La escritora guayaquileña Mónica Ojeda, considerada como una de las novelistas más relevantes de la literatura latinoamericana contemporánea, estuvo en Ecuador en septiembre del año pasado para presentar su más reciente novela Chamanes eléctricos en la fiesta del sol.
Desgajar tabúes en torno al cuerpo femenino, la violencia, el duelo, las relaciones afectivas, etc., es un rasgo distintivo de su escritura. Chamanes en ese sentido no se aleja de ese compromiso escritural de Mónica de nombrar aquello que en el día a día se prefiere callar, pero es otro el tabú que ocupa el centro de esta novela, un tabú acaso menos evidente: el del mestizaje como una herida.
