On Monday, Technically we missed a day of podcasting.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
What the heck?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
That was weird?
Speaker 6 (01:23):
Why I woke up yesterday and it's like, Wow, Beamer
wouldn't take the day off.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
I didn't. I didn't. I was ready to talk ball.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
I could have done a zoom.
Speaker 6 (01:31):
Podcast trash balls.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Did it during all of twenty twenty?
Speaker 5 (01:34):
Did you guys really?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Oh? Yeah, yeah, we did the virtual podcast.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
You remember that doing it when I first came on.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
Yeah, Beam, that sounds like a blast. Do you miss that?
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Oh dude, I feel like that was the worst year
for being.
Speaker 7 (01:46):
I did it.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
I did it from my guest bedroom. Yeah, we were.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
We were. God, you can't say what I like that
around big dude when people come to see me.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
Money bag bee.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
We all know all got it because because my wife
took over the office, both were working at home. Guess
they separate.
Speaker 6 (02:12):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, the in law is coming a weekend. You got
to get out of your work your work office. Yeah,
that's how it goes. But we don't have to do
that anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
First Christmas with your instant family.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
Yeah it was good. Instant instant, That's exactly what it
sounded like.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Uh, yeah, it was awesome. You had the babies. We
went and did a Christmas Eve deal with her parents
and then came back to the house did our own thing.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
I'd be like, hey, you guys come to me. I
got three.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah, yeah, that's kind of the case. Now. Yeah, so
like today is like my parents were doing their Christmas
and it was kind of everybody. Everybody as a whole
came after we did Christmas morning with the baby, so
it's just me and my wife with the babies, and
that was really nice. And then uh, and then everybody
came over last night. And then now my side of
(03:03):
the family is staying and they're staying at our house
and so they're all there right now watching talking to
guest bedroom. Uh, it's really it's less of a guest
bedroom and a holding bedroom for when the boys get
bunk beds. So yeah, it's where we've outgrown that house
pretty quick. We bought a three bedroom house thinking, yeah,
we've got a couple of years to go and hang
(03:24):
out and be a couple and have newlywed no no, no,
three kids very quick.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
So you gotta have a vision. When I got here,
I got drafted. I bought the house, I had enough
bedroom for whenever I decided to fill it up. It worked.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
You know how many kids I initially had the vision
for one?
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Two?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah, now I've got three weeks. I'm so happy for However,
the plan was, there was a vision. It just wasn't
what I ended up and room for more? Right, yeah, sure, absolutely,
yeah down the line, not right now? Maybe maybe we're
having fun. We're having fun. All right, let's get into
some ball little uh.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Get this cowboy.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Very little news and notes from from what the Cowboys did.
They were on the practice field yesterday. Of course with
it being a normal week. They did practice on Wednesday,
and we got the practice report from Scott at Goldman,
uh and the Cowboys on Christmas Day.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
That's the thing is they're still working. Do you have
that in front of do?
Speaker 8 (04:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (04:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (04:23):
They So they actually practiced on Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Tuesday yesterday. All pushed it up.
Speaker 9 (04:28):
So news and notes from the practice report.
Speaker 10 (04:30):
Keep in mind this is all estimations since they didn't
actually practice. As far as the Cowboys go, t J. Bass,
Eric Kendrick, Ceedy Lamb did not practice. Ceede Lamb is
the big one there. Jerry Jones said last week on
one O five Through the Fan that it's kind of
in the balls in his court as to whether or
not he wants to finish out the year with his
shoulder injury. So that's gonna be something to keep an
(04:51):
eye on this week.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Let's see.
Speaker 10 (04:54):
Jalen Tolbert was limited with his finger. Patrick Nosey Walker
had a good story on that on Dallas Cowboys dot Com.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
You go give that a read.
Speaker 10 (05:01):
Jordan Lewis, Mazzi Smith, Alsom Richards, who is twenty one
day practice window was opened from IR, and Janye Thomas
were all full participants yesterday for the Eagles. The big
one to watch is Jalen Hurts is still in concussion protocol.
His They also did not practice Wednesdays. This is just
an estimation, but he was listed as d NP, so
that'll be something to watch throughout the rest of the week.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
They're resting everybody.
Speaker 10 (05:22):
The Eagles are arresting everybody, Saquon Barkley, Makai Becton, Landon Dickerson,
Lane Johnson, all guys who are listed as rest days,
Darius Lam Josh Sweat as well. If Jalen Hurts cannot go,
Kenny Picketts their backup quarterback. He was limited in their
practice estimation. He had a rib injury that he suffered
last week as well, so there's something else to watch there.
But that is your Wednesday News and Notes.
Speaker 5 (05:46):
I would ignore the Jalen Hurts injury. He's going to
play on Sunday.
Speaker 9 (05:49):
So I think I think today we'll be telling if he's.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
D NP today, I would lean for Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Man, it's a concussion though, that's the only thing. But
in the NFL care that's that's the problem.
Speaker 10 (06:01):
All of those are so different, Yeah, in terms of
how severe they are.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
So yeah, that's that's that's just a toss up.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Well, yeah, it took Jake person what two whole weeks
basically or two games to recover from that and maybe
maybe just one.
Speaker 10 (06:14):
Sorry, we heard them talking to the locker room about
how scary that was and yeah, process of getting through it.
So that's the part that you know, you just kind
of gotta wait and see.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, if it was any other injury, I would agree
with you completely where it's oh it's a sprained ankle
or it's a sprained wrist or whatever it may be.
But they're they're twelve and three. They they they're playing
the Cowboys at noon. It's going to be an early
turnaround for them.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
Flexed by the way, Yeah, we talked about that.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Now didn't get flexed. That was probably three that I've missed.
Speaker 10 (06:47):
Yeah, we got flex from through twenty five to a
candle and that sucks.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Why is it?
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Why is it suck?
Speaker 6 (06:54):
Because I have jobs Kyle and I can't work them.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Both trying to double dip on the Yeah, man, oh,
it's the CBS deal. Yeah, that's what it is. Sorry, sorry, boy,
It happens to me too. It happens in freelance all
the time. Just wait until next week. There's there's that
TBD that's on the schedule. If it goes on one day,
(07:19):
I'm gonna have to give up two games. If it
goes on the other day, I can do all of it.
So I'm not gonna say which ones because I don't
want you praying for now.
Speaker 6 (07:25):
I'm not going to pray for it. But if it happens,
So that's the thing is, Yeah, a little bit of
a flex.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
It's not like it's flexed out of a primetime slot.
I don't know if it's a huge deal, but it's
it's the same network. They're just moving into noon instead
of a three twenty five deal. Honestly, what that tells
me I haven't looked at the schedule ahead of time,
but that just means that there's probably a better game
that Fox already had the rights to and.
Speaker 9 (07:50):
Which it was Packers Vikings that got that's.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
A really good game. Yeah, so might as well just
do that. That's got more playoff implications than Eagles Cowboys
that that might have happened then anyway.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Isn't that crazy that the season resulted in a Week
sixteen match between Cowboys or seventeen Cowboys and Eagles, and
it's like getting flexed.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Out of primetime base It is pretty wild. That's wild
that that happened.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Like any other season, you have lost your money on that.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
There's no way.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Going into the year neither do I. Yeah, going into
the year, you would have said, I mean every time
where we get the schedule in May U circle games
that are going to really matter usually last couple weeks
of the year. Philadelphia has decided this a vision.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Absolutely and it would be flexed. I would bet that
it would be flexed, but it would be flexed to
seven to twenty five.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
Two actual prime time.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Yeah, that's pretty wild. But yes, we are going to
be kicking off at noon this week against the Eagles,
and that's going to be interesting real quickly. We're going
to go into QB vision in the next segment. But
I want to talk a little defense as well.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
Killing my donut budget right now?
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah donut, Oh yeah, you get donuts back.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
To back week, kill donut. Possibly every every twelve o'clock game.
I buy donuts for the production team, and it usually
only happens like twice a year, not this year, seventeen times.
Speaker 11 (09:04):
It's gonna be delicious. Just can't wait. French weapons, no donuts.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Tell me a little bit about what you've seen from
their offensive side. It's tough because no Jalen Hurts, who's
gonna be at quarterback? Because even Kenny Pickett got a
little shaken up late in that game against Washington as well,
Big Ribs. What have you seen from their offense that's
different than maybe the first time we saw them earlier
(09:33):
in the season.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
I think their offensive line is even better at this
point in the season. I mean, granted, you see injuries
now to Jalen Hurts and now the backup Kenny Pickett,
but I still think the offensive line is probably the
best of the best in the league. I mean, if
you look at Jordan Mylotta, Lane Johnson, it is really
really crazy how in sync those guys are going forward,
(09:56):
and of course that leads to Saquon being one of
the best running backs in the league. Not see that
from Saquon Barkley last year at all. Granted that the
Cowboys were able to stop him in their first game
this year, I don't know that you'd bet on that.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
Again.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
You don't have Tomorrow and Overson ready to clean up everything,
and you may not have Eric Kendricks on the field,
so it'll be tough to stop the run game if
they in fact want to just.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Run the ball over and over and over again.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
I don't know how that isn't everybody's game playing against
the Cowboys. But you saw Bucky Irving last week against
the Cowboys do exactly that. We couldn't stop them. We
couldn't get him down, couldn't tackle him. So in this case,
the offensive line is really solid, probably the best we're
going to face this entire year. For me, that is
(10:41):
the bread and butter of what they do that will
get them probably a win. I don't want to see
it happen, but yeah, probably.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (10:49):
Saquon Barkley has been a high level player in his
entire career thus far, but he's playing his best football yet.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
I mean, this is MVP caliber stuff.
Speaker 10 (10:57):
He's not gonna I don't think he's gonna win the MVP,
but he's playing at an MVP level.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Like Rosaldgoul. He's returned to the fountain of youth. He
is reborn and he's dangerous.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
That's right on.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Pace for over two thousand yards.
Speaker 10 (11:09):
Yeah, and I wouldn't surprise me at all if he
cracks it. So you know, when you look at this
team now, especially if Jalen Hurts can't play, it's gonna
be it's gonna be a much heavier dose of Saquon
Barkley because you know, the Cowboys have had their issues
with run defense this year, so they're just gonna gash them.
I think because you talk about how they limited Saquon
Barkley in that first game, part of that was in
(11:32):
part because Jalen Hurts was just tossing all over this secondary.
I mean, they were picking on Kaalen Carson a lot
that game. AJ Brown had a big day, so they
just made it all look easy in that game.
Speaker 9 (11:42):
But the Eagles as of late.
Speaker 10 (11:44):
Kind of like what they did last year, except they
came out in the losing end of a lot of
these games. They're loving to make things interesting. They've had
a couple of one score games here at three out
of their last four have been one score games. They've
won three of them, which is different from what they
did last year. But that game against Washington, granted with
Jalen Hurts out, you know, they just couldn't close down
the stretch. So you wonder if that will change anything.
(12:05):
And if you wonder if the Stallus defense just focuses
completely on the run and says, okay, can he Piket
or whoever's behind him beat me with your arm, there's
your path to victory for the defense. But you know, yeah, no,
Saquon Barkley is going to be the core of this
and he is just playing at an incredible level.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
It's it's impressive to see what they've done with a
running back that was on the sideline or on the
let's just say, on the free agent market this past
year and they've turned him into completely different.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
All the top run back to the leg yeah were yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Derrek Henry, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Saron Jones. Yeah, they
were all pretty much right there for the taking whenever
they got there. So I tend to agree with you, guys,
I really do what is that?
Speaker 11 (12:53):
What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I tend to agree with ye. I agree with you
in terms of they're going to run the football right,
and they're going to continue to do it over and
over again. I mean, that's an over and over that's
how you win football games against the Cowboys. Teams seemingly
go away from that whenever they get pressed a little bit.
(13:17):
I don't see Philadelphia doing that this week, five dealers.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
I mean, yeah, it's crazy how many teams have given
up on the run against.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
This Philly did. I guess yeah, Philly did. Every kind
of did since he did.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
They still used to Chase Brown a lot, but they
used him in the passing game. You guys, correct me
if I'm running.
Speaker 10 (13:34):
But I feel like that's kind of a widespread problem
around football entirely, is that coaches just get away from
the run game way too early.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
Passing league, You've seen that several times.
Speaker 10 (13:45):
Sure it's a passing league, but man, you think at
some point in a closer game, if.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
You've got a twounning, you try to win up front.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
There's very few teams that that have the goal to
just run the ball. There's only a handful of them.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
That's those are goal to run the ball like you.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
Like that, you take it the title for the Detroit's
one of them, right. Detroit just has that that ethos
where they just want to just go forward and they'll
just do them. Once they recognize that you can't stop it,
they'll just do it over and over. So very few
teams that that will commit to that to the run
like that, I don't know. I Philadelphia is one of them.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
You don't think so. You think they'll throw it around
even with an injured quarterback.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Yeah, I think they're. I mean, they're going to definitely
give you a heavy dose of run, especially if Saquan
is playing. But yeah, I mean they'll they'll throw it
around they I mean, remember who their offensive coordinator is.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Right, Yeah, his name's Kellen Moore.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
Yeah, you know him a little bit.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
He's he's stuck to the run this year though, because
he has a guy like Barkley. I mean, he had
Zeke here for a little bit and had some success,
but and.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Then Zeke started getting injured.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, Barkley's just on another level in that offensive line. Dude,
that's where it all.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Starts exactly and talking about the best of the best
as far as offensive line goes. When I mentioned Jordan
my Lott, I mentioned Lane Johnson. Those both are in
the top ten of offensive linemen in the league. Jordan
my Lot a number one, Lane Johnson number nine.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
And of course A J. Brown is out there.
Speaker 6 (15:11):
That A J.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
Brown.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
He's a really good wide receivers, a Heisman Trophy winner
at wide receiver.
Speaker 11 (15:15):
His named Davonte Smith Smith.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Oh, and they've got to tie it in.
Speaker 11 (15:20):
His name's Dallas Goddard.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
Screw that guy.
Speaker 6 (15:23):
Not as far.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Where's Coy Isaiah when you need him?
Speaker 11 (15:27):
Tell me about this Eaguals offense.
Speaker 6 (15:28):
They're really good. They're balanced, they can do whatever the
heck they want to, especially when they have the QB one.
Obviously without the QB one, they they're not so great.
I think they're on too without Jalen Hurts, but with him,
you got the you guys just hit on everything? Is there?
Speaker 5 (15:41):
QB one really all all that?
Speaker 6 (15:44):
All that, all that? I think he works really well
for their offense what they do.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
Would he succeed on any other offense?
Speaker 2 (15:54):
I mean I think so. I think so.
Speaker 6 (15:55):
I think he'll be okay, I don't I don't think
he'll be I mean, I think he's fine. I think fine.
Anytime you add a dominant running game to a versatile
quarterback that tends to help them, tends that help, Yeah,
you're gonna get some positive outcomes. Weird, crazy, but yeah,
their offense is done. It's just just stupid. It really
(16:16):
starts up front. You know, we talk about it all
the time about how you have to invest in your
offensive line. The offensive line. If they're dominant, then your
whole team is dominant. And that's exactly what's happened here.
They have they have receivers, they have a possession of receiver,
they have a bit two big play receivers, they have
tight end running games. Crazy, they do whatever they want
to offensively, and then I know we'll get to the defense.
But I mean, we talk about Saquon and him being
(16:38):
number one in the league and yards per carry, number
one in the league in scrimmage, scrimmage, yards from the
from yards from the scrimmage. He's he's yeah, they're nasty.
And I don't want to sit up here and brag
on the Eagles, but they're they're nasty on offense.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
I think Jalen hurts is really fortunate to have a J. Brown,
a guy that granted they said that they didn't have
a lot of chemistry earlier this season. Initially you saw
them kind of pick it up in that Steelers game.
But he's really fortunate that he can just throw to
spots that AJ Brown will be in in the area.
As long as he's in the area, he's going to catch.
(17:11):
It's crazy how good a J.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Brown is. I just think that Jalen Hurts takes a
lot of risks when he throws.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
He throws into into coverage quite often, and he has
the receivers that are there to run through the mud
and basically.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Catch it where wherever the ball goes.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
I don't think his accuracy is on point by any stretch.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
He's just really fortunate that they had that he has
those receivers.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
But he also is a detriment to the offense when
he doesn't read the coverages that he has or read
the plays that he has and runs immediately. That's another
thing that I've noticed about Jealleen Hurds is he's I
think pre snap He's like, oh, I'm running this for sure,
and that gets him into a lot of issues. I
looked more so at the Steelers tape and saw that
(17:54):
he was just forcing the run when it didn't need
to be forced. He had open receivers and pretty snappy.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
He's like, oh, yeah, this is this is a run.
I got this.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
But Dallas did pretty good against the running attack last time. Yeah,
they were decent, right, I mean take.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
One sixty six yards rush.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Fifty six, but he had two teddies. So they've done
well against them. But you know this is a better team. Yeah,
and Saque, out of the sixteen games he's played, has
ten of those games has over one hundred yards form scrimmage.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah, he's he has six games of one hundred and forty.
If he averages one hundred and thirty four over the
next two games, he would break Eric Dickerson's single season.
Speaker 11 (18:34):
Huh.
Speaker 6 (18:34):
He was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah, he is an extra game, guys, it's still in
a it's an extra game. But that's still incredible. I
mean the fact that he's able to do it. Shoot,
if he goes off, he's done it already once before,
where he could go off for two plus two hundred
plus he could get closed.
Speaker 9 (18:51):
Yeah, charger fifty five ranks against the Rams.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
So if he goes for two fifty five again, then
he would be three yards over the record.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
That ain't gonna happen. You know why, because we've got
a guy named Nick Vigil.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
All right, Yeah, you tell them Patrick's favorite player. Yeah. Yeah,
I'm looking at Jalen Hurts and just the comparison. I
see what you're talking about. In terms of the tape.
I think he's been better this year at deciphering when
is good for him to throw and win, is good
for him to run better because he has that run
game behind him. In the past, he's been running with
(19:24):
Boston Scott and whoever the hell is back there in
the Eagles backfield. Now you've got a dude like Saquon Barkley.
He doesn't have to put his body in danger and
just take off and run. It's not the Baltimore Ravens attack.
It's not the Eagles attack of the past. It's more
so a Okay, I'm more of a quarterback, but when
(19:45):
I need it, let's do it.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
So they're definitely more well balanced this year, and Jalen
Hurts has been balanced as well.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
And he only has five picks this year. Keep that
in mind. I mean, he's eighteen touchdowns and five picks.
You talk about throwing in the tight windows, they're still
not getting picked off.
Speaker 5 (19:59):
One of those agains Cowboys. By the way, it was
against the guy who was great play.
Speaker 10 (20:04):
Thanks, but that that that that just gets so much
easier for any quarterback when you've got a run game
that you can lean on like that, and when you've
got the receivers that they've got with Smith, Brown and Goddard.
Not to say that they didn't have some of those
pieces last year. That was at the end of last
year was just to collapse for collapse.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
For whatever reason.
Speaker 10 (20:23):
But man, when you had a guy like Saquon into
your offense, it's gonna take the it's gonna take stuff
off your quarterback. It's going to take break off your
wide receivers and kind of off your offensive line too,
because when you run the ball so well and you
just had to throw it, it's gonna be a little
bit easier in pass protection because you know that guys
are going to crop back.
Speaker 6 (20:41):
Are you more confident or less confident than you were
in the first matchup?
Speaker 9 (20:47):
If Jalen Hurts doesn't play more confident me obviously.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
You asked the question.
Speaker 6 (20:52):
But if he plays, if he plays.
Speaker 10 (20:53):
If he plays, uh no, I would say at same
level of non confidence.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
I I would probably stick around the same level, but
I would say maybe a little bit more confidence just
because you're not in a you've kind of dug yourself
out of your rut. You've won four or five games.
You have some confidence even though you're banged up and
you're hurt. You're not looking at this as hey, it's
(21:20):
the season's over whatever. You know, you're not making the playoffs.
You're playing with house money right now.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
I asked the question because of the level that the
defense is playing at right that too so and you
have you guys are saying that you have the same
level of confidence as you did in Week ten, slightly hiles,
while your defense is playing at this level slightly higher,
slightly slightly.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
I'm gonna sit here and say that I have a
ton of confidence in this team, but slightly higher.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
I have more confidence in this game because we were
coming into the first game with a three game loose streak,
and we were probably at the low one of the
lowest points that we've seen.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Remember, I wrote bottom most point was on the sheet
in the press box during the Eagles game yeah, I
said this is rock bottom whenever they had the fumble
and the Terrence Steel pick up, or it was Terrence
Steel in that game, right and the next game?
Speaker 6 (22:09):
Sorry, what was that that happened in that game?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (22:12):
That was in that game, wasn't Yes, I thought he
hasn't fumbled.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Since since the Miami game.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
He've I could run it back for you guys.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
I thought that was Cooper, our own Cooper.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
We're running back for you guys.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Yeah, we'll running back. We'll find it. Let's take our
first break when we come back. I want to flip things.
We're talking about confidence level in this matchup as a whole,
and you wanted to bring up the defense, Uh, we're
going to flip it to the offensive side of things
as well. Uh, cowboys going up against this Eagles defense
that's pretty good in their own right. Going into Week
sixteen of the seventeen of the NFL season, when we

You are so right. I was wrong.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
It was not Hunter Liftkey, who was a Zeke old
number fifteen Elliott that fumbled in the red zone when
you were down three to seven on the I believe
seven yard line, five yard line somewhere around there with
three minutes left in the second quarter against the Philadelphia
Egles in Week ten, you had the opportunity to go
up ten to seven. Yep, with just over two minutes
left in the game in the first half.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
Thanks, You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Thanks for admitting your mistake.
Speaker 6 (25:42):
I always know. Thanks for I wanted to remind you
how close the game was.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
It was.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
It was for a time.
Speaker 6 (25:49):
So as we're sitting up here talking about all the
positive things that's going on with the Eagles and how
Dallas is playing so much better now, but we have
the same level of confidence.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Slightly higher, slightly higher.
Speaker 6 (25:58):
Dallas was in the ball game with the Philadelphia Eagles
going into half.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
They were also in the ball game going up against
the Texans at the half too, and how did that one?
Speaker 4 (26:09):
I'll tell you this to speaking back on how confidence level.
I don't think that Cooper Rush is going to throw
for only forty five yards in this game.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
I'd venture again, you know.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Yeah, that's that's what I mean. I feel more confident.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
You're going against the blueprint.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
Yeah, going up against Cooper Degene.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Vic Fangiic Fungio Fanji.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
He's a guy. He's a guy, probably the coach they
have on their team.
Speaker 6 (26:37):
It's uncle. Is it really Fangio like Fungio?
Speaker 2 (26:43):
I see his uncle. I'll take it. No, I'm not. Okay,
we'll talk more about that after a little bit. Because
it's time for some.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
Why Eddie, why Ladie put up?
Speaker 2 (26:57):
It's time for big with Isaiah's stand back.
Speaker 6 (27:04):
Break come back, guys, this is gonna be QB Vision
of this week? Was it seventeen edition?
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Seventeen?
Speaker 6 (27:11):
Week seventeen edition of QB Vision. Last time we played
these guys, it was week ten QB Vision.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Yeah, that's always QB Vision.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Steve No I met him though, cool guy.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
I wouldn't trust this quarterback.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
It's not a lot cooy Isaiah. These guys are good. Yeah,
great analysis, thank you. Yeah. Well, I'll put it like this,
these guys are one of the top defenses in the league.
Matter of fact, they are the top defense in the league.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
So for you guys, that the top offense and top defense.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Yeah wow, kind of good. Points per game allowed, fifth,
yards per game allowed. Uh, they're the top passing yards allowed,
they're the second best. These guys have people all over
the place, and it really starts upfront for them. Their
defensive is absolutely nasty. We've talked about these guys in
(28:03):
the past. We talked about these guys in regards to
the draft, and now they just have a whole little
little party of these boys over there. Starting out with
the big fellas a middle Jalen Carter. Kind of a dude.
He's turning it up. He was he was a dog
last year, but now he's a dude. Dog who just
he's a dude of a dog, a dog of a
dude who's been turning it up. He's he lives in
(28:24):
the backfield. He absolutely lives in the backfield. He is
one of the biggest disruptors this game has. Right now,
we just face a Vita vea in regards to just
pure size and a gargantuan this is like this is
like a more athletic Vita, smaller, smaller, not not as round.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
Is he as mean as like this?
Speaker 6 (28:47):
He's a he's an angrier, more effective OSA diggi zua
m That's what I would That's what I would classify
him as. I like OSA a lot. I think he's
very productive. Yeah, no, no disrespect to no, no, no disrespect
at all. I mean, is gonna get paid next year?
Speaker 8 (29:00):
Thing?
Speaker 2 (29:00):
That's a compliment to see OSA in the same conversation
as Jalen Carter.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
Yeah, he's he is your he's your discount double check
version of Jalen Carter. But Jalen Carter has that type
of that body type, if that makes sense, and he's quick,
he's powerful, he's they You really can't double team him
because he has guys that play next to him that
they required double teams as well. He has Big Baby Davis,
(29:25):
as I like to call him, Big Jordan Davison, their
number ninety uh so, number ninety ninety eight. Those guys
are nasty. But they also have Milton Williams and he's
nasty as well. Ninety three. So they have their d
line is large. They have a nice combination of the
big fellas that can hold a ford and two gap,
and they have the big fellaws that can also get
skinny and get vertical and get in the backfield behind
those guys. You know how I feel about their linebackers.
(29:47):
I didn't even talk about Josh Switt. He's he's over
there too, But I didn't even talk about their line
And their linebackers are.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
Zach bond Cheese.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Yes, uh, Zach bond Is. He was a Bond Zach.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
B Wisconsin number one overall, No ded But but yeah,
he's nice.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
He's having a breakout season. Absolute beasts. I think he's
really like the heart beat at that second level for them.
He's their leader. But then you have Na Kobe Dean,
who's just so good. He's an athlete, He's a freaking athlete.
He's smart. He's really smart. I don't know if he
gets enough credit for that. I think he sees and
reads the ball very well. And he was stolen in
(30:27):
the draft, Yes, I remember, because I wanted to get him.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Kyle, A lot of people wanted him. It was injury concerns,
and sure enough that he has worked right back through
the injury concern.
Speaker 6 (30:41):
No, he's perfectly fine. Now, yeah, so you have that,
But then we can go to the secondary. Okay, there
the heartbeat of their secondary. You can go ahead and
argue that is Darius Slave. But I don't think it's
Darius Slay anymore. I think the heartbeat of their team.
You can see it. You can say as CJ. Gardner Johnson,
I'm gonna say no to that as well. I'm gonna
say that is Reid blaken Ship. I'm gonna say that
he's really the heartbeat of that defense. Now he is
(31:02):
coming down, he's busting cats in the chest. Yeah, he
will light you up. I just showed you to show
these guys in the break how he disrespected Jayleen Tolbert
and the whole last time in Week ten on that
fumble from on the fumble by Zeke. All right, Uh,
(31:23):
these guys are physical at every level. And I think
that's really the thing from a Vic Fangio defense. Not
only is he a Jedi when it comes to play calling,
but he has the dogs at every level. He has
dogs at the defensive line position, he has dogs as
the linebackers, he has dogs in the secondary. And these
guys all play physical, they talk, they play physical, They
have a they have a little swag about them. They
(31:44):
have a nastiness about them. And it's not usually you
can say, Okay, well our guy down there is gonna
really get things started, you know, like Micah is gonna
get it started, you know, and then that's that's who's
gonna get started, right is Mike. Right, Usually those guys
are gonna kind of start yeah at an offensive that
you're like, yeah, brock Hoffman, he's gonna get these things.
You get the party started. These guys have multiple guys
(32:05):
at all levels.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
It could be a different guy.
Speaker 6 (32:07):
Every day, could be a different guy on every play. Right.
They just do they just so their personnel is absolutely nasty.
Now let's talk about their skipe. They are a single
high team. These guys want to play single high. When
you start talking about Vig Fangio and what he does,
he has, he likes to play. He likes to play
with an eight man box. Okay, so he likes to
take away your ability to run a ball. He wants
to He's gonna put his safety down there. He's gonna say, hey, reed,
(32:29):
go down there and see what these boys are talking about.
And if he doesn't want to put read down there,
he'll he'll tell He'll tell c J to go down there. Hey, CJ,
go down there and see what these guys talking about
down there in the box. Just discourage them from running
the ball, and then we can play man to man
and we can play Cover three behind it. Right, they are,
they're fully confident with their corners that they have to
play man to man. But they did against Dallas last time.
Is they play eighty eight percent zone in week ten
(32:54):
Cover three, they were single high Cover three. They'll show
two safeties up top. Somebody's rolling down into the right
and saying, you can't run the ball and you don't
have the receivers to get away from our guys. That's
what he's gonna do it. He wants to get in
your face, disrespect you. Play Cover three and every for
every now and then he'll light you up with the blitz. Right.
He doesn't feel like he has to blitz with his
guys because his four guys upfront get home.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 6 (33:16):
And that's what's so dangerous about it.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
It feels like they're blitzing when they're not.
Speaker 6 (33:19):
It feels like they're blitzing when they're not because they're
winning their matchups. When you have multiple guys on the
d line, you literally if you if you double team
one guy on the defensive line, you're isoing everybody else.
And so you're either gonna give Milton Williams a one
on one. You're either gonna give Jaylen Carter a one
on one, which you better not. You're gonna give Jordan Davis,
(33:39):
Big Baby Davis a one on one, which he just
will overpower you as like over it's like trying to
one on one Vida vea. You just don't do it,
or you're gonna have Josh Wett, which one like I
saw if you want to. Right. So, like they literally
have a matchup nightmare up front, and because of that,
their linebackers room free, right, and when they roll their
safeties down there, that's nasty as well. So when you
play that cover three where you play man to man
(34:02):
and you have that eighth guy in the box, you
literally can do what you want. Think about old school
Seattle Seahawks defense back when they had the legion of
boom Yeah, single high safety. Right, you rode camp Chancellor
down into the box, right, You had a safety, You
had a safety, you had Earl Thomas running around sideline.
The sideline, you had Sherm and those guys on at
the corners playing being aggressive, and your defense up front
(34:23):
was nasty and agree exactly.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
People give them a lot of credit for the secondary,
but that doesn't work unless the d line is what.
Speaker 6 (34:29):
It trickles down. It starts up front, goes to the
second level, goes to the third level. So that's what
those guys have going defensively. I don't need to get
into all their different blitzes because they just don't do
it a bunch because they don't have to right, So
coverage wise, it's not very tricky. They're not trying to
trick you. They're literally lining up the same as playball.
My guys are better than yours and they're at the
top of the league defensively because of it.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Yeah, and they continue to do it in different ways.
Like you said, it depends on which game, which unit,
and which level ends up shining. It can be that
defensive line could be linebacker core, you could be the
cornerbacks for secondary in general. That's that's what's scary about
this team is the way that they have levels to
their defense and playmakers at each one of them.
Speaker 9 (35:10):
This is I mean, simply put, this is the best
roster I think in the NFL.
Speaker 10 (35:13):
Had to tell it's just ridiculous. How well they've drafted,
how well they've developed.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Traded, traded period. Zach Bond was a free agent. You
got to give Howie roseman.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
He's aggressive man.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (35:25):
You know, when you look at that twenty twenty three
draft class, if you would redraft it, I think Jalen
Carter is the number one overall pick probably. I mean,
he is a game wrecker completely, and from his days
at Georgia to now, he's an absolute game wrecker.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
So and I thought there was gonna be a breath
of fresh air after Fletcher Cox retired and then.
Speaker 9 (35:42):
Forget that, just reload.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
It's a good thing. He's only Georgia boy over there though.
Speaker 10 (35:46):
Right, Oh no, there's only like what four of them? Yeah,
and you know, you know, you talk about Nolan Smith,
another Georgia got who plays outside linebacker.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
We haven't even Mitchell to them in the draft. He's
probably the best corner in the draft. Absolutely. He was
available for the Cowboys whenever they picked too sorry sorry.
Speaker 10 (36:08):
Mentioned Cooper Cooper dejen that secondary is for how young
they are, They're incredibly talented. So this this team is
going to be good for a really long time. And
I know Cowboys fans don't want to hear that, but
that's just how they've built this roster. You know, Nolan
Smith last five weeks eleven pressures, one hundred and fifteen
pass rushers.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
That's nearly as many.
Speaker 10 (36:25):
As you had in the other twenty six games of
his entire career. So he's playing some of his best
football in this Eagles team, even coming off of that
loss against Washington, I think has a little bit more
to prove this week.
Speaker 9 (36:37):
They've got a chance to clinch the division if they
win on Sunday.
Speaker 10 (36:40):
Just to just really, really, really scary team when they're
healthy and when they're playing at a high level. Now,
when it comes to the Cowboys offense, it's not the
best matchup between because Cooper Rush does not play well
against own and he does not do well under pressure.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
So this is going to be for me. This is
a Mike McCarthy.
Speaker 10 (36:57):
Prove it game where you've got to come out, you've
got to have a good script, you've got to have
great play calls. You've got to get your quarterback the
ball out fast, get it to your playmakers in space,
and test some of the younger guys in the secondary.
The Commander's kind of picked on Mitchell a little bit
down the stretch there. That's not going to happen every time.
He's way too good to get beat each time. But
you've got to find a way to test these younger
(37:17):
guys like Deujine Blank and Ship and Mitchell on the outside.
Speaker 4 (37:20):
I just mean like, yeah, you say that, and we're
testing them with don't what the.
Speaker 6 (37:28):
But I get it.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Jonathan Bingo get it done, dog Like.
Speaker 9 (37:33):
You know, if Jonathan Mingo can finally get a good pass,
maybe we can.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
Have a question.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Yes, shot runner, No, I'm not.
Speaker 6 (37:39):
I'm just saying, my guy, my instincts say that CD
is probably going to wrap it up for the year.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
I'm kind of in that.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
I would not to my my No, that's my opinion.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Let me yeah, let me just breakfast this that none
of us know anything whether he'll be there and.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
We're sitting in a podcast. Yes, my my spiders sense
to say that. Yeah, right, Like what's like for what
I shoulder?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
If Jerry is saying Oh, good call. If Jerry is
saying that on the fan that it's in his the
ball is in his court to whether or not he
wants to go.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
Yeah, and think about it from him, I think.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
That's the tail sign to me is like, man, he
fought through, he got to one hundred receptions on the year,
he had another one hundred yard game.
Speaker 6 (38:20):
And think about it from the business perspective and as
a fan, right, as a fan, do you want to
subject CD Lamb to a potential major injury that he
would not be available to you next year?
Speaker 15 (38:30):
No?
Speaker 5 (38:31):
No, it doesn't start the season at training camp, which
he needs to do.
Speaker 6 (38:33):
So that's the That's what these guys, this organization is
looking at CD. You've done everything that you can. You
show your heart, go sit your butt down. That's that's
my opinion. Okay, So with the potential of no CD Lamb,
what's your what is your angle against his defense? Oh?
Speaker 2 (38:51):
Good luck? Forty five passing yards maybe over under.
Speaker 5 (38:56):
I'm taking the over on that one.
Speaker 6 (38:57):
Who's your leading receiver?
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Cooks?
Speaker 9 (39:00):
Probably Cooks are Tolbert, I would say Tolbert, Yeah, Tolbert.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
And he's he's been playing better than last year.
Speaker 5 (39:06):
They've had a lot of chemistry.
Speaker 9 (39:07):
Luke Scomaker playing better as ferguson Fergie.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Who's your top receiver?
Speaker 6 (39:13):
Guys? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Deleted that fruit? Where there come from?
Speaker 6 (39:17):
There? He just deleted it?
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Well, who's your top receiver?
Speaker 5 (39:20):
We got to go to break.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
We'll answer that right after this with more talking cowboys.

(42:50):
favorite artists.
