39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence?
41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

39イエスの横で十字架につけられていた犯罪人の一人が、「あんたはメシヤなんだってなあ。だったら、自分とおれたちを救ってもよさそうなもんだ。どうなんだ」とののしりました。
40-41しかし、もう一人の犯罪人は、それをたしなめました。「この期に及んで、まだ神を恐れないのか！ おれたちは悪事を働いたんだから、報いを受けるのはあたりまえだ。だが、このお方は悪いことは何もしなかったのだ。」
42そして、イエスにこう頼みました。「イエス様。御国に入る時、どうぞ私を思い出してください。」
