5.17 Salt and Light; Water and Fire

There is much greater depth to being salt and light when we draw out the other connected foundational elements- water and fire. These may be implicit in these verses in Matthew and in the context of the culture being spoken to but they are very explicitly dealt with throughout scripture in other places. These other passages are explored and the interplay between them and Matthew is looked at as we dig into the interplay between salt and light, water and fire.
