Speaker 1 (00:00):
About too.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Well, Hello there wherever you're listening, however you're listening joining
(00:50):
us here on the Reality after Show YouTube channel live
or after the Factor in the Archives episode We love
you all the same. Welcome in to the Reality The
After Show Survivor After Show Survivor forty nine, Episode seven
has just wrapped up. My name's gab Ortissa Survivor forty seven.
That's Johnny fair Play.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
You know him well.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Bobby Goods be our producer, and Wayne Memmett as well.
Really really great lineup tonight and a great episode. I
thought this was a really really good episode.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Johnny. You wanted to open up with the question. What
question is that?
Speaker 4 (01:23):
I was just wondering, do you guys know about any
good cruises?
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Any good cruises?
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I don't on Norwegian Cruise once.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Yeah, No, I heard, I heard. I heard there's some cruises.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Happening, some fun ones.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
It sounds like, Gaber, you're not familiar with the the
Challenge cruise.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
The Challenge oh rus.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Today?
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Uh yeah, I guess, Johnny Bananas and Mark Long are like, hey,
we have not gotten money.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
We have checked.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
No one's reservation was made. Uh yeah, Mike, want to
call your bank? They are working with the Cook County
Sheriff's Department.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Yeah, it's a whole thing. It's a whole thing. So yeah,
so like, uh, what Sandra did a retweet?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh what?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Always starting the episode off great with something that has
nothing to do with Survivor. Getting in to tonight's episode,
the first mer episode, bro Ain't nobody give a fuck.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Buddy, I love you. Ain't nobody
give a fuck about nothing you're talking about right now?
And the big episode of the merge for season forty
nine of Survivor. These people seem to make out better
(02:40):
than everybody on the Challenge Cruise, it seems like. But
I thought this was probably the most fun episode of
the season, and I find myself saying that after each
episode of the season, and I think that's probably a
good thing here.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
So we start off the episode we're not merged quite yet.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
We jump around to the three tribes that are still there,
and then they all get to drop your Buffs tree Mail.
I can say from experience, Drop your Buffs tree Mail
is like arguably the best day of being out there
because you get so into the grind and next thing
you know, you start really not believing, but you don't
(03:19):
expect it to ever come because you're so deep in
the hour by hour of every single day.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
And then one morning you wake up.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
And somebody walks over with that piece of paper drop
your buffs, and it's just this frickin' explosion of just
joy and validation and excitement, and it's just like, Oh, like,
I'm for real, I am a for real player.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
I've made it to this stage of the game.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
I'm not gonna be one of the people that isn't
particularly remembered on this show. And I'm somebody who played
my way to this point. Whether it was through strategy,
whether it was through challenges, whether it was through a
social game, whatever it may be. It is so so validating.
And if you go back and watch forty seven when
we get the drop Buff's news, like you think I'd
(04:02):
hit a last second buzzer beater to win March Madness
the way I popped off, And that's really what it
feels like.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Wayne, you had a question.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
Oh I was just gonna ask both Johnny and gave Hi.
Wayne Memmon here from Cincinnati, first time, long time, uh
just stitum comedian Manageabar, thank you welcome aboard to the
two survivors, Johnny and Gabe maybe have different experiences with this.
(04:34):
Is this is the feeling of that smell of something
clean as intense, like like they focus on it now.
I think they kind of focus on them smelling on
it because they like I don't remember what season, but
they kind of broke the code. They said, Oh, the
smell of the new buff is the best thing ever
because it's clean. Johnny was out like a focus when
you were playing. Did everybody do that same thing? Is
(04:56):
it a new thing? Is it like a survivor bucket
list thing? Like I want to smell the clean buff?
What about how intense is that? Like cleanliness smell?
Speaker 3 (05:07):
The smell was not?
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Like I'm with Gabe, like, uh, I feel the game
begins at the merge and if you don't make the merge,
you didn't play the game like sorry, like you know,
like like Gabe was saying last week, you know, legends
are made post merge.
Speaker 6 (05:24):
Yes, some would say so Sophie hasn't played the game yet,
not to say that she's not going to play the game.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
But Yellow slash Purple Sophie, we'll get it too.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
No, No, I I, uh, you do you do smell,
You're just like, oh my god, something that doesn't stink
is great. But for me personally, I mean I can
tell you there were people there that just smelling something
clean meant more than making the merge, and that I
think that bothered me. I feel like making like I'm
(05:55):
just I'm just like you're not winning.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Yeah, Like I can.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
I can tell if you gave me a list of players,
if you gave me ten players in five smelt the
buff and we're like, oh my god, the other we're
just like, oh my god, here we go. I bet
I could pick the five and five you know, of
the ten players who said.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
What Yeah, I think that it's just something that isn't
like wet and dirty, like that's what it is more
because you have zero of anything that is with it,
to be honest.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Like you're like, hey, finally something clean I can white
my face with.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
And it's like when you when you are are in
that state for like two plus weeks, you kind of
forget what fresh feels like. You know, like the smell
is kind of the easiest way to translate that on screen.
But I think it's kind of just like the field
the smell, like the mental reminder of like, oh this
is what's something like when it comes out of the
(06:54):
dry or feels like I completely forgot that sensation and
that's something that you kind of take for granted your
every day Like like like when you pull clothes first
out the dryer and they're still yeah and they smell
like the dryer sheet, you have like five seconds of
like oh that's nice, and then you move.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
You must not have you must not have ADHD.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
There's no way I've ever folded clothes straight out of
the try never.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
There's never a chance.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Enough maybe like like she yeah, yeah, yeah, more urgent
when it comes out of the dryer.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
From life. At one point in time, a.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Few thousand dollars worth of clothes on top of the
dryer at my apartment complex in l A for like
a month, and they're like yeah they're these are now
Everyone's like.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
It's like wearing my shirt, my t shirts, So.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
Like, wait, who knows the value of their clothes? That's
a weird value to know.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Well, I mean I was living in l A.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
I was shopping on Rodeo. I was getting gifted a
bunch of so.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
You gotta you can have my kids in school. I
got this one of my kids' school.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
I mean it was twenty dollars.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Anyway, back to the buffs, I was just curious.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
About kind of like that just on steroids of like.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
It's a touchstone.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yeah, I got Oh, I forgot what it was like
for anything to be fresh, just like.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
But we're but gab gave weren't you more?
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Oh my god, I made the merge more so than
fresh smelling bath like like oh oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
But but of course, remember we had mergatory and that's
kind of the first thing I think we should get
into for here absolutely is that we got our buffs
at the end of tribal council after we voted out Rome,
so like I kind of had more time where it
was like I'm walking out of tribal and I'm not
allowed to talk to anybody and I'm about to get
(08:49):
on the boat to go back to the island, like ooh,
I can really savor this. But like in the moment
when we got the tree mail, like to your point, Johnny, oh,
I was thinking was like, oh my god, like I
get to play now, I finally get to play, And
it was even more exasperated on a new Era season
because you go from playing with six people or less
(09:11):
as you lose challenges in both people out to now
playing with like ten plus people where on a season
like what Johnny's played on, it's like you're playing with
ten plus people from the jump.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
And so it was even more I think for.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Me because I was like, oh, I get to play
with a big group of people, like that's survivor. That's
what Survivor is to me. And I didn't get that
until I got to the Merge. So yeah, it was
a very very very exciting. It was a very very
exciting thing. Roam, the spokesperson for the Cruise Line people,
(09:45):
as Johnny so eloquently put so.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
So I did not I knew that he was a
cruiser though.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
So that's kind of the big thing from this episode, right,
Like that's got to be the biggest deadline, is that.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
No mergatory, no earn the merge. Well, you know, whatever
you love, like.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
We love it.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Everyone great.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Everyone's been waiting for me to be nice, Gabe.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
This is it.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
This is all I've been asking for. I've been asking
for a tribal with a bunch of people. I've been
asking for gameplay. I've been asking to learn about people.
I've been asking for people to lie to each other.
We got everything. This was a wonderful This is what
I've been asking for. So so if I if I said,
like negative Nancy going into this, it's not because I
don't love Survivor, It's not because I want the end
(10:33):
of it. I want Survivor to floors. I want Survivor
to be great. I want great television. Tonight was great television,
and this is what I've been waiting for. And that's beautiful.
Takes a very beautiful take.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Johnny, serious, Bobby, Mergatory's gone.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
What's your initial reaction?
Speaker 7 (10:52):
Mergenatory being gone is the best thing that's happened to
this season. Like, let's be real, Like this season is
so much better for not having merged. And Johnny, to
your point that you just said, we both got bashed
in the comments last week of not being nice to
these people, not being nice about this season. So for
all of you that came and stuck with us, we
will be much nicer now. But honestly, this is the
(11:15):
best episode of the season. This is what we've been
asking for. This is what we've been asking for for
two seasons essentially, where forty eight never gave us that.
In forty nine, it's finally we're getting real Survivor, the
type of Survivor that everyone loves to watch. The number
one thing trending on Twitter right now is juwant Like
that's obviously a reason for that, because the reason is
(11:38):
because this is such an enjoyable season episode.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Excuse me?
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Yeah, wait waite, when when you watch an episode like this,
does this scratch the itch that Old Survivor used to
or maybe even like modern Australian Survivor, Like, what was
it on par for you yet?
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Or is it just moving in that direction?
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (11:59):
I mean, I don't think it's fair to compare it
to Australian Survivor because it's an entirely different show and
casting process. I would say, is this moving in the
New Era moving to Old Survivor? I would say yes,
it's like definitely had feelings of Old Survivor. I mean
it had a lot of stuff that's like New era,
(12:19):
where like, I mean, everybody knows how to play the game.
There aren't people here that aren't playing the game really,
you know, they might have different games, but whereas like
even an old Era Survivor you'd get to the merch,
there'd still be people there that are just like I'm
on a jungle vacation or whatever, you know, like they
just kind of made it along, I guess or whatever.
(12:41):
But everybody here it has and is playing the game.
You know, my joke about Sophie notwithstanding.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
And I think that's something that really got to be
put on display today is we got to see a
little bit of everyone's game, and like that that's something
that you oose outs that we we have lost out
so much on a lot of these New Era seasons,
is that we get to see like three people's games
and that's it, and everybody else is kind of just
a filler character to make you want to cry or
(13:12):
to go find an advantage or to go on a journey.
But it's like the only games that we're seeing through
a lot of New Era seasons are like the three
main characters that survive a disaster tribe in the beginning,
and that's it. And what we got to see in
this episode, and I think we've got to see a
whole lot throughout this season despite there being a disaster Tribe,
is a lot of different people's games. That play, I
(13:33):
feel like I know where Savannah wants to go. I
feel like I've know where she's wanted to go the
whole season, as has Rizzo, as Has Sophie, Sophie Blue
Blue Sophie, Sofi and Sophie now main character Sophie, we
can call it that.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Why do you.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Think there's someone on one or.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
That's now part of them, that was on one of
the tribes, But now now do you think there's one
person they called Yellow Sophie Purple Sophie.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Like when they were out there, Yeah, I mean surely
not right because they don't know. I mean I think
I feel like I would have known, you would have
been like, ah, they're not putting you in this.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
I know that you know your name is Purple Sophie.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Right, Can we just go ahead? Lock?
Speaker 5 (14:19):
Like like, like, go ahead and change her Twitter at
the second you get back to Purple Sophie.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
But like, like, I feel like I know where now
after this episode where Yellow Sophie aka Purple Sophie, I
feel like I know where her game is heading. I
feel like I know, Yeah, I agree. Every time we've
gotten her, I've liked her, and over the past three
weeks we've been getting, like, you know, a steady drip
more every week of her I feel like I know
(14:44):
where Steven wants to go with his game. I feel
like I know where Jowan and Alex want to go,
Like everybody that's left on the season, I feel like
I have an idea of how they want the rest
of this game to shake out.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
And that's not something that a lot of New Era
seasons say.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
That's not something that I'd say any New Era season
can say, with the exception of forty nine and forty seven,
and like that. That's a victory for this season is
that it feels like there's a lot of different players
with clearly defined game plans that all seemingly have an
equal chance of actually coming to fruition. So we're kind
(15:20):
of going around everybody comes together on the same tribe side.
Note something I really don't like that Survivor does, and
I'd have to go back and watch old seasons to
see if this is something that's always happenings. I've built
up enough equity with our listeners that I don't think
I'll get slammed in the comments for this. But when
we're in like episode seven, episode eight, when we're at
(15:42):
the merge and people are like, we'll let my job
I do this so this will work.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Like that upsets me.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
And we got one instance of it with Alex, both
on the show and in real life, where he was like,
I'm used to working with all different kinds of people,
because in DC, I work with all different kinds of people.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
It's like, Bro, you are no longer Alex the DC
Capitol Hill guy.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
You are now Alex from the Blue Tribe on Survivor
forty nine. Like, I get why you want to do
that in the first couple episodes, because that's how you're
establishing people, not only but on the show long enough.
But you've got enough screen time. We know what you're about. Now,
we know you as Alex. You don't need to be
Alex the the DC guy anymore. Like you're just Alex.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
You know, that's an editor thing. It's not his fault.
That's an editing you know what, I might I might.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
Give Alex a little credit here, a right, so we're
at the merge, right, maybe it's a producer from from
one of the other tribes that.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
Hasn't worked with It's like, hey, remind us who you are?
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Sure and that's a knock one on the producer, then yes,
because I don't know Alex's fault. Let me be clear,
it's not his fault. It's the editing and it's the
producers who are doing that confessional. But it's just like,
all right, yeah, you work on Capitol Hill, bro, like
we know, we know, so.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
The real quick I got it so uh at the
beginning of the episode, you know, once the boat shows
up and all that. Anyway, uh, they we get the
the intro video they showed everyone.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah that's on the season.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
I don't know if that continues next week or not,
but I am okay with everyone being on this intro video. However,
next week, I would prefer just the uh, just the
people on.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
The mer you mean, like the opening crawl, Like, yes, yeah, the.
Speaker 5 (17:36):
Opening crawl and I don't who survivor South Africa did
the best thing I've ever seen so post merged, they
only show the people from uh uh from that are
on the Merge. But once you're voted out on the Merge,
they black and white.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
You Yeah, that's cool. That's yeah, that's very cool.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Now that's I like that a lot. I would be
down as a producer. I would be down, Bobby.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
I think it's great.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
Can I just say one thing, like, and I'm not
gonna gripe on anything on this episode. I thought this
is a great episode. The one thing I want to
gripe on and I think this is fair. We are
halfway through the season, and now you're expecting us to
completely change someone's name in Sophie, Like, I'm sorry, You've
given us Sophie the entire season, and now all of
(18:27):
a sudden, you're expecting us through preseason press everything. Now
you're expecting us to just be like, oh, it's soph Like.
I know it's not a huge difference, but to me,
it kind of rubs me the wrong way. I'm like,
I would have rather blue Sophie yellow Siphie, which we
kind of got used to at this point. But to
go Sophie and soph It's is not confusing? Is it
(18:48):
not frustrating? Or am I on an island here, Johnny?
Speaker 6 (18:54):
I think it matters game. If they both have games
that matter, then you gotta work that out.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
They do they based on the pre the pre merge edit.
I feel like only one of them has an edit worth.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Yeah Sophie, Yeah, no, I don't. I don't.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
I don't like two people with the same like uh
Me and Bananas did House Civilians and I literally called,
like we found out we were both on and so
I'm just like, are we fighting over the name?
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Johnny is like, dude, your name is fair Play, my
name's Bananas. I'm like done.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
It was easy. Yeah, yeah, But I don't.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
I understand if, like back in the day when you
receive eighty thousand videotapes and people wanted to be on
Survivor while there were two fucking Ryan's on Survivor Pro Islands,
why did there need to be too right.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
And on the same tribe?
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Yeah, yeah, and like it didn't seem like like blue.
Sophie was very keen on being so Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Yeah that I'm kind of the startled the show over here.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yeah right.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
She was like Okay, when she was like how about
Sof and Sophie, it was like all right, like that,
I thought the whole thing was kind of silly.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
I'm going to make a future projection. Okay, next episode,
Sophie doesn't win is voted out, and then the episode
after that, Sofi comes out and is like I'm Sophie now,
I'm the Sofia.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
That's good.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
And do you guys remember Purple Sophie.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
So we're all on the same beach and they are
kind of they're they're they're they're socializing blah blah blah.
And then oh my god, there's an advantage out there.
There's an advantage, and there's keys h and all over
the jungle and the loss of chest and whoever gets
the right key gets the advantage for the first individual
immunity challenge.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
I hate that ship.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
I was gonna ask the I was gonna ask. I'll
start with you, Wane. What do you make of these
day one merge like advantage hunts that they do, because
it's become a pretty common thing now through the new a.
Speaker 6 (21:13):
Yo, we've dealt with all productions, nonsense, all throughout these
three tribes down to two tribes, back to three tribes,
up and over and under a puzzle and all this stuff.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
We're at the merge. We just want to play survivor.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
You want to tactually hide, you know, and idle here
there to keep it interesting.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
That's cool.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
But this like show up and like okay, now go
get something. It's so like contrived and like just like
takes you out of like any realm of like, oh,
they're surviving on an island. Well, no, here's a boat
with visitors that you know, tells them to go do this,
and I'll do that, And I just.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
I hate this kind of stuff.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
I mean, ultimately they end up not really mattering that much,
you know, because like you know, I can't tell you
time someone's done one these and it's it's like they
actually took advantage of the advantage. You know, they usually
don't win, you know, when they start the second leg
or whatever.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Bobby, I'll go to you first. I mean, so we're
talking about the whole keys and trying to unlock the chest.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
I honestly don't even just like this is something that
happens every season now that they want.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Don't mind it.
Speaker 7 (22:23):
I actually think that it's something fun for when they're
all merged. But I wish it was something more advantageous.
I don't like that it's just an advantage in the challenge,
Like I want it to be something where it's almost
secretive and it's an advantage at the merge, Like that's the.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
One advantage you're going to give anyone at the merge.
Speaker 7 (22:42):
Everyone has a chance at it, everyone has a fair
shot to get it, and they get to find out
what the actual advantages in private.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
That I'd be all for.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
I'd be all for the stakes being raised. If this
thing they have to do is damn near impossible, like
like whatever whatever it is, that's it's like such a feat,
then it's like all right, you get this thing or whatever.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
But then again you win it.
Speaker 6 (23:12):
Everybody knows you win it because they have to know,
and then you have this target on your back.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
No, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (23:17):
If they reveal in private, like like if whoever got
the one? You know, like there there's there how many
people are in the merge?
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Ten eleven eleven?
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Okay, there's eleven keys. One of them is the magic key.
Speaker 7 (23:31):
That's it, And like they could do it where you
could all have to go into your key in private,
and so they don't know who's kenny was the right key.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
But someone wanted.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
You find tribe, You find out a tribal if your key.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Was the yeah, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
We had this one forty seven and it was just
there was no game to it. It was just the
advantages hidden somewhere, go find it, and we all searched
for maybe ten minutes and then we all stopped and
we all went back to camp. But we were sitting
in a big circle just talking to each other, and
I was sitting next to Saul, and Saul was so
(24:08):
angry that no one was looking, but he didn't want to,
but he he didn't want he didn't want to be
a thing. So we just kept leaning over to.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
Me, going what the fuck are we doing right now?
And I was like, but he goes, there's.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
An advantagy out there and nobody's looking for what the fuck.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Are we doing?
Speaker 2 (24:25):
And like part of me was like, Okay, maybe he's right,
But and then I remember I lean over, I go.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Are you going to be the first one to get
up and go look again?
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Because I'm not, And he goes, fuck no, And then
we all just sit there and then eventually Jenneteeve goes
off on her own and she finds it. So here's
my issue with I think I kind of lean more
with Wayne on this that I don't think the players
want to do that. Like I think when the players
finally get to the merge, and maybe we were a
(24:55):
bit more, a bit less inclined to one a part
disipate in this because we had no swap, so the
people who were on the other tribes you never got
to talk to until we merge. So I think that
is a big difference that we had that other seasons don't,
especially not this season where they flip flop flip flop
bill all the time. But like when you get to
the merge, like kind of to Wayne's point, I'm ready
(25:17):
to start like socializing and strategizing.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
That is my priority.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
And I think now that the meta is pretty set
that it's like, this is something that will help you
in the first challenge, and that is it. I wouldn't
be surprised that people are are not super into it
as players. I think as if you experience it's like whatever,
you know, it's another big hunt that everybody gets to
participate in. But like as a player, I remember being like,
(25:43):
I want to sit down with people right now. I
want to sit down with people. I want to talk
to people I haven't got to talk to. And I
was not a free agent really, but I was kind
of putting myself out there as a free agent at
the time, so I was like, I want to start
putting my hooks and as many people as I possibly
can hear and like I'm not really into like getting
in the dirt and like trying to find a tiny
key or something.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
I kind of already did that.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Like I want to do something I haven't got to
do yet, which is go talk to Sierra, which is
go talk to Sault, which is go talk to Teeny,
which is go talk to Sam. So I'm okay with it,
and I don't want to be too greed. We got
rid of mergenatory. Let's be happy with what we've been given.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Right, is that not the attitude very happy.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
I'm going to shock you because I like it, Like,
I like it's just it's it's it's just kid games.
I think it's quick, I think it's easy. I think
I think it's fun. I like if I if someone
someone was just like, all right, you have a choice.
We can either do this bullshit or show the schoolyard pick.
(26:45):
I'd rather see the schoo yard pick because there's more
emotion there and and and like we literally learned there's
a schoo yard pick that we didn't see in a
nine e minute episode. And I'm like, I'd rather see
the schoolyard pick. So, but as I said, I like
kids games. I think it's fun. Like, you know, if
there's something I'm going to complain about, this is not
it like like I'm all for it. However, I like
(27:07):
Bobby's compromise. You know, let's do the reveal in secret.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
So Sophie Saigretti wins the advantage.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
She we we we get.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
My girl happily married. But I love Sage.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Are you a big Sage fan? Wayne Man?
Speaker 6 (27:29):
I want to hang out with Sage because we'll just
sit and eat beans and fart together.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
I'll be so fun.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
Heads man, that's fine. I don't really have any good skin.
Uh yeah, no, I just think she's fun.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
I like her.
Speaker 6 (27:45):
She uh gave you wouldn't know her, but Johnny, she
gives me like a little bit like Chrissy vibes from
Australian Survivor.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
There is, there is, there is.
Speaker 6 (27:57):
Not listen, not the black heads and the weird like farts.
I don't think that's like Chrissie's alley, but a weird
like kind of figuring it out, a little bit of
an agent of chaos, like definitely not given enough credit
for the strategy that she's playing, and like kind of
the odd ball now like Chrissy had you know her,
she I don't think she was like an odd ball,
(28:18):
but she's a little survivor oddballish.
Speaker 5 (28:20):
Yeah, that she was a fish out of water, gave
there there was a player named Chrissy who I'm good
friends with, and and and uh Wayne's gotten to know
and and uh she played survivor. She had no idea
like it was a blood versus water and and so
her her brother was like an AFL legend or whatever.
(28:41):
So so she's out there and she finds a clue
to hitting unia Iol.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
She goes, is this a love letter from Jonathan?
Speaker 5 (28:52):
No, it's a clue that she was like, pretty sure
it's a love letter from Jonathan, And I'm gonna.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Pretend it's that was like, yeah, I know. I'm just
like I'd really rather be a leve letter from.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Can I be honest? Can I be honest with you?
Speaker 7 (29:13):
Sage is quickly becoming one of my favorite players on
this season.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
She has such a good read on the game, Like.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
Her read is shockingly because I'm just like, there's no
way this girl knows what's happening, and she has known
everything that's happening this entire time.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
Dude, I'm so mad I didn't get to be on
Last Week and talk about her and Shannon. I mean
I fell out when she like did that, My god.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
I lost it. It was so it's so good.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Jessica.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Jess go watched Last Night with Last Week with me
and shecause was just like I like her, and.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
I tweeted last week I was like, Sage is an
entertainment machine. Every time she's on the screen, there's something
where you're either gross out or you laugh or you're
like that was Savage. Like, there's always it's something, and
there's there's a lot of players, especially a lot of
New era players nowadays, who they're they're on the screen,
(30:14):
whether it's in a tribe or in a confessional or
at tribal and you leave that scene and you feel
nothing and you're just like, all right, what's next. Sage
is not one of those people. Sage is every time
you're like, oh my god or oh my god or
oh my god. Like there's always something that you feel
after Sage is on the screen. And that's why I
(30:35):
like her a lot, is She's just entertainment. Every time
is Sage star is Sage star star wars screen time.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
Yeah, I feel like she's like.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Well, here's here's your Sages. And this is a very
easy comparison to make. But I think it's easy for
a reason because it's true.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
She's Carolyn. She she is Carolyn. She's the same exact
player as Carolyn is.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
And I don't I agree.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I wondered to be Carolyn. I think she's gonna be Star.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
No, but if you break it down.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Because she has the screen time, that star doesn't happen.
Speaker 5 (31:11):
Yeah, but I can see the screen time ending next episode.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
She is weird, she is quirky, she makes crazy faces,
she has very weird hobbies, and and she's the most underrated,
overlooked character on her season amongst her other castmates.
Speaker 5 (31:31):
That again, star stars overlooked, had the awareness and had
the one liner.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
But she doesn't have the screen time.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Yeah, not the screen time, So Gabe, your time ends
next week. She's more Star than Carolyn.
Speaker 7 (31:46):
Fair gate to your comparison to Carolyn, I don't think
Carolyn had the awareness that Sage has. I think Sage
is much more savvy and aware of what's actually happening.
If she heard that, that's fine. But also Carlyne also
didn't make the moves that Sage is making so stage
in this episode and last episode, made the moves to
(32:08):
improve her own game that she mostly had to make.
Carolyn was always in a position where she didn't have
to make that move. Someone else would make that move.
Sage is visibly the person making the move. Yeah, And
I think that's the big distinction. I told I agree
with that. I think Carolyn had the awareness of Sage.
I think she had a great read of the game.
(32:29):
I think she was way more aware than people gave
her credit for. The big difference is the the the
action behind it, the agency.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Sage has a ton of agency where Carolyn kind of
knew what was going.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
On but never did anything with that information and used.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
As much agency as she had.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
And that's fair. I totally agree with that one hundred percent.
So we get to the challenge. It's very akin to
forty seven's challenge where the now merged tribe splits into
two try and you have to do a challenge to
earn the merged feast stage. By getting the secret advantage
on the island gets to forgo the team portion and
(33:09):
go right to the individual portion where you compete for
individual immunity. The challenges you dig a big Indiana Jones
ball out of the ground, you roll it, you jump on,
and then you do a puzzle at the end, I'll
say as a saw puzzle. Did he say word I
think he said it. I think he said word puzzle
at the end. Yeah, Wayne, to catch you up. Me
(33:32):
and Johnny put a bet down last week.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
Yeah, I listened, listen, listened to the podcast when I'm
not on it so I can keep up.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
I know, I listened to the whole thing this week.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I think he did say puzzle. I couldn't. I think
he said word puzzle once.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
He said a word puzzle.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
So as a quick note, Juwan, because they caught up
right the the the losing team was losing, and then
they caught up when they were both down to two
pieces left and Juwan had the middle piece and he
kept trying to put it.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
And I was I was literally like, why are you
doing that?
Speaker 7 (34:05):
That's clear when they were when there were four pieces
in Did you guys not already know what the saying was?
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Like?
Speaker 4 (34:12):
I it was.
Speaker 7 (34:13):
So obvious, Like I was like, that's a survivor. I
was like, I said, how are they not understanding? This
is exactly? And when it was like do it and
then it said Survivor on the butt, Like how do
you not know that's how you do it on Survivor?
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Dude?
Speaker 2 (34:27):
The whole time I was like, Jawan, please, for the
love of God, take two steps to the right and
then shove it in.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
All right? So I have a.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
Question what what qualifies as in? Because I feel like
Nate and them that that that eventually won, Like if
you haven't Parsley in and everything stacked and it's spelling
the words, I mean, like, is there a rule that
it has to be packed tighter than a turtles packer or.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
Like, but what's the ruling?
Speaker 2 (35:01):
I think I would say, if the peace stands up
without your support, it's in. That's what I and you
can and you can read it from afar even if
it's a foot out.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
I think that's where I'm mad, because I'm just like,
I feel like you're good enough.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
But Jeff said something, right, He said something like they
can't get it in or something like that.
Speaker 6 (35:24):
He said that they didn't have it in all, Like,
they didn't even have it attack.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
It's gotta be a free standing.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
It would have fell down on the ground.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
I feel that.
Speaker 5 (35:37):
If I were on a future season and gave you
were out there with.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Me, yeah, of course, but.
Speaker 5 (35:45):
Before before we're sabotaging one another. If it's remotely and
just like keep going, we're good, I'm willing to roll.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
The dice on that.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
I think so too. Yeah, especially when that's close like that. Yeah,
I think so.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
And then I think it's just like you know, it's
it's like it's in but it's I'm.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Like, it's yeah, like I'll fight the battle afterwards.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
If there's like I'll happily fight that battle.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
The pieces are in place, you can read.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
It, or yeah, yeah, I think I fight that battle
after I'm dying on that hill. Yeah, I think so too,
especially if it's that close, if it's like one or
two pieces away and we're both there, both tribes are there,
I think I'm fighting that battle.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Or if I'm five pieces ahead, I'm like, hey, we're like,
we're good. Yeah, making me force it afterwards, fine, Yeah,
I'm gonna make you tell me do it.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
Yeah, So that's the move.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
I agree with that.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
I agree with that, and it kind of seemed like
they didn't think the same thing. They were kind of
really trying to Nate was shoving that thing.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
He was that thing.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
I feel sorry for his girlfriend.
Speaker 7 (36:55):
So I just got a question about the second part.
H I'm still brother apparently, second part of the veto.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Oh my god, so a veto? Wow, oh my go,
my god?
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Who do you have tomorrow Againeah?
Speaker 3 (37:12):
I have Rachel Riley on tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (37:13):
So I've been doing a lot of Big Brother research todays,
so my head's got veto and and all that.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
What time, Kim, can we see you in twelve thirty Pacific?
Speaker 7 (37:23):
If you can make it twelve thirty pm Pacific or
three point thirty Eastern. I will be interviewing Rachel Riley
live here on stream. It's a Q and A get
your super chats in. If you have a burning question
you've always wanted to ask Rachel, I will be answering
it there. I apologize for the Big Brother lingo. I've
been literally doing research all day so my brain is
(37:43):
stuck on that. For the second part, immunity, did you
ever do the whole ball on the stick thing?
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Like?
Speaker 7 (37:50):
And I feel like people like that are servers and
stuff like having to hold trays and stuff that'd be
advantageous to what is your opinion on if you did it?
Speaker 2 (38:02):
So we did not have it. I did practice it
before I went out, though. We had Bo Diddley for
that portion of the game where it was you have
the bow and you have to bounce the ball. Yeah,
And that was devastating for me because that is my
favorite challenge. It is my dad's favorite challenge, and I
(38:24):
practiced it so much. I can do it on one
foot on the ramp with one hand for an unlimited
amount of time, like apparently. I practiced that one so much.
So when we walk into that challenge in forty seven
and I see all the bows set up on the ramp,
I literally say, I whisper to myself.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I go boh fucking didly.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
And I was like, oh my god, I'm gonna win. Yeah,
that's what it's called. Per John Kirk. Yeah, all the
challenges are named after John Kerrhall for the head of
the challenge department, after his favorite classic rock bands and songs.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
So like, oh ship new game, I'm gonna start guessing.
I'm gonna try and start guessing the challenge.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
They're all like puns.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
They all have like punk with someone when you're when
you're trying to ask, Yeah, what song is that?
Speaker 3 (39:13):
I don't know. I'm not a seventy five year old man,
but fired but uh, but they're all ones.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
So like the one with the bucket, where like you
have to hold the bucket, it's wrist assured instead of
rest assured, which is like a led Zeppelin song. I
think I can't remember what the name of the one
I won was where you're like you're in between the
boards and you.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
Have to see you do you even know the one
you won?
Speaker 3 (39:37):
I can't remember.
Speaker 7 (39:38):
I can't remember your arm tied behind your back and
you have to catch the ball like usually huh some emotion.
I don't know what that the song is for that,
but it's called Okay. I thought maybe we called it emotion.
It was called something else.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
I don't know that's that's the official name.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
So so if you go back and you watch that
episode of one on my season when we're all on
the bench and we're all covered in mud and we're
watching them do it, everybody is glued in my head
like that, I can't I literally physically cannot watch. Like
I didn't cry, but I really wanted to cry because
(40:17):
I was like, oh my god, like that. Just the
thought in my head of being back home and having
my dad watched me win Bo Diddley, you got this kid,
was like, oh my god, and that's all I was
thinking about. I was like, he's, oh my god, Like
I could have had this crazy moment with my dad
and I'm not gonna get that because I couldn't do
this fucking puzzle with Rome or this maze with Rome,
(40:40):
like fuck. But I ended up going out and winning
another one that we practiced.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
So it's okay, all all the sins we're forgetting real quick?
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Or is anyone watching a Squid Game? The new one?
Speaker 3 (40:51):
I haven't started, but started.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
I started last.
Speaker 5 (40:55):
Night, and uh, they they they're they're doing the circle.
You know that they're they're doing the next season of
Squid Game and so they're doing the circle with the games.
Speaker 4 (41:07):
I bought the games on Amazon last night.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Really, oh ye are.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
It's nine dollars you get all the games for the circle?
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (41:16):
Really?
Speaker 3 (41:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Johnny Fair plays trying out for Squid Games.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (41:22):
I just so there's a guy that lies about having
h having a kid coming and I.
Speaker 4 (41:30):
I have not watched yet.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
Uh, he said.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
He referred to himself as Eric fairplaying Confessionals. He was.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
He was the camera guy and producer for Myrtle Beach
Survivor that I did.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Interesting, so so real, quick, actually funny. You bring him up.
Speaker 7 (41:48):
He will be live with Lauren tomorrow for our The
uh Squid Games season two the Challenge podcasts that we're
doing him and Laura and go Live.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
They're gonna be talking about the season.
Speaker 7 (42:02):
Fortunately I can't make it because I'll be doing my
Rachel Riley interview. But go check it out, guys. We're
gonna have that podcast all about the first four episodes
of the season. I have watched three out of the
four episodes in the last watch the last one tonight.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
It's better than season one. And it's so good.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
Yeah, it's so good.
Speaker 5 (42:20):
Really yeah, I watched the first two or no, I mean,
I mean I'm almost through the second.
Speaker 4 (42:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
I'm in it.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Guys, we need to talk about dude.
Speaker 4 (42:31):
It is so good. I love it so much.
Speaker 3 (42:34):
Like did you love season one? Yes?
Speaker 4 (42:38):
I did.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Okay, I'll reserve my opinion.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
It's better season one. The one argument you could do.
Speaker 7 (42:48):
Is good is because of the Beast Like like Beast Games,
they have such a big cast that they can't give
a lot of people confessionals. That's the one thing I
don't like is that you you focus on particular people.
And I know that you do it for the storyline,
but I wish they did more people.
Speaker 6 (43:06):
I think ninety nine to Beat is a better version
of the formula, to be honest, I love ninety nine
to beat.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
Wow, I've watched it.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
I dropped off on nine beat after episode one.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
After al I haven't even started it.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Oh, Kara car isn't it? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (43:26):
Anyway back to this survivory. Sorry, we got you know what?
Speaker 5 (43:31):
What's let's all have a beverage right now to uh
the more in the loss of Sandra on.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
Nine to Beat.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
She made it one episode?
Speaker 3 (43:44):
Have you say so? I don't play this.
Speaker 6 (43:48):
Water is fine, but I wish we had something else
to drink, maybe some Watertown whiskey.
Speaker 8 (43:59):
Watertown is Hey, guess what Philadelphia Eagles back to back?
Here we go, super Bowl champions. You see Daniels hit
is the Commander's year? Whoa super Bowl fan? Or the
Watertown whiskey? It's back to back. The Chiefs are going
back and they're winning this time.
Speaker 5 (44:19):
Watertown Whiskey, y'all boys heading on down to eight Mile.
Speaker 4 (44:23):
The Lions got this Watertown Whiskey. It's the AFC's year,
but it's the Chargers. It's only one thing I gotta say,
the Watertown Whiskey.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
J e ts Jets Jets Jets shut on.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
Hartford Whalers. We're going to the super Bowl. They're close
to Watertown. Right. There's one thing we can all agree on,
the Watertown Whiskey. Escape the ordinary. Watertown Whiskey dot com ingk.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Responsibilit Watertown Whiskey dot com. Please drink responsibly whiskey meade
with natural flavors.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
It really is delicious.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
I have the coconut flavor and I no, no, no, no, smoke.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
It's it's actually really good. Uh. And my roommate, whos
an alcoholic, loves it. So there is a.
Speaker 5 (45:26):
Your roommate to your roommate who is an alcoholic, had
the option of Watertown Whiskey or moonshine, tried them both
and went back for the Watertown Whiskey.
Speaker 3 (45:36):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
So we get to the end of the community Challenge.
The first individual munity challenge of the season, Purple Sophie
Sophie Si Gretti goes and wins it, and we we
we kind of get some screen time from Sophie this episode,
more so than we've been getting. Like, she's good, her
confessionals are good.
Speaker 3 (45:59):
I like them.
Speaker 6 (46:01):
Right, there's no reason that we haven't seen her unless
she's like a final three person and this is the
beginning of her journey.
Speaker 4 (46:07):
But very I mean, I like, why haven't we seen
her before?
Speaker 7 (46:13):
Now?
Speaker 3 (46:13):
And she never went to tribal, she's never went to
tribal reason.
Speaker 5 (46:17):
To Yeah, and she's she's getting she's got the island hot.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
Look like like some some girls and guys.
Speaker 5 (46:24):
Not not not being sexisty or folks, some guys and
girls that they get island hot out there, Sophie's get island.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
Hot, respect to Purple Sophie, according to Johnny getting the island.
Speaker 3 (46:36):
So I think, what's that? I think she's the next
one out. I think that's too Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
So she goes, she wins individual immunity, she is safe
for the first vote.
Speaker 3 (46:49):
We get back to camp.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
M C, who we haven't seen a whole lot of
this episode, realizes, oh my god, I.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
Had this beware advantage.
Speaker 2 (46:56):
I haven't completed I have no vote at tribal tonight
I gotta go find this idol so I can get
my vote back and so I can have an idol.
So she goes, she digs up a treasure chest and says,
go to this part of the island and you will
find a key, and that key will unlock this chest
and you'll get an immunity idol.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
She goes to find this.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Key and before she can find it, boom, Savannah jump
scares out of the Who what are you doing over here?
Speaker 1 (47:17):
Yo, Savannah?
Speaker 6 (47:19):
Savannah, she has given me the ick, She has given
me the rum. This this jumping out and just like, hey,
I know you're in the middle of something that really
like definitely affects your game right now, look at me,
(47:39):
Look at me. Man, that is so like disrespectful and
kind of just like, man, I don't know, I can't really.
And then the way that she like was so happy
to raise that machete and bring it down on that
chicken's neck. Boy, those two things combined within five minutes
of each other. I was like, I think I might
be out on Savannah.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
I really, I don't know how.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Tweet that I got earlier was actually Wayne's burner wow
during the episode, and I said Savannah being eager to
ax the chicken as fun as hell. I don't care
what people say. If you ain't start for two weeks,
don't judge. An anonymous account replied to that and said
fun as hell. Try gratuitous and cruel a game that
(48:26):
she c h O s E chose to play so
she's not starving. Bitch should have eaten a sandwich before
she came to the island. That waynes Burner account.
Speaker 1 (48:37):
No, go yourself, what is this on Twitter? X? I
don't have an X.
Speaker 3 (48:55):
This person immediately.
Speaker 2 (48:56):
This person immediately blocked me after making this, and their
bio is vegetarian. Animal lover used to be known as
Rapunzel Brunette who has long brown hair.
Speaker 6 (49:12):
I got a new nickname. They're calling me Rapunzel Brunette
over here. No, I just want to be very clear.
I have absolutely no problem with killing a chicken and
eating a chicken. I am not taking a Pita stance
on this. I just thought she liked it way too much.
She was way too happy and way too quick to
(49:34):
do it.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
Account they agree too.
Speaker 6 (49:39):
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be pumped to cut
off a chicken's neck. I mean I'm gonna do it.
If I have to, I'm probably not gonna do it.
I'm gonna have somebody.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
Else do it. I'm gonna cook it. I'll cook it.
You guys, you guys kill it, I'll cook it.
Speaker 5 (49:52):
Okay, we saw Alex and Geronimo what was.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
His name, doesn't matter what his name is for the
rest of the year.
Speaker 4 (50:06):
Yeah, Gerntimo.
Speaker 5 (50:07):
I had to kill the chicken earlier and that was
quite the fiasco. So me on Facebook request, I'd accept it.
Speaker 4 (50:20):
I got Charlie Buckett.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
I don't have enough room, so EMC in what I think.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
And this is something I was in the same situation.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
Uh, And I opted to do the opposite of what
MC did, and I think perhaps that was a mistake
on my part. MC decides to tell Savannah what she's doing.
She's like, what's the point in her in me lying
to her? Because it's like she she knows something's going on,
so I might as well be she is savvy.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
She is savvy MC, and well, they're both great players.
Speaker 4 (50:55):
They're both so so game recognized games.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
Just like, oh fuck, I'm fucked exactly, you got me.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
I'm looking for something here, And they're kind of just
casually talking and they both spot the ring of keys
at the same time.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
Savannah dives on the ground to try to look at mc.
He doesn't even know what the keys.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
Are for you, and MC manages with her, with her
her great build, her physique and her long arms, goes
and grabs that and snatches it from Savannaho's rolling around
on the ground.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
Dude, milky's in her hands.
Speaker 6 (51:25):
I would hip I would have hip tossed her out
into the ocean. Get the hell out of my keys.
Speaker 1 (51:31):
How are you doing?
Speaker 4 (51:32):
Like what like? That's bull move cotton.
Speaker 3 (51:36):
Let's see if it works out.
Speaker 6 (51:37):
Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, but here, let me just so,
let me just bring something up because I've sat here
on the podcast. No, no, you hold on. I've sat here
on the podcast and watch you rail and rail and
rail on Rome because of the bully game that he
was playing with Saul, And this is this is the
fucking bully game. That's the same thing. Mind your own
fucking business. Is what's happening here? And don't go for
(51:59):
my keys? Are you can? I can't believe mcn just
go back and blow up her game, because I guarantee
you with this Kumbaya tribe.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
If she had said, hey, guys, I got this for
weare advantage whatever, like she could spin the idle thing.
I'm fucked.
Speaker 6 (52:12):
But like, let me just tell you what Savannah is
doing out here, Like, let me just tell you what
it I just experienced and in Savannah's the next person
out of this game.
Speaker 5 (52:21):
No, no, no, I'm calling it about okay, you what
is you guys are having a casual conversation, attempting to
play play nice and you make a like you're telling
me right now we can never play nice?
Speaker 2 (52:40):
Yeah, and I agree it is a bully move. It
is different than Robe though it is.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
No I know, I know. No, I'm not saying it's
the same thing I'm saying, but I think.
Speaker 2 (52:51):
It's an interesting thought to explore though, because it's like, well,
why is it different than Rome?
Speaker 3 (52:55):
Right?
Speaker 2 (52:56):
And I would say that what did was there was
no advantage at play? He said it was so that
Saul didn't go find an idol. Right, But there's a
difference between.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
Just saying like, can I have a second away from you?
Speaker 2 (53:09):
I'm not gonna go look for an idol, versus I
have a treasure chest in a rin Oh yeah, like,
so I think there is, but it is a bully move.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
It was one hundred percent of bully move.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
It's fair.
Speaker 6 (53:21):
It's fair as long as no one like hurts each other.
I mean, it's totally fair. I'm just saying, like Savannah
really like showed her game kind of honestly, I'm gonna
say her game's weakness. It's gonna be your downfall. It's
what made me think, like this episode is like this
ain't this ain't a winner at it? This is they're
putting this out there, be like, nah, this ain't it.
(53:41):
Don't you don't fall too much in love with her.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Bobby when you see somebody like Savannah do what she did,
which was like, I'm going to invade your personal space.
I'm going to invageer privacy. I'm going to put you
in a socially uncomfortable situation. Is there ever a time
where that is good gameplay?
Speaker 7 (53:58):
No, it's never good game And I go back to
what happened with MC with her diving on the keys,
that's instant. I can't work with you. As soon as
she does that, there's no going back. You either get
those keys and then you sabotage her having a vote
or you don't get those keys, and you'll never be
able to work with that person again because of the
move you just made.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
It's playing too hard, too quickly. And here's the thing.
Speaker 7 (54:22):
I'm all about aggressive gameplay, but subtle aggressive gameplay. Sure,
when you are diving on keys where you're in a
position where you just merged and you barely know this person,
you've only known them for a short time because you
were on a small tribe together, what one vote that's instant, like, no,
we're not working together, we're clearly against each other.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
That person can then go back to decide that they
were originally on and be like, look, this is what
she did. Clearly it's us versus them. There's no benefit here.
Speaker 7 (54:52):
The fact that she then tried to game it in
a way where she's like, listen, here's the facts, here's
what we need to do. And the fact that em
C was and I love the editing in this in
this plane where they played her like kind of fogging
out to the noise of what Savannah, because I think
that's exactly what happened, and I think that's exactly what
(55:14):
happened to anything she has to say, it's representative for
the rest of the season for MC, where MC is
gonna tune out to whatever she says because she knows
she can't trust her. It was just too aggressive and
you're barely at Merge. It's not Final five, it's Merge.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
And and and she does realize that.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
Savannah does say at one point like don't go crazy,
and then she does choose to walk away.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
But I was gonna say, is the damage done?
Speaker 4 (55:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
I can't speak for MC, but in my mind it is.
Speaker 5 (55:48):
I think I think Savannah has played a great game
thus far. You see, you know, you see the awareness
and all that, and the strategy that strategically.
Speaker 4 (55:58):
Was a horrible movie goes, what do you gain?
Speaker 5 (56:02):
If you get it, then then you're you're you're playing
keep away and you're in you're kind of an asshole.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Okay, show me what you have, show me what you have,
show me what you exactly Okay.
Speaker 5 (56:11):
And and and so I feel the move is she's
you you point, you know, like, hey girls, right there, and.
Speaker 4 (56:20):
You got something.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
I'm running. I'm running.
Speaker 4 (56:23):
I don't want to work with them.
Speaker 5 (56:25):
I still think you make the points like hey girls,
right there, you got for as as much as as MC.
Because She's like, hey, she she could have dove for
like a fucking bully, but she didn't.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
I agree.
Speaker 5 (56:41):
Win on that and said, you're either an asshole or
you're a bully, Like like, those are the two outcomes
from what you do?
Speaker 3 (56:49):
No, I totally agree with.
Speaker 6 (56:50):
That revenge stream. Let's say Savannah grabs the keys, you'r MC,
what do you do?
Speaker 1 (56:57):
I'll tell you what I do.
Speaker 6 (56:58):
I go back to her, go back to camp, get
her bag, and ask Jean where all those bugs were.
Just fill her bag with bugs until she gives my
keys bag.
Speaker 3 (57:10):
I mean, like that's kind of the point, right is that?
Speaker 2 (57:13):
Like then, if you're EMC, if you were Savannah and
you put MC in that position, what does EMC?
Speaker 3 (57:18):
How is MC gonna off you? Oh?
Speaker 2 (57:20):
Savannah, please please please just give me the keys and
I'll do anything you want. Like no, of course, she's
gonna fight fire with fire. So it's kind of what
do you expect to come from that? And you see
Savannah do some damage control but it doesn't work very well.
I mean, I think that's kind of the whole point
of the Charlie Brown at it that we got of.
It was like I don't care about anything you have
(57:41):
to say, please just get out of here. And part
of me felt like Savannah realized everything we're saying right now,
and it's like I really want to work with you.
I'm so sorry, like I want to it doesn't matter
at that point. But I think it was kind of this,
like she saw Red realize down how crazy. She kind
of looked and was like, you know what, I really
(58:04):
want to work with you. I mean it, like I
really like whatever you have, I won't tell anybody, blah
blah blah. And I think MC was like, you showed
your hand already, like this is saying does not matter,
like you show what you think of me and how
you're playing this game.
Speaker 3 (58:18):
But also great TV. I mean that that was a
great I love a second.
Speaker 5 (58:24):
Of it because I want to see someone like like
it was it was it bad gameplay, yes, but do
I want to see someone play?
Speaker 4 (58:30):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (58:32):
And they were both and it was great. No, I
thought it was great. So what do you do?
Speaker 4 (58:37):
Right there?
Speaker 3 (58:38):
MC goes EMC gets her idol.
Speaker 2 (58:41):
Uh, she now has an idol, and Rizzo has an
idol that everybody knows about.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
Everybody knows about Rizzo's idol.
Speaker 2 (58:47):
And one little snippet that I noticed early in the
episode when they finally merge and they're telling everybody about
the Shannon Bodeau. Did you notice that Sage tried to
pin leaking Rizzo's idol on Shannon. That happened briefly, but
she was like she wanted to vote out Juwan and
she was crazy, and she told everybody about Rizzo's idol.
Now it doesn't matter because MC's already told everybody that
(59:08):
Sage was the one who leaked it. But savvy bit
of gameplay there by, say, used to try to get
ahead of that, and it.
Speaker 4 (59:16):
Was true that Shannon threw Juwan's name out there.
Speaker 3 (59:19):
Oh, and that was true.
Speaker 4 (59:20):
So it was like, it's like, oh my god, this
is horrible. Oh you know what I got all the
endtil we're good.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
All the best lies have a bit of truth in them.
All the best lies have a bit of truth in them.
Unless your grandmother dies, Mike.
Speaker 7 (59:35):
My question to you guys is, did you guys like
the excuse that they came up with for explaining to
the other tribes of how it all went down.
Speaker 3 (59:44):
I was thinking, honestly, I was.
Speaker 7 (59:47):
Thinking that they were gonna say Steven played an idol,
and that's why she went home knowing that they're the
only ones that would have that any kind of information,
and then go from there saying, hey, we're still with you.
Speaker 3 (59:58):
Stephen played in idol. There was nothing we can do.
That's a bet.
Speaker 5 (01:00:03):
That's a better move based on the fact that it is
emerged and that that no intel can bite them in
the ass. That's a better story. I don't think people,
I don't think. I don't think those three people are that.
Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
Good and is still all right.
Speaker 5 (01:00:21):
David versus Goliath was made for Christian Hibiki to win
and he didn't, and Nick Wilson was the backup plan.
They wanted a nerd to win David versus Goliath. Like
that was the like if if it could happen, and
it happened. That's what happened, and that was the goal
and it worked. And I don't think there was any manipulation.
(01:00:42):
I just think Davi vers Goliath, it's a better story
if a David wins.
Speaker 4 (01:00:46):
I mean, like that's the story of Davis.
Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
I feel this season is the story of ris God,
and Stephen.
Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
Is the backup ris God.
Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
How so he's the He's the.
Speaker 5 (01:01:01):
Low button ver version of Rizzo like, I think they're
literally the same character, like like.
Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
Like Ryan Reynolds.
Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
Also and also Tamu Rizzo like.
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
Risk, God, great, I'm still waiting for him.
Speaker 4 (01:01:21):
I haven't seen him yet.
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Well, well, let let's let's get into it, because I
think we did see him a bit tonight. Yeah, so
so we we we we see, you know, after Sophie
Sagretti goes and wins immunity, we see it's either going
to be an Olie or it's gonna be a Heene.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
Tonight it's gonna be a red. It's gonna be a yellow.
That's been the story the whole season.
Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
Go back to immunity. Shark to necklace.
Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
I thought it was bad ass. I liked it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
I even one of the coolest immunity necklaces in the history.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
Good.
Speaker 3 (01:01:49):
I really like it. I do.
Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
I like the bat on forty seven.
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
Oh, I love the bat awesome. I think that the
skeleton bat is sick.
Speaker 5 (01:02:02):
So so new Era possibly ever to two of the
greatest immunity necklaces ever.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
Yeah, is sick. Yeah. I really like the shark tootholds
a lot, very badass.
Speaker 5 (01:02:19):
So Jeff throws out and it's mentioned in uh. Social
media and interviews that Jeff says, hey, I told this
cast at some point he didn't say it was like, uh, well, Jeff,
is this episode is like why didn't you just say it?
Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
I told him at the merge that there's still spots
for fifty.
Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
Yeah, yeah, so fucking play big if you want to
be on fifty.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
How do you How do you feel about that?
Speaker 6 (01:02:48):
I I hate I again, I don't want to be
negative Nancy, but I hate when they like get involved,
and this is getting involved this like, yes, these did
had not even crossed these people's mind that they would
be invited to just stay on the island and play
Survivor fifty. They had not, They had None of them
had thought going out there, maybe if I play good
(01:03:11):
enough and it's just gonna change the way the game
plays out.
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
I just I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
I'm on the opposite side, shockingly on the opposite So wow, again.
Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
I'm sure it's for good TV. Yeah, Jeff comes out.
Speaker 6 (01:03:27):
But maybe maybe maybe you don't televise that part, Maybe
that maybe this is one of those ones where you
call them out and say, hey, guys, I know you're
having fun out here, you better play.
Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
We got spots for fifty and they're like, oh shit.
Speaker 6 (01:03:42):
And then and then we just see like at this
merge and there, you know, and Survivor gets to regain
this like oh, it gets really good at the merge,
you know, just stick with it to the merge and
then it's like it gets us incredible, and they're they're
driven by this thing that we don't know about. I'm
not mad that he did it. I just don't want
to know about it.
Speaker 5 (01:03:58):
No, I want to televise it because I think it
explains why there's some people from forty nine on fifty.
So that part I'll allow because it makes more sense
I for someone that potentially lost the spot on fifty,
for potential people from this people.
Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
Being on there.
Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
I drive, man, I mean, hey, if you want to
take my spot, go play the greatest fucking game in
the history of the fucking show and take my fucking spot.
Speaker 6 (01:04:29):
Or let these people play and then decide if they're
actually good enough to be on Survivor.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Well, I'm fifty.
Speaker 5 (01:04:35):
If the extra if the extra motivation is needed, I
don't care.
Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
I want I want to.
Speaker 5 (01:04:40):
I love television way I love television. I love good TV.
So if this is what needed to be said, and
if this is what's gonna make these people play a
different game than were there, Dude, the first half the
season sucked. This episode was good. And if it took
Jeff saying you could buy potentially be on f team
to make the season good, I don't care.
Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
I want the season to be great.
Speaker 5 (01:05:03):
I want the second half the season to be the
greatest season I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
What's wrong about that?
Speaker 7 (01:05:09):
I'm on team Johnny right here because I think that
Jeff said it seeing the riding on the wall with
how predictable the first half was, where it was just
a lot our try versus driversus tribe, like everyone is
playing a very safe game that he was saying listen, yes, yes,
but he was saying, listen, if you want to be
(01:05:31):
on fifty, spots are still open. Played the game, and
I think that's where it kind of opened people's minds.
I think he was using as a boost for the
rest of the season, which he has gone on record
saying that the second half of the season is better
and it is really good.
Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
I think that's what he did it for.
Speaker 7 (01:05:47):
And honestly, if we get that gameplay, if we get
that kind of excitement and rejuvenation in Survivor.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
Again, I'm all for it.
Speaker 7 (01:05:58):
I have no problem with it if it's gonna give
those people the boost thinking, Hey, I'm not just playing
for now, I'm playing for fifty, Like let's go, let's go,
balls to the wall.
Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
Now, I'll say it would have been much worse in
my opinion, if he said two people from forty nine
will be on fifty, will it be you? That would
have been way over the line for me. Now I'm
just saying, like, hey, it could be you. Spots are open.
Don't forget that.
Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
Spots are open for this.
Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
And I think that Survivor has gotten to this place
where like it's so one line now and it's so meta,
and I think they're finally starting to embrace that. Yeah,
And I don't know if it's a good or a
bad thing, but I don't think they have much of
an of like an option anymore. Like it's become so
out there, Like the spoilers are so out there, the
(01:06:52):
you know, people who used to be on the show
or on everyone's got their fucking podcast talking about every
detail they hear about the show, blah blah blah that
I almost feel like their best option moving forward is like,
what if we just embrace it, Like, hey, look, we
know that we're doing fifty casting. You guys know we're
doing fifty casting. Everybody at home knows we're doing it.
Let's just say it. And if that leads to them
(01:07:15):
playing a little bit better, like I'm down for that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
Again.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Maybe they always had in mind, who like, we will
cast two people from forty nine on fifty no matter what.
I don't think so, and I don't think so either.
But even if I don't think not coming out, I
think we're I.
Speaker 5 (01:07:30):
Think the second half of the season is going to
be great. I think the first half sucked and I'm
sorry it sucked. But I don't fault them, you know,
I fult.
Speaker 1 (01:07:40):
The format the format because.
Speaker 5 (01:07:44):
I thought tonight was great, and obviously because I don't
feel like like, maybe I'm wrong. But if there's two
people from forty nine on season fifty, and if they
sold they stole spots from a Kelly Wentworth, an Abby
Maria uh Uh, Spencer Bledsoe, and a Johnny fair Play,
(01:08:07):
they must play a pretty good fucking game.
Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:08:11):
I agree with all that, and so god Ris god
R I Z G O D so we we see
uh Rizzo kind of start talking to people about his idol.
It kind of comes down and I appreciate the gameplay
here where everybody knows that MC has an idol, everybody
(01:08:31):
knows that Rizzo has an idol, and those are the
two people that people want to get out, right, Yeah,
but we can't get those people out because they have
an idol. Well, okay, who would we go after under them?
And Savannah's name starts getting thrown out. But then everyone's like, well,
what if Rizzo telegraphs that we're going after Savannah instead
of him and he plays the idol in Savannah? All right,
maybe we shouldn't go after Savannah, who's like the third
(01:08:52):
best person.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
To get that.
Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
He would really have to dig deep to play the
idol for. And it's neat and I think that was
the best choice.
Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
I think that's my.
Speaker 5 (01:09:03):
Move if I if I want to hurt Rizzo, my move,
my move, This vote is is neat is and and on.
Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
On the flip side of that, everybody on Savannah and
Rizzo's alliance is thinking the same thing, like, hey, let's
get em C. She's a really big threat, but she
has this idol what if we want for Steven instead,
Because again, if you want to hurt MC and you
can't get her, Steven's probably the best person to go after.
Speaker 3 (01:09:27):
So that's what they opt to do.
Speaker 4 (01:09:29):
But but that.
Speaker 5 (01:09:31):
Speaks volumes of Rizzo's game versus MC's game because MC
are like she's playing it for her, like he's probably
not playing it for him.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Yeah, also very true, like that that kudos.
Speaker 4 (01:09:46):
Yeah, we're not in risk good yet, sir.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
Episode helped right and.
Speaker 5 (01:09:55):
His his his immunity idol's dick is so big that
that it encompasses Hill and Savannah.
Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Which yeah, hey, I I agree with that is like
this this idol was covering two people.
Speaker 5 (01:10:09):
Now when when when I would help Burton win immunity,
like people would be like, oh well Burton and fair
Play are good. Yeah, and I'm like, oh my god,
immunity and they're like, yeah, you're good.
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
Because people thought that he would give his necklace to
you if.
Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
You need it.
Speaker 5 (01:10:30):
I have no idea, like like it was just this
thing and I was just like, well, thank you, I
appreciate that you're saying, like I hope you mean, but
they meant it like that's the thing, Like.
Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
They're just like, oh yeah, fair player burn a good fucking.
Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Like okay, to which I think is is really interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:10:56):
But in this old school or you think that's just
that's universe.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
No, I think it's old school because I think back
a lot to All Stars, the season right after years,
and there's this episode that infuriates me to know when
because I used to be on this Boston fraud agenda
before I got onto the show, that Boston fraud.
Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
I don't hold that I've before.
Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
And actually I tweeted that at him once before I
got on the show, Mariano Boston Fraud period, and.
Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
It was like a year before I got on the show.
But I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (01:11:38):
I don't think. I don't think he saw it because
he got it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
I don't think he's even on the app.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
I don't think he cares.
Speaker 5 (01:11:44):
I think like, whoever is running John Cena's Twitter account
that follows every porn.
Speaker 3 (01:11:49):
Show, Yeah, yeah, exactly, I.
Speaker 4 (01:11:51):
Think they're running Boston Rob's Twitter.
Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
But there's there's this there's this episode where it's when
she survives, when Amber survives the vote that she should
have gone home, right, Yes, but there's a conversation that
happens between two people in that season, and they're escaping
me right now, but they're sitting there and Boston Rob
(01:12:14):
isn't even on the beach, and they're going Rob is
going to be so mad if we vote Amber out,
Like he's going to be so upset if we vote
her out.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
And I remember watching and I was thinking, who the
hell cares?
Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
But that was that old school survivor mentality of like
people didn't really get the game quite yet, like it
was still in its infancy, it was still kind of
being put together, and that was something people thought about,
was like, I don't want to go back to camp
and see Rob be angry at me, Like that matters
to me more than the strategic implications of getting rid
(01:12:53):
of his booth at and like I can't spee you
can speak to her more than I can Johnny. But
I think I see some similarities in the Burton Johnny
thing of like, well, Burton's safe, and if we owe
Johnny out, Burton's gonna be really pissed. And it's like, well,
why does that matter? But it's because those social relationships
drove people's decision making more than strategic relationships did.
Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
In the early years. I think that's where that comes from.
Just my hypothesis.
Speaker 5 (01:13:20):
Do you think the more days instills the social game
more than the.
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
This game that we're playing now.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Yes, but I I think it's more so that there
weren't as many seasons to inform future decision, so they
have sort of know that, like yeah, exactly exactly, Like
like nowadays, it's like.
Speaker 5 (01:13:46):
That's meta survivor versus social survivor.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Oh one hundred and like that's I guess that's kind
of what I'm getting at, is this idea of like nowadays,
you've seen people burn bridges a thousand times over, You've
seen people getting streaming matches a thousand times over, You've
seen show mateses get broken up a thousand times that
it doesn't mean anything, but like, are we gonna break
up the show Man's No one's ever done that before,
(01:14:10):
but Rob's gonna be mad.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
We shouldn't do that. Like, I think it's kind of
that mentality.
Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
I think.
Speaker 5 (01:14:16):
I think the older I think an older casting takes
it back more to social over meta as well. Like
I think there is some older people that are meta
just because they're just like if I ever go back,
I'm not gonna make a mistake. I'm gonna do every
single thing by the book, like, like you know, I
I are told me I need to do this, you know,
(01:14:38):
Like I get there's there's gonna be some of those players,
But I also think there's gonna be some of those
older players that just be like, hey man, we're cool, right, yeah, we're.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Honestly yea honestly, Gabe.
Speaker 7 (01:14:51):
I think that's a post I think that's a post
Samoa thing, Like I think post Russell Hans's first time
on there. Once people saw that the you could play
balls to the wall and really just backsad people and
not really give a ship about it, I think that's
when people realize, wait, this is a game, like we
should just play them.
Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
Yeah that's yeah, No, I I agree with that, And like,
I mean, it was getting kind of late here, but
we could do like a whole episode on how would
change hands, changing tire courses?
Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (01:15:20):
What one?
Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
One?
Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
One last quick thing?
Speaker 5 (01:15:23):
Uh Ambery goes home pre merge on All Stars.
Speaker 4 (01:15:29):
Ethan dated her prior he was planning to get back
with her.
Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
I was gonna say they probably get married.
Speaker 4 (01:15:35):
Yeah, it's Ethan and amber.
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
Which is crazy, which is insane to think about.
Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
We possibly never see Bolster Rob again.
Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
Boston fraud so wow.
Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
We love we see shocking lame friends.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
Now it's crazy, so we we we see these plants
forming right of like, who are we going to do.
Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
In Boss Rob?
Speaker 1 (01:16:01):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:16:01):
My god, how do I live in this world?
Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
To avoid these idle plays biting us in the ass,
we are going to try to go a little bit
deeper to avoid an idle play canceling out who we
want to vote out for the Only side of the
game that is voting out Steven for the Heena side
of the game that is voting out Nate.
Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
We see Sophia a very interesting aside.
Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
Sophie and Alex, the two remaining Kela members, the two
remaining Blue members kind of have their own moment. And
something that I hadn't even thought about until they said it,
which I find fascinating, is that Alex has been completely
integrated into the Heeno side because of how these swaps
have played out, and Sophie has been completely integrated into
the Only side. So we see these two people who
(01:16:45):
went through fire together in the early stages of this
game on opposite sides of the equation. That's a really
fascinating dynamic that we have in this season that I
don't think they've explored until now, and I hope they
keep exploring it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
It showed conversation, yeah, and they're gonna need to be
damage control because we love that conversation with Alex being like, Okay, cool,
let's try and take out Ahena And that's not what happened.
So they're playing their own games now, they are not
playing together anymore. Did Alex I.
Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
Want an episode?
Speaker 5 (01:17:18):
I want Alex and Sophie having that conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:17:21):
Yespisode.
Speaker 4 (01:17:22):
Agree, Like that's my biggest burning question.
Speaker 5 (01:17:26):
After seeing the votes, I'm just like, I need Alex
and Sophie to talk.
Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
Yeah, no, I I totally agree. So we finally get
the tribal Council. There's a whole lot of talking going on,
and Rizzo comes out and says to everybody at tribal
I know you all know I have an idol and
this is like a big he's doing. When's the last
time that we saw a proper I am playing my
(01:17:51):
idol tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
No matter what, we haven't seen that in a while.
Speaker 4 (01:17:55):
I don't feel like it's a Russell Hans move.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
He did it on Australian Survive and it didn't work
out for and he also did it. No, he didn't
do it on Redemption Island?
Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
Did he? I don't know, because I feel like he
finds the idol, but I don't remember. Uh No, I don't.
I think I don't remember.
Speaker 7 (01:18:15):
Now, now you say that, one thing I do want
to say real quick before I know this is completely
off topic and it'll be a quick thing. Is this
gonna be the first season of the New Era where
there's not a shot in the dark?
Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
Used?
Speaker 4 (01:18:28):
Good?
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
Good question, very good question.
Speaker 4 (01:18:32):
Do you like?
Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
I think there's a lot of interesting things that you
can do with it that don't involve like playing it.
Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
Like I like, I always wonder.
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Well, so I'll start with this one thing Sam did
on our season, which was genius. He would count the
votes in the urn to see if anybody played their
shot in the dark before he went up, which is like,
is there a rule against that? It's never been stated.
Also be could you play your shot in the dark
but not hand the scroll to Jeff when he asked
(01:19:12):
for any advantages?
Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
That's my big say.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
Then then then you can say somebody didn't vote last night,
So who didn't have their vote. Who was lying about
their vote? And really it's you, But you can kind
of throw some chaos into the mix. Also, if somebody
gives you their shot in the dark, can you play
their shot in the dark and take their vote away?
Like there's a lot Like George, George has.
Speaker 4 (01:19:40):
Done all the math. That's that's George.
Speaker 5 (01:19:42):
We have we have to get go back to brains
versus brawn here when we get a chance. But it's uh, no, George,
just George's math is so different than any math I've
ever seen. The Survivor and and and and like Shot
in the Dark. He was just like, oh my, he
goes if I'd have a field day with shot the
do I love it?
Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
And I'm like, wow, well yeah, like like if I
have two Shots in the Dark, can I play both
at the same tribal? If I have an extra vote?
And if I can, like, can I play both?
Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
Scroll?
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Like there's so many wonky mechanics that nobody's really delved into.
So I like it for the potential of it, but
I don't like it in the ways that we've seen it.
Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
Yeah, yeah, everything just like uh the U.
Speaker 7 (01:20:26):
I will say the best, like the best version of
It was what Rachel did on your season where she
went and waited to see if there was advantages playing
water and then test the waters and then use the
shot in the dark, and if the shot in the
dark doesn't hit, then use the idol.
Speaker 5 (01:20:42):
That you I love that that that that that was,
I mean, very sad, but again, favorite favorite season in
the New Era right moment.
Speaker 4 (01:20:51):
You know I like that more than Operation Italy. I'll
be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
Oh, I'll be sure to tell her that when I
see her take.
Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
So we see Rizzo tell everybody I am playing my
idol no matter what.
Speaker 3 (01:21:03):
I Am living to see another day here.
Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
And then we get to the vote, but but doesn't
say on who, and he makes that clear.
Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
He says, play it on b D.
Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
Yeah, energy, And that's good awareness by Rizzo understanding like
they he's clocking. He's telegraphing what they are perceiving him
to telegraph, Like he's saying, I know that you guys
know I have an idol. I know that you guys
are planning to vote for somebody that's not me in
case I play my idol. So guess what I'm playing
it tonight, and I'm making it clear I might not
(01:21:37):
play it on myself like it's it's a it's it's
a masterful fake.
Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
It's a big move. And God, but sir, I I'm
seeing it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
I'm seeing it coming.
Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
And and he he doesn't play his idol, MC does
play her idol.
Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
And I have full respect for both of those moves.
Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
Az as hell from Rizzo and I respect the hell
out of that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:03):
But also, MC, you knew that you had a target
on your back.
Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
You knew that Savannah went back to camp and was
taught telling everybody that you found an idol, like you,
you understood the weight of the situation. You played your
idol and guess what you're gonna be there next week?
And then, in my opinion, anything wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
MC is not scared to look for an idol, Laura exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
And that's always the thing with idols, And that's my
philosophy with idols.
Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
If you found it once, go find it again like that,
that's always philosophy.
Speaker 6 (01:22:31):
The only time you don't play your idol is if
you can guarantee that nobody knows you have it.
Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
That's you.
Speaker 6 (01:22:36):
I mean, if if one person knows you have it,
then everybody knows you have it, and then it's an
easy target if they don't know who to vote there, Well,
we flushed the idol. It's an easy it's a it's
a key mechanic. It's a thing that happens all the time.
So you just play it because you're not gonna know,
because you know the merge just happened. If they're all
voting you out, you know it could be a unanimous
(01:22:57):
or whatever.
Speaker 7 (01:22:58):
So exactly my question for you would be, when you
had the chance to find, you know, go through the
different steps to get like a better advanced idol, do
you wish you would have gone to like the furthest
step possible because you did stop at what step two?
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
No, because I always would have played it in that
first tribal.
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
I always would have played no matter what, And.
Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
That was my thinking, and I wish, actually what I
wish is I didn't do the second step because if
I didn't do the second step, nobody would have known,
and I think it would have lowered my threat level
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
Why were you Why.
Speaker 7 (01:23:32):
Were you so on board with playing it on the
first idle if you knew or on the first tribal,
if you knew you had the.
Speaker 2 (01:23:36):
Votes, because what I thought I had the votes I
didn't know I had, So it was it was twofold.
It was a I knew I had. Caroline and Sue.
Those were the two I knew I had. So if
we the swing vote was Tiana and I genuinely did
not know where she was going to go. I felt
(01:23:57):
good about it, but I genuinely didn't know. So I thought,
if this is a three to three tie and I
play my idol, that's one less person on a six
person tribe that's gonna draw rock. And that's an argument
I can make to Tiana during the open debate, where
I can say, look, I'm no longer drawing a rock
if we tie this again, Tk's not.
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Drawing a rock and Sue's not drawing a rock. So
it's you Kai.
Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
You you know you have a thirty three percent chance
of going home versus what would have been a twenty
five percent chance if I don't play this idol. So
it gives me a better argument against Tiana. Well, a
better argument against TK, I guess.
Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
And also, b I really really wanted the free pass
to see how everybody was gonna vote.
Speaker 2 (01:24:39):
If that was like, let's say I found that idol
on the second tribal council, then I don't think I
play it, But because it was the first tribal council,
I really wanted the free pass to see where people
were lying and where people were telling the truth, and
I use that information to carry me through the rest
of the game. That was like, Okay, Sue's with me,
Caroline's with me, and T doesn't know what the fuck
(01:25:00):
he's doing out here.
Speaker 3 (01:25:01):
Like that, That's what I took away from that.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
So that was kind of my and that's why I
have a lot of respect for MC playing it is
because it's like that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
It's kind of the.
Speaker 2 (01:25:09):
Same thing, right, you're at the first merge tribal I
want to see who the fuck line and who's not,
and I want to be able to not be the
recipient of those lies if I end up going home.
Speaker 4 (01:25:19):
So like vot she got no votes and.
Speaker 2 (01:25:25):
Yeah, right, and like that's very, very, very valuable. We
also see Rizzo not play his idol, which I think
is great. I think he knew he wasn't getting votes.
I think he was like, everyone's so scared of this idol,
they will not vote for me.
Speaker 4 (01:25:40):
Yavannah, I lose Savannah.
Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Yeah, exactly, exactly like the worst where Savannah goes and
I can play my idol next time and I know
I'm safe. So I love the way both of them
use their idols. I think Rizzo definitely steals the show
here with his move. I can't imagine or I can't
remember the last time we saw somebody say they were
going to play an idol and they didn't do it.
Like now for you, Bobby, does Rizzo get the best
(01:26:07):
player of the episode?
Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
I would say Sage, I really would.
Speaker 7 (01:26:12):
I would even put Juwan in that category two to
an extent, because I think that they saw the writing
on the wall and we The one unfortunate part that
I would say is between episode the last episode where
Juwan was so like I'm only strong and then all
of a sudden we didn't see what turned him and
then he votes with you know, uh with Steven to
(01:26:34):
get rid of UH Shannon. Then all of a sudden,
now going into this episode, he's like completely I'm with
you too, like we are the three strong, we are,
you know, an alliance? What changed because we didn't get
that in that middle part of last episode, And I
think that for me Sage, I think had to have
(01:26:58):
been the caveat there, right. I think Stage was the
one who really pressed it to Juwan that they are
on the bottom too, that they are the ones that
are getting targeted by ULI as soon as they don't
need them anymore. We saw that in the episode where
she was able to clock it, just as Savannah in
the confessional before was like, listen, as much as I
(01:27:19):
don't think I agree with Age early on in this game,
I need her as a number. And the very next
confessional was Stage being like, I know she's probably saying
that she can't use me, you know, for far in
the game, but she's just using me now because the number,
it was like like she read her mind and it
was like clockword. So, in my opinion, Sage, even though
(01:27:42):
yes she's not technically in the strongest numbers, she has
a strong alliance with Steven. She has a strong alliance
now with Juwan the.
Speaker 5 (01:27:51):
Bottom the bottoms up alliance, the bottoms of the alliance, and.
Speaker 7 (01:27:58):
And it's okay, and she's with Hina, which yes, Steven
could obviously swing back to Heina, but at the same time,
she's now put herself in a position where it doesn't matter.
These other people are gonna go before you, and then
she could always switch back and be like, listen, Juwan
told me to do this, you know, like and she
can use a lot of that too advantage.
Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
I think spot Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Sage, Juwan, and Alex all voted for Nate people that
they thought were locked into the original Uli, Savannah, Sophie,
b Rizzou alliance. Like, the people who have gotten the
most screen time by far this season are.
Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
On the bottom. That's not something to see very often,
and that's good TV.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
These main characters that I've gotten very invested in over
the past two and a half months are like completely
on the bottom. Like other than Rizzo's idol, they should
be lined up and shot down right now by the
majority of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
How do they find their way out of this? I
don't know, and I can't wait to find out.
Speaker 4 (01:29:01):
Hey, Jeff, do you like scary movies?
Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
My question for you, guys, Johnny, do you.
Speaker 5 (01:29:11):
Think they they they edited out the uncles? After all
the negative feedback.
Speaker 7 (01:29:15):
On that would be we got it on this episode
we got Yeah, it was Christina. She said it when
they revealed like we think she said, Uncle Day, Why
you gotta do this to me.
Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
Okay, well I didn't hear from Juwan, which I very
much appreciated because I heard it.
Speaker 5 (01:29:35):
Yeah, but but but did you see the online outrage?
Speaker 3 (01:29:39):
People were very upset with it.
Speaker 4 (01:29:41):
No one likes it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
I mean, it's corny as hell. It's just corny. It's corny. Right.
Speaker 7 (01:29:46):
My question for you, what's worse Uncle Jeff or mister Joff.
Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
Definitely Jeff Uncle Jeff.
Speaker 4 (01:29:54):
Yeah, but but do we hate mister Jeff too?
Speaker 3 (01:29:57):
I would never say it. I don't mind it.
Speaker 1 (01:30:00):
His name's mister Probes.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
Yeah, like yeah, I just I don't think it's good TV.
I don't I feel like TV. I treat the host
is like this whole I don't mind. No, no, here's it.
I will disagree with you, guys.
Speaker 7 (01:30:15):
I don't mind it from Jonathan because he's kind of
like that southern guy, and it's coming from one specific
person that I don't mind it when it's a whole
casting name. Yes, yeah, I think I don't mind its
polite thing.
Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
Yes, I guess all out.
Speaker 5 (01:30:35):
But holy moly, I like, what did you did you
call him props or Jeff?
Speaker 3 (01:30:41):
I called him? Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
I think I just called him Jeff I called him
Sunshine once and that made the episode.
Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
Oh nice, Yeah, I just called him props or Bobby.
Your question.
Speaker 7 (01:30:52):
As we wrap up here, okay, so real quick, as
we wrap it up, we are at the merch Who
is your guys, each one of them gonna go one
by one, who is you winner?
Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
Pick at the merge.
Speaker 7 (01:31:01):
At this point we are one vote into the merge, Johnny,
I'll start with you.
Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
Who do you Who do you have as your winner?
Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Pick?
Speaker 4 (01:31:08):
Who do I like? Or who do I want?
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Either one?
Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
I'm just going with the whole I like.
Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
Okay, who do you like?
Speaker 4 (01:31:15):
Well, no, not who do I want her? Or who
don't like? Who do I want? That's the same. Who
do I like her? Who do I think? I'm gonna
go with who I want? I love?
Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
So?
Speaker 3 (01:31:26):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Why uh?
Speaker 5 (01:31:30):
She She's just fun, She's good TV. This is an
off episode for her. But once again I thought, if
this is the setup for the conversation with her and
Alex and so owns that conversation, I'm real happy coming
out at the beginning of the next episode.
Speaker 2 (01:31:47):
All Right, Gabe, I do really like Sophie a lot
to say, somebody different, I right now I'll say I
like EMC.
Speaker 3 (01:32:04):
I want Savannah.
Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
I think she's been by far the most entertaining player
thus far, and I want to see her climb out
of this hole. That's what I want to see. Who
I would bet on right now, I probably say MC.
I think she's got a lot of equity. I think
she is kind of a big threat right now, but
I also think she's.
Speaker 3 (01:32:28):
To win.
Speaker 5 (01:32:28):
Yeah, she can go to an immunity run.
Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
Right now and she and she'll win challenges.
Speaker 6 (01:32:33):
I think, yeah, I think Sage pulls it out. I
think she's so smart. She reads it so quickly. You
guys have all pointed out about how quick she reads
all these people, and having that information and being correct
with it so often is such an advantage in this
game that it's pretty hard to overcome, even through challenge.
Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
And immunity wins. I you know you know who I want,
all right, Z g O D risk got let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
Risk God Legend baby all right?
Speaker 7 (01:33:10):
And then for me, I think all of you guys
brought up good points for each one of them. I
think Savannah it would be very entertaining in the fact
that she's been at the top. Now she's at the bottom.
How does she rise from this? How does she get
on to fifty? What is the rise and to get
you to that point of winning this game when you
have now crashed and burned in this episode that we've
(01:33:32):
seen right at the merge. However, I still agree with Johnny,
and this was my original take. I think soph aka
Sophie Blue is the winner edit. I'm getting a lot
of winner edit vibes, and I just think she's in
a prime position that even when the numbers dwindle for
Old Uli, I think then Old Heena starts taking the
(01:33:55):
shots at themselves before they take the shot at Sophie
or so. So I'm still going with soph as my
winter pick.
Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
Wow, all right, that's gonna do it for us.
Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
