Je to presne rok odvtedy, ako sa reportér Ivan Mego začal venovať prípadu nezvestnej blondínky z Bratislavy, Kataríny Hrozányovej. Jej meno poznal z článku nezvestného novinára Paľa Rýpala. Bol to totiž jeden z jeho posledných článkov, na ktorých pred zmiznutím pracoval.
Paľo Rýpal v roku 2008 napísal, že po žene, ktorá v jedno októbrové ráno v roku 2005 neprišla do práce, zostalo na Košickej ulici auto. Stálo zaparkované neďaleko školy, kam odviedla svojho 7-ročného syna. Oslovil Kataríninu tetu Ruženu, s tým, aby sa dozvedel viac.
Bola to práve teta Ružena, ktorá policajtom ohlásila nezvestnosť aj opis – Katarína Hrozányová je vysoká 160 cm, postava štíhla, oválna tvár, hnedé oči, stredne dlhé hnedé vlasy, dĺžka chodidla 22,5 cm, na bruchu má jazvu po cisárskom reze o dĺžke približne 5 cm, píše sa na oficiálnej stránke polície v kolónke nezvestné osoby.
