Speaker 1 (00:04):
He's the Drive with Dale Lolly and Matt Williamson on
your twenty four to seven home of the Black and
Gold Steelers Nation Radio. Welcome back. I'm Dale LOLLI he
is Matt Williamson, and this is the Drive on Steelers
Nation Radio. And Matt we talked a lot of We've
talked a lot of schedule over the last few weeks.
(00:24):
I wanted to talk schedule and how it involves fantasy football.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Okay, heavy by the way, this last week or so,
it's officially fantasy season for me.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
It is. Yeah, So I wanted to talk about So
you look at I'm looking here at a thirty third
team article and Josh Larky breaks down teams with early
season easy schedules and hard schedules and teams with late
easy schedules and hard schedules.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Okay, and I would put more faith in the early
ones than the late ones.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
What when you're gonna play all your game games like, well, you.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Know, we have a better chance of knowing what's happening
then too.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
That's that as well. I got to get to the
playoffs before I start worrying about, oh, this team's got
an easy you know, the last five games are really easy. Well, okay,
that's all well and good, but if you're three and eight,
it's not gonna matter.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah, I say, when I've drafted my fantasy team, rarely
do I go, boy, he's got a great playoffs schedule,
you know, I do start looking at those things like.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
We may trade for somebody. Yeah, right, right, right right.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I know more about the league, you know who's good,
you know, so.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
I start targeting those guys that have the easy schedule.
So his first team with an easy early season schedules
at Dallas Cowboys, at the New York Giants, then they
then they host the Jets, then they're at Arizona, and
then they host New England.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Okay, doesn't sound bad. And there's a lot of continuity
with those teams, you know, with the Cowboys as well. Yeah,
pretty much same o line. I guess, a slightly different
play caller, but fair enough.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
His next team is the Denver Broncos. They open with
Las Vegas at home, Washington at home, then they're at
Miami and at Chicago.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Doesn't sound too terrible.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Those three of those first four games are pretty sweet
for their pass catchers.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, there they are.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
The Miami game Miami game could be a tough one,
but okay, three of the first four a pretty darn easy.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis, Kansas City at home, Houston at home,
and then Atlanta. That is a cake schedule, Yeah, for
fantasy purposes, like Kansas City. They're gonna lose that game
(02:41):
against Kansas City more than likely.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
But it's gonna be a lot of points.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
There's gonna be a lot of points in that game, right,
like target Jaguars, you could be four and oh if
you target Jaguars.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
And what's funny is I just pulled up the schedule
grid because that fourth game is their first of two
in London, and I really like their chance is a
winning the second one in London, and then they play
the Colts again when they come home. You know. So
the first six weeks is pretty nice for.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
The Jet Ye it's pretty favorable. The Saints Tennessee at
home at Carolina on Monday Night football at green Bay
and then Tampa Bay at home.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
I don't want to think of Carolina and Green Bay.
I mean there's talent on both those defenses. Carolina's defensive
coordinators well thought of green Bay doesn't get close to
what they should out of their talent on defense. But
Tampa and Tennessee don't look bad.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah. The Eagles go figure at New England.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
New England's on a lot of these lists.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Yeah, no kidding. Minnesota Thursday night game against Minnesota at home,
which makes a difference. Then they're at Tampa Bay on
Monday night football, so they really get like a fourteen
day or ten eleven day break there, and then they
get Washington at home. Not horrible.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
I think the defense is tough. I don't know what
to think of the box.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah, I'm not sure either. But again, if if the
if the offense stinks in the defensive space, yeah, and
the defense is on the field forever, especially.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Late in the season. You really with some of those
teams where they just can't do.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
It, they just wear it down. Yeah, the forty nine
Ers are on this list. At Pittsburgh at the Rams,
Giants at home on a Thursday night game at Arizona
at home. That is. I mean the Steelers, the game
in Pittsburgh is going to.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Be tough for them, right, but the.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Next three are soft.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
I want to play the Rams all the time.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yeah. At Los Angeles the Giants at home on a
Thursday Night and then Arizona.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeh, yeah, that is pretty favorable. That was San fran
But who's their quarterback?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I guess is obviously right. Yeah, that's that's what we
don't know. Here's some players with an easy, early, easy,
early season schedule. Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs pass catchers.
They get Detroit in week one, Jacksonville at Jacksonville in
week two, the Bears at home in week three, and
then at the Jets at the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Ooh, Vikings d I think is in for a long year.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
That's a like Pat Mahomes could come ripping out of
the gate this year and in the first five games
have twenty five touchdown passes.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Not to mention that Lions game is standalone opening night,
Thursday Night. Bring the rings, give them the rings.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, the city sacrifice the Christians to the Lions.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah right everywhere. Oh, by the way, the Bears are
right there with the Rams. For me, of defenses, I
want to play, Oh yeah, that's a bad group.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
I mean, what's the tough defense that they facing that?
What's the is it?
Speaker 2 (05:50):
I guess the Jets Jets are top, Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
But I'll you know, that's fine. That's a that's a
heater there, justin Herbert and the Chargers pass catchers Week
one versus Miami, all right, but if that's at home.
Week two at Tennessee, they don't have any cornerbacks. Yeah,
Tennessee d Week three at Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I think they're in trouble too.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Week four the Raiders at home.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
That's a pretty bottleless too.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Those next three after that game against the Dolphins, those
next three games are like giddy up.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah, I mean these are the kind of things like
I have not done any of this kind of research,
but that breaks ties for me when I'm drafted, Like
do I want fields? Are Herbert or Borrow or Herbert?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Like?
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Ah, that first six weeks looks really nice.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Yeah, that's pretty sweet.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
See, here's one where I can't. Jordan Love and the
Packers pass catchers. I don't care what the matchups. Week
one they're at Chicago, Week two at Atlanta, so back
to back road games. Then they come home and play
the Saints. Week four against the Lions, and then week
five is at the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Okay, Raiders and Bears look great, Yeah, but I mean
the youth of that pass catching corps, including the quarterbacks.
I mean, I don't know they can take advantage of it.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I don't know if I don't want to go there.
I just don't know that I want any of those guys.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Because those defenses are probably saying the same thing, like
all we got yeah we got Jordan Love right right,
right right, and rookie pass catchers.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Gino Smith and Seattle's pass catchers. Week one and home
against the Rams.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Week two at Detroit, Week three versus Carolina. See, I
don't know, I you can put Detroit. I don't know
what Detroit is going to because they've gotten rid of
their whole secondary.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
It has to be better. I mean, it was one
of the most friendly defenses to play before.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
It has to be better.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I mean, I would say I think it goes from
off to below average.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Week three versus Carolina, Week four at the Giants, it's
pretty favorable. It's pretty favorable. Yeah, the forty nine ers
quarterback in pass catchers, so we don't know who the
quarterback is going to.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Be, right right, Pittsburgh's walking the park.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah. Week one at Pittsburgh, Week two at the Rams,
Week threw three the Giants, and Week four versus the
Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
So I'm sitting here thinking in Seattle and San Francisco,
maybeach have four games against the Rams and Cardinals. Yeah,
pretty nice. That's pretty nice.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Not too bad, Yeah, yeah, not too bad. That's sir.
But apparently he just did teams with the easiest early schedules.
I guess they didn't. They didn't do the teams with
the best, yeah, or the best. They do have win
lost predictions here for every team. I want to check
some of the because I am not made.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
The lines I've seen. Some of them are off. You know,
you mentioned the Rams last segment. We've been pumping the Steelers.
I think there's some obvious bets.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Well that's a that is a actually a paved article
for them, so I'm not doing that. They do have
dynasty quarterback tears, okay, which we talked a little bit about.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
This this is right at my wheelhouse.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
No, this is this is huge for you.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
In Tier one they have Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yeah, they kind of stand alone, as we talked about
the other day.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Though, I don't know if I want to spend when
I got to spend to get those guys.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
No, what's funny right now is I've done some best
ball stuff I've been listening to more. Like I said,
it's become fantasy season for me and a big trend
this year. Dynasty aside, but also Dynasty is got to
get one of those top three because so many people
won their leagues with Hurts, Allen, and Mahomes last year.
(10:06):
And that's fine, but they're going so high. I mean,
those guys are like one or two of them are
going to the first round of twelve teen drafts and
the other one's going to go shortly after.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Yeah, midway, one of the last midway passes, you know,
the second mid round.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
They're all top twenty picks. They're all pretty much top
fifteen picks, all three of those guys.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
They've only got two guys in Tier two, Lamar Jackson
and Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
I would have Herbert with them as well.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
I might have Fields there.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, I just know those three that you met that
we mentioned will be starters two years from now. Fields
could still flop. But he's only twenty four.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
He's only twenty four, yeah right, I.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Mean he's in the next tier for most people with
Lawrence tier three.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
He's not in there that tier for this exercise, Justin Herbert,
Trevor Lawrence, Deshaun Watson, Kyler, Murray. I don't know that
I can put Trevor Lawrence. I can't put Trevor Lawrence
and Deshaun Watson in that teer yet. I just can't.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Herbert versus Watson isn't close to me Herbert versus Murray,
and I can't use them to I can't.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, I don't know when I'm gonna have Murray, No, no, yeah,
let alone, Okay, tier four, And this is unfair. Anthony
Richardson and Justin Fields, I don't know. First of all
they have they have Anthony Richardson's at ten and Fields
is at eleven. Okay, I can't put I can't put
(11:40):
Anthony Richardson ahead of Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
So this is a different conversation. But I've done mine
my dynasty rookie ranks by position. Richardson's definitely one, you know,
with all respect to me, right, some people have young.
I think Richardson is clearly one. But I would have
back to this conversation, I would have Field ahead of Watson, Kyler,
(12:09):
and I don't know if i'd have Richardson. I mean
i'd have Fields ahead of Richardson too.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
I haven't had of Trevor Lawrence as well.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Fields over Lawrence. Yeah, yeah, that's not crazy.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
They're about to say he's gonna rush for a thousand yards.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
He's an rush for a thousand yards.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
And I think Lawrence last year twenty five touchdown passes. Yeah,
is he gonna he's gonna get, you know, get the
thirty five this year? I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
And Fields definitely has better weapons now than ever. Yeah,
I mean his touchdown numbers as a thrower will go.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Up to tier five. I don't agree with this either.
Bryce Young Dak Prescott to a Taego Vallea. I can't
put Bryce Young ahead of Dak Prescott in Tua.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
I was gonna say, I was offered I have Dak Prescott,
and someone offered me Bryce Young straight up for him,
like two days ago, and I didn't even consider it.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Why would you like, Dak Prescott's got ten more years
in the league.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah, right, I mean he's twenty nine, which is not
old for him, and he's established and they just gave
him Brandon Cooks and you know, like he's good in
the same league deal, my quarterbacks were Tyler Murray and
Zach Wilson. I'm load, so I just put this post
out like whoever will sell me the quarterback at the
cheapest it doesn't stink? And I got Dak Prescott for
(13:32):
a draft pick. And then somebody's like, here, take Bryce
Young straight up for like no way, Yeah, why would
you do that?
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Yeah? Tier six C J. Stroud, Daniel Jones, Trey Lance.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Would you rather have younger Stroud?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (13:51):
I went back and forth on that a million times. A.
Stroud's weapons aren't bad.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
His weapons aren't bad. Is he going to run his
much as Young? Though?
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Neither one is going to do as much as people think.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yeah, they're not there.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Neither one of them is a big runner on either
one for dynasty. To be honest with you, yeah, Young
is the better runner of the two. I think I'm
not to Stroud as bad at it. He just doesn't
do it a whole lot, right right? He doesn't like
This sounds crazy, but I might rather have Daniel Jones
than either one of them for fantasy.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
I can't argue that. I mean, yeah, he produces, he
produces it. I'd brother have either one of those guys
in Trey Lance.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Even if Trey Lance is going to be a starter.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
This year, you know how many snapsle you plays here? Right?
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Tier seven Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, Jared Goff, Gino Smith,
Derek Carr.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Yeah, I mean that those are the guys that you
can't trade for anything anymore.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
They're all the old guys.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, yeah, you know what they are. But there is
a dynasty strategy. Use all your resources on young receivers
and quarterbacks. Plug Kirk Cousins in.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Yeah, you can win with those guys for a year.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Or two, right, you know what I mean. Even Aaron Rodgers,
you know, oh he's too old. He might throw thirty
five touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, like Gino Smith. I guarantee. Gino Smith was probably
not very many dynasty leagues going in this last year. No,
he was not because he had never done anything right. Right.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Frankly, Kenny should be ahead of those guys.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Kenny should be ahead of those guys because he got
way more upside. But he's in Tier eight with Rock Purdy,
Mac Jones shortened Love Pickets the highest radio together.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I mean, I see why you alump those together.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
But I know more about Picket, and I think I
know more about Mac Jones, and I do Rock Purty
or Jordan Love.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Yeah, but who would you rather start, hypothetical? Purdy's played
It's week four, Purdy's played three pretty good games. Mac
Jones played three pretty good games. I'd probably start Perty
over Mac.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
It's got better weapons, yeah, yeah, got better weapons. Yeah. Uh.
Tier nine Aaron Rodgers, Jimmy Garoppolo, Ryan Tannehill.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
See, like at that price, I'll gladly start Aaron Rodgers
for one year or two. Yeah, we have him, have
Justin Jefferson as my wide receiver, you know what I mean?
Like that for Dynasty. He didn't give it up yet
because even if he retires, you can go get Dak
Prescott for a rookie second round pick, you know what
(16:38):
I mean. That's what I did. You know, like quarterbacks
aren't hard, I mean, and in like super Flex, you
hang on to all those old guys as long as
you can.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Yeah, absolutely play him right. Tier ten will Levis, Desmond Ritter,
Sam Howe, Okay, Baker Mayfield, Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah, he's thirty five without maybe doesn't have an.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Arm, he has two arms. He just don't know if
he gets to use him. Here are my leagues.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
I have Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford, and I feel fine,
I'm not gonna I mean, maybe I'll maybe, maybe I'll
draft you know, somebody Levice or somebody super late. But
I mean, if I have a good one and Stafford's
my backup, I'll hang with that and take my chances.
I'd like to have a third that isn't horrible, But
you know, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
This next group is Tier eleven. One or two of
these things are not like the other. Tell me if
you you agree with me, it's Sam Darnold, Tyler Huntley,
Jacoby Brissett, Zach Wilson, Henden Hooker, Gardner, Minshew.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Well, Minshew and Brissette might be opening day starter.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
That's what I'm saying. I don't have to squint real
hard to say, oh, those guys if they're not the
opening starter, what if they're They could be the starter
ten games into the five games into the season.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
But would you rather a Minshew or Hooker for Dynasty?
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Dynasty?
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Assuming you're not starting either one in Week one? Yeah,
I'm like, yeah, I already have Justin Herbert or somebody, uh,
probably Hooker probably, But some of those guys get to
be roster bloggers too, Like if you don't have a
huge roster, he just sits there and you know you
can't check that box forever.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
But you can't. You don't want to cut him.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
You don't want to cut him. And if you don't
have injured reserve spots or he's not on injury reserve,
you just look at him every week.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Like, well, I'd love to be able to use him
or trade him, do something with him. Kobe pset you,
Kobe Brosett could be could start fifteen games this year from.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Washington and fifteen next year for whoever. Yeah, right, right now,
he's got a lot of starts in his future.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
I'm not I'm not drafting him after Tyler Huntley, after
Sam Donald.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Right, Donald might be the three.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Donald might be the three. Tyler Huntley was not. Tyler
Huntley was not good in an offense that was catered
to running quarterbacks last year. Right now, the Ravens are
are changing their offense to throw the ball more. That's
not what you want Tyler Huntley to do.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Right, No, I'm with you. I'm not a Huntly believer
at all and probably never will be. So I'm the
list I'm looking with goes forty deep, and they also
have Jameis Winston, Bailey Zappi, Kyle Trask.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
I mean again, these are the last people they even rank.
But I mean it's those guys are in some leagues.
Super Flex are in every.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Really yeah, and you have to be you know, you
have to have those guys Like I'd rather have Zach
Wilson than Sam Darnold.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I drafted Stetson Bennett with my last rookie pick in
a super Flex league just thinking Stafford might not even play, right.
I mean, I don't care he's good or not. If
he's on the field for Superflex, he's worth something.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
I don't have to, right, I don't have to squint
real hard to see Zach Wilson back as the starting
quarterback next year for the New York Jets.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
I know, I don't think he's good at all. I
didn't like it don't either, But talk about like quarterbacks
being stocks, I mean, he's a penny sock that only
has to go up to a nickel to be worth
your time. And he can get to be in a nickel.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Like I I'd rather have him than Tyler Huntley.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, throwing to Garrett Wilson and those guys Aaron Rodgers
plays one.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Yeah, maybe maybe he learns from Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
All that may'll be good for him.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Yeah. Absolutely, Yeah, I got it again. I don't have
to look real hard to see that. I mean, I'd
rather I'd rather have him than saym Howe. I guess
I'd probably rather have him than Desmond Ritter.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
I don't think Riddle will be a starter next year.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
That's what I'm saying. Like the long term prognosis here.
The Jets aren't going to just say, oh, we use
the second round pick on this guy, just like we
did with Sam Darnold. Let's get Rid, Let's let's that's Jennison,
two guys that we took second overall without really looking
at him all that. No, the owner at some points
gonna step in and say, guys, what are we doing here?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
What are we doing here? Like I don't think you
could pry Zach Wilson away from the Jets for a
fifth round pick.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
No, they're not going to give up on him, especially
considering the age of Rogers, right, Like, I'm sure they're
still like, Hey, at best, we've got Aaron Rodgers for
the next two years. They could be in a Jordan
Love situation with Wilson, right with Wilson in two years
from now, where they've gotta they've got to pick up
his fift year option or decide to move on. But
(21:40):
if they're as good as they think that they're going
to be with Aaron Rodgers, they're not gonna be in a
position to take a quarterback high.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
The other thing about Dynasty that's interesting too is it
is a lot like the stock market, where Wilson will
sit on the Jets bench and he'll be worth more
in week ten than he is right now because people
be like, well, you know, then they start thinking about
who the quarterback will be next year. You know what
I mean? Like, right right now, nobody will would smell
(22:10):
Zach Wilson. He stinks I want nothing to do with him.
But as things go on, someone might be like, I'll
think Zach Wilson a throw and you know, like that
kind of stuff happens a lot in Dynasty.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah. Well, by the same token, should will Levis be
ranked ahead of a Desmond Ritter or someone like that?
Speaker 2 (22:28):
How about this question? For Dynasty. Would you rather have
Tannehill or Levis Levis?
Speaker 1 (22:34):
And I don't even love Levis.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
I don't love us at all, but they might play
equal games this year.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
I think Tannehill's next step is to become a long
time you know, a backup for the next four years
if he wants to do, if he wants to go
that direction.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Right right, right, right, Yeah. I don't think he's the
commander starter next year.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Yeah, I mean I see him more Joe flackoing it
up the rest of his career where he's he's the
journeyman that oh will bring him in because he's you know,
he started one hundred and twenty five games in his career.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Right right, all right, Yeah, I think that's what's next
for him. Fine, you know, go out and make five
million a year or whatever and mentor somebody. Yeah, you know,
you're like Kenny Pickett's mentor, your next year's first round
picks mentor type guy, you know what I mean, some
young dude.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I'm just like Kenny Pickett, Brock Purty, Mac Jones, Jordan Love.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah, that grouping, neighborhood, that.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Grouping is is interesting to me, you know, behind the
guy the Kirk cousins of Russell Wilson's, Jared Goff, Gino Smith,
Derek Carr. I get those, those five guys are more
established players, but overall, Kenny Pickett was better than Russell
Wilson last year.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah. See he to me and I've said this actually
Unlocked on Dynasty is one of my favorite buys at
the quarterback position period because.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Again people are looking just at the stats from last year,
right he only threw seven touchdown passes.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Because you've done this, I mean, you go to the website,
you hit the trades tab, make a trade with Williamson,
blah blah blah, all the all the guys come down
and there's just all their fantasy points are right next
to him, and his look terrible. It's like, well, I'll
get that, you know. So I've been getting him here
and there for super cheap, and I bet he starts
(24:27):
for ten years and right now he's a better NFL
player than quarterback or then fantasy player. I get that.
I'm not gonna take him high and redraft, but two
years from now, when the offense starts to be his
and you know, the the Brad Show, I mean, I'm
not saying's Bradshaw, but the Bradshaw ben transformation of we're
not going to hand the ball to Franco and Bettie
(24:48):
over and over. Now now you're going to be the guy.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
And now it's your turn to lead the offense, right.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
And you're gonna throw it thirty five times?
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Did George Pickens and Pat Fryarmouth and you know.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Yeah, and younger us out there, you know, yeah for nothing?
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Yeah? Dynasty. I don't play dynasty. I know you do,
and you do a lot of it. It's fascinating to
me how some of this stuff works.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
So it's funny too because some of it's just the
time of year too. Like you can get veterans really
cheap right now, but try to pry a veteran off
someone's roster in week six when he's starting.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yeah, I mean it's a little different.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
I can get Aaron Rodgers for nothing and start them
in week one and win.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
The league, right yeah, and you're happy to have them,
right right? Right? Hey, did you miss any of our
show today? You can download full episodes of all of
our SNR podcast shows, such as To Drive in the
Locker Room with Wolf and Starks, The Steelers Blitz with
Wes and Motes, the Steelers Standard with Tom and Jacob,
as well as many more. They're all available on the
Steelers Mobile app, the iHeartRadio app, and wherever you get

this week, Matt.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Good stuff. We'll be at OTA's next week.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Yeah, I was gonna say next week. You'll be able
to hear us Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, we will be live
at the Steeler OTAs with Wesley Yuler as well, from
eleven to one each day. Of course, you can hear
replays of those shows throughout the day here on Steelers
Nation Radio, so we'll do that here throughout the OTA sessions,
and if you listen, we'll even get some special guests
(26:23):
on the shows, so you don't want to miss that.
We'll get the guys as are coming off the field.
We'll get somebody each day to come over and sit
down with us. We'll chat with them for a bit,
and you just never know who we're gonna get, but
it should be We usually get some pretty good you know,
the Cam Haywards or someone of that nature coming over
to sit down with us and talk, so you won't
(26:44):
want to miss that, but that's going to do it.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Professional football players and helmets.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Absolutely. This is like this is kind of the start
of Christmas here again for us here like everything, the
excitement starts to build again. Then like a week from now,
we'll be like, I got to watch another OTA practice.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
But I don't know the Drive schedule, but we'll we
do definitely Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. From there, I don't know,
Monday and Friday or in the mix or not.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
And those will be from eleven to one, so we'll definitely,
we'll definitely be doing those shows. So for my partner
Matt Williamson, I am Dale Lallie. We thank you for
listening to this edition of the Drive on Steelers Nation Radio.
