1.Jesus exchanged his life for Barabbas
イエスはバラバと命を引き換えた

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed. (21) “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. (22) “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!”

ところが、祭司長とユダヤの役人たちは、バラバを釈放し、イエスの死刑を要求するように、群衆をたきつけました。(21)それで、ピラトがもう一度、「二人のうち、どちらを釈放してほしいのか」と尋ねると、群衆は即座に、「バラバを！」と大声で叫んだのでした。(22)「では、キリストと呼ばれるあのイエスは、どうするのだ。」「十字架につけろ！」

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” (40) But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? (41) We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” (42) Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (43) Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

イエスの横で十字架につけられていた犯罪人の一人が、「あんたはメシヤなんだってなあ。だったら、自分とおれたちを救ってもよさそうなもんだ。どうなんだ」とののしりました。(40-41)しかし、もう一人の犯罪人は、それをたしなめました。「この期に及んで、まだ神を恐れないのか！ おれたちは悪事を働いたんだから、報いを受けるのはあたりまえだ。だが、このお方は悪いことは何もしなかったのだ。」 (42)そして、イエスにこう頼みました。「イエス様。御国に入る時、どうぞ私を思い出してください。」(43)イエスはお答えになりました。「あなたは今日、わたしといっしょにパラダイス（天国）に入ります。」
2.Jesus exchanges his life for the Roman soldier
イエスはローマ軍の隊長のためにも命を引き換えた

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, (45) for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. (46) Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. When he had said this, he breathed his last. (47) The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

その時です。正午だというのに、突然、あたりが暗くなり、午後三時までそんな状態が続きました。(45)太陽は光を失い、神殿の幕が、なんと真っ二つに裂けたのです。(46)その時イエスは、大声で、「父よ。わたしの霊を御手におゆだねします！」と叫んで、息を引き取られました。(47)刑を執行していたローマ軍の隊長は、不思議な出来事を見て、神への恐れに打たれ、「確かに、この人は正しい方だった」と言いました。

When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”

3.Jesus exchanged his life for me and you
私とあなたのためにもイエスは命を引き換えた

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (7) Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. (8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
