When we look back to the first century after Jesus’ death and resurrection, we see that Christians practiced a simple faith. They followed the instructions of Jesus and his inspired followers-men like Paul, Peter, and John. Today we have these instructions in the letters and books of the New Testament. Surely all Christians can agree on these teachings! So we try very hard to model our Christian life on the church described in the New Testament.
Children are naturally attracted to Jesus, but sometimes well meaning adults get in the way.
Empty vessels aren't able to pour out blessings for others.
It's as if God got tired of waiting for us to go to the nations and has instead brought the nations to us.
God in the OT is more merciful than we tend to think. His laws, when compared to ancient laws of the time, are compassionate and point towards his eternal ideals.
When brothers and sisters in Christ wander away, what keeps us from reacting like a shepherd missing a sheep or a woman losing a coin or a granddad missing a grandson?
We are Jesus' arms and hands and we have been blessed with the privilege of bringing his blessings to our children.
Lift burdens - carry loads - grab a big handful of someone's jacket and help push them up life's mountain.
When we invite people to join us in worship we aren't putting our trust in the preacher, the song leader, or even that some of us won't be grumpy - instead, we are putting our trust in the power of God's word - it will not return to him empty, but will accomplish what He desires and will achieve the purpose for which it was sent.

Jesus challenges us to climb back up to the heights of love, not be a afraid of this world, turn away from sin, wake up to our mission, hold on to our faith and turn up the heat on our passion for God.
He has come! He is here! Rejoice!
Jesus' fences don't imprison us, wall us off or trap us - instead they free us to follow our hearts straight to God.
Let's open our doors, pull back our blind, turn on the lights and invite our brothers and sisters to see that, just like them and just like Paul, we can't do it on our own - we aren't that strong.
Sometimes what we need is the truth -to have our eyes opened to the bigger picture. But other times tears are exactly what we need - just to have someone cry with us.
God delights in demonstrating His power in our weakness.
It turns out that maturity is as love does.
When the special privileges given to the rich and famous bleed over into the church, them we can be sure that we have become stained by the world.
When Jesus restores, he restores completely. Like Peter, your failures don't relegate you to a secondary spot in God's kingdom.
Our true prayers to God don't begin with 'Dear God' and they don't end with 'Amen!' All of our lives are lived in conversation with God.
