Speaker 1 (00:12):
How's it going, guys, Thanks for tuning into this episode
of the Phil Talksports podcast. It's a PWR edition today,
so we are going to talk any and all things
involving the world of Pro Wrestling Rebellion before I get
to today's guests, which will require an entire intro in itself.
Believe me, I figured it's a good time to update
you guys on the world of PWR, what's been happening
(00:32):
and where we're heading. So, the biggest headline coming out
of our show last month is the crowning of our
first ever PWR Tag Team Champions that was won by
Jeff Jeger Clayton Cross known as Unnatural Causes that we're
able to outlast Big Deal and the House of Spades
in a three way ladder match. And if you haven't
seen that yet, you're gonna want to. It's on the
PWR YouTube channel, so go ahead and check that out
(00:53):
when you can. Hats off to those guys, congrats on
the first ever PWR Tag Team Champions. And in the
XI three didn't stop there for that show. We had
our first ever women's match on that show. JC Black
took on BB Speed Demon in another match you're going
to want to check out on our YouTube channel looking
ahead to June, which is when our next show is.
It'll be June twenty eighth at Obi's Bar and Lounge,
(01:15):
the Home of PWR, the Proud Home of PWR. The
big headline for that. So far, the card is still
getting worked out. You're gonna want to stay tuned in
on social media to see the other matches as that
card takes shape about a month away now. But the
headliner is going to be a High Voltage Invitational. What
is that? Let me tell you. So, we are debuting
yet another championship and is the High Voltage Championship, and
(01:39):
it will be twelve to fifteen people in a battle
Royal Royal Rumble style event and the last person standing
in that match will be the High Voltage Champion. And
anyone can show up in this, anyone that's been invited.
You never know just who's going to be in the
ring for a High Voltage Invitational. So that is something
that I'm looking forward to personally, and it's definitely worth
checking out the show on that if we didn't know
(02:00):
any other matches, that's enough to make you want to
come out to Obi's on June twenty eighth. Now I
got to get to oh, sorry, hand a firewall breached.
I didn't know I had I have a Mac. Why
would I have a firewall?
Speaker 2 (02:22):
I feel one thousand apologists for interrupting your fine broadcast
so that you'd forgotten to update your firewall software. And well,
I just couldn't help myself. It was coming by attention
that a PWR ascension you're hosting a certain over the top,
wrote Royal tumble type two wheel. Love victor any victims,
(02:46):
and Phil you know me, I love victims. That'd be sad.
I'd like to hear my officially invite myself to the
PWR High Voltage Invitational Saturday. You're twenty Obi's rest running
lounge the land for so when that day draws close,
you might start you went a little disconnected, kind of
(03:07):
like that guy in the white it's crossed. Don't worry,
it's not virus. It's Kevin k. I'm going to show
you why some of these stupid cowards just can't hack it.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Okay, I don't I think we're recording now again. I
don't know what happened there, off to go back and
to but anyway, let me get to our guest today.
So today's guest is a guy by the name of
Alejandro Bravo. He is known around these parts as the
angriest man in professional wrestling, and unlike my interviews with
Shane Evans and even Forrest Nystrom, I've never met Bravo personally.
(03:44):
I've been at some shows that he's had matches, but
we have yet to meet, so this could be a
little different. I was advised to tread lightly. Some people
have told me not to do this interview at all,
but there's a lot of questions that we have for
this guy as he used to work for PWR. It
was actually fired due to ZAC in February. So my
goal here today is actually to get to the bottom
(04:04):
of you know, what caused those things. We'll get to
what those actions were later in the interview. So my
goal here I have to be a little more pushy
than I am normally. We have a good time on
this show, but I've been tasked by PWR to kind
of figure out what happened with this guy and what
the problem is. He's still doing great things in like
Riot Pro Wrestling and other places around the state of Florida,
but I am hoping to get to the bottom of
(04:26):
what happened, why he ruined the main event in our
February show, and a few other things. This guy's known
to fly off the handle. He'll always tell you he'll
show up anywhere. I'm just gonna do what I can
to get some answers here. So that's going to be
our episode today, without a further ado, here's Bravo joining
me now on the show. He's often referred to as
the angriest man in professional wrestling. Alejandro, Bravo, Bravo, appreciate
(04:51):
your time, man, thank you for.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Being here, Thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
When you hear people, you know RJR. Ring announcer, people
on line refer to you as the angriest man in
professional wrestling? Is that a thing of pride? How do
you feel about about that? When people say that.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
The way I it's it's it's stating the obvious. It's
just to be perfectly honest with you. Legitimately, they can
see that I'm a man with a mission, and when
I walk out there, I play no games. No, they
want to translate that as anger, they want to translate
that as psychotic. I could care less. The end result
(05:31):
is your steal always the same, call me what you want.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So while some people take it as anger, do you
just more view it as determination You're just trying to
get the job done? Is that? Is that what's going
through your head a lot of the time?
Speaker 4 (05:42):
So most people, most people they crack under anger when
they're in when when when when that pressure is on
and they're really pissed off, they can't seem to think clearly.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
The thing is is.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
That I've built up this whole thing of kicking people's
heads off by being angry, and I do it.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeats in every single time while I'm angry. Does that
answer your question?
Speaker 1 (06:04):
It does very much. So I've seen you kick many
people's heads off at PWR. I've been to a few
Riot shows seeing you do it plenty. There, Let's let's
go back to the beginning for a minute. We see
where you are now kicking people's heads off. At what
point in your life did you decide, I assume you've
been a wrestling fan for a while, when did you
decide to take the jump of like, I'm gonna give
(06:25):
this a try. I'm gonna try and make a career
out of this.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Two thousand and seven Oh wow, two thousand and seven.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
I was the first time I ever stepped foot into
a ring, and I got my ass beat for the
first good couple of years. For those who know me
knows exactly who was beating my ass. And so that
roughened me up. That toughened me up. And since then,
you can't hit me hard enough.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
So were you a fan growing up? Or did you
just want to get into it?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Like?
Speaker 1 (07:00):
How much wrestling do you watch on the daily? Because
some guys just are in the business and they don't
really keep up with what's going on with their mainstream independence.
How much wrestling are you watching on a weekly basis?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
It's my life, That's all I think about. It consumes
my life. Ask for my favorite sports teams.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
I was going to get there. So yeah, this is
this show is Phil talk sports. So we're not talking wrestling.
We do talk sports. Who I see You're you either
live or from Jacksonville. Are you a Jags fan by chance?
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Nope, I'm not a football fan. I'm not a basketball fan.
I'm not a hockey fan. I'm not a shot put fan.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
No.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
So, like when you wear when you wear like so,
when you wear like the Jordan shirt. That's just like
a fashion thing. Right, You're not into basketball, that's what
I'm getting.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
That is correct. I wears all the time. I'm not
I don't play basketball.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Okay, Why do you take somebody's head off with these js?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
That's true? What do you the thing that is a
lot of people that are into wrestling out of the
fans of the people in the business. They're able to
be sports fans, they have those other interests. Why do
you think you're so one tracked for wrestling and nothing.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Else, Because that's what I'm That's what I do, That's
what I'm good at. You see.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
You know there's a thing that triggers in the brain
that once you start doing something you love, you never
work a day in your life. You know. Now you
see a lot of these guys that have their eyes
and and and there are all these big fans, all
these different things.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
See, that's the mind got scattered all over the place.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Not me.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I focus on what I need to do.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I focus on the industry that's going to make me successful,
which has made me successful, which has brought me to
this exact point right now.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Why change for what?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, that's that's a that's a great point. If you
did have to play a sport. What's another thing you
think you'd excel at though outside of wrestling.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, because they allow you to fight.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Hey, can't can't argue with that at all. Doing this
since two thousand and six, Like you said, excuse me,
two done seven my fault. You know you probably you
watch a lot of wrestling and consumes your life. Who
are some guys, either modern back in the day, even
guys now that you look to not emulate, but draw
inspiration from. I always use the example a lot of
(09:15):
guys like Jeff Hardy. People don't try to wrestle like
Jeff Hardy. Who are guys that you take inspiration from,
either early on in your career and even now.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Early on in my career and even now there's one
of my biggest inspirations is Triple h and that is
for his psychology I have never seen I mean, some
people this is arguable, but me personally, I have enjoyed
each Triple Eah mash that I have watched. All of
them have all made sense. He's always seems like he's
(09:46):
in the right place at the right time, which is
why he has the story career that he has. So
if you want to be the best, you study the best.
And I mean look at you know, he started off
as you know, a blue blood as a wrest you know,
and then he of course he became the world heavyweight champion,
and now he runs the business like literally, he runs
(10:07):
the business.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Who else would you look up to?
Speaker 1 (10:12):
So, being a Triple H fan, where does the superkick
come into all this? You're clearly good at it. You're
kicking people's heads off left and right. Why not the pedigree?
Why not something else you end up going with? You know,
his best friends move for example, where's the superkick fit in?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
And all this?
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Well before, prior to me getting into professional wrestling, I
did seven years of Brazilian jiu jitsu okay, and I
got Manda thrill. The Manda thrill. It was when I
would lift my foot up and crack somebody right in
the jaw and they would fall down like a sack
(10:49):
of potatoes.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I kid you not. It brought me pure joy. So
now it just turns out that you know.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
One of the greatest performers of all time just so
happened to be his finisher, you know. And I drew
a lot of inspiration from that as well, especially from
the ways that he's able to hit it out of nowhere,
especially the ways that he's able to use psychology and
work it in a way where everybody knows, even if
you are not a wrestling fan, they know that when
that kick connects, it is done. Now we fast forward
(11:20):
to modern days and you see everybody nowadays stilling a.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Superkick, superkick, superkick, superkick, superkick.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
I guarantee you this, if I kick you and I
hit you with a superkick, we're not going to the
next spot not happening. That's what separates my my superkick
from the rest of them, which at this point, since
I kick people's head off, I'm just gonna call it
the KAIFO, the ky fho kick your freaking head off.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
That's the name of my superkick, the KAIFO.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Well, now I know the difference, so I appreciate that
for sure. I've seen you, just in my still kind
of short time working for PWRs, seen you kick Bobby
Mundo Brian Colton. Both both you know, were ended. Uh
like you said, they didn't kick out, there was no
next next move, you know, that was the end of
the match, right there. Another guy that I saw you
(12:12):
kick was actually someone that you weren't in a match with.
But you actually interrupted a main event show in February
with Kevin Kleebold and Chevin Chane Evans, and you kind
of came out. You kind of ruined the main event
for the fans. They kind of wanted to see who
the better man was that night. So for before we
get to what ended up happening after that, what kind
(12:34):
of possessed you to go in there and crash that
main event?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Possessed? What possessed me?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
See if you're gonna ask me a question, you were
doing so good and then you started asking me really stupid,
something downright stupid, Like, Okay, I wasn't possessed to go
into that match. No, I had a thought in my
head and it, honestly, it just it clicked. And if
it doesn't click to anybody else, is simply that simply
has a brain that I should have been in that match.
(13:06):
Why in though Blue Hell is there anybody else in
PWR that is not getting that shot at Shane Evans?
Why in though Blue Hell are they protecting Shane Evans?
And then you're gonna sit here and say I was possessed.
Move on to the next question before you really truly
pissed me off here.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
I clearly struck, clearly struck a chord there, did not
mean to. That's just a question that people have had
since February. You know, the fans, the fans of p
w R were wondering, you know what made that happen?
And let's let's jump to the next part of that
that resulted in your termination at PWR. It's been several months.
What's your you know, is your opinion changed on how
(13:46):
that went?
Speaker 2 (13:47):
That?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Would you have done things differently and you still could
have been in PWR at this point?
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Actually you're right, yeah, you know what.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
To be honest with you, yes, humbly speaking, I would
do something differently, And.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
To be honest with you.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Just like when I slid in there and I kicked
both those individuals in the face, I realized it wasn't enough.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
I should have done it again and again and again.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
And when Diva D came out and fired me, I
should have kicked her head off too.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
You don't think that's a little too far that you
to be thinking that, man, I mean, come on, let's
let's be real here, that I don't think we needed
to go that far.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
You must not know me, do you.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
You said you're new here here, but do a little
research research, does you well, because you're continuously pissing me
off here by not doing your research asking me stupid
questions what's the third strike?
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I think I know what the third strike is, but
we do have to ask it here. Uh. Recently, our
champion Shane Evans was on the other podcast that covers
PWR brewed opinion. Shout out to those guys. Uh, he
had some words for you, and I just want to
give you my platform to maybe uh give an answer.
So for as yours.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Do you think I could give two damns what Shane
Evans has to say about me? Because at the end
of the day, Shane Evans, every time he has across.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
The ring from me, his foot meets my jaw and
he is laying on the mat every single time. Now
he can run his mouth.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Run it, run it, run it, run it, run it,
because I want that confidence. I want that confidence when
I'm looking you straight to.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Your face because you piss me off.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
I promise you not only will I kick your head
right off, but I'll slap you around a couple of times,
just to make sure you know I'm there, So be
careful who you're calling out. Be very careful who you're
calling out, because PWR has yet to see what I
am fully capable of. And please, I dare you to
be the one to bring it out.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Well, I mean, what's unfortunate about that is we'll never
know because you and Shane can't get in the ring
now because Shane's and p w R and you're not.
So you mean you kind of blew your chance.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
I blew my chance.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I mean, how's this match gonna happen?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Though?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (16:14):
How is this match gonna just? You know what? You're
not that bright? Are you? I can tell because.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Here's the thing you want to I'm gonna show you
exactly how this match is gonna get out of the
way this match is gonna happen is by me showing
up the way I always do, because I am viable
to wind up anywhere. And guess what where are you going?
Just like Shane Evans? And guess where as far as
Shane Evans go, I can guarantee you this, He's going
to get his head kicked right off.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Where are you are you? He's taking a walk. You know,
I said in the intro, I did not know where
this was gonna go. This might be one of my
shortest interviews of all time. I don't really know what
set him off like that and what he's yelling his
head off. There's no all right, this is I guess
(17:05):
I gotta end this pod, so like subscribe all that.
I gotta yeah, I gotta see what's going on here.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
M h okay,
