(00:49):
Limited time offer cannot be combined with other offers. Exclusions
and terms apply. All right, we are getting locked and
loaded for Week two, Patriots versus the Dolphins. This team
in Miami for this one, of course, they have papar
Rillo and Duce. I'm Kwannie Lunis, guys. With the team
being on the road, you know spirits were crushed in

(01:10):
a Week one, of course, But how who have you
too been able to see that this team has been
able to stay reinvigorated and inspired as they had two
part work.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
I think it's about you know, patients and just reinforcing
This is game one of a you know, new regime,
and Josh McDaniel said it this week, this is Drake
May's first go around in this system. So I think
everyone was disappointed to lose the game and felt for
a brief period of time in the first half like
maybe you could have had control of it. And I
think spirits were high going in the second half. We
know what happened from there. So I think this is

(01:41):
about tough challenge for a team that's looking to find
their identity and we'll see if those two things intersect
today exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, I mean it's going to be one of the questions, right,
how does you know the two teams that both had
disappointing openers, how do how does they respond in Miami?
Because we can sit there and talk about how much
Miami's in disarray with all the stuff that's gone on
with Mike McDaniel and being the odds on favorite to
be the first coach on you know, certainly on the

(02:09):
hot seat, but to lose his job. Even they're having
player only meetings and everybody's like, oh, this is great.
The Patriots have them right where they want them. What
if all that stuff works, you know, what if Miami
decides to show some professionalism as opposed to whatever it
was they put on the field, I mean, you know,
against it. For as much as we're all disappointed with
happened here against Las Vegas last week, Miami situation in

(02:32):
Indy was was far worse. So that I think would
be the big question which team responds to the early adversity.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Absolutely, And let's take a look back. You go back
to last week, specifically when it comes to Drake May
and some of the stats of his performance this past
last week. Week one, let's call that graphic up.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, I mean I think it's it's really and you know,
the stats are what they are. You look at that
interception there early in the third quarter is kind of
the turning point of the game, and you know, that's
something that a young quarterback and a young team have
to learn to bounce back from. And they went far
too quiet after that interception when Mike Abel spent you

(03:15):
know a lot of the summer talking about the second
half and really making efforts to tell his team this
is when winning time is.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You know, this is when we have to be better.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Stopping practices after a team session and you know, having
a little bit of a regroup and saying, all right,
this is going to be the second half now. So
I'm sure Mike brab will continue to preach those things.
And you know, it just gets harder today with being
down in Miami in that second half. And you know
a lot of the guys this week in the locker room,
they're from down there. Well, Cambell, he's used to playing
in the heat. Mac Collins said he loves it. He
played for Miami a little bit. But I think when
you've been up here and you get a little bit

(03:43):
climate climatized to September, dryer weather here in New England
and then you go down there in Miami, it is a.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Little bit of a challenge. I think, yeah, absolutely, And
you know it's no picnic down there. There is the
reason why Miami has had a lot of success in
those you know sort of one o'clock September October home games.
You know, maybe this one isn't going to be quite
as stifling as they've had in the past, but it's
still going to be in the upper eighties. Yeah, and
I think Mike you alluded to it. The humidity down

(04:09):
there is just different. You know, we did a little
intel uh you know, you and I, you know, just
just talking to some people in the organization about you know,
who went to school down in the South. Oh no, no, no,
you know Baton Rouge in Miami is not the same
in terms of in terms of humidity. So even that
drastic climate change, uh, you know, from from here to

(04:31):
Baton Rouge, you would think, oh we'd melt, So you
can imagine what it must be like in Miami. So
it won't be It's not going to be easy.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
And that being said, you talk about being playing against
Miami overall historically when you look at the Dolphins for one,
to a tug of viola seven and zero against the Patriots,
which in itself already should be intimidating, but overall, just
the the way that the like you mentioned, this team
is going to want to bounce back after an embarrassing
loss last week. The Patriots last win in Miami twenty nineteen,

(05:02):
so this is a game where they should be able
to hopefully break that trend, because that's not.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
A good lifetime ago.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
COVID, you know, speaking of lifetimes ago as well. I mean,
this has been a place that's haunted this franchise from
the beginning of it. And they literally went from nineteen
seventy to the AFC Championship in the nineteen eighty five season,
which was early nineteen eighty six, so you know, sit
nearly sixteen years without a win down there in Miami.
So it's it's always been a challenge for this franchise
down there. That said, I think it's a great opportunity

(05:30):
for Drake Maye today. We've been waiting for him to,
you know, maybe have that signature game or at least
a signature comeback, or you know, just something to build
around today. And you know, once we get into the Keys,
I'll talk about that a little bit more. But I
think we can talk about the defense, we can talk
about everything, the heat, but bottom line, and Paul and
I talked about this all summer, it comes down to
this offense and starting to find a groove and getting

(05:50):
Drake may comfortable. And if that starts to happen, I
think that will Pad the result a little bit if
it doesn't go to the Patriots way or it could
help them get a win today.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yeah, two games for two or seven touchdowns, one pick
two against last year Art, So yeah, he lit them
up last year down down in Miami. So you know,
I know early on when he first started, uh you
know this streak, it was two and oh three and
oh and people are yeah, but he's not even doing
anything like they're playing it. It's just h well, you know,
now it's you know, last year it's like twenty nine

(06:20):
for forty four touchdowns, no picks. So he's he's been
pretty good. And you look at the scores of the
games and a lot of them really are not all
that close. Thirty one seventeen, I think it was with
thirty two to fifteen, thirty four to fifteen last year.
So again, what kind of motivation does Miami have if

(06:40):
someone could give me that, because I think that this
I got a hot one for you. Hot take just
wants to take development with friend. We're just gonna left
five my one. That was my fire. Someone's going to
win this game by multiple scores. Yeah, that's that's breaking.
Someone's going to win this game by two scores and more,
and I don't really feel this is going to be
a close game. I think if Miami shows out to play,

(07:00):
the Patriots are going to have a hard time. If
the Patriots can take advantage of Miami's vulnerability, the Dolphins
are going to have a tough time. But I don't
think it's going to come down to the last second
field goal. As much as I want Deuce's prediction, which
we'll get to later, the.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Angry team will win. Then it sounds like on your end, well,
you just set it up perfectly. Let's get into the
keys of the game.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
You've waited all week for the whole teams in the
locker room right now, just listening to this, waiting to
hear what you're going to say.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Here are this week's keys to the game.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
All right, Paul, you were talking about to us. I'll
let you take the key for this one.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
I think Tua, in large part is the key to
this game. And I think if you want to do
what you've been doing against him and sort of containing
him and you know, trying to take away his first
read and all that stuff, that's fine, but he's been
able to do it. I think you've got to get
after him. Yeah, I think you have to make him uncomfortable.
We all know about his concussion history, and I'm not
making light of that when I say this, but he's

(07:55):
he's not going to be wanting to hang in the
pocket and take extra hits. I know no quarterbacks want
to do that, but his concussion history is what it is.
So I thought Indianapolis had some success last week sort of,
you know, Xavi and Howard talking about, you know, muddling
the middle of the field, so you know, maybe try
some of that stuff, you know, you know, which is

(08:16):
a little bit of a departure of the way the
Patriots have been playing a little bit in terms of
a lot of zone I mean a lot of man
last week with a lot of blitzing. Maybe you get
a blitz in a different way this week, or maybe
just find a way, Mike to get after him with
that front four and get those edge guys. But I
think if you can get after Tua and get his
timing disrupted, then you can keep the score down. And

(08:37):
that's how the Patriots maybe for some mistake or too.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, just a couple of notes on this from the inactives.
You know, James Daniels and Austin Jackson. The right side
of their line starting last week was put on ir
this week, so they will have two new starters on
that side of the line, which you know, the Patriots
certainly looking to attack that with Harold Landry. But one
piece for the Patriots, key On White, popped up of
the injury report with the sickness this week in illness.
Not sure what that is, but he will not play.
So we'll see if maybe some of these young guys

(09:01):
maybe get a little bit of an opportunity, you know,
Elijah Ponder being that guy, probably the next man up.
Anthony Jennings as well, talk to him in the pocket.
But you know, Paul, I, when I watched that game
against Indianapolis, it was such a contrast between watching last
year's game against the Patriots, where it was just on
point like it often is with two against his Patriots team,
that he throws it to a tiny window and then

(09:21):
all of a sudden, Jayalen Wadell just zooms through, grabs
the ball and goes Last week they looked off to
I had confidence after the game. Now there's a lot
of factors, Like you said, there's team meetings going on.
It feels like they might be on the ropes a
little bit. There's injuries added to that as well. Does
that all add up to enough opportunity for the Patriots.
It's that's the huge question that we'll see in about
a half hour here or an hour or so.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Right, Yeah, well your key, ah, my key.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
So I'm going to stick on the offensive side of
the ball and you know, go with the old adage,
throw to score, run to win something. We talk about
here a lot. You know, we get away from establishing
the run. We get about, you know, get out there
and throw the ball on these guys. You know, I
just thought last week Indianapolis was pretty balanced. They weren't,
you know, a couple couple explosive plays here and there,
more so in the passing game.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
So uh again, it just comes down to Drake.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
You know.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
I think if this game, you know, were to be
close and and go against what's Paul saying in the
Patriots were to say, to lose thirty six thirty five,
and Drake has a few touchdowns and you feel like
the offense is starting to click, and you know, maybe
they just lose it at the end or something like that.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Be willing to swallow that.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Whereas if the offense continues to look kind of stagnant
and up and down, and then when we get into
crunch time they kind of wilt a little bit. That's
not what I want to see today. So come out throwing,
put some points on the board, and then try to
get that run game going, you know, with reminder Stevenson
and Traveon Henderson and even Antonio Gibson, who I think
you know always runs hard. So use those that that
you know formula to get the game and control and

(10:42):
to Paul's point, maybe encourage Miami that, hey, this.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Ain't going to go your way again this week. Maybe
you can start packing those golf clubs up early to
do that in football ball that's always a hockey thing.
Pack the book golf clubs up. If you get when
hockey's over, see Mike, when hockey's over for you, it's
usually like April and may even go out golf. Yeah,
it's like the middle of January. Where are you going
to go? Like Marty said, you're in Miami, Petrick Park

(11:07):
is out, You're going home.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
We're good at opposite.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
But I think your point about you know what the
Colts did last week. Yeah, they got a lot of
explosive plays in the patent. You know, Daniel Jones did
two hundred and seventy two yards or whatever it was,
and the running yards piled up, but it wasn't overly efficient.
But it just shows you the importance of just continuing
to pound away. And I think the Patriots didn't do
that in the first game. So maybe even if it's

(11:33):
not as successful as you might hope, you know, I think,
you know, listening to Josh McDaniels this week, I'd be
very surprised that they got that far out of balance. Again,
I think it was eighteen eighteen runs and I think
it was fifty three dropbacks counting the sacks and whatnot,
sacks and scrambles. So I think they would need to
run the ball a little bit. I mean, obviously they

(11:54):
need to run it better than they did last week,
regardless of how many times they try, but they need
to do it a little bit more often too.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
Yeah, and my key ties into kind of both of
yours it staying afloat. I had to get a water
pun in there. But to your point, Paul about the
Dolphins defense, and of course they want to come back
from this game as well, but they allowed one hundred
and fifty six rushing yards to the Colts in that
season opener, again against Daniel Jones. Okay, interesting.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
You everywhere the dress is a little darker blue.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
It actually matches the graphics, so I can make sure
you guys will have alleged any further. But to that point,
you know, the Patriots also struggle to establish that offense,
and that's exactly what we want to see. Drake may
need to establish to run early. The New England needs
to find that balance, stay consistent on offense. Like we
mentioned last week, the early, the slow, early game was
not it. And if you know that the Dolphins also

(12:50):
want this, when you're gonna need to ramp up the
offense as soon as possible. Stefan, get Diggs, get him
some more receptions, and you know, having that balance keep
Miami guessing because clearly if they had that terrible the
first game, then maybe you can keep them on your
toes by just throwing in some confusion.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Well, I think if there's one thing that I've learned
over the last couple of years of watching you know,
back to back four win seasons, it's how critical fast
starts are for teams, you know, teams trying to find
their way or teams that are struggling early in the season, teams.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Trying to find their way.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
And you know, that's a great way to get the
ball rolling, not only to start to build confidence on
your side of the ball, but to maybe start to
insert some doubt into the Dolphins. And you know, I'm
sure they've heard that they owned the Patriots down there
and two to seven and over it's the Patriots, and
you know, maybe that would help if if it starts
not going their way, that all right, Wow, we're really in.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Trouble down here.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
You know, that's what you're hoping and Paul's hammered it
all week that you know, Patriots get a good start
and really just establish themselves out of the gate.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
Yeah, and you said we're going to go behind a
enemy line soon. But you were talking about that game
versus Indy. What do you think the Dolphins are going
to have to do adjustment adjustment wise for this one?

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Well, I think they have to get after Drake Mang
You know that that would be my biggest thing, and
trying to find a way to do that. There's they're
banged up to in the secondary, they got a couple
of cornerbacks.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Who are also out cooking. Yeah, click queuing Paul up
for Storm Duck.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Uh but you know it looked that up. By the way,
it's his real name. Do is it short for something?
Storm at his name and.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
After a character in The Bold and the Beautiful. Oh wow,
being tune into the Preda show learned stuff.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
But I do think you know, when you look at
at the at the defensive front, you know Jaylen Phillips,
Zach Steeler who they just resigned to to a deal,
Chop Robinson, young guy in his second year's got some
juice as well. Played well last year against the page
h Bradley Chubb. You know see how his injuries stack up.
But you know, even Kenneth Grant, big body on the
inside from Michigan that.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
I mean, they're missing a lot. You know, Mike talked
about the offensive line and his keys. You're talking about
Storm Duck in the secondary being banged out. They have
some good players in the front seven, and if Miami's
going to have a bounce back defensive performance, it likely
will be because of those guys that Mike just mentioned.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
And on the opposite end with the Patriots. You guys
were in the locker room, you're you know Mike Rabel,
we heard him speaking and the accountability that's being had
within this Patriots locker room. What are you hoping that
those messages throughout the week will mean at Hard Rocks.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
I just want to make sure that, you know, they
stay on point and don't get discouraged, because when you're
a team that hasn't won a lot, it's very easy.
And we've talked a lot about it with Miami. You know,
Patriots get a lead, you know, you know, maybe Miami
continues to say, well, it's not happening this year and
just make it easy for you. The same could be

(15:32):
said for Miami right now. They're in their locker room saying,
we beat these guys seven times in a row without
as long as we have our quarterback. So let's make
sure we get a lead on them and have them
continuing to question whether or not they're as improved as
they thought they were. So I just think stay on message,
and you know, Mike Rabel keeps hammering the point of

(15:54):
got to eliminate the stuff that get you beat. They
made too many of those things that get you beat
last week, they got to cut back and make sure
that Miami earns it. Yeah, one guy, you know, one
thing I'll be looking at today too, is Christian Ellis
and Robert Splain in the middle of the defense. I thought,
you know, last week there was some space inside our
colleague Evian lizz are talking a lot about taking away
the middle of the field. This week, Robert Splaine Christian Ellis,

(16:16):
two guys who can run pretty well. Do they have
a beat onto it? This is a different look.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
At the second level defensively for the Patriots, going against
to a tongue of I Lois. So does it make
a difference this week? Does this aggressive style get him
out of his early down rhythm. I think that's one
thing that stood out from that game last year was
that he was comfortable and he's gonna find his receivers
when he's comfortable. So get him uncomfortable, get him off
his first read, and hopefully good things happen for the
Patriots defense.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Absolutely. Do we want to take a call before we
go out behind enemy lines real quick. We'll see. Let's
see how Daniel and Maryland is doing. Good morning, Daniel, Daniel,
are you with us still? Daniel I'm sorry, Daniel, call back.
Please be there. Patty's always here, Patty, how are you doing?

Speaker 7 (17:03):
Yeah, I'm always here.

Speaker 8 (17:04):
What's going on? And gentlemen, good morning?

Speaker 2 (17:07):
How are things out? Nagaan?

Speaker 8 (17:11):
Nice, very nice day, had a nice breakfast, and I'm
hopefully getting ready to watch him win.

Speaker 7 (17:17):
Before I start th I.

Speaker 9 (17:18):
Gotta give a couple of quick shout outs.

Speaker 8 (17:20):
First one is the chest from Portland. Great to hear
you on Thursday, Buddy, keep calling in. We love the energy.
And the shout out of the week goes to mister
Paul Parrillo.

Speaker 7 (17:29):
Polly, what did I do with one year old?

Speaker 8 (17:33):
I worked with one of your old friends this past week,
a gentleman by the name of Jimmy Parati. He told
me to tell you to say.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Hello Jimmy Parati. Yeah, absolutely cooler Jimmy Parati. Does he
do karate? No? Jimmy Parati. Good kid, good kid. I
haven't seen him in about thirty years, but good good guy.
Played a lot of football games with Jimmy.

Speaker 8 (17:58):
So my two questions for the day are we you
know we saw during training camp in the preseason that
break may come out, have a bad day and come
back the next day. And kind of turn it around.
Do we see that? And just in terms of covering
Tyreek Hill, do you think they stick Marcus Stones on
him with help over the top and I'll take it

(18:19):
off there, guys.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Thank you. It's a good question. I think whatever the
plan is is going to be help. They're not gonna
let one single guy handle Tyreek Hill. I mean, but
with Wattle too. I mean, there's just there's no easy
way to say it.

Speaker 5 (18:35):
You know.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Yeah, you know Carlon Davis, I really like him as
a physical man corner, but if he's stuck chasing slants,
he's going to be in trouble. So, you know, I
am interested to see kind of the defensive plan that
they come up with, if they do spin it up
a little bit. I think indeed, I just think Indie's
gonna be his own defense. But they play like eighty
percent zone last week. I just I don't know if
that's the answer. I really don't, But it wouldn't totally

(18:56):
surprise me to see them come out and lean a
little bit more into that without eisting Gonzalez and you know,
not really having quite all the matchup pieces.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
But so I'll tell you something that would worry me
with Marcus Jones and Tyreek Hill. Not so much the speed.
But you know, Tyreek Hill is not a big guy,
but he's a really good contested catch guy. They throw
the ball up to him down the field and if
you don't have size, he's going to jump over you
and catch it. I've seen him do it before. He

(19:24):
did it last year to him, I believe. But that
would worry me with Marcus Jones because of his size.
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
That.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
I mean, Tyreek kill is a different animal. Yeah, I
mean this just kind of dawned on me.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
But is this the first time and maybe he was
injured at some point, but is this the first time
the Patriots have faced Tyreek Hill without Jonathan Jones. I
mean I remember him famously being on him in like
seventeen eighteen. I mean, I'm not sure he probably the
kind of game or two maybe that John Jones was out,
but just a different, unique challenge. And heard the stat
this week that Tyreek hasn't had a thirty yard pass,

(19:59):
you know, caught a thirty yard pass and over a year.
That's something the Patriots will need to try to continue.
Giving up nine x plays. They call him ex plays
last week. But I don't know if you noticed that
it's short for explosives. I've never heard that before.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
I made fun of that a lot. Obviously weren't paying
attention to me coming out of the locker. And I
don't know if you guys remember, like last week we're
on the pro same show. Everyone's like, yeah, X places.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
He's like, I'm like everyone's talking about He's like, they've
been known about this all the time, right, so ball.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
I appreciate Mike writing it out today.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Being like for explosive, but they also, you know, had
a nineteen yard play too, so ten plays that were
big chunk plays, especially coming down near the end in
critical situation. So there's no question it's a very very
narrow route to victory if you're going to give up
big plays like that to this team. And you talk
about getting a good start and not letting the Dolphins
get confidence. One way they're going to get confidence is

(20:47):
if they get Tyreek Hill going with a big play
early on.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Then they're like, see last week is an anomaly, all
this talk. We're back. Let's roll. So kept containing him
as a huge key as all.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
I'll let him get any X plays and if you
want to call in by the way, five hundred. Excuse me,
Christian in La. Good morning, Hey you.

Speaker 9 (21:09):
Guys, Good morning, Good football Sunday. See ye, Christian, I'm
not so worried this, and I know I'm kind of
the opposite of everybody else. We've not beaten the Fittings,
We've not had a good time down there. We don't
have Dons and Jones, our fast guy to match up.
But I kind of see something happening with us. I
see this front that we had, which is different than

(21:30):
any front that we've had when we face Miami with
Milton william and some of the with Withplane. So I'm
really looking for us early to get after tours, knock
them off his rhythm and and be able to stop
these these short mid cuts that we don't seem to
be able to stop. If we can get up on
these guys at least seven points early, I think we

(21:53):
can discourage them because they're the ones falling apart. So
usually I would be really critical on us and what
we've done last week, what I see us not being
able to do, But I really I woke up with
a crazy feeling today we are gonna beat the fish
and it's going to be the turnaround for the season.
Just start being critical. But I do think we're gonna
win today.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
All right, that's just crazy thoughts. We're gonna win. Baby,
say exactly what everybody said all week, Miami, We thank
you all.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
Right, DeShawn is in Virginia. What do you have to
say to shan Oh?

Speaker 8 (22:25):
God, all you got doing good?

Speaker 9 (22:28):
Good?

Speaker 10 (22:29):
You know what's stop from? Like like paces paper can
talk about like what the coats and stuff did last week,
but we can make a catch to the coast have
a much better team. I mean, the blocks actually worked
much better because they might have better players to actually
sue what they did to Miami, unlike what the Patriots
may have. I talked about what the Bucks stay at
toime for years, Like like some teams like they have

(22:50):
enough talent around to make even bad quarterbacks look good,
you know, even though it's not sustainable with our team,
Someone's had to happen order for things to the work.

Speaker 8 (22:59):
That's just my look on it.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Yeah, I mean, look, my opinion is that certain games
just unfold in a certain way and it becomes a
unique kind of game that you're like, that's not going
to be how it goes all year for this team.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
And you know, look, the Colts scored on every single
possession they had.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
The Colts turned it over on their first two, so
like before you look up, they're down by three plus scores.
Just changes the whole dynamic of the game. And I
think that's part of the reason why Tua was kind
of like not really that faced by it. Now we'll see,
I mean, maybe it can become a trend.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
But they played so badly the game. The Colts were
just flawless.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Daniel Jones was on, Sorry Kuanya to watch it, you know,
so it's it's a kind of a one off to me.
And you know, I've seen Patriots teams in the past
where I watched games have been like, you know, they're
they're not that good, but like this wasn't They're better
than this.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
I'm with you. You know, it's if Tua turns the
ball over three times in the first full possessions, the
Patriots are going to make them look the Dolphins look
exactly the way the Colts made them look. You know,
that's just the way it goes. I think Indianapolis is
sort of an intriguing roster. I do think they have
some players. But did anybody think that the Colts were

(24:05):
significantly more talented than the Patriots going into last week? All?

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Or?

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Is that just last week the Colts put, you know,
a beatdown on Miami and the Patriots lose at home
to a thoroughly average at best Raiders team, and now
all of a sudden, the Colts are significantly more talented.
I like I said, I think the Colts have some
intriguing talent. If Daniel Jones can you know, this isn't
the Colt pregame show. If Daniel Jones can play at

(24:31):
a level approaching what he did last week, Yeah, I
mean that's a maybe eight, nine to ten win team
that could sniff around the playoffs. Sure, but I don't
think anybody looked at them as like this really talented
roster that was a quarterback away heading into the season.
Now maybe that's changed. Who knows.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
All Right, we have calls coming in, but I want
to get to one of the emails that we just
got from Jeremiah. He says, do you think we'll see Diggs, Boute,
and Hollins start the game so that may can have
some big targets to help him deal with the accuracy
that he's trying to get into.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Not really.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
I mean I kind of see Hollins and Booty kind
of playing the same role a little bit, so I
might see Pop Douglas in there, but I'm not sure
exactly what their roll out to begin with. I mean,
it could easily just as easily be two tight ends
with Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper. But but those are
the guys. I mean, there's you know, there's no etht chism.
I mean, everybody you're kind of talking about, They're all
gonna play. I don't know who's going out first, who's
gonna play the most. We'll see how the game unfolds.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Yeah, I'm with Mike. You know, maybe you get a
little Kyle Williams at some point. But yeah, the one
thing you know today it was with Jeremiah. I think,
you know what, Hollins is very versatile. He can play
all three spots, so if he wanted to try to
and I understand what he's thinking. You know, when when
Drake is coming out ad bittedly, a little bit hyped
and maybe a little high with some of his throws,

(25:50):
if you throw Hollinds in the slot for Douglas does
that give him a little bit of a bigger target.
So it's basically Holland's over Douglas. It's not anything to
do with Booty or or Diggs, who are both sort
of average sized. Anyway, Hollins is big. Yeah, Hollins is
a bigger target and he can play even though he's bigger.
I know you think of slot guys as you know,
the small, shifty guys, but Hollinds can play in the slot.

(26:13):
I think he's better shuited to the outside. I would
be surprised them with Mike. I think they go with
their regular three guys that we've seen almost all summer,
every pretty much every time that they open up a
team period, it's Digs, Booty, Douglas.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
You actually teed up our next email. You can also
email us at podcasts with an at Patriots dot com.
This one is from Aaron in North Wales. He says,
I've heard a lot of talk on Twitter or x
if you call it that that the fans want more
Kyle Williams and less mccollins. I'm on the opposite side
of this today anyway. Miami Secondary is hardly the tallest

(26:49):
Holland's height. I think it could cause huge problems for
them with the deep contested balls. What do you two thinks,
Williams or Hollands.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
I go back to the theme at the top of
the show. I'm patient with Kyle Williams right now.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
I mean just you know, very limited action and he's
had a couple of snaps toward the end of the game.
Often how it goes for rookie receivers. We've seen, you know,
little flashes here and there, but you know, hasn't been
overwhelming from him so far. So I think we just
need to, you know, accept that mac Hollins has been
in this offense before. He has an element of size
that the other receivers don't have, like Paul pointed out.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
So I was.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Surprised last week that he wasn't a little bit more
involved because all summer long, when he's in there, Drake's
looking his way, fades down the sideline, a couple of
big plays in Minnesota that he was looking for him.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
So maybe look for him to get a little bit
more involved in Yeah, there were a lot of things
to be disappointed about offensively in the opener, and I
think Hollins is sort of invisibility was at or near
the top of the lists. Yeah, because of what Mike said,
he had seemed to be a guy that they were
going to work in a handful of plays. You know, Mike,

(27:54):
as soon as the Patriots got sort of like around
the twenty five yard line, here comes to, you know,
a deep fade to Holland's and no, no.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
And I'd say too part of the getting him involved.
I think he has good energy, and you know, I
think when he starts playing well and starts feeling it,
guys can kind of feed off that energy. You know,
he famously in Minnesota punted a ball into the stands
after scoring a touchdown after you know, kind of a
rough start for the Patriots offense, and you know that
gave them a little bit of a spark.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
So I do think that he's the kind of guy
that maybe can bring that spark here in this game
if you get him involved.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Yeah, I'm gonna get to one more email. We have
Mike in South Carolina. The headline for that one Dolphins
are a dumpster fire. So he says that I hope
the film study in heavy last week from Indy, I know,
playing down at hard Rock has been the Pats Achilles
heels for the past three or four seasons. But that
being said, Miami is a dumpster fire with McDaniel probably
on the way out. Okay, guys, it's game one. I

(28:45):
would like to see the Pats eliminate the penalties and
mental eras from week one, of course, and I agree
with Paul. Lots of points in this one. Big win
for the Pats forty two to ten.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
See, that's that's It's gonna be a tough day for him.
If if the Dolphins kicking the gear and they play
with predicted forty too much? Whoa too much? Sometimes I
agree with Paul.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
And I don't think that sounds I think the fire
McDaniel banner is going over.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
It is and look, and this is the NFL, and
Paul and I talked about it this week. This is
what we love. You know, it's two week but this
is why the league is so popular. You know, it's
so easy to gamble on because it's it's once a
week and everything that happens on Sunday gets dissected and
analyzed that nauseum for a whole week. And so they
play again, you know, and that's and that's why it

(29:34):
makes it the best in the worst.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Well, this game today, I just I don't think there's
gonna be much gray area I said during the week. Yeah,
maybe they'll be kind of a weird game that unfolds
and some strange things will happen, and you know, you'll
kind of put up to that. But generally speaking, and
you know, even in line with what Paul said, you know,
it's either going to be the sky is completely falling
in New England or they've completely turned it around. So
you know that'll be the overreaction in either way, and

(29:57):
that's what the fun of it is. But I just
don't agree that. I'm not putting the Dolphins final nail
on their coffin.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
They're dead. They're not even gonna roll out here today.
I gotta I think they're gonna believe it.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
Yeah, I'm with you one hundred pcent. All right, let's
say get back to the phone lines eight five five

You know, his run and I think he'll want to win.

Speaker 2 (30:32):

so sorry about that.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
He gets a lead off the next segment.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Good morning, right afternoon, y'all. Oh, it is afternoon.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
You're right, it is.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
It is.

Speaker 10 (34:04):
It's morning for me, but afternoons for you guys.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
You know.

Speaker 7 (34:06):
But anyways, you know, it's hard not to overreact to
a week one loss when you know you have such
high hope for the team and everything like that. But
I was actually really encouraged by Drake and how well
he played, especially in the first half, the command he had,
and you know, just my personal thoughts. If thirty for
forty six for two hundred and ninety yards is a

(34:29):
bad game by our standards, then you know, I can't
wait to see his good game.

Speaker 9 (34:32):
They really just came down to a few plays.

Speaker 7 (34:34):
So I got a lot of confidence in our defense
and was looking forward to the to the game today
and thank you guys for everything you do, and have
a good rest of to day, go past.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Thank you, go bad. Appreciate it. I love the positivity.
I love he must love Gardner Minshew. If that, if
that was a good performance, yeah, I mean, I'm willing
to do that week two. I like that. I like
Ryan's call. I don't agree, as you know, Mike, because
you know, we did a whole week's worth of show.

(35:04):
It's like, not necessarily and I say, and I agree
with the evaluation of the first game, but let's not
just say, oh, what's changed. It's the same guy, It's
the same thing. And like he hasn't he's regressed, which
I heard a lot of this week. Let's kind of
relax and let it unfold for a few weeks. And

(35:25):
you know, if we're in the middle of October and
we're wondering where the points are, then I think it's
time to sort of say, like, has he progressed? But
like one game where he was a little uneven, Like
I don't think he was as good in the first
half as some people are making him out to be.
And I don't think he was as bad in the
second half as some people are making him out to be.
He's got a ways to go. Yeah, and I'm willing

(35:46):
to write it out a little bit see how it goes.
I like the positivity of that call.

Speaker 8 (35:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Unlike me, I'm usually worried about it, Michael. I'm like
the typical New England guy. I always think something bad
is going to happen right around the corner. You're like, oh,
I guess I should have been worried about that. Yeah. Yeah,
I don't know why I wasn't worried about that, but
I am now now I am.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
I would just say on Drake though, it's uh, you know,
you just got to watch the easy throws and I
think that was the big topic this week of you know,
getting off to a good start again. You know, he
got an easy, easy completion to make to pop Dougles
make the throw, and he's capable of all those things.
It's just, you know, you're dealing with a whole different
animal now where you know past quarterbacks you had post
Tom Brady here it was you know, wondering if he
could do it, if he had the athletic juice to

(36:28):
actually you know, get the ball there, or you know
you knew he wasn't really going to be able to scramble.
And now with Drake, you know, he's got all the tools,
So a little bit of patience with him, but there's
no question he's got to take the layups and be
able to hit those.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
I love his aggressiveness down the field. I'd like to
see more.

Speaker 7 (36:41):
The more.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
I don't know if the Raiders, you know, the way
the Raiders played last year last week with that Seattle
system and you know, keeping everything in front of them,
if that was conducive to Drake playing that way. But
I've always been impressed with his ability to chuck the
ball down the field and Booty's there and Holland, so
maybe that makes some big plays.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Today we're going to get to some more calls and
emails and just the second. But first let's talk about confidence.

(37:41):
we're gonna take it back to the phone lines. Brad
is in California. Brad, what do you have to say?

Speaker 11 (37:47):
Hey, I was wondering because you guys had mentioned you'd
still be kind of positive if they came out with
a loss, but it was sort of similar to the
Jet Steelers type situations where they put up a lot
of point but they couldn't get it done in the end.
Would you still feel that same way if it came
as a consequence to Drake maybe putting up a bunch

(38:10):
of touchdowns but also getting two three picks to go along.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Oh no, no, no, that wouldn't be a good offensive performance. Yeah. Yeah,
But like, Brad, how about this one, Because Mike and
I have actually talked about this a little. We gamed
it out. Yeah, if it's if it's one of those
let's say they're down, you know, they're down four, yeah,
down thirty one to twenty seven, with you know, three

(38:33):
minutes left in the game. Drake May takes over, it
takes him down the field. They score a touchdown with
like a minute left, you know, to go ahead, you know,
I don't know, thirty four to thirty one, and then
Miami goes down the last minute and scores. You know,
I think you could look at that and say, all right,
maybe we're just not quite ready to win these games yet.

(38:55):
You know, get a lot of new guys, a lot
of young guys. But our quarterback to a huge step
forward today, and our offense took a huge step forward today.
We went from thirteen points to thirty four points on
the road in a place that we haven't played well.
I think you could take a lot of positives from that. Now,
that's a very specific sort of hypothetical. Yeah right, all right,

(39:15):
but yeah, if they turn the ball over four times
and find a way to score that many points, it
probably was because the other team turned the ball over too,
and you didn't really play as well offensively as you should.
Eliminate the stuff that gets you beat, right, Mike Brabel's mantra.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
That's it, Thanks Brad. All right, so we have another email.
Let's talk about offense a little bit more. The subject
line repeat Booty performance. Good afternoon, guys. Do you think
Booty can repeat his performance last week? Considering he's probably
going to be matched up against Doc Jones. Yes, this
is on purpose. I think he will, Thank you, Kyle
from Pembroke.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Well, I just shure Jack Jones. I mean, I think
Jack Jones is probably their best corner right now, right,
wouldn't he get Diggs? Yeah? I mean yeah, he's a wildcard,
though We'll see. You never know, you never know what
either one of those guys. I would look to exploit
Jack Jones's aggressiveness. Sure, does that make sense? You know,
line someone up for a double move for him, whether

(40:12):
it's Booty or Diggs, I don't care. That will move
on him. Yeah, Mac Collins, maybe getting him a little
antagon I stick. I'd like that too.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
Uh, But I would just say this, Keyshaw body had
one hundred yard game last game of last season and
in the first game of this season, so technically he
has kind of done it in back to back weeks.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Uh, I don't know if you can necessarily count on
that or expect that.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
What stretch two in a row, Paul, here's where we're at.
But I'd love to see Digs get involved. I'd love
to see a little bit more of the connection with
Pop Douglas that we saw over the summer, that that
felt a little bit like they weren't quite clicking with
Drake there in the first game. But uh, we talked
a lot about these guys, those four receivers. We've seen
moments from all of them. Be cool to see them

(40:54):
be able to put it together. I just I don't
think I would bet on Booty weekend week out. I
think he's going to have his game and he's gonna
have his moments, But I think it's going to be
up to guys like Digs and Douglas to be the
real engines who make the majority of the catch up.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Now, due would you expect to see maybe a little
bit more out of Digs? Do you think maybe he
got he got his feet wet last week? He looked comfortable,
you know, he was he was good. I thought it was,
you know, considering he's coming off of twenty a c. Yeah, absolutely.
I thought that was a good and playing on the
rain with a good starting performance, would you expect more?
I hope absolutely, I hope so yeah. I mean I

(41:28):
hard to have expectations, but I hope it is hard
to have expect Ask me questions, and I'm like them
to to me like the guy that wrote in with
the whole three receiver set, maybe get Hollins out there
instead of anybody can sell me on anything? Right now?

Speaker 4 (41:45):
All right, before we get to the over unders, I
wanted to read this from Dan and Virginia, mainly because
he welcomed me to the show and he's very kind.
But he started with good day social leaders. But the
question at the end is if the Patriots loose today,
would your concern about the result I'll be lessened because
the Patriots always struggle in Miami, or is it just
an excuse making overall, especially how the don have.

Speaker 5 (42:08):
To make.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Trademark.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
I have to see to see see how it looks.
Don't ask me to make a prediction on how I'm
gonna feel.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
But if it looks the same as all the other
losses down there, I'm not going to sit there.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
And so that's the why they all know well, and
then even though they have it's hard to like pin
it all on that because a lot of those losses,
like you know, the fail may or the gronk.

Speaker 2 (42:29):
You know, like the end of the game, like there's
it's not like at least say that was a fluke
they lost like that, I can say, Okay, they were
the better team, to say they lost on a fluke. Yeah,
and they've gotten smoked down there too, But you know,
I just I don't put.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Too much into that, Like I think there are no
excuses for heat or for locations. You got to win
a game at some point, and you know, no disrespect
to Buffalo, but like in many ways, I see this
as their hardest divisional game of the year, and the
road to the playoffs for me goes through the division.
So you know, they've caught Buffalo a couple of times
over the years. Granted you might have needed a giant
storm to do it, but.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
They've beaten Buffalo more time since Brady left than Miami exactly.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
And you've seen him at least play better up there,
you know, a couple of years ago, returning the opening kickoff,
and so you've seen some good production there. But in
recent years down here, it's just it's and even up
here a lot of times against to us. The results
show they just don't have the answers for him.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
So I don't want to get anybody bummed out, but
there are they are predicting thunderstorms this afternoon in Miami. Yeah, meteor,
my kid game, no rate. See some of those college games, yes,
they were like two plus hour delays.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
Oh man, I didn't go up to a Hope, to
a restaurant, Pati your place, you know, get a drink something.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
All right, let's drink before the postcard.

Speaker 4 (43:37):
We're gonna get wasted, all right. So over under is
let's get into them. Drake may passing yards. I know
that our statisician here, Paul Parilla, is going to keep
track of everything for me. Two hundred and thirty point five, all.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
Right, So just to recap here, Yeah, last week, oh yeah,
tell us, tell us the newby, the newby. The Newby
led the way at four and two, follow by Mike
and I in three.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
I'm honored my head.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
Yeah, Paul, you did, I fixed it for Yeah, your
stats are it was actually not it was not Morrel's fault.
It was it was the other Matt, we have like
three Drake May thirty and a half. I'm taking the
over on that, baby.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
I did that, actually picked all my picks ahead of
time now, so I also took the over all.

Speaker 2 (44:24):
Right, I'm going to keep it. I'm going to keep
the drake positively going for three.

Speaker 4 (44:28):
I love that, all right.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
You can look at that both ways. You can find
a way to look at it positively or negatively. All
you have to do. All you need to do is
ask me. I'll find a way to argue either side.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
My class is half full or empty, depends on how
you want to look at it, all right to uh,
two hundred and forty and a half, m.

Speaker 2 (44:46):
I guess that's your corny too. Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (44:48):
Also, you're sneaking it right. I'm gonna go over.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
You can go over.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
Why not? Everyone's gonna have it bet.

Speaker 8 (44:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
I can't be against Tua. I mean, there's a big
part of me that wants to say he's done right,
but I can't do it yet. I'm gonna go over
to forty.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
Yeah, I'm taking over as well. Find it interesting that
the the number is slightly higher for two with them Drake.

Speaker 4 (45:07):
Just slightly. Are we all agreeing already.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I love this right? How dare they? Is it disrespect?

Speaker 6 (45:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
Okay, next up, we have to rekill receiving yards seventy
and a half. I am taking under on that one.
Oh you, Paul.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
I'm going to go under on that as well because
I have Tyreek Hill on my fantasy team, which means
he'll go under.

Speaker 4 (45:27):
Of course that's usually how it works.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
You don't want to make this one interesting, guys. I
went over on to somebody's got to catch the passes.
I'm going to go Tyreek over seventy points. Fine, and
I'm rooting for Paul's fantasy team too.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
We have to refuse.

Speaker 2 (45:41):
Oh thank you?

Speaker 4 (45:42):
Someone did?

Speaker 2 (45:43):
I lost the game last week? I had a ninety
chance of winning.

Speaker 4 (45:46):
Oh yikes.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
Okay, heading into the Sunday night game.

Speaker 10 (45:50):
Not good.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
Ramondo Stevenson rushing yards forty and a half.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
I guess back as you ill drag them the snake,
I think stretch all right, Well, I'm going to take
the over on that. I think the Patriots will have
more of a emphasis on running the ball, and he'll
get more than seven carries, so I think over forty
and a half yards.

Speaker 4 (46:13):
Well, I do hope that they run the ball more.
I'm gonna take an under for him specifically, Sorry, Ramandre.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
Yeah, I see it as a committee today, and I'm
gonna go with Travon Henderson being the guy who gets
maybe a little bit more of the touches in the yardist.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
I'm gonna go under that for Ramandre. Wow.

Speaker 4 (46:30):
All right, next up, longest touchdown yards it's at thirty
three and a half. No boy, big place, Yeah, X place.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
I guess that's you.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
First, I explays, as we've learned over over, I want
X plays, oh boy, big plays, you know. I want
to see Drake opening up a little bit. I think
two is you know, pretty good at these. And I
know it's been a while for Tyreek with a big
touchdown like this, But I'm going to go over.

Speaker 4 (46:56):
To Okay, I'm going to take the under, ardy pooper.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
He's going game theory now exactly all right.

Speaker 4 (47:08):
It's like I offset the last one total score forty
three and a half.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
Uh, I guess that's as I mean first, Yeah, you
do it. Yeah, I'm gonna go over, go over, not
much over, but I'm going over.

Speaker 4 (47:20):
I'm going over as well.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
I'm gonna take the under. You're right, one of these
teams is not going to score very much today. I
think it's hard to get the over. Don't know by yourself.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
That's fair. You do have to stick to me. We
don't know what you're consistent though, you're consistent with what
you're saying.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
You appreciate that I have definitively picked this game both ways.

Speaker 3 (47:42):
Well, it's gonna be fun watching it with you as
it unfolds, because you're gonna know some team's gonna score
on your.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
Guys Patriots blood and he's gonna counter and you'll be like,
maybe not.

Speaker 4 (47:51):
We'll see, we'll see. All right, let's get into the
Sunday six back.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
This is this Sunday six back, So kick back and
listen my position. I'm getting to get the.

Speaker 5 (48:04):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (48:05):
This is Sunday six al right, the Sunday six pack.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
That was a jam, all right.

Speaker 4 (48:10):
Of course they did start with Giants at Cowboys Dallas
under four point five?

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Who were you guys? I go first on this one,
all right. This is how we're gonna do it. Paul's
gonna go first. Okay, we're gonna go first.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
Then I'll go first, then we'll go back I's gonna
go keep it easy for you guys.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Oh what happened last week? So what happened was what happened?
What had happened was no one was very good last week.
I was the worst Kwannie and Mike three and three,
followed by Paul in the basement. So we were meetings.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
Yeah, perfectly, all of us trash. We got to do better.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
As well. Didn't get any of them. There you go.
I was really close to a lot of where Yeah,
I didn't win any of them. This makes me a loser.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
That's the last.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
You're gonna go first. I'm gonna go first. I'm going
to take the Cowboys at home to to take care
of the Giants, the offensively challenged Giants. That is a
very by four and a half more.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
Than Okay, I'm gonna actually just take the Giants for
this whole. A lot of Patriots fans, are you sat
with me being But for the record, I've lived in
New England for so long that I think I'm just
a Giants fan to say it. At this point, I
know more.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
About they take the Super Bowls from the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
I know that is true. True. I'm I'm gonna go
with Polly no offense.

Speaker 4 (49:38):
I'm gonna go with not offended. All right. Up next,
we have Seattle at Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
Are you Europe I'm gonna by three Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (49:50):
I'm taking the Steelers. Oh yeah, sorry, I'm just bumbled
on talking about what the Corners got pit.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
Yeah, that's a little bit of a tough one here.
The Super Bowl remash two thousand and five. You know,
I'm gonna go Pittsburgh too.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
Out of the same players, schemes, same coaching. I really
like what Bill Cowers doing the secondary I'm going to take.
I'm going to take the Steelers as well. Am I
believing there might be some change in Aaron Rodgers. I mean,
like like emotionally, like he sort of ingratiated himself with

(50:28):
his teammates as opposed to, you know, lording over his
teammates like he tried to do with the jes wait,
jes wait, Yeah, I will tell I'll tell you what
I'm not necessarily a believer in is the performance. I
know it was four touchdowns and everything looked great, but
watching like the highlights and stuff and good good stuff
from Arthur Smith, but I don't think he played as

(50:50):
well in the game, as those stats would indicate. I
think he was, you know, sort of didn't move well
in the pocket. They dialed up some plays that caught
the Jets and they took advantage of them. But I
mean it is what it is. Thirty four points is
a good performance.

Speaker 4 (51:05):
Yeah, that is a spoof one, especially because he was
playing his former team and you knew the bad blood
that was there. So this is the second week in
a row that Minitai a swift reference. And I catch
myself after I make the reference, and I promise I'm
not a swift tea.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
Yeah, missed the all season play by crap, A lot
of bad blood exactly.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Everyone. Yeah, so up next the rest of the schedules,
just a blank space.

Speaker 4 (51:28):
Well done. I think we're all swifty. Secretly, it sounds like,
all right, Buffalo Bills at the New York Jets. Buffalo
six and a half.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Yeah, a lot of points, has a lot of points.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
You know, Buffalo is there gonna be emotional letdown after that?
You know what, I'm going to say, No, And I
know that maybe it goes against history and it is
the divisional game, but I'm going to go with Buffalo
in this one.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
I think they I think they win by about eight
or nine points.

Speaker 4 (51:53):
I think that's rationally bounce back game. I'm with Buffalo.
I have Buffalo chosen as well.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
Yeah, I'm going to take the points with exactly what
Mike said. You know, I think Buffalo wins the game,
but I think Jets keep it close. Division game at home.
I think they'll keep it close.

Speaker 4 (52:08):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
Cool, all right.

Speaker 4 (52:10):
The four PM games, we have Carolina Panthers at the
Arizona Cardinals. Arizona with six and a half waits for
that one nes.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Back to you, Paul. I'm gonna take Arizona. I'll lay
the points. I think the Cardinals are going to be
a sneaky competitive team that has a chance to steal
a wild card in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (52:30):
It's a good one. I also have the Cardinals and also,
I just don't I don't know, Carolina is not looking
yeah right now, and then we.

Speaker 2 (52:38):
Got them coming up in a couple of weeks, right,
is that?

Speaker 6 (52:40):
So?

Speaker 3 (52:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with you guys to
Panthers get off to a rough start.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Cardinals, Okay.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
Up next, we have the Atlanta Falcons at the Minnesota
Vike Gings Minnesota with three and a half.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Oh boy, this is a good game. Yeah, this is
a good game.

Speaker 4 (52:57):
It is a good game. I picked Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
You're up really with one. He's got Atlanta. Yeah, Atlanta.

Speaker 4 (53:02):
I think they I don't know, you know, so J. J.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
McCarthy just had a baby this week. Well not a
lot of sleep, but I still corrected. We didn't know.

Speaker 3 (53:15):
I still I like what they did last week, and
I think they got some good energy. Said this week,
I was a little jealous of the energy they got
and and you know, I think it's going to be
good for them.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
Uh, they're at home. I do like Falcons have some talent.
But I'm gonna go with Minnesota. Yeah, I'm going to
take Atlanta at l kind of an emotional win Monday
night road short week. The stuff that you talked about
only adds to that. With JJ McCarthy, maybe the Vikings
win the game because Atlanta finds a way to Atlanta

(53:45):
and they just lose at the end. But I'll take
the hook and I'll say they lose by a field
goal reference.

Speaker 4 (53:51):
Yeah, that was a nice verb English lesson.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
That Stonewall. I'm not the one that made a minor
fortune on the misfortune of the three.

Speaker 4 (54:05):
You know that is no small business.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
That's well. No, I had that twenty eight three shirt
that was mine, That was you know, twenty eight to
three thing, that was Mike's idea.

Speaker 4 (54:14):
Real, do you get a manager?

Speaker 2 (54:17):
I could have used one back in twenty seventeen. Not
those days.

Speaker 4 (54:19):
Those days are there's those all them outside of ten
guard And I think you can get a cut from that.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
Ripoffs, all right, ripoffs? I want what are we doing?
If you want the original, I'll go to pass propaganda.
You can get one there.

Speaker 4 (54:31):
Okay, propaganda. That's the real one though. Og right here,
all right, Last, but not least, of course, New England
Patriots at the Miami Dolphins. Miami with one and a
half points.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
Who's up me? Shoot? All right? I gotta lay the
gunte that. Yeah. So I came up with like a
crazy game game. I want your game to come so bad,
I want to come true.

Speaker 3 (54:52):
And I just saw that up twenty one fourteen. At
the end of the game, Drake leads to drive. They
tie it up.

Speaker 2 (54:58):
It's twenty one twenty.

Speaker 11 (54:59):
What do we do?

Speaker 2 (55:00):
Mike Frable gets aggressive.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
He goes for the two point conversion and they get
it with Drake May holds the ball for a second,
rolls a little bit right, fires a blast right back
to mac Hollins' two point conversion. Patriots win, huge win.
They storm the field, cats and dogs moving together. There'll beia,
mass hysteria, literal cats and dogs carried away with that

(55:24):
game prediction. But I like the Patriots somehow to pull
this one out. But I think it's I think it's
gonna be a tough one, So I'll take the Pats.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
I didn't have a dramatic ending, but I'm taking the
Pats as well. I like yours, so I'm just gonna
co sign.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
Yeah. So I'm gonna be fully upfront with everybody. I
am the ultimate fraud this week. I am all over
the map when this game. You guys, if you listened
on Thursday, I took Miami. If you listened on the
TV show but all Access and Patriots on TV, I
took Miami. I'm taking the Patriots today. I just think

(55:57):
as the week is continue to progress, I am just
not believing that Miami is focused and ready to play.
I think that they're on the verge of completely and
utterly quitting on their coach, and I think that's enough
to get by down there. If everything were equal, I
think Miami would win the game. But I'm being a fraud,
absolute fraud, and I'm taking my I'm taking the Patriots

(56:20):
to snap this streak and I'm going to go twenty
seven sixteen New England.

Speaker 4 (56:24):
That was an emotional rollercoaster of you explaining your answer.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
Because I'm being I'm telling you, I'm being disingenuous in it.
I picked them all, I picked I picked this game
both ways. And when the game is over, I'm going
to say, see.

Speaker 9 (56:37):
What we need to do.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
This is what you really I mean, in all seriousness,
you shouldn't do this, and some people do it a lot.

Speaker 7 (56:43):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
I'm not proud of myself with my one. Again, this
is me opening up to you, my fans, the people,
our listeners. This is not I would not suggest doing this.
Have some conviction. I have none this week. I have
absolutely no conviction emotional ability. But I'm going to take
the Patriots to win this game. Yeah, yeah, twenty seven
to sixteen, Okay, Yeah, I mean I.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
Think part of the two, Paul is just this such
a new team, you just you don't know what you're
gonna get from I don't know what I'm gonna get
you now.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
I'm really not I don't even know what I'm gonna
get out of myself. How can I know what to
expect out of the team, Mike.

Speaker 3 (57:15):
I was disgusted with myself, thinking, if you're your friend
quote when we talk about bets and you're like and
for like ten seconds, he's tortured.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
I was like, yeah, that was a touchdown. When he
would he would talk about it because I'm just I'm
worried about t J. Watt coming off the edge and
like disrupting this game, and I just they have so
many weapons to deal with. Patriots thirty four to eleven.
You know, that's how we would pick the games every week.
Every week.

Speaker 4 (57:42):
Oh that is that's hilarious. That's stressful. All right, Well,
I have one more email i'll read before we close out.
It's from Hampton and Charlotte, North Carolina. It's a little dramatic,
That's why I wanted.

Speaker 2 (57:50):
To read it.

Speaker 4 (57:51):
Pats have been a get right game on the schedule
for every struggling team in the NFL for the last
three years. It's gotta end. That's how he wrote I
have to give justice to Hampton's email. Hopefully today they
get right against the Dolphins. Reactions final reactions to that.

Speaker 2 (58:08):
No, it's a it's a good opportunity for the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
Like I said, I think there's not really gonna be
much middle ground, but we'll take that as it comes.
And you know, you just hope you see some strides
on the defense preventing the big plays. I think that
would be just a great first place to start. Don't
let them hit those big plays. We've seen plenty of
them against Miami.

Speaker 2 (58:26):
A lot of times. It's not the bombs over their head.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
It's just a little slant that they catch and then
they break a tackle and they're they're off to the races.
So that for me, and then you know, just getting
into a rhythm on offense and establishing that and getting
very comfortable and if he's able to hit those easy
throws and you get the run going a little bit
and you're balanced, and now all of a sudden, you've
got play action is working and you're dealing a little bit.

Speaker 2 (58:48):
I don't I think the kind of to the point
of last game.

Speaker 3 (58:50):
I never felt fully like the Patriots were really dealing
from a position of strength. You know, I felt like
they were executing some plays, sure, but do they really
get the momentum going.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
And you know, maybe it's like I said, I don't
think he was quite as good in the first half.
That drive after the Gino Smith interception was excellent. I
thought he looked like he was in a rhythm. I
thought Drake was, you know, you know, it was a
combination of McDaniels. I think that the play to Hunter
Henry happened in that down the sideline for like twenty
seven yards. Then he ripped the one to Booty that

(59:18):
he put on his back hip intentionally because he wanted
to keep him out of that hit. Booty ends up
breaking a tackle for like another twenty five yards where
it looked really really good. That the field goal drive,
I'll call him the two field goal drives, the one
that they missed and the one that they they got.
You know, one of them was aided by a really
questionable passing affairance call. They would have turned the ball
over on downs at midfield. I didn't think it was

(59:41):
as good in the first half. That drive was what
I think you're hoping for, but I just didn't see
enough of it. I want to see a little bit
more and.

Speaker 4 (59:50):
We will see what we will see coming right up
