Ray held a grudge against his parents. They did not believe in him and would release discouraging statements to Ray. He rebelled by going into prostitution with gays and old women. He had a girlfriend whom he loved enough to marry her. But his mother did not approve of the girl since she belonged to a dysfunctional family.
