Speaker 1 (00:00):
Watertown Whiskey presents Reality After Show's coverage of the NFL
weekly preview show with Survivor legend Johnny fair Play, Survivor
forty seven's Gayboard Teas and producer Bobby Goodspeed.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Oh hello there, wherever you're listening, however you're listening or
watching us here on the Reality After Show YouTube channel,
whether you're joining us live or you're joining us after
the fact on the archived episode. This is our NFL
preview show, getting in all the games, giving you what
our picks are going to be and what the storylines
are going into the new NFL season. This week, we're

(00:39):
going into week nine of the NFL season.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Week It's moving, it's moving.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
We're at the end of October here, and in my opinion,
real football starts very very soon. All the September overreactions
are starting to get disproven one by one. My name's
gaybartis of course, joined by Yannie Fairplay and producer Bobby
goodsby so looking ahead to this slate of games here
next week. He kicks off tomorrow night with the Baltimore

(01:09):
Ravens heading to Miami. The Baltimore Ravens coming off a
win they desperately needed at home against Caleb Williams Chicago Bears.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Now, this was a game that did not feature Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Everybody else on the team was healthy except for the starman, Lamar,
So this was a game where it was kind of
how is this going to go? The Bears are dealing
with their own ills, especially on defense, with pretty much
having everybody in their secondary injury. They're playing the backups,
backups right now. But Roma Dunze, DeAndre Swift, Caleb Williams,
that offensive line, DJ Moore, a lot of very healthy

(01:44):
members on a offense that has a lot of firepower.
And the Baltimore Ravens had a response. They won by
thirty to sixteen. And they go into another must win
game on a short week for everybody but Lamar Jackson,
and they head to Miami, a team that I think
any week of the season we would have said is
a complete dumpster fire.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
They're coming off a thirty four to ten win against
the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Right now, Vegas is giving Baltimore seven and a half
points as favorites. Bobby, what do you make of this matchup?
Is seven and a half points too much for the Ravens?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
To overcome. Oh absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Like, honestly, I'm so happy to see Lamar most likely
coming back for this game. I'm excited to see what
they can do. And honestly, this Dolphins dephens. For as
bad as the Ravens defense has been because of how
injured they are, this Dolphins defense is just as bad.
And I think Lamar coming back absolutely tarnishes that Miami secondary.
I think they easily cover that seven and a half

(02:42):
point spread. I think the Ravens all day, Johnny.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
So I'm going, well, first of all, show and tell
the Oregon Ducks grateful dead to lab this is what
they rocked on the field this Saturday.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
Is this jersey of all times? Like it is insanity?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Yeah, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Were the the Seahawks have that that like plastic on
the on the shoulders too.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
It's becoming a thing for jerseys.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
It is this Like I I got it, and I
was and I asked my fee, I'm like, am I
allowed to keep this? And she was just like, that's
the coolest jersey that you own.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
I have a lot of I love that.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
I mean, I'm a grateful dead guy and so to
have the collab, I think it's just amazing with the
dark so so yeah, and what a little what a
little coin on the Oregon Uh, it was crazy, Like
I'm just betting. I'm just like, what is Whatscon's gonna
gonna do this drive punt? All right, there's fifty bucks.
So but yeah, I'm going I'm going the opposite of

(03:49):
Bobby And in one aspect, we have gotten the greatest
games of the year every Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Thursday has been musty TV. So so while last week.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Why are we expect?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
I think I think we returned to Thursday night form.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
I think uh, I think Baltimore wins, but by like five.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Just take the money line in Baltimore, be happy, get
your go to tds lamar and money line.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
I think that this is gonna be a bit tighter
than people think. And the Ravens defense is the healthiest
it's been all season long, which is fantastic for them.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
They brought in some help for the d line in
Carl Lawson, the Cowboys pass rusher who had five sacks
last season, definitely on the back of in his career.
But right now, anybody a warm body is good for
the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
D line.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
You got Lamar who is coming off pretty much a
month of rest, and that's gonna be good form, hungary,
you know, and prepared to shut some people up. So
I do anticipate the Baltimore Ravens winning this game. And
they looked good and pretty much every phase of play
going up against the Chicago Bears without Lamar Jackson at
the helm. But the spread worries me a little bit,

(05:03):
just because there's so much firepower on this Dolphins offense
despite the fact that they've been so bad, and we
saw that on display last week when they put up
thirty plus points against the Atlanta Falcons, who aren't the
best team in the league but certainly not the worst
team in.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
The league either. And I could just see the Ravens
getting caught a couple times.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
I could see Jalen Waddle getting out behind the safeties
a couple of times. I could see them giving up
a couple of big runs to a chain that set
the Dolphins up to score. Like, I don't see this being, like,
you know, a forty two to three victory for the
raven although on paper, I think it might look like
that might be what this is gonna be.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Throw a wattle TD in that parlay as well.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Right, I like waddle to score a lot to be honest.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
All right, get it into the one pm slate that
game has taking place tomorrow, and everybody reminder Survivor Knight tonight.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Yes, I know it is Survivor Knight at.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Nine to thirty P and we will be right back
here live recap. In the newest episode of Survivor forty nine,
we're switching tribes again.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Who would have thought? Does this mean that maybe there's
no mergeratry?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
I don't know nowhere in the merge whatever they call
it now, I'm not totally sure.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
But if you're enjoying our Survivor.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Content, comeback at nine to thirty PM tonight, right here
on the same exact place to be able to watch me,
Bobby and Johnny recap everything Survivor forty nine from tonight's
new episode. Looking at the one PM slave, you got
the forty nine ers heading to met Life to take
down the New York Football Giants. They will be without
superstar breakout rookie running back Cam Scatabo. Now, I think

(06:30):
everybody thought, at least I thought that Cam Scattabo's career
was going to be short.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
I don't think it was going to be this short.
It was a tough injury to watch. His ankle was
dangling off of his leg. It was It was disgusting.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
It was heartbreaking for Scattabo fans out there, of which
there are many.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
I mean, it was really hard to watch.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
And now the New York Giants, who had a very
promising stint this season, are without Molik neighbors are without
Cam Scattabo, but they still got Jackson Dart. San Francisco
forty nine Ers are currently listed as as my screen
loads right here going into this game, Bobby, tell me
who you like before I give you the spread.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, no, honestly, the forty nine ers are finally starting
to look like that beat up team right They're straight.
The injuries are starting to resonate, especially after last week
where we saw them get absolutely demolished by the Texans
twenty six to fifteen. The score looks a lot closer
than really the game felt the entire way through, and
I think it's.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Been terrible all season.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Not to cut you off, Oh yeah, awful, absolutely awful
and real quick.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
And it was fun watching the forty nine ers win
with a team that like on paper was nothing like.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
That was fun.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
The Rams game that they won was great, and that
was a Thursday night game to it.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I think the.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I think the Fred Warner injury was the most deflating
thing for them, right he was the heart and soul
of that defense, and once they lost him two weeks ago,
I think now we're seeing the repercussions of that. And secondly,
to talk about Cam Scataboo, like, who doesn't love Cam Skataboo,
Like he might be the most beloved rookie out of
any of the rookies all season. And it's so funny

(08:09):
because I know so many people that text me that
aren't even Giants fans. They were just like, not Cam,
like anyone just not Cam. Why did that happen to him?
And it was devastating to see. They say it might
also take out some of his twenty twenty six time
as well because of the surgery that he had, So
I feel for the kid. It was a gruesome injury.
Have him on my fantasy team, that was just, uh,

(08:32):
the worst blow. But I think, honestly, I think this
is where we see the Giants go downwards.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
So we got two teams spiraling down.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
It's hard to a half points spread in favor of
the forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
I was gonna say, I'm probably taking the Niners, but
I don't feel good about it.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Uh Scataboo had the miles. I don't think that.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
I don't think it's injury had anything to do with
the miles. But I told you guys last week, you're
buying a jer you get the dark jersey. That's the
good looking guy, kind of weird looking.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Its like, looks like a bulldog.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
He kind of looks like Russell Hans doesn't he.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Looks like that's the meanest thing anyone's ever said about.
I mean, I'm sure I hate him, but.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Jackson Dark looks like cool Johnny Fairplay.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Whoa Johnny Fairplay is? When I heard so? Yeah, now,
I told you get that dark jersey. You know what,
let's uh, let's win one, win one for the Gipper.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Yeah, I I I agree. I think this might be
a rally game against like a weak team. It's so tough,
and obviously Vegas seems to feel the same way. Only
like a two and a half point spread for two
teams that are terribly beat up right now and one
team that you know has some really good coaching and
came into the season as a very highly rated team.
And the Niners the Giants who seem to be punching

(10:02):
above their weight. I think I lean the Giants with
points here just because they're at home. Like a home
team with points, I'm always gonna kind of lean towards
and they got something to play for. I don't know
how much that really translates into performance, but yeah, I
think this is one where I would stay away from.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
I would stay away from it.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
You know, I'm not gonna attach it to like an
eight leg parlay, but I think I'm gonna I'm gonna
do something like throw this with with the Taylor and
two touchdowns and you know, and let this ride. But uh,
I think we get a feel good story and and
I think the story comes to an end, uh after

(10:40):
this win.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Yeah, and then it really starts apart. And even the
West Coast the East Coast thing too. It's always for
those West Coast teams.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's another good point. The Minnesota Vikings
will be in Detroit to take down to attempt to
take down the Lions. The Vikings will have their rookie
quarterback or I guess second year quarterback first, your starter
in JJ McCarthy. They are eight and a half point
underdogs at Ford Field, taken on the Lions. Bobby, do

(11:07):
your Vikings stand a chance in this one?

Speaker 1 (11:09):
I mean it's hard to see any silver lining right now.
I mean it feels the sky's literally falling, like I
feel like the Baltimore Ravens of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
So all I have to say is going to that
game last week and stops fired. Hey, we're winning games again.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
We're It was fun going to the game last week.
I mean, got to ride in a party buzz, got
to go to a suite. The game was absolutely atrocious,
but at least I didn't have to pay to go
watch that. As far as the Lions, I mean, let's
be real, the Lions look like the right Lions of
last year. They're starting to really come on strong. We
are still very beat up. I don't know how many

(11:48):
of our offensive linemen we have left that are gonna
be starting for us. Grenard went down with an injury
last week. I think he's okay to play this week,
but it's tough. When are we ever gonna get Van ginkelback?

Speaker 6 (11:59):
Still, those literally was asked, what's he's had a neck
slash concussion injury that's lasted basically the whole season.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
The most important player on your defense.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
He's very important.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Well, he's in the like it's always at worst a
one possession loss. When he's out, you're susceptible getting blown out.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Well in him and Grenard, Like, Grenard's not been the
same this year because he doesn't have the threat on
the other edge with Van Ginkle there, because then they
have to they can't just double team Grenard. They they
have to put a man on Van Ginkle. And honestly,
Turner is not the answer we thought that. You know,
we used to a first round pick on him, and
the kid he looks okay, but he's not Van Ginkle.

(12:38):
So honestly, at this point, it's just kind of frustrating.
The season has been an absolute mess, injury ridden. And
I'm the one thing i will say, and I'm sorry,
I'm not trying to go on a tangent here, but
the one thing I'll.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Say is like, well, gab Gabe got that, got got
that out of the way the first eight weeks.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
So thank god we are finally going back to JJ McCarthy.
I don't know why we've been babing him. Obviously, look
at Carson Wentz, who's.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
An absolute warrior.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
The fact that they didn't put Brosmer in the game
at halftime last week and give the undrafted rookie a chance.
They said they wanted to protect him from. We're already
down by thirty points. What are you fucking protecting him from? Like,
let's be real, give the kid an opportunity to see
what you got because if JJ's not healthy, we're gonna
need to know what the backup quarterback is going to be.
And now poor Carson Wentz was dead on the field

(13:27):
and probably his entire career because you didn't take him
off the field.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
That it's just too I would have went to see
we all do ye no sense? Can I be honest
with you.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
My conspiracy theory is they didn't want to play Brosmer
because they didn't want Brosmer to shine, and they quarter
J McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I agree with that. I totally agree with that. I mean,
there's no other reason to leave.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, And I think you're in a place where it's
like you kind of need to light some fire under
JJ and be like, like you know, this is not
safe at all, and we got.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Right exactly, so I don't.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
We're not even gonna try.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Everyone's hurt in the NFL, and also everybody gets hurt
in the NFL. Yes, people are starting to come back
down slowly, but surely people. It's kind of weird, it's
like coming back. Yeah, like we're losing people at the
same so it's kind of keeps evening out.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Eight and a half points is still a lot of
points for a differ.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
I love it all day. Sorry, sorry, Bobby, all day.
Eight and a half points. They're feeding, They're feeding.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Brother and a half I I I'm very interested to
see what the injury reports like for the Vikings, if
they're gonna get some of these guys back, because if
like Van Ginko is playing, if Grenard is playing, then
all the sudden, I'm starting to feel.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
A little bit better about eight and a half points.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
But if those guys are still out, this could get
ugly really off of bye week with.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Like Detroit's like literally ready to play football.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah right, exactly, yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Looking at another game in this one PM slate here,
one that I think is very interesting, probably the most
interesting game of the one PMS and that's gonna be
the Indianapolis Colts Indiana Jones, who I will be for
Halloween this year heading to Akroscher Stadium to take on
the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think this game is fascinating for

(15:31):
both teams. I mean, you have the Colts, who have
the best record in the NFL. They look at they
look like the best team in the NFL. And you
have the Steelers who are kind of slowly falling apart.
It's like the planes crashing, but it's like a slow
descent into the ground. It's not like a you know,
noseedive and it's It's a game that I think is

(15:53):
very important for the Steelers, especially if the Ravens find
a way to win in Miami tomorrow night. And for
the Colts, it feels like a bit of a heat check,
like it doesn't matter, you know, what's going on in Pittsburgh.
They're always going to be a tough team to beat,
especially if you're an AFC team. And I look at
this Colts team and I'm like, if you can go
in and you can manhandle the Steelers the way you've

(16:14):
been manhandling teams all year, I might really buy in to,
like this is legit. They're going to be a force.
They are very legitimate contenders. And the Steelers if they
win this game, they maintain their hold on the AFC
North and the division. But if they lose and the
Ravens win Tomorrow night, Ravens are one game back with
both games still to play against Pittsburgh, I mean, is

(16:37):
a big game for both teams. I think three points
in favor of the Indianapolis Colts. Johnny, what are you thinking?

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Uh? I want to believe in the Colts. How fun
are they to root for?

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yeah, it's the best watch in the league right now.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Is you want Taylor to score fourteen.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Touchdowns and you want to see them win?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (17:01):
And no one likes likes Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Aaron Rodgers sucks. D J.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Watt having a terrible year after he got all of
his money, Like, I mean, DK Metcalf whatever has been.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
I'm unmoved by him so far this season.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
He's had a few good plays, but he's you know
it doesn't like DK Metcalf of old.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
I would just do the easy thing and bet with
the Colts this time. I'd probably take the money line
because I think it will be closer than people think.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Three points.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
I like the Colts covering me too.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Yeah, you know what, screw the money line, just just
just give up the points and and get.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
Your parley on the do it do we do? We
like to this is this is a big game.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Like, uh, I went to Virginia Tech and uh, we
were always good at basketball.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
But for one season back in the day, we were
good at at uh at basketball pick Uh, well, no,
we're good at basketball one season.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
So we had this guy Ace Custis and like that
was our guy, and we were playing against you, and
like we were like number We've got ranked for the
first time ever, and we're going against you Mass who
was number one.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
And my buddy was working.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
At the hotel uh that that you Mass was staying at,
and Marcus Camby comes in he is like uh.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
He's like yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
He goes, uh, you guys got.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Your hands full.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Man boy's Custis's and Marcus Camby, who's who literally knows
one of the most polite guys in the history of basketball,
he goes, I'm gonna hang my nuts from his chin.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
I think that's what Jonathan Taylor says.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Uh on Sunday, He's gonna hang some nuts from Aaron
Rodgers chin possibly three touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Honestly, I really do agree with a lot of the
thing as you guys said. But to be Devil's advocate here,
does this not have all the makings though, of like
a trap game?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Wait, that's what I'm saying. I think it's gonna be
closer than people think that. Yeah, has all the makings
of a trap games. Steelers are at home.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Steelers coming off some emotional losses back to back. They're
ready to go in there and and beat a team
that obviously people see as one of the front runners
in the league, Like the Steelers teams of old, especially
with like Aaron Rodgers at the Helm, they always tend
to take games more seriously when the threat's bigger, Right,
So when it's a game where there it's a bigger challenger,

(19:34):
you feel like they're actually more involved in the game.
And I don't know why that is, it feels like
that's how it is every year with the Steelers. I
agree with you, Johnny though, who likes the Steelers like
they're just such like a what.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
And I agree with what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, if speaking in terms of of historically, I think
that's a Tomlin thing.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
I think Tomlin is very much like we're getting up
for this, you know.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Yeah, But I don't think Aaron Rodgers shares that same mentality. Yeah,
I think Aaron Rodgers is like a word down by
two touchdowns, I'm checking out kind of guy. So if
the Colts come out and they just roll from the
first quarter on, like.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
I could see it getting ugly.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
But I think Vegas is kind of on your side, Bobby,
where they're like dah, like we'll give three points and
that's kind of it here. Like, yeah, I mean, right
now the Baltimore Ravens at two and five versus the Steelers,
what are they four and three?

Speaker 3 (20:28):
Four and two? Right now?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
The the Yeah, they're they're four and are four and
three right now. The Steelers are four and three, the
Baltimore Ravens are two and five. The Ravens are favored
to win the division. Yeah, Like the amount of disrespect
getting thrown at Pittsburgh right now is immense, and it

(20:52):
feels like a game where Tomlin is like, we are
going to put everybody back on notice who the fuck
we are. So I could see that playing out but
it's just like on paper, roster for roster, how the
season has been going, it's hard for me to lean
lean Colets.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Well, the Colts are not Ohio State right like people
are looking at this team because they've had some blowout wins.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
They've had some very very close wins as well.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Like the Broncos they only won by one point, the
Rams they lost by a touchdown, the Cardinals they lost
by less than seven points.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Are they won by less than seven points?

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Like?

Speaker 3 (21:26):
These games aren't blowouts.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yes, they had a blowt against the Raiders and the Titans,
but the Raiders and the Titans and the Dolphins, like,
we get it, everyone's blowing out those teams.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
So blew out the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
It was thirty eight to twenty four. So yes, it
was a high scoring game, but it wasn't a complete blowout.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Sure, I mean putting up fourteen points, I.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
Don't know how you're betting, Bobby, fourteen points is eight
thousand points this season.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Give me the Steelers getting points and I'll take that.
I'll take the very interesting. I'm gonna keep my eye
on that one.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
That's very Bobby.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
I agree.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
I agree with the Devil's advocate of it all. However,
what story do we want? I mean, it's like, of
course Colts win this this season, there's there's some fun
in the season. Fucking Steelers wins is just like, oh
my god, everything's convoluted and sucks, and it's like, oh,

(22:24):
the Steelers are going nine and eight again and the
Colts aren't real.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, and and this team that the whole country is
kind of rallying behind you.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Yeah, there's there's no.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Such thing as Santa claus is literally what happens if
the fucking Steelers beat the calls uh A.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
A game that I'm also fascinated by in the one
PM Slate, not as much as that Colt Steelers game,
but but one that I find to be really really
interesting is the Houston Texans hosting the Denver Broncos. The
Broncos one and a half point underdogs.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
In this game. Yeah, Bobby, where do you go here?

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Because the Texans have been a very uninspiring team until
they beat up the beat up San Francisco forty nine ers.
So I think this line is crazy. For me, It's
insane your thoughts.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Denver's one of the best teams in the league in
my opinion, they have it all the way around, defense, offense,
run game, like, they are a very strong team, and
I think they completely get dismissed because bo Nicks is
a second year quarterback that's been really good but also
at times very average too, where they can't completely give
them the benefit of the doubt.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
The fact that the Texans are home favorites in this
is still wild to me.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
I would smash the Broncos button like, this is one
of my locks of the week, and because honestly, guys,
the Texans, Yeah, they got a great win against a
very beat up team, like We'll be real, the team
that's probably been overproducing and just lost their best player
on defense the week before that.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
So yeah, I shouldn't want to kill that. Yeah, I
give me Denver all day. Yeah. I mean Denver right
now is six and two.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Houston Texans are three and four, and like, I guess
it's a close you know, uh spread that they have.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
But like favorites, I.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Mean, if if Denver was a one and a half
point favorite, I would get that.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Making them the underdog is shocking to me.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
Yeah, I love it. I love it. Free money. What's
the parlay on that we're just uh bo with the
two passing touchdowns called today.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
I think bow rushing touchdown in this one. Whoa yeah, yeah,
I think runs one end.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Are you gonna do a one hundred dollars first touchdown
of the game, Bonnicks.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
It's very fun. You tried it.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
It's very fun when it works out. It works out.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
Oh yes, it does. The only need to win one,
and that covers them for the next like seven weeks.
All you need.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
If I would have won five thousand dollars this week,
I would have absolutely made that bad.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
But no, I get crude.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
The biggest spread of the weekend, then, Johnny at the
Sauna is going, oh at the Green Bay Packers thirteen
and a half points. The only reason I'm talking about
this one is because it's a thirteen point spread, and
that's pretty notable. I feel like it's kind of a
lot of points, and the Packers, I think are slowing

(25:18):
down a little bit. I kind of like the Panthers
honestly for thirteen and a half points, but away from home,
cold stadium.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
You know, I don't know. I just wanted to bring
it up because it's a lot of points. Bobby, what
do you think?

Speaker 1 (25:29):
No, give me the Packers minus thirteen and a half
all day. Look at what the Bills just did at
the Panthers last week when they put up forty to nine.
I literally bet one of my regulars at work he
likes He's like, oh no, the Panthers are gonna say this.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
I gave him seven and a half points.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
I could have give him thirty three and a half
points and I still would have won.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
Johnny Well, Johnny fair play, big big Panthers fan. Well,
only because I lived two hours away. Cruiserweight Chamber of
the World. I will be will be defitting the championship
this Sunday, b r CW dot com.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
Get your tickets right now. Fatal four Way. It's insanity.
What are in my life?

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (26:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (26:10):
Now I love the PA.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
I think the Packers destroy the Panthers.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Yeah, I mean I I it's just a lot of points.
Is weird when I it's a lot of points? Go ahead? Yeah,
akream bay, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:22):
I think that's I think that's really the difference maker.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
There are a couple other one PM games here that
are interesting but also not very interesting. So I want
to move into the four pms. Bears at Bengals is
a one PM game. Joe Flacco not practicing, looks like
it could be Jake Browning returning to the starting lineup
for the Bengals. Bengals are three point underdogs. I see
this as a big get right game for the Bears.

(26:46):
I think, especially if it's Browning. I really like the
Bears to cover, and they also have a lot of firepower. Like,
I just don't think that the Bengals dreadful defense is
going to be able to contain Roma dudes a DeAndre
Swift and Caleb Williams with the decent offfensive line.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
But Bears are great at playing just just rude, Like
if they're playing just an okay or bad team, they
can play basic football.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
And the last week, well here's the Yeah, I agree
with that, but no, the Bengals last week say goodbye
to my Survivor pool team.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
Thanks a lot, Bengals.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
But yeah, no, honestly, even with Brownie, I do think
that the Bengals can stay alive in this game. I
I don't hate them as a possible under underdog here.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
Yeah, I don't like.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
I love the Bengals, They're my favorite teams, but I
Browning is a dud.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yeah, he's he's any juice he's had is gone?

Speaker 5 (27:47):
WHOA speaking of juice, you know what I like with
juice and whiskey. Watertown Whiskey.

Speaker 7 (28:02):
Guess what Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
Back to back?

Speaker 7 (28:04):
Here we go, super Bowl champions. You see Daniels hit
is the Commander's year? Whoa super Bowl fan? Don't no
Watertown Whiskey. It's back to back. The Chiefs are going
back and they're winning this time.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
Watertown Whiskey. Y'all boys, heading on down to eight Mile.
The Lions got this. Watertown Whiskey. It's the AFC's year,
but it's the Chargers. It's only one thing I gotta say.
The Watertown Whiskey j e t s Jets. Jets Jets
shut on Hartford Whalers. We're going to the super Bowl.

(28:45):
They're close to Watertown, right. There's one thing we can
all agree on. The Watertown Whiskey Escape the ordinary. Watertown
Whiskey dot com.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Ingk responsibility Watertown Whiskey. Head over to Watertown Whiskey dot
com for more information. Whiskey Bay with natural flavors. Please
drink responsibly. Always love Watertown Whiskey. The sponsors for this

(29:18):
show looking on our four pms. Here the Jacksonville Jaguarars
taking on the dreadful maybe worst team in the league,
Las Vegas Raiders, only three points for they're.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
About to lose their wide receiver too.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Right who the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
Yeah, there's like Kobe Myers. Uh it was I got
the alert on our our little our survivor Sleeperly.

Speaker 5 (29:47):
Maybe I don't know, we got the alert that there.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Uh that three teams are like, yeah, it's a fire
sale at the Raiders there.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
They are bringing in Tyler, which I thought was a
very strange move because it's not winning anything this season.
So I don't know what that's why you bring in
like a wide receiver with three years left in the
league to play. But the Jacksonville Jaguars are three point
favorites in Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Is there any hope that Vegas wins this game? I
don't think so.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
I don't either. I don't love the jack I want
here's the crazy.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
I want to love the Jaguars because, like Tony Kahan
owns aw wrestling his dad Jaguars. I think they're gonna
be the first London team. I want that jersey. So
there's a lot of synergy here and I have two beers.
They matched my jersey. So but uh yeah, no, I
I is this free money?

Speaker 2 (30:44):
I think this might be free money. I think two
games are free money this week. I think it's the
Jaguars and I think it's the Broncos. I think those
are two free money games this week. Yes, And the
last game.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
That I want to talk about.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
The other game for the four pms is the Saints
at the Rams, which is a fourteen point spread in
favor of the Rams at so far. Yeah, the Rams
are gonna win, and they're gonna win by a lot
of points. The Saints are terrible, and there's also Benching
Spencer Rattler. Uh so it's gonna be whoever the that
other rookie is that they're sing gonna first start.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
It's yes, spoiler, it's me.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
You will be will be under center for the New
Orleans Saints.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
You can just remember rhymes the fuck show.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Bold move cotton. But I I I haven't worked out
in three weeks, but I'm feeling I'm feeling pretty good.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
How's your how's your cadence? How's your cadence?

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Read?

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Ay?

Speaker 5 (31:44):
Was it Toledo? Omaha? Omaha.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
See that's but the thing that's actually what John is
gonna sound like on the line, He's gonna go into city.
He's gonna go, oh uh, what is it?

Speaker 3 (31:57):
Omaha? That that's what is exactly.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
I'm pretty sure you're the same age as Shuck too,
because and I.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Will be throwing the ball for eight yards. Just tell you.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
On eight plates. We just talk about the game that
actually matters, like the.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Game of the week, Game of the week, Baby, the
Kansas City Chiefs and the high Mark Stadium for the
last time in high Mark Stadium to take on the
Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs are one and a half point favorites. Bobby,
how do you feel about this the game of the week.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
It's tough, man, Like, this is always one of the
more exciting matchups anytimes the Chiefs and the Bills play
each other, as always primetime TV.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
I obviously I really like as night game. It should
have been. It should have been Monday night, Sunday night night.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
The fact is, when you have Buffalo versus Kansas City,
how is that not a prime time at any point
of the season?

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Is crazy to me?

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I agree, But I also kind of love when there's
like a really great game at four because then you
get to watch it and it's like one of three games,
so you can really lean in on it, even if
you're just watching Red Zone.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
And then you kind of get a cool down with
Sunday night football no matter what it is.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
But yes, and those are prime drinking hours.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
But the problem for us is over here on the
West Coast, that's a one o'clock game.

Speaker 5 (33:15):
Like it's like right.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Backwards backwards society over there. But with one and a
half points separating these two teams. Bobby, how do you feel.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
I'm taking Buffalo. I like them at home. I'm gonna
I know Kansas City's hot right now. They should have
won me five grand last week, but I'm gonna I'm
gonna take Buffalo getting the points as well.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
Johnny, I want to hear what you say, game.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
I am going to roll with the Chiefs until they prove,
until they show why I shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
I think the Chiefs are gonna win the Super Bowl
this year. I think that they are noticeably better than
every other.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Team in the AFC right now. They had a slow start,
and they bounce back hard. And not only have they
bounced back hard, but a lot of the surrounding teams
around them and the AFC have fallen off.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
The Bills dominated the Panther's okay with Andy Dalton, congratulations
who gives?

Speaker 5 (34:12):
Well?

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Who cares? Who cares? The Chiefs look great.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
They have a tendency to beat the Bills in these
big games. If the Chiefs can win this game, they
will then be at six and three. They will put
the Buffalo Bills at five and three.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
They will really.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Insert themselves to a leading position in this race for
the one seed. And they will not a leading position
because they still have the Colts, but they're they're They're
really going to put themself in that upper echelon team.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Yes, the the the elite of the AFC. And I
just think that they're better across the board. I think
they have better weapons. I think they have a better quarterback.
I think they have a better defense. I just think
they have a better coach. I think across the board,
the Chiefs are a better team. I think the only
thing the Bills I have going for him is that
this game is in Buffalo, which is a big deal,

(35:03):
and I think that's a big reason why the spread
is what it is. Chiefs still being favored away from home, though, Johnny,
let's say.

Speaker 5 (35:09):
You, I mean, we know you're a Bill's hater.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Of course I'm a Chiefs hater too.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
All right, figure, I think you're a bigger Bill.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
It's it's funny. I think there's I think you hate
the Bills, but but you love having that rivalry. I
mean because it's it's the you and Andy rivalry.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
It's you know.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
Yeah, so I love it for for for me as
a spectator. You know, like if I didn't know you
and you know, and I wasn't a survivoral Hall of
Famer and the book Ratony cruiser, champion of the World, like.

Speaker 5 (35:38):
I'd be like, oh my god, this is so cool.
But you know, but but I can say that being
all those things, I think it's so cool. It is,
so I say, say the fuck away from this game
of your betting. And I don't.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
I I want the Bills to win.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
I'm tired of the Chiefs. I'm over it.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
Yeah, like it like remember when like the Patriots. You
guys probably don't. It's it's it's like it's like four
years ago. Remember when the Patriots won like five in
a row. You're like, we're kind of over it.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
I mean like it's.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Like we're over it that I'm over the Chiefs. I
was over the Cowboys. I'm over the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
I don't like a dynasty, sure, And.

Speaker 8 (36:27):
I don't think there's I mean, I don't think when
when it's all saiden, if they went out this season
they win the Super Bowl, I don't think we look
back and go, oh my god, remember the Chiefs the
diet Like they're not the Patriots and they're not the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
I don't think we say that about them.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
I don't know, I don't want I think they want
to say that.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
All right, that's fair, that's fair. But I think he
could go to ten more Super Bowls he's got. He's
young in his career compared to how many super bowl
Brady went to, you know, in his career. Like I
think obviously, I think Brady will always have one up
on him because he beat him in a Super Bowl.
But Patrick Mahomes legitimately has a chance to go to
like ten more Super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Oh sure.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
And I just I I look at these two teams
and I'm like, the Chiefs are good everywhere right now,
like they're they're they're good on the d line there,
they they ben don't break in the secondary. They have
a really good receiving core now that Rashie Rice is
back to it and plow.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
After you know, just saying just didn't mean it.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
Right and and exactly and and Mahomes is, like, I mean,
as as good as he's ever been. I mean, you know,
maybe he's not like an MVP candidate like we're used to,
but he's still Patrick Mahomes. And I just look at
the Bills and it's like they they have an MVP
quarterback and they have a really good running back. But
there's a big drop off on that team after you

(37:53):
get past those two players. Ed Oliver, their best pass rusher,
is gonna be out for the season due to some
surgery that he has to get on. It was something
like his leg or his neck or something, but he's
getting surgery. He's gonna be out for the season. He's
not gonna be there this game. And it pains me too,
because I don't like seeing the Chiefs be good anymore.
But like what pains me more than that is to
fight it is to sit here and take it and

(38:15):
scream and still get my medicine shoved into my mouth,
like I.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
So it's like at some point you get to the.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
Age where you're like, you know what, medicine.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
It's like, you know what, it's easier for me, it's
easier for my parents if I just put the spoon
in my mouth and just drink the medicine. And that's it.
Like so I I I think the Chiefs are gonna
win this game. I mean just on Monday when they
pased off against the Commanders, they did not play good.
Mahomes did not play good. They won by twenty one.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
Points, but they were going against Mariota like it's a
different but.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Still but still they played bad.

Speaker 6 (38:54):
But that's the point is they played bad and they
still find ways to score and and like they they
they what had two turnovers?

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Three turnovers that game? I think it was two interceptions. Yeah,
it couldn't be one of a player too sooner. Yeah, apologies.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
And it's like like they they're winning games when they're
still not playing great, and they're dominating games when they're
still not playing great. I'm just not seeing the same
thing from Buffalo. Like Buffalo losing to the Falcons is
a big deal. Buffalo losing to the Patriots isn't as
big of a deal, but it still matters. Like the
Chiefs aren't dropping games like that over the past month.

(39:29):
In September, okay, they lost games. Who cares what happened
in September. What's happening now? I'm seeing a rocky Bills
team that had to get right game against the Panthers,
and you know, they did everything that a top team
should do against the Panthers, But going up against Mahomes,
a guy that kind of has their number.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
On top of that, I don't like the Bills in
this one.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
I really, this is this season saved by a Cult's
win and and a Bills win.

Speaker 5 (39:55):
La are we.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
Are we looking at week jangling? He pretty this pretty
good season.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
I think helps that a lot too. Well, that's yeah
here in there.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
I don't care, You're not hurting the equation. But I mean,
but like, doesn't that help this season for all of football?

Speaker 5 (40:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (40:16):
Yeah, I mean it does?

Speaker 5 (40:17):
It does?

Speaker 1 (40:19):
Okay, So two, I agree with you, Johnny, I absolutely do. Now, Okay,
two things before we get out, we only have like
three minutes left.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
One, I want to hell the Survivor starts, and if
you want to go watch Survivor come back here at
nine thirty PM or me, Johnny and Bobby will be
recapping the newest episode of Survivor forty.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
Nine, So we're gonna speed run this real quick.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
First thing, I just want to ask you, guys, I
think the the AFC is much more okay, I think
the AFC is much more up for grabs for who
can get into seventh playoff spots. I think that can
mix a lot as far as NFC goes Green Bay
number one, Eagles number two, Tampa Bay number three, Seattle
number four, Detroit, and then the Rams. Honestly, I think
that the seventh seed is very much show for grabs.

(40:56):
I think the top six are pretty much locked in.
Those are probably gonna be your playoff. I know this
is early. Who from seven to sixteen do you think
legitimately has a chance at that seventh spot? Commander Nar, Panthers, Cowboys, Falcons, Vikings, Commanders, Cardinals,
Giant Saints.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
I think. I think the Bears will be in the
mix for that.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
I think that the Rams or the excuse me, the
forty nine Ers will certainly be in the mix for that.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
Those would be my two leading teams.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
I think if the Commander I think the Commanders are,
of all the bad teams, have the highest potential to
turn it around and become that seventh seed. But it's
gonna be tough for them to I'm sorry. Yeah, these
last two games. That was a very interesting picky. We
literally have ninety seconds here to Survivor starts Sunday Night Football.
The Seattle Seahawks are heading two DC to take on

(41:46):
We're heading the landover Maryland to take on the Washington Commanders.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
Three point spread in favor of the Seahawks. Bobby, who
do you like? Give me?

Speaker 2 (41:53):
Give me Seahawks. All day Seahawks and Monday Night Football.
The Arizona Cardinals are heading to Jerry World to take
on the Dallas Cowboys. Two and a half points in
favor of the Dallas Cowboys at home, Johnny, who do
you like?

Speaker 5 (42:07):
I think regrettably Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
By the Boys. I'm riding with the Cardinals the Cowboys seasons.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
It happens every year. The collapse is here. They're going
to start losing a lot of games. They're gonna start
losing a lot of games to a lot of bad teams.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
It happens every single season.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
DAK is gonna fall off the Cliff like he does
every year come November, and the Cardinals are bad, but
I think the Cowboys are gonna be worse. They don't
have any juice going right now. And this is the
beginning of the end, like it is every year. That's
gonna do it for us. We got thirty seconds until
Survivor starts over on CBS. Please come join us here
afterwards nine to thirty pm. We're gonna be recapping everything Survivor.

(42:44):
If you enjoy the NFL show, like it, subscribe, share it,
send it to your friends, say this is the coolest
NFL show that mixes a little bit of Survivor and
a whole lot of NFL. And then you can stick
around an hour and a half after our show ends to.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
Come back to our show and watch Survivor. Me Johnny Bobby.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
Breaking down episode eight of Survivor forty nine. Can't wait
to see you there, Bobby, Get us out of here, alright,

Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
