player a
couple more dollars and put them on his football team.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
Who are your go ahead?
Speaker 11 (36:59):
But still if you if you get that better player,
I understand that, but to not sign nobody and to
just get all young guys, just keep picking people.
Speaker 6 (37:11):
Off practice squab rosters.
Speaker 11 (37:13):
And now all of a sudden you signed back Parsons
and they didn't take your.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
Suggestion or signing back some of their own. You start
from ground zero again. We'll be sitting there. Well, put
Michael from Pittsburgh and Zim from Brooklyn. I don't want
to go through that next year.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
You know what I'm saying. It starts first with signing
Mica up as fast as you possibly can.
Speaker 7 (37:33):
I can't wait till the end of the training camp.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Like, we can't do that again, because what happens now
is you you if you wait to sign Michaeh, then
you do find yourself in a situation where you don't
know how much your cap you'll.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
Have, you miss out on free agency. Let's go ahead
and get him done so we know what we're working with.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
So now I don't know if that's the part they
want us to know that they that you know what
I'm saying, Because when you don't sign as always that well,
we didn't know how much it was gonna cost, so
we couldn't really go out there and spend monch. Now,
go ahead and he's already said probably a little bit
too much. Already, he's already killing you. Don't don't be
the first one to talking negotiations, like, don't be that guy, like,
let let's let the negotiations work himself out. But he's
already publicly said, you know, thirty o't get it.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
You know what, his agent, I know his agent hated that.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
But as far as like fan perception, like I feel
like the fan base was kind of like, like you said,
you know, he's got the podcast and he says to me,
I feel like he really endeared himself to the fan
base and it was kind of like.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
You would do it. He probably wasn't true, yeah, right right, but.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
Still the perception is like, you know what, Okay, like's.
Speaker 7 (38:38):
I heard that.
Speaker 9 (38:38):
I was like, well, we heard Dak say that. You know,
I don't play for money. I just thought it was.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
More lip service.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
David ma little gotta who his agent is going to
get his is one of the best agents in this
in this in this league, and you know he he's not.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
He's not Mike. I know what you said, but just
go do the podcast. Let me handle.
Speaker 11 (38:59):
The bottom line is is what you said, Yes, don't
wait I mean, you cannot continue to tell the fans.
Oh if I if I just knew, sir, if you
would have signed them, you could you could have been
out in front of this thing, so that that's not
gonna work again.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
How would you who would be your priorities? Let's say
Micah's number one, I'm sure on everybody's listing here. Who
would be your your second and third guy?
Speaker 6 (39:27):
I would go all defensive line. I would try to because.
Speaker 11 (39:30):
Your defensive line made these help these linebackers be who
they are. It got to be defensive line. It's got
to be a priority. It's got to be a priority.
I don't mind gonna sound crazy, but.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Yeah, I think I think you gotta sign the Kicker
and Turpin because Turpin can flip a game on you.
Speaker 4 (39:51):
No, that's not a priority. Turp is not a priority.
Speaker 5 (39:53):
You wouldn't put him up there.
Speaker 6 (39:55):
No, I put the killer, but not not.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
No, I think we can find another Turp if we
needed to.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Think so, we haven't seen a Turping around here since
that don't mean ain't not.
Speaker 6 (40:05):
We just ain't tried to sign him.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
I mean the last one we had that was even
in the ballpark, and what he I don't even think
he was in the ballpark.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
Was Harris?
Speaker 6 (40:14):
I understand your liking Dwayn.
Speaker 4 (40:15):
Harris had probably have Dwayne Harris has more kick off
on pumper turns back than he does.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
Yeah, but was he did he have the big play
capability or explosiveness.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
That capability or actual productivity in it?
Speaker 5 (40:28):
I guess both?
Speaker 6 (40:29):
Yeah, okay, but it's understanding why you like him.
Speaker 5 (40:33):
You know, well he is.
Speaker 6 (40:35):
You know you can look at from from the hometown.
Speaker 5 (40:39):
There's a lot of reasons.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Yeah, you probably moved around eight times.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
Which hey, he's probably five ages.
Speaker 6 (40:45):
Like lisably moving around. But one year old seventeen?
Speaker 5 (40:51):
What would you priorty be?
Speaker 4 (40:52):
I just told you?
Speaker 5 (40:55):
And then and then who after him? Did you just
feel in your pants right now?
Speaker 7 (41:03):
I dropped the lid is trying to miss maun. I
was trying to.
Speaker 4 (41:07):
Catch the lid y on the table.
Speaker 9 (41:13):
Players mess seeing water in my hand, dropped the cap
catching players messing.
Speaker 6 (41:22):
You signed to dude? They trying to catch the part
double down and you.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
Know too much when they get right around his mouth,
he missing that.
Speaker 5 (41:35):
That five kids.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
Stop trying to give my boy extra.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Who would you kick her? And then defense it would
be your number one defensive guy behind Michael.
Speaker 5 (41:52):
Also, it's a good one.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
You gotta you gotta show up that defense. You gotta
as best as possibly can't. You gotta, you gotta brings
back because.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
If you don't have him, you don't. Yeah, what about you.
Speaker 7 (42:04):
Kurt, Yeah kicker, I'd pick no, I'd pick the first.
Speaker 6 (42:07):
I think.
Speaker 9 (42:08):
I mean, Aubrey is a great kicker, obviously, but there's
a lot of good kickers out there. And when this
team is hurting for defense, defensive line, yeah.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
I think I'll be like when I say him, because
I think he might have the easiest deal to kind
of go. You know what I'm saying, Like, it won't
be like he's not gonna break the bank. He's not
Like this is the way because like we we special
teams isn't talked about until they don't do what you
need to do.
Speaker 5 (42:37):
You don't you don't want to be known.
Speaker 4 (42:38):
You know what I'm saying, Like not to bring up
like high school stuff, but you saw high school. You
saw south Old Cliff give up two kickoff returns back
for a touchdown and then mister field goal to win
the championship. You saw all throughout the league this weekend.
Where guys, when you got something that show fire from
fifty plus, that that that that's a that's a weapon,
(43:00):
and that's that's that's Chris Kyle level of just being
a sniper. When you got that on your team, it
just puts you in a position where changes the game.
Speaker 5 (43:08):
You call off.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
Its different. You know what I'm saying. You just like, hey,
we just get here.
Speaker 5 (43:11):
We logo.
Speaker 4 (43:12):
Yeah, we're good. We get we're good. And look at
last night's game, right, Like, look at last night's game.
What was the final score?
Speaker 6 (43:22):
Two points?
Speaker 4 (43:22):
Two points? He misses any one of those fifty eight
yard touchdowns, it's a different ball game. So to have
someone goes, excuse me, field goal, excuse me to have
what he had fifty eight fifty eight fifty three, had
two fifty eight fifty three or something like that. You
had like four or five field goals last night, Right,
you miss any one of those, you lose a ball game.

(43:45):
when when you talk about oh, Cowboys field goal team,
come on, you go take a you go take a
pee because you're like, this is this is good. I
can go get a fresh beer, go get some snacks,
you use the bathroom. You don't even have to worry
about it anymore. Like, think about that level of security
in a player. I don't think it's another player on
this team that you have that level of confidence about.
Speaker 5 (44:05):
And he was their job consistently, right, And.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
