Med trancelåten Boten Anna tog Jonas "Basshunter" Altberg över topplistor runt om i Europa sommaren 2006. Några år senare slog han igenom i England med debutskivan Now You're Gone – och blev en av Europas största artister. Men vägen dit var lång och krokig. Inte ens hans egna föräldrar trodde på honom.
P3 Musikdokumentär om Basshunter är historien om pojken som slog igenom helt på egen hand. Jonas Altberg var utsatt i skolan och hamnade i dåligt umgänge. Men genom musiken hittade han en tillflyktsort. Musiken kommer också ta honom hela vägen till toppen av Englandslistan, både för singlar och album. Av svenska artister är det endast Abba som legat längre på listan i den moderna popmusikens hemland. Men kändisskapet har ett pris: hans sexbilder läcker ut på nätet och han blir jagad av vilda paparazzis i Magaluf på Mallorca. Och i Sverige tävlar recensenter och tyckare om vem som kan ge den hårdaste dissen till den svenska trancestjärnan.
