Speaker 1 (00:52):
I'm doing great, pal, just enjoying this beautiful fall weather.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Oh my gosh, I stosen't mean it's like barely fall weather.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
I know, it's the best. Yeah, it was like this
all the time. I'd be great. Yeah, slightly chilled. There's
like a little chill here.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
It's that it's that weird kind of weather where when
I bring the kids to the bus stop, I'm like cold, right,
and I'm like all right, we gotta wear jackets. And
then by the time they get off the bus, it's
like there's in a T shirt. Ye, so yes, it's
(01:32):
that kind of weather, but I just a weather T shirt.
But yes, yes, perfect weather to go to the apple orchard.
And that is what I did this weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
How was it?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It was so much fun. We went and tried a
new place that I've never been to. Usually we go
to this place that's only like twenty minutes south of
US sure, but we decided to go a little bit further.
We went down to Jordan, Minnesota. There's a place called
Ferguson's and the property is huge.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, that place is enormous, right.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It's enormous. There's so many things to do for the kids.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Cool.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
We did like a corn maze and then they have
these giant like pits filled with corn so it's like
a corn. They had like this big, like jumpy thing
that looked like a pumpkin. They had hay rides. Say,
I mean, it was just like non stop fun. And
(02:37):
because it's the Vikings Bye week, I definitely recognized our
current quarterback with his family really fun and my kids
were just jumping around with Carson Wentz's kids, so that
was kind of fun. And dude, he didn't get talked
to once like, I was pretty I was pretty impressed
(02:59):
by people just not knowing or just being respectful.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Honestly, good job everybody, that's pretty cool. Yep.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
But I was telling bugs before this, I'm a little
full because Kelsey decided to make a delicious apple crisp
from all the.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Apple elliect didn't ask, are we're doing whipped cream on this?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Are we doing ice ice cream?
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah? That's that's right. I mean it's just right. I
love it, Okay, I love.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
It so and I didn't need it. I was full
after dinner, and then it was like, what about the
apple cris was.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Like you were like, well, I'm I'm not saying no
to that. Absolutely. If I do, just put me out
of my misery exactly.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
But a little sluggish, a little on the full side.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yes, Oh well that's fun. Man. Is that the one
I think I've been to? That one? Is it right
next to that giant candy store? Like the same egg
right to it?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I mean, yeah, we don't go.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
The ones we go that way?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah. Yeah. We did end up going to the largest
candy store in Minnesota afterwards.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Of course you should.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I'd never been in there. It was the kids first time. Dude,
it's wild. I will never go back in there, at
least not Saturday PM.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I bet it was nuts in there.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Was insanity, dude, it was crazy.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
But lots of different kinds of candy, lots of fun
stuff going on.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah, they had lots of I have been there for
years now, but they had lots of like English candy
at a time when that wasn't a thing you could find.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
They have all doubt.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
They just have everything now.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
I think.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
I think it's like, what's the biggest one.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I went and it was, Yeah, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
How much she dropping there? Several thousand?
Speaker 3 (04:57):
No, they they do only take cash and they have
an ATM there, and so I was like, I'm not
taking out more than good dollars. There's no chance I'm
taking out more than one hundred and we I think
we had sound like sixty bucks. But I bought stuff
for like my folks, and like.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
That's a good restraint. Yeah cool, I'll pick up my
candy next time I see it.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Nor Yeah, yeah, I got you a nut, goodie you.
So I didn't really, I didn't.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I didn't do it, guys.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
I wouldn't do that to you.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
I got him a good nutty. Uh, buddy, it was
what have you been watching any films?
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Yes, So I'm I'm deciding to pivot because today I
actually watched a film because I saw that Shane Black,
who wrote and directed the movie that we are talking
about today, had a brand new movie come out. I
believe it was this weekend and it was called Play Dirty.
(06:01):
It is straight to Prime. Pretty big cast. We got
Mark Wahlberg, we got the Keith Stanfield, Keegan, Michael Key,
Thomas Jane, Tony Shaloub, we got a bunch of folks.
And it's like thieves that are It's like kind of
heisty love.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
It all good ingredients.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yes, And I was like hooked in the beginning and
then it just got long, like it ends up being
like two hours.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
And I felt like the last like forty minutes. I
just I was like actively like, let's move it along, guys,
Like I feel like it gets really convoluted, it just
gets real messy. Yeah. And they also got very ambitious
(06:56):
with what they wanted to happen, like cinematically, so we
had some pretty serious CGI stuff going on, and you
could tell that they just didn't have that kind of budget. Yeah,
and that's always distracting for.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Me, uh man, because it's like just make it, like,
find a cooler way to do it, because there's yeah,
there are ways I can't. I'm not saying I could
do it, but you know, like these folks. Finally, Yeah,
that's a bummer.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yeah. So I ended up not loving it very much.
And I really really love Shane Black. I love writing
and like rite out the Gate, like all the dialogue,
it's really quick, snappy. We were like, it's going to
be really fun, and then then it just kind of
keeps going bomber. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Well I've never heard of it, and now I'm never
going to watch it.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
There. Yeah, if you got, you know, nothing better to do,
I guess very very violent, very violent, lots of lots
of shooting. Oh but yeah, played dirty. It's on Prime
play Dirty. It is not my favorite thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Bummer, bummer, but it happens.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
It does.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
What are you gonna do? I like it? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:15):
What was the last movie you watched?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
I went to the theater and I saw a movie
called Splitsville. Have you seen a preview for this or anything?
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I know all about Splitsville?
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yes, Okay, cool. Well, then for everyone else, I thought
it looked good. Features Dakota Johnson, Atria, Ariona or r Shona.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I think it's our honah and.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Both ways.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Okay, she is beautiful and she's She was.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
In that Glenn Powell movie where he was like all
the different characters, right, and she was really good than
that too. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I think she was in the and Or series as well,
which she's currently dating Jason Momoa. Oh stop pipped YEA
power couple.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Wow. I wish I could have her life, I mean
his life.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
The two dudes I had not heard of. One of
them wrote and directed. Actually they both wrote it apparently
I'm finding out just the second and the other one
wrote and directed it, so I didn't recognize them. This
is a really weird, fun movie. It's about like two
couples that are friends. There's like some some Splitsville happening,
(09:31):
and then we find out one of the couples has
like an open situation going on, and then they crossed
the streams and then all hell breaks loose. It is
the wackiest movie I've seen in a long time, in
a very fun way, Like it was very crazy. I
(09:53):
laughed out loud a ton of times. It is kind
of dark comedy at points, you know, like a little
liken realistic and whatever. But yeah, it's a it's a
rom man, it was. It's nuts. Things go in directions
you don't expect. It's an hour forty five, but it
does not feel long even a little bit. It's crazy
(10:14):
how those fifteen minutes can make such a big difference,
you know.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
But I mean, if you're invested and you're enjoying the plot,
you can keep going.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
But if it's bad and it's long, you're like, dang.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
It, come on, Yeah, moving on.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I really liked this movie a lot. I thought it
was a ton of fun. Yeah, I just it was crazy,
it was bonkers.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
I just am loving all of Dakota Johnson's choices, all
the coolest choices. She's making cool movies. Man. Yeah she's
I mean, I didn't watch Madam Webb and I heard
that was a train wreck. But like her, like smaller her, smaller,
like indie movies. She is crushing.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Yeah, she's killing it man. Yeah, she's really fun. And
I really liked the lead dude in this Kyle Marvin
was his name. He was the one who helped write
but not directed it, and I liked him a lot.
I thought he was great. So cool, it's worth checking out.
Like I said, I think it's in theater still, but
it'll prib be streaming at some point. I don't really
(11:17):
know how that works, but yeah, go check it out.
It's fun.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
I will.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Have you been streaming anything?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I sure have. I went over to Apple TV Plus
and I binged the second season of Platonic in a
very fast fashion. I love that love that show. I
love Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne. I love their chemistry together.
Hell yeah, it's just so much fun. The surrounding characters
(11:45):
are also a good time in this. Not huge names,
but people that you recognize. If you liked the first season,
you'll definitely like the second season. And yeah, just a
very big year for Seth Rogan and an Apple TV shows.
He's just killing it with this in the studio nice.
So yeah, these are I think these are only like
(12:08):
half hour episodes, maybe forty minutes.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, pretty season one. I'm excited to watch season two.
I didn't realize it was already out. That's great, that's great.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
It just finished up and I saw the last episode
come out, so I was just like, let's get this
done nice.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
It was a good timing, bud, good timing.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Love it.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Love that. I'm going to pivot fun. I'm going to
talk about a show that I almost nailed the timing
on but not quite okay, because I watched in rapid
succession myself the first six episodes of Task and just.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
I'm caught up as well.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Real good dude, it was a full ride. Yeah, really
really fun.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
It is that the six episode isn't the last episode.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
No, there's one. That's why I'm saying. So I watched
the one last night and then I was like, but
there's one more. Just watched all of it. Yeah, that's
what it says online. So they got a lot to
do in the last episode.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
I wonder if it's gonna be like a two hour
episode or something.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
It might be. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
I feel like to wrap up.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah, I don't know. I really like it. If you
guys are okay with some like you know, kind of
serious stuff. It's not like a it's not too big
of a bummer, but there's definitely violence and you know,
some some killings and things. But really good show is
awesome in it that girl from Sultburn. What is her name?
(13:37):
She's really good? What is her name from Sultburn. Yeah,
she's the crazy blonde gal from Sultburn. Alison Oliver is
her name. She's Elizabeth Stover in this she's the like
kind of like a frumpy town cop or whatever in
this one. And she's really good, Uh, really fun. I
(14:01):
like her a lot nice and a super different part
than Saltburne. And I hope I'm right about that, but
I feel like that's got to be her.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Amelia Jones is in it too, from Coda, which is
so colda yea, and also another part that is very
different from from what we've seen her do. And then
but Ruffalo is awesome. That Tom Pelfrey guy who was
also an ozark O incredible.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
He was killing that Philly accent.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Oh yeah, what are we going to do about it?
It was such a weird I want to talk to
Chatham only in that voice now for a while. Yeah,
but it's funny.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
It's very different from Pittsburgh, true Pittsburgh eese.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
But it's not it's weird.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
It's weird how different it is in the same.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
And so the way they do their vowels is, so
I find myself repeating them a lot when I'm watching,
just because I'm like, why though.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
Yeah, they kind of do the water water, but.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
They also do where you going, you know. It's like
almost it's it's like, it's very strange. It's a fun
little it's fun. I like that stuff. But yeah, I
really love this show. Task It's on HBO. I don't
know if I said that. I apologize if I did.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
It is on HBO.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
It's over on HBO, and it's it's really fun. Man,
it's so good a lot. Yeah, that's really haven't It's
been a while too since I got like sucked into
that kind of a show, you know, And I was like, yeah,
that that is a special kind of yumminess when you're like, well,
I know what I want to do.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
For the rest of the evening, you know.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
So yeah, it was really fun.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Did I ask you what you're streaming yet? Yep?
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Thank you for listening. Yep, it was platonic. I don't
care about that. I was texting our guests and so
maybe I forget.
Speaker 1 (15:54):

of every episode that we put out our podcast and
chill version, and we'll usually do a top five draft
that pertains to the movie we're talking about, and for
this one, we decided to do our top five favorite
movie Private Investigator.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Great call, Bud, this was your idea, and I was like,
good call, we have not done that. That's it. And honestly, I.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
Was like, there's gonna be so many I was like,
I picked like sixteen.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Yeah, it was kind of hard. So it was more
diff than I thought. For sure.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
I wasn't doing like detective. I was going for private investigators.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
So it did you come up with any ones that
you're like, I think that's a fun one, a sneaky one,
because I did a lot of a couple of sneaky ones.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
I don't have sneaky ones.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Maybe not sneaky, but we did what we could.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
So nice.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Nice. We will look forward to that, Greg. But we're
here today to talk about a lovely film featuring a
private investigator of courts. This is a little movie called Kiss, Kiss,
Bang Bang two thousand and five, celebrating its twenty year anniversary.
And we had to get one of our best buddies
on for this because I think this movie comes up
(17:46):
every time he's on.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
I came up a lot and he was shocked. You
hadn't seen it until not that long ago.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I know, it's crazy. So well, let's give him back.
You guys know him, you love him. Let's give it
up for Timmy.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
It's not what's up Timmy? Hey, guys, you doing, buddy.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
I'm doing terrific. How are you guys doing so good.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Good glad you're already.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
I know it's a quick trinner round.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
I know what were you just on for? Because my
brain is.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Soup almost famous.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Yeah, oh yeah, that's right. That was like a month ago,
two months ago.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
I think it was just last month. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
I usually we're like, we haven't had you on for
so long.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Well, and we had kiss Kiss Bang bang earlier, like
in the calendar. I was like, we just had Timmy
on it, and I wanted him on for this movie,
so let's yeah, let's switch things around a bit.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
I've talked about this movie more often on this podcast
than any of the movies we've actually talked about.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
That's what I said. I was like, it's come up,
I think every time. So we had to bring him,
We had to have it happen. Yeah, and we're so
happy that you're here to be.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Timmy wants to make sure that you support his favorite
band of all time go to home free music dot com.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Let let's do that, please do.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I don't know if he feels that way, but I do,
and I.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Love it nice?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Now you do? Yeah you do?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (19:11):
They're great and they smell pretty good, pretty good.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
I mean pretty good than probably.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Come on, no, you guys do smell pretty good not lying,
and I really get in there.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
He really all right, I really do.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Let's keep on going.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
All right, that's a awkward We're here to talk about
kiss kiss bang bang your anniversary, and I think wet's
just get right into it. Rob, you want to hit
us with a rough SYNOPSI.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Let's do it. Two bit crook Harry Lockhart stumbles into
an audition for a mystery film while on the run
from the cops. Winning the part, he lands in Hollywood,
where he's flung into a tangled murderous conspiracy with his
childhood sweetheart Harmony Lane and hard boiled private eye Perry
(20:04):
Van Shrike. This deadpan, affectionate parody of film noir tropes
is named for film critic Pauline Kale's influential nineteen sixty
eight collection of film reviews and essays which I think
we needed in the plot synopsis. So I'm glad that
I read you two.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
It actually made me feel good, because that's how I
feel sometimes when I'm reading the trivia, where I'm like,
I clearly didn't read this whole section. Yeah, now I'm
already halfway through.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
I could have probably just taken off that last sentence
would have been okay. But now we know why it
was named Kiss Kiss the.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Beauty man, see all the glory.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Well, you're learning stuff.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
I love it. I think you're right as previously said,
smell pretty good. Let's go to Rotten Tomatoes and hear
what they have to say. Critics have this coming in
at a pretty rock solid eighty six percent boom. That's
pretty fresh.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
That is pretty fresh. I thought it would be more
than that, if I'm being honest, but I did.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Intriguing has a weird, weird relationship with the establishment in Hollywood,
but I.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Love him, so I love his parte.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
That's pretty true with you. I mean, eighty six is
not bad.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
No, it's not bad.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
I just I thought it might be yeah or whatever.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
People don't.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Audience members, though, had it one to higher. They had
at eighty seven. Is that more what you think? Is
your like? Perfect?
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Perfect? Yes? That is exactly what I thought.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
The critics would love it and the fans would like
it a little less.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
A little tiny bit. No, Well, let's go in here.
What we think. It's time for our hot take.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Hot take.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
That's a hot take.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
That's a hot take.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Whoah, spicy.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
I think that's the thing that you put on my
desticles is burning?
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Oh yeah, the battery charger? Or is this a different event?
This was just just talking about the movie or something
happening off Kevin.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Thanks, get it.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
It's sweetie Penny, get out of here one tonight.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
I will go first. I've only seen this movie a
couple of times. I think this was my second watch,
which we've talked about a number of times. I know, Timmy,
but I think it's the more I watch it, the
crazier I think it is, because how did I miss
this movie? Super? I mean, I think we all. I
(22:44):
think it's fair to say we all love Shane Black
and his various pieces of entertainment that he's given us.
This has like all the hallmarks right, Like it's gritty,
it's funny. They've got like the witty banter that happens,
it's you know, off color end points, and dark comedy
at points, but always has like a really fun kind
(23:05):
of smirk behind all of its comedy. I think in
a really fun way. In this one, specifically, I love
the narration and the breaking of the third wall. It's mentioned,
it's mentioned in the.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Trivia, but like, yeah, I was like, that's not right.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
It was so good. It broke the third and fourth
man all up in that thing. It was crazy. Yeah,
just the third wall. You can see on stage.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
I'm an idiot.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
It's okay, live in three dimensions. I'm over here in too.
I can't afford the third one. Okay, the narration is great.
It's said in the trivia, but like, it makes so
much sense to me that Downy got got to be
Tony Stark after this movie because he basically is. He
(23:58):
totally was just like, yeah, I'm gonna play that character
with like some different stuff. I'm obviously also a genius
and a great engineer and all these things, right, but man,
he is just like he's firing on all cylinders in
this movie, and it's really really fun. Yeah. I just
think this movie is really a great time, some great actors,
some very thanksy pots and things. Really fun to add
(24:22):
to your Christmas traditions, because this is obviously a Christmas film.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Yeah, that is something Shane Black really loves to do.
He does a lot of Christmas movies.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
I think that's very silly and a good time. I
just thought of this while you were saying this, And
at the risk of sounding like an idiot, does his
friend die that gets shot at the beginning, because because
he really gets over that quick if he does die, yeah,
he seems to think he's going to die.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
He does yeah out And didn't he say he can't
walk anymore or something?
Speaker 1 (25:00):
I'm sorry, I've only seen it twice. This is on you, guys.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Yeah, I mean we we assume that because we see
him get shot, left were dead. I don't know. I
thought I thought at some point he says he can't
walk anymore. But maybe that's why that that's something else
I don't I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Well, if he dies, he gets over it pretty quick.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
He does.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Well, okay, I guess that's fine.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Google's AI he is dead.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Oh okay. Interesting cool. I don't know if I trust that. Also,
I wish I get it. It's part of the film.
But I kind of wish Shane Black had come up
with a different thing other than like child abuse for
the like lynchpin of the plot, because that was just
(25:54):
I sort of the whole time was like a bomber
that though like I don't know, I do hear that
it felt like it was hand waved away a little bit.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Well, but then it's not. Then they have an extremely
intense scene that feels kind of like what movie am
I watching? Like it kind of is like, yeah, this
is really a lot. But you're glad that they reference
it because it was a little kind of just like,
all right, this is just a part of the movie.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
I just kind of wish it wouldn't have been though,
and then they wouldn't have had to have that intense scene,
you know, like, yeah, I mean, I guess the plot,
you know, I kind.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Of love that scene a lot. It just kind of
feels out of place in the rest of the movie.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Yeah, it's interesting anyway, that's my hottest take. It's just
an interesting one. But I really like this movie a lot.
I think it's fun.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
I'll take, I'll take I've always loved this movie. Like
we said, written and directed by Shane Black, I really
enjoy almost all of his things. However, Timmy, I was
saying at the beginning of this, I watched his very
like I think he just released it this weekend. Written
and directed Shane Black film called played Dirty and It's
(27:09):
Not Great, which he didn't like it. I didn't love it,
but you know, he did lethal weapon films, The Last Boy, Scout,
The Long Kiss good Night, which we've done an episode
on The Nice Guys as well, so but apparently this
was this was his film directorial debut, and I thought
(27:30):
he did a really good job. Yeah, he got an
awesome cast led by Robert Downey Jr. In the late
Great Val Kilmer. I love all the humor and how
fast the jokes are said. Just Robert Tony Jr. Was
perfect for this. I thought it was a fun, comedic
murder mystery. I enjoyed the plot and it being explained
(27:50):
by Robert Downey Junior throughout the film with the narration.
All in all, movies so much fun. I adore it.
I'm so happy to rewatch and talk about it. One
of my hot takes. So. I loved how they kind
of used the Jossy Jossey the Johnny Gossamer novels as
(28:11):
like foreshadowing to tell us what's coming up in the movie,
and it got the two cases that end up being
the one case they talk about how the guy always
gets caught and tortured and whatever, but then they very
specifically say and make it a point to be like,
and then they end up killing sixteen guys and then
you're like, go, I was going through and I was like,
(28:33):
they didn't kill sixteen guys, So I'm like, why would
they make such a big point out of like, yeah,
it's always sixteen, Like why why do they do that?
So I just don't understand why they would have made
that such a big deal. And that's my hottest take.
That's why it gets a nine instead of a ten
(28:53):
for me because of that.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Dude, I read the scene with the sixteen almost like
Chris Wig and uh do like the thing? Yeah like
that that they were almost just ad libbing and he
did sixteen and she did sixteen and they were trying
to be cute. It's a fun segue into my my
hot take, and it's what I love this movie. I mean,
(29:19):
that's that's the take. I absolutely love this movie. I
don't remember if I watched it on your recommendation or
if I watched it and then just we connected shortly
thereafter because they both loved it. But it's so good
and one of the things I love about it is
it does keep telling you exactly what it is and
exactly what's going to happen, but then it's subverts that
(29:39):
those expectations just a little. So you know, it'll say
the first scene where he's doing the magic trick and
the girl screams and you're like, oh, he just cut
that girl and half it sure, and then she, like
Riley just you know, smiles and like how was that.
It's like, oh, it's going to be like that. Like
nothing nothing is quite as it seems. So they just
(30:00):
keep setting you up with telling you all of the
things that are going to happen, and you know, if
there's two cases in one and then it ends up
not being that you know, obviously spoiler alert, Harmony's sister
wasn't part of the bigger plot after all. They were
just kind of pulled into it, right, So it's it's
a fun watch. But the best part he has touched
on it it's it's not even the plot, Like the
(30:21):
plot of the movies is fine and kind of complex, honestly,
and it's not m Night shambal on that makes you think, like,
you know, like holy they got me there, But it's
the banter throughout and just like the dialogue throughout is
so low written and I would just watch RDJ and
Val Kilmer go back and forth and that they're writing
(30:44):
so quick and Monahan's perfect in it. You do have
this crossroads, you know, Shane Black directorial debut Monahan. I
don't think I had seen her in anything, and she
hadn't been in much before this. Yeah, definitely was my
introduction to her.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Yeah when ad Mission Impossible three come out, wasn't she? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Cool?
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Well after this and then you know RDJ was was
kind of gone for a while, and this wasn't his
first post recovery movie, but it was kind of his big,
big breakout, I think the most successful. And then you
kind of said it like you can see Tony Starker
and all over this and it just kind of relaunched.
(31:25):
I think RDJ intwo superstar. When he was he was
toxic for a while, like no one was touching him.
So it's a important movie for a number, you know,
besides being great, it just kind of sparked a lot
of careers. And that Villa Tilber guy, I never heard
of him until this one. What Yeah, that's the one exception,
(31:46):
but yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Yeah, that's crazy. This was one of her first movies.
She was in the Born Supremacy a year.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Earlier, which had to be a bit part, but she
was it a big part.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
I don't know. I don't remember that one.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
I couldn't. Supremacy is not my favorite.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
The only other movie she was in was something called
Winter Solstice. It runs in the family Unfaithful and Perfume
and I don't know any of those.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
So cool.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Interesting, look how.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
This mission Apostle three was the next year?
Speaker 1 (32:19):
It was the next year, be an idiot, it's way later,
it was months whatever, No, no, I get it, I
get it for sure. Well, hot take pass, hot takes
all around. Shall we go through and name our favorite
acting performance?
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Name the dude.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
know that? Or his dude or duder or you know
eldudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing, Timmy,
who do you got for your dude?
Speaker 4 (32:56):
The dude is R d J all day.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
This is any I don't.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Think it's that close, although a lot are well, several
very good performances here, but you kind of touched on it.
You can totally trace how this performance, like yes, was
the skeleton key for him unlocking Tony Stark and what
he wanted to do. And it's almost Harry's role in
this movie combined with Perry, because Tony Stark is ken
(33:23):
of has Perry's like deadpan, like you're an idiot. Like
some of the things that Perry says to Harry are
things that Tony would say to any number of characters
and avengers. It's just but it's so clear to see
that you know this he tapped into something here maybe yeah,
you know, always had it and this just highlights it.
But the movie works because of him. He plays that
(33:46):
you know, charming buffoon so well where he keeps doing
everything wrong, but like you can understand other people around
him don't want to completely dismiss him. And he's he's
so quick. He's as good as snappy dialogue as any actor.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Yeah, he really is.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
It's great, however long so yeah it's RDJ.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah, super easy. Uh. He acts the hell out of it.
The dialogue comes out of him so easily. Easily, it
seems like he's almost improvising the whole time, just the
way he just like totally inhabits the character. He has
to break down a couple of times. He has to
act under the influence, which can be kind of tough
(34:29):
sometimes has to get in romance mode.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Do you think that's weird when you're like a recovering
I wonder about that. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
That seems definitely has a lot of experience.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Researched.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Yeah, I just wonder that's interesting.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
He had to do a ton of stuff all the
wild being hilarious. So yeah, definitely definitely the dude.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Well, it's a clean sweep. I agree wholeheartedly. I just
think he's so great in this. And obviously I love
Tony Stark because I love both Marvel movies, but in this,
and I do, I think the character is different enough
that it's still super fun. And like you said, he
you know, he's crying, He's doing all kinds of stuff
in this, a lot of like physical humor, which I
(35:14):
kind of forgot from my first watch through. But he's
really good at that too. This is really fun. Yeah,
I'm with you. He's definitely the dude for me.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Boom. Well, let's talk about some of the supporting characters
and let's choose the dude.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
How about that one? Tim for me?
Speaker 4 (35:33):
This one's also obvious and honestly, probably closer to the
dude for me than he was for you guys. But
Val Kilmer Gaye Perry like, uh, you know, it's a
two hander for a lot of the movie. And he's
so good in this He's so direct, he's you don't
see Val Kilmer in a ton of comedic roles like
(35:57):
he's he's such a good actor, and he like melts
in the character and just watching him kind of just
get to be funny and quick and witty. Yeah, was phenomenal.
And he kills it like he just takes down Raberdowney
Junior every scene, Like every scene he's just belittling him,
but in an endearing way where it's not me like
you you see like him almost big brother, little brother,
(36:19):
and kind of growing fond of him through the film.
So yeah, watch the tightrope. But any scene that the
two of them are in together is why this movie
is magico.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Yeah. And he's so like hyper effective too. I love that,
like he always knows pretty much what's going on, even
if he doesn't know the whole part, you know, he's
ready and you know, ready to roll. It's fun. I
love that pic.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yeah, I would have picked him as well. Most of
my favorite lines in this film are from him being
just exhausted by how stupid Harry is. Hell Ya, And honestly,
I think this is my second favorite Vel Kilmer role
behind Doc Holiday.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Yes, that Holiday's gotta be first.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Oh, not even close. That's one of my favorite roles.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Close to me, Like really, that's awesome.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
I almost say this role butt got Colly Days so
so so so good.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
Yeah, so yeah, I would have definitely picked him as well.
Run her up obviously as Michelle Mont Again, I feel like, oh,
there's just nobody that's even close, uh to those two Otherwise,
I mean it's really just those three folks that are
in its consistently.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
They're the bulk of it for sure.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
And yeah, I also wrote down this was one of
the first times I remember seeing her. I did see
the movie Unfaithful. You must have seen her. I don't
remember her in that, so it must have been a
pretty small role. Is that the that's the Diane Lane
Richard Gere. Yeah, really intense if you haven't seen it,
big I've ever seen it. No, it's crazy, but yeah,
(37:50):
and she was pretty funny in this too.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
It was was so hum really really funny in this.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
She keeps up with him, so you know, like the
repartee stuff and fun to She actually like got some
funny parts written for her because it doesn't know what's
happened for you know, lady ladies who are acting in
this world. And she's very beautiful. I don't know if
anyone noticed, but my heavens.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
Did you you watched the latest White Lotus right? She was?
Speaker 1 (38:16):
She was?
Speaker 3 (38:17):
I did that.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
She's a big partured in that too.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
One another show I haven't seen.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
I like her a lot.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Those are fun, dude. I mean they're dark and everybody's
so wed, but that I do like that show.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
I missed the There's three seasons, is that right?
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (38:31):
I think she's in the she's in the third. That
makes sense.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
That makes sense.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
She's great. Love that love both those picks. So I'll
go with my weird third one because I recognized a
young person.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
That was crazy, dude, the seven year old version of her.
Did you know who that was? I didn't know until
this rewatch. Oh that's fun. No, I didn't either.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
It's Aeriel Winter from a Modern Family, and I just
thought that was so wild. I was like, oh my god,
is that her?
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Because it looks like I went back rewound it like
after I saw the cast, so so I was like,
that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Oh yeah, I noticed in real time, which I was.
It does not always happened for me, but luckily it
was early, got me early. But yeah, it was really fun.
She doesn't get to do much, but she's in one
of my favorite sitcoms of all time, so it was
just fun to see her out there doing her thing.
Shout out to Larry Miller.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Miller, he's so funny, Miller, I love it.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
Yeah. I kind of remembered him being in it more too,
but I guess I just misremembered that and it was
fun to see Shannon.
Speaker 3 (39:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
I didn't realize that was hurt any point until after
the factor research. Either such a role, love love.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Her what else? She was a nice tale.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
She forty Nights, which I have unbelievable side like, I
adore that movie me too. If I revisited it, I'm
sure I can't age.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Well, no, it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
His body is no way.
Speaker 4 (40:15):
Just there's there's ansible at the end of the movie.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Right, there's straight up there's one end.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
His ex just grapes him over like no. It never
gets addressed in any meaningful way except that his new
girlfriend's upset at him about it, which pretty pretty because
we're interested in checking out forty you don't really need
to anymore.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
No, it was very fun at the time. I love
that movie too.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
I'm with you, but I'm a fig Josh hurting it guy.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
He's bad.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
He's back full circle. They were in a little movie
called Oppenheim.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Together and we never heard of it. Yes, okay, cool,
Uh that's kind of it. Though I didn't know corn Burnson.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
You didn't say Corbin Burnson.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Oh yeah, we didn't say corb I do like that guy.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
A major league and very much though either he's not,
but a big part of it. He's got a funny
thing that he says as he's dying, which is pretty fun.
Like that.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
Was a good death scene.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
Yeah, and then I liked the dash Meehawk and Rockman
Dunbar two.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Those two. Yea, they just gave.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Him like weird like kind of nineteen like forties like
noir kind of how they were speaking to each other.
It was different.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Yeah, I did not know what Mike and Ike meant,
and that was interesting.
Speaker 3 (41:50):
I looked it up last Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Well, and apparently it also means salt and pepper. And
so it was like a white and a black guy
and that was like, that was what it was. Like,
that's a little it's a little bit of a stretch
right anytime, I guess, but straight out like you know,
the Maltese falcon or something.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
Like what is going on right now?
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Yeah? Absolutely, I did, like you.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
And one other thing I saw, uh that goofy commercial
that they play that Gennaro's beer that Lawrence Fishburne is
the voice of the bear.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
I did not know that.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
No, it's all fish.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
It's all fish. Yeah, why was it him? What was he?
Speaker 3 (42:36):
How did he get no idea?
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Like who thought to ask him? How did you know? What?
Speaker 3 (42:40):
I mean? Like weird, super weird weird.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
But I feel like a lot of those things are
just like literally he was feeling a movie on the
next lot.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Right, are you busy? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (42:51):
Follow minutes?
Speaker 3 (42:53):
Yeah, oh you got another one?
Speaker 4 (42:57):
No, just just echoing Larry Miller because he's so funny
in st and it almost indeeds someone that is kind
of a loof like that, like the plot's so ridiculous
and like yeah, like but it's almost he sells it.
I guess. Yeah. It feels like that's something that that
(43:18):
he would do.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
He's great and everything. He's so good.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
I do always love Larry Miller.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
I love him.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yeah, why don't we pick our favorite scene and let's
choose the dingus? So is quite simple, really ingus thingus.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I can talk about my dingus all night long.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Tell me what you got for your favorite scene.
Speaker 4 (43:42):
I haven't fully decided.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
That's hard.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
If if you have one, going, I'll come come back.
Speaker 3 (43:51):
I was going to kind of cheat. So if you
have one.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
That's fine. I think that this scene that I think
about when I think of this movie and that you
really start to see the banter between the banter between
RDJ and Vala Kilmer is the lake when their first
disposing of the body. Sure you get I feel like,
(44:18):
I say, checkout's gone on this podcast a lot too.
But you know gets me excited and you have all
just a lot of the elements that end up playing
out through the rest of the movie. You see him
there first. Yeah, So that that's the one that I'll pick,
the lake scene.
Speaker 3 (44:38):
So I am gonna take two different scenes, but they're
very close to each other, which is so it's like
it's like twelve minutes of the movie and it's when
they interrogate the guy that is like on the ground
(44:58):
the Russian and that's god. But then, Sonny, it's so funny.
But then they immediately get taken and that's like the
torture scene and we get like the the drringer out
of Val Kilmer's pants. And I think of that when
I think of this movie. So I wanted to take
(45:20):
those two together.
Speaker 4 (45:23):
That it's really all one big sequence.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
Yeah. I was laughing out loud when I thought of
that scene because I.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
Just who taught you math?
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Chance?
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Stop multiplying?
Speaker 1 (45:43):
I love That's might be my favorite one, you know,
subversion in the best way. Like that's so funny. That's
a great pick.
Speaker 3 (45:57):
Yeah, yeah, that's fun.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
Uh oh, it's my turn. Sorry When she cuts off
his finger and just nonchalantly is like, did I just
cut your finger? Yeah, it's right there. Could you grab
me like that? Can I combine two scenes? Because that
and then the dog when the dog has his finger.
Speaker 3 (46:23):
And his finger scenes, Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 4 (46:27):
It looks like the dog smoking a cigar and it's
framed just so fun. I love it.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
It's really really great.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
I just love both those just the his poor fingy,
like they slammed the door, and she just immediately was like, oh,
did I just do that? And he's like yes, they're
just so matter of fact about its doors all the time. Now,
it's scary.
Speaker 4 (46:49):
Second conversation he has with Perry in the movie where
he has to describe doing something completely ridiculous that he's
worried about leaving DNA because at first, like, I can
can they get fingerprints that a dogs? Like, I don't
think you need to worry about about the dot.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
No, he has the thing with the fingerprint on it.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
Yeah, that's like twenty minutes after he peas on a corpse.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
Right, Yeah, yeah, that was what.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
That scene. It's so great and I'll say as a
runner up for me, it's crazy because it's like the
first almost but the accidental audition.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
Is really really that was my runner up as well, and.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
Such a cool idea, Like I love that part, so fun,
super super cool.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Yeah, show off a bit too. Yeah, yeah, you know,
because he's done scenes, we've done it before. Oh yeah
I picked this, Yes.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Well then we could have done it.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
Yeah, the addition we should have gotten into more honestly
tacking about r DJ as the dude because it's it's.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
So he's really great.
Speaker 4 (47:54):
He turns it on so quick and it's like, yes,
to be as funny as he is then be able
to do that is pretty amazing.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
And Larry Miller was loving it. Yes, just love it.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
That's a funny. Part of the scene is like his
how he turns her ound for him, like when he
starts reading, like.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
Yeah, oh my god, yeah that's so great. Uh, can
I have another runner.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
Up to the Jesus Bugs everything in the.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
Hotel room when the spider goes into her bra all
of that silliness and then we already said it. But
then when the girls in the shower and he ends
up peeing on her and that whole phone conversation so fun,
so ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (48:33):
Yeah, the nipple thing where he's like kind of looking
and trying not to look that kind of and then
he sees the spider and yeah, the whole conversation after that,
And it's a good character moment for him too, because like,
you you know, this guy is pretty much a piece
of we see we talked about him leaving his friend
right away, but it shows that, you know, like he
(48:54):
has his line and like she she gets to to
see that, like, oh, there really was a spider.
Speaker 3 (48:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
Yeah, this guy is not a beat dick.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
Yeah. Well, and he also just isn't cool with that stuff,
which is great because like when they're at that party
and the guy is like, she's passed out and he's dude,
that's so funny when he talks so big and then
they have that hard cut him getting his ass handed
to him, like you cannot talk that big and then
(49:23):
be best sad at fighting like that is a great,
great cut.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
That's how I assume any fight I ever got into
would go. So I'm with him. I get it.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
Oh that was fun Yeah, so funny. I love that.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
But it worked. He didn't touch her anymore, so that's good. Yeah,
although they did go home together for.
Speaker 4 (49:44):
She didn't stay with him.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
She can take care of herself, I think. Is also
the answer to most of those questions. How did you
guys have any other runners up? Or have I said
them all?
Speaker 3 (49:56):
I mean, like I said, I thought that that last
where Val Kilmer gives it to that guy who is
the old guy and saving Private Ryan. By the way,
he's the guy that turns into Matt Damon.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Yeah, wow, I didn't Okay, I did not.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
Like it was a great scene. It's just it just
feels out of place in that movie. But it is
a really intense scene. Yeah, and I thought they both
acted the hell out of it.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
Agreed.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
That's when Val Kilmer goes.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Yea hits him and all the tough guy.
Speaker 4 (50:34):
Yeah, and he has the line harmony was right, it
was murdered. It just took. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
Yeah, I really really enjoyed that for sure.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
It's a great scene. Yeah, but I kind of agree.
It's like, I don't know, as a sort of epilogue,
it's kind of strange.
Speaker 4 (50:52):
It is.
Speaker 3 (50:52):
It is.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
It is very Lord of the Rings oly enough that movie.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
That was gonna be your hot take.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
It should have been, had it written down, and I
forgot to say it.
Speaker 4 (51:05):
I think we need to call out as an Honora mention,
just the final set piece. Robbie called out a little
bit before when he when he kills the main bad guy,
but him hanging there holding onto the hand of the course,
you know, doing the coffin the cool thing with a
gun to get it to fall into his hand.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
That was cool, quarter Salida, I got that going for him.
The audition hands.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
But if we had to pick one, what do we think?
What do we think.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
That's hard.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
I feel like we all really liked the audition. I mean,
I'm partial to mine obviously the audition, but I feel
like we all were like, yeah, the audition scenes.
Speaker 1 (51:54):
I'm happy taking years just for who taught you math?
Speaker 3 (51:56):
Because that's my favorite line.
Speaker 4 (51:59):
There's another, the funny line at the end of that
when he says, thank god you had a gun in there.
For a second, I thought it was like a gay thing,
like you guys could just do that.
Speaker 3 (52:08):
It's a great it's good. Well, let's take that. It's
it's that whole sequence. Then the interrogation turning into the
torture scene for Woo Chosen, Well, we already started kind
of saying some quotes. Let's let's keep it going, and
let's show me.
Speaker 1 (52:27):
The money, show me the money, show me Timmy, you
want to say some lines.
Speaker 4 (52:38):
I see this every time too, But I think this
is the honest to god truth that the movie line
I quote more than any other line in any other
movie is but what you are? No, I'm a bear.
I just say that all the time. It's a throwaway,
but I love Yeah, look at me like I'm an idiot.
(53:00):
I'm like one, I know, I'm a bear.
Speaker 3 (53:02):
They'll be like, I don't get it.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
Okay, it's it's a nobody understands their reference. And I
say it a lot. I don't even say I sucked
the heads off fish, but the whole line is I
sucked the heads off fish. I love it.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
And little did you know that's Laurence fish, that's Lawrence fish.
Speaker 4 (53:21):
Yeah, well that's why I liked it.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
Yeah, gravitas, I say, a couple.
Speaker 4 (53:30):
This. This kind of like with the scenes, right, there's
not like these big scenes that you're drawn to where
it's like, oh, that's the one and the lions come
at you a mile a minute, And there's not a
lot of these really like big, amazing lions. It's just
everything Perry says is hilarious, but he's directing it already.
(53:52):
I like when when Harry says, so the whole reconcilement
thing and he just goes reconciliation idiot.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
Yeah, Do you think you're stupid? I don't know if
you know where to put food at at if you
don't flap your mouth so much. Yes, I think you're stupid.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Yes, I love that. Yes, I think I think you
would know how to feed yourself. Yeah, if you didn't
flap your mouth so much. I love that one.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
That's really great.
Speaker 4 (54:19):
What do you guys got Oh?
Speaker 3 (54:21):
I got a lot.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
Oh, I'll do one more one. I laughed the loudest
at on the rewatch. And I've seen this movie a lot,
but I never remember it. But towards the beginning, actress
at the party asked him, so what do you do
for a living, And he's like, I'm retired. I invented
dice as a kid. What you do?
Speaker 3 (54:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (54:39):
She's like, I keep.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
That's it? Okay, all right, Yeah that was fun.
Speaker 1 (54:46):
That was.
Speaker 3 (54:48):
Perry's like, look up idiot in the dictionary. You know
what you'll find. It's like a picture of me. No,
the definition of the word idiot, which you are lesson.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
So hard at that.
Speaker 3 (55:04):
I love. After he learns his adverb grammar lesson, He's like,
Perry's like, go sleep badly. Any questions hesitate to call sad?
Excuse me, sleep bad Otherwise it makes it seem like
the mechanism that allows you to sleep. What who taught you?
Grammar Badly's an adverb get out vanish, get out fanish.
(55:27):
So we already said the there's like an eight percent
chance eight, who taught you mathem? Maybe maybe my favorite
one that I didn't remember. And it's like he's kind
of in his like under the influence Hayes. But he's like,
she asks who the school mascot is, She's like Whitey
(55:50):
the White Knight. It's like, I guess it's better than
Nighty Night. Then it'd be toodles and Tata And I
love that.
Speaker 1 (56:01):
That was great.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
There's some more funny ones, but I'll end with harmony.
When they're at the bar, they see this pretty lady
and she's like, well for starters, she's been more times
and she's had a hot meal. He's like, yeah, I
heard about that. It was neck and neck and then
she skipped lunch.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
She skipped lunch. That cracked me up pretty great.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
Well, you say some bugs that we.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
Kind of already talked about this, but it just cracked
me up. When he's like he's like, I pete on
the corpse. My question, He's like, no, my question, I
get to go first. Yeah, why in the perfect all
would you speak on a cord? You know? Yeah, so
so funny. I just loved the no no, no, no, no, no,
my question. I loved that out of ton when he
(56:50):
is getting his nether regions shocked in the interrogation scene. Yes,
and he's just like, stop.
Speaker 3 (56:59):
Helping, stop helping, stop helping. Loved I love that good call.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
And then at one point she's like how many fingers
and he's like, well, you put that cat down. I'm allergic.
It's really really fun.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
That was good.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
I love that a lot. That was it. That was
the last time anyone saw her well with an unsquished
symmetrical head. Yes, really correct throwaway? I think those were
all Oh no, we had one from our guy. It
(57:40):
was Larry Miller, right.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
Yeah, Larry Miller's his name.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Isn't that a basketball guy as well? That messed me up. No,
Larry Brown, Yeah, he coached Miller. Yeah there see that's
how I got there.
Speaker 3 (57:56):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
Always do this, but you can never see he sees
her on the news or whatever talking and he's like, oh, yeah,
let us do this. You can never see below the west.
It's like a Planmate in nineteen sixty four. Always behind
a bedpost or there's a shadow. You never. You never,
I'm telling you for invited her to something. Well, yeah,
he's just so good on that one. That was good.
(58:20):
Get some real thoughts on planmates being hidden.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
He did. I also had a one of the breaking
the was a second.
Speaker 1 (58:28):
Wall, yeah, the fourteenth.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
Yeah, but at the very end, Perry, at the very
very end, he's like, thanks for coming, Please stay for
the end credits. If you're wondering who the best boy is,
it's somebody's nephew. Don't forget to validate your parking. And
to all the good people in the Midwest, sorry we
said so much.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Yeah, that was great.
Speaker 3 (58:47):
I really liked that.
Speaker 4 (58:49):
There's one at the beginning of the movie, towards the
beginning that Harry says, narrating. Yeah, it was the first
time I felt how pitying is someone and wanting to
him can get all tangled up in your head over sadness. Meanwhile,
you got her Rodney. Is that sick?
Speaker 1 (59:03):
Is that sick? That's sick.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Yeah. I also liked his narration too. He's like, oh,
this is bad narrating.
Speaker 1 (59:09):
I have to go back, dang it. I would tell
a joke or no, no, the horse he was riding
was a blue horse or something. This islater, Come on.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
H's the love when they're arguing and he's like, no, no,
I think he means that when you say picture it
inside your head. Okay, does that mean a bullet will
be inside your head? Or picture it in your head
like form an image. He's got a point, you know.
I just love that. Shut up.
Speaker 3 (59:38):
Another narrating thing is Harry. He's like, don't worry. I
saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end
this seventeen times. That was good.
Speaker 1 (59:44):
Yeah, I hated that.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
Yeah, I figured you'd hate that. And then yeah, when
Harlan Dexter gets shot, he yells out Captain Magic.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3 (59:56):
That would be kind of a fun top five I
have just like the funniest thing. Somebody said wild that
would be That would be tough. We would need some time,
but that would be up there.
Speaker 4 (01:00:12):
There's a quick little throw away line. Mostly these are
throw away lines, but when they get away from the
interrogation scene and you should just harm me on the phone,
Oh god, how did you get away? And Perry in
the background says I shot him with a small revolver.
I keep near my balls.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
I keep my balls near my balls.
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Yeah that's good. That's a good one to end on.
Let's uh, let's go to Bug's boohoo moments. I thought
maybe two.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
I was going to pick zero, and I was like,
there might be two. That scene that's kind of really intense, uh,
scene with Val Kilmer and the old guy from saving
Private Ryan.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
I thought maybe that didn't get me, but it was
partly because of what you said where I was kind
of like, why this is this is I didn't remember it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
This is weird, okay, And then I thought maybe when
Shannon Sossimon dies that was like, really that was also
really intense. That she's dying and he's like puts his
like bloody hand up to her mouth.
Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
That did get me. Actually, that one got me. Yeah,
that was weird.
Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
But it sends out too because right after you deal
with him like dealing with the fact that he just
killed somebody and you see him that he gets really turiated.
He can turn on tears in his eyes so well.
Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
And how great was it he's like looking at her
as he's as he's shooting. This is doing. Yeah. I
thought that was a great choice.
Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
I did like that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Yeah, So those are the two spots that I thought maybe,
But Tim.
Speaker 6 (01:01:55):
Do you think there's any I came bos was your
and you just said he had won, and then I
heard there might have been some maybe another one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
I don't know, there was one more, and I realized
I was right with two. You were it was. I
realized why I didn't say the Lord of the Rings
things at the beginning, and that's because I put it
as one of my boosts because it made me sad.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
But I was just being silly.
Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
It was really just the one.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
It was just the one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
Okay, all right, cool, let's do some movie Terribia here
as a show of support for Robert Downey Junior's recovery
from alcohol and drugs, Valkimer refused to drink during the
entire production. So that's cool, I think. Was he like
newly sober at this point?
Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
I think so, yeah, yeah, because that's.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
How we've made his comeback, right. Was he proved he
could he could hang?
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
Yeah? Interestingly, his first movie after he got sober, Yeah,
after getting sober, was one called The Singing Detective. And
I don't know if oh yeah produced it or directed it,
but mel Gibson had to pay his insurance out of
pocket because those studio would even give him a job
because he was considered unensurable.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
See Val Kilmer met Robert Downey Junior for the first
time at a Hollywood party. A week later, he received
the screenplay for this film and agreed to do it
before he even finished reading it, and upon agreeing, much
to his delight, he was informed that Downey had already
been cast. I thought that was fun fun. The film
was originally titled l A P I than Bang exclamation Point,
(01:03:41):
but Valkilmer suggested to the director Shane Black that kiss
Kiss Bang Bang would have more appeal. And I don't
remember if I wrote it down or not, but kiss
kiss bang bang is what they call, like, uh, James
Bond films in other countries and things, which is.
Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
Pretty fun well, and also the affectionate priority of film noirs.
Tropes is named for film critic Pauline Klee's influential nineteen
sixty eight collection of film reviews and essays.
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
I've just, oh, really.
Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
Noted in the plot summary.
Speaker 1 (01:04:15):
Oh yes, that's right, that's right. I'm glad I didn't
write down. I knew you would get to it just earlier,
and then i'd forget third Wall. Robert Downey Junior considered
his role as Harry Lockhart to be his calling card
to playing Tony Stark and iron Man. As we previously
said while preparing to make Iron Man, Downey Junior's performance
inspired director John Favreau to cast him in this role
(01:04:38):
so directly he was like, yeah, that's kind of what
we're looking for. It worked out pretty well. Vlkilmer had
to quickly lose fifty pounds gained for his plump role
in the movie called Alexander, which I never saw in
order to play his fit GQ character for this film.
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
That was the Colin Farrell as Alexander the Great.
Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
I saw that. I don't think it's not It wasn't
good two thousand and four. I didn't watch it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
Yeah, I didn't watch all of it. It wasn't good.
Speaker 1 (01:05:08):
That's a bummer.
Speaker 3 (01:05:10):
Yeah. And in that too, a ton of people were
in it. Really yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
I mean it's that out sand of the Great. It's
like a crazy figure in history, so that makes sense.
But it's a bummer. That didn't work. Val Kilmer walked
around in a five hundred dollars pair of Louis Vuitton
driving shoes and wore nail varnish while experimenting with several
variations of speech patterns for the role. Kilmer was also
not Or has also noted that this was done much
(01:05:36):
to his son Jack Kilmer's chagrin, which I think is funny.
So he's really taking it out for a role. He's
finding the character, as it were, as a thank you
for putting him back into the A list with this film.
Robert Downey Jr. Pushed for Shane Black to be involved
in the Marvel franchise, and he ultimately wrote and directed
Iron Man three.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
Iron Man three, which we've all.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Agreed to never talk about again.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
See, there was some great dialogue in that movie. Though.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
It's true, actually, and that movie has aged better with time.
Speaker 4 (01:06:07):
I just heard someone say my favorite though, Iron Tree
was considered like the best of the bunch, and I
thought that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
Was that's crazy, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:06:17):
Oh no, it was not. It shouldn't should not be,
all right, I'm glad we agree.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Also set during Christmas.
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Agreed it is during Christmas. That is true.
Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
That that part's nice when he's in the suburbs with
the boy.
Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
Right, that kid shows up later, which is fun. Yep,
that is fun. I do like that, but the rest
of it. Joel Silver noted that the film was originally
budgeted at ten million dollars because Warner Bros. Warner Brothers
was not confident in the premise. The film ran over
and the final budget was fifteen million dollars, but they
(01:06:51):
loved the film when it was screened and immediately opened
it at the two thousand and five Cans Film Festival,
you know, high profile capacity. So they nailed it. And
I think it's done well, right, it did well in
the box office and everything. I think, I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
I actually don't think it did great box office was released, Okay,
but yeah, yeah, you couldn't make that for fifteen million. Now,
you couldn't even get Robert Donney Jr.
Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
For that budget fifteen million gross four million.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
That wow. I would have guessed more than that gross.
Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
Worldwide seven though, So they got there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
That's shocking. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
Interesting, Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:07:36):
I don't remember when it came out though, I saw
this two and five.
Speaker 1 (01:07:40):
Yeah, led it killed it, let's see, Shane.
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
I didn't see it in the theater either, either.
Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
I didn't know what it meant.
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Final Shane Black read several stories by Raymond Chandler when
writing this script. As a result, the story is divided
into chapters, and the chapter titles come from Chandler's other works,
so Trouble is My Business, Lady in the like the
Little Sister. Those are all other pieces of his which
I thought was fun.
Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
That is fun.
Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
The depiction of gay Perry is generally considered to be
the first openly gay character to front a Hollywood action movie.
Which is cool.
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
That seems crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:08:19):
Yeah, that is really surprising.
Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
That seems like, but I don't know, and a fun character.
I really liked him a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:08:26):
Did we ever like think of like gay Perry, Like,
isn't that a saying anybody? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:08:32):
It is?
Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
Yeah, and I did that, I.
Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
Guess, yeah, yeah, not that was fun.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Yeah, that is fun though.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
Yeah, I thought it was weird that they had to
call him gay, like he could just be Perry.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
Well, dude, he just what was the line?
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
He was, Yeah, he's knee deep and.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
There is That's what I say. Yeah, but he just
he just liked the nickname so much. What does he
I don't remember the line, um pepis Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Sure, something like that only worst.
Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
The opening party, taking place at Harlan Dexter's mansion, was
shot at Shane Black's actual home. In the years between
Black's last produced feature, The Long Kiss Good Night and
this one. Black had become infamous for throwing similar large,
extravagant parties at that mansion filmed with the same are
filled with the same kind of industry big wigs and
(01:09:30):
up and comers, so art imitates life. I guess Shane
Black had been suffering from writer's block. It ultimately took
him over a year and a half to write the
script for this film. He then had enormous trouble trying
to sell it. His former cachet as being the highest
paid screenwriter meant nothing when he was shopping his screenplay around. Eventually,
(01:09:50):
he took it to producer Joel Silver, who gave him
his first break back in nineteen eighty seven for Lethal Weapon,
and they made it together. So that was pretty well.
This is this is something. Valkimer mentions he was thinking
of Kevin Bacon in the moment when he and Robert
Downey Jr. Have to kiss to divert attention from the police,
(01:10:12):
and then he's quoted as saying, so I could really
get into it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
It's pretty great. It's probably just him being hilarious and
he's just a silly guy.
Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
I really like him, so that's so fun. Let's see
one scene in the film takes place in that club
exhibiting living art. You know that we saw Robert Downey
Junr once worked there, so that's pretty crazy as a
living art piece. So that's wild. Let's see. Oh the
(01:10:43):
lookalike game. Oh, we should have said that. That was
a fun scene. I really like that scene. But the
lookalike game that Harry and Harmony play at the bar
was written in the screenplay with placeholders written in, and
the original placeholders were bald, Kevin Costner and black Patrick
Swayze as examples. But when it came time to shoot
(01:11:04):
the scene, he lined up all the extras and found
the actors he wanted to use, which seems.
Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
Intense Native American Joe Pesci. What was the other one?
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
I don't remember.
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
That was the one that really stuck with.
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
That one cracked me up.
Speaker 3 (01:11:19):
Oh Cigal, wasn't it somebody.
Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
Like A I don't I haven't seen it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
Was it Steven Sigal? Yeah? I don't remember. Anyway, I
just thought that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
Was funny and also unnerving to just stand in a
lineup and be like, how can we make fun of
you a little bit?
Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
This is great? The movie shares its title, Oh the
The title song from the soundtrack of James Bond movie
Thunderball was mister Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, and it was
recorded by Shirley Bassi and Dian Warwick, but they ended
up using I think like an instrumental version. So interesting,
(01:11:59):
but I do like that title a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:12:02):
And then toward the end, Harry attributes Perry's d be
as survival to when the studio gets paranoid about a
downer ending. The same rationale caused a change to the
endings of Shane Black's prior screenplays for Leath a Weapon
Too and the Long Kiss good Night. So I thought
that was kind of a fun little homage happening there.
Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
Homage.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Yeah, that was all that I had, Rob, Did you
have any other.
Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
A couple of Yeah. Warner Brothers was willing to produce
the movie with a larger budget of Harrison Ford was
to play the detective when he passed on it. Several
other options were briefly considered before Val Kilmer was offered
the role.
Speaker 4 (01:12:39):
Interesting actually been really good in there.
Speaker 1 (01:12:42):
Yeah, that'd be fun.
Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
That's been fun. He went and did a Hollywood homicide
and made a really bad movie.
Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Another Josh Hartnett.
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Yeah, keep coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
I never heard of that one.
Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
Oh it was not good Buddy cop.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
But they didn't they like did like each other. It
was very like it was kind of scandalous, not scandalous,
but it was like everybody was talking about it. They
didn't like each other. Yeah, and they just had no
chemistry at all. The other thing I saw was Johnny
Knoxville was set to star as Harry Lockhart before being
(01:13:20):
replaced by Robert Downey Junior. And that not as good
of a movie. No, Yeah, it almost makes me wonder
if it was like he was the placeholder like Robert,
like the whole bet where Colin Farrell was asking for
too much, Like maybe Johnny Knoxville.
Speaker 1 (01:13:38):
We bring him out and then you'd ask for last
and it'd be fine, right.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
But that was all I had. You have any other.
Speaker 4 (01:13:48):
No, No, there's not a lot. I think, you know,
the kinda coming together of Shane Black and his debut
and Michelle Monahan and RDJ F of his his Tough
Time I thought was the most interesting bit, but nothing
else cool.
Speaker 3 (01:14:06):
Well then Judgment. Will there be a sequel?
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
If there is, we won't have Gaye Perry And yeah,
that's one of the best parts of the movie.
Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
Although that could be an opening to make a sequel,
like he gets murdered or something.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Maybe maybe have they made.
Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
It's downy and well? I guess iron Man three? We said,
but have they made a different movie together? Since?
Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
I guess he's been pretty busy.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
So he's been doing lots of things interesting. But also
just you know the fact that Tony Stark is so
like this character. I feel like people be like, what
are we doing?
Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
I don't think you could do it after Iron manly.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Right, Yeah, I think that that train has sailed.
Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
Do you guys want to do a starting five?
Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
I'd love but I'm pretty dumb tonight, so this could
be rough.
Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
Oh timmy, all right, Starting five, I'm going to name
my five favorite actors from a particular film. When you
know the film, you're going to ring in with your name.
If you get it wrong, there's no negative points, but
you won't be able to guess again for that movie.
If there are other actors' names remaining, you can guess
those for a point each the other person can steal
(01:15:23):
if you get any of those names wrong, And all
of these films have something in common. When you know
the theme. You can ring in at any time for
a point.
Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
Sweet number one, Scared Scared.
Speaker 3 (01:15:37):
The first name Juliette Lewis. The second name Michelle Monaghan.
Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
Bukes, Bukes, Uh, it's Troop Beverly Hills. It's not no
damn you're thinking of. You're thinking of Jenny Lewis, Right,
I was stupid. Michelle mona Han's in it. I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Is she really?
Speaker 1 (01:16:05):
Maybe she's crazy? I know Gina's in it, and a
bunch of those folks crazy. I was definitely thinking had
a name yet.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
Not yet, not yet, not yet, So it's Juliette Lewis,
not Jenny Lewis, and then Michelle Monaghan. So, Timmy, I

Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
Yeah, I don't know, but I would not. I mean
the fact that it was just like kind of blatantly
trying to be a plane sins anutomobiles. But yeah, Robert
Tony Jr.
Speaker 1 (01:17:04):
Is so mean to him.
Speaker 4 (01:17:08):
These two year olds, like where r DJ plays Belacomber
and then Zack Oh plays a lesser range.
Speaker 3 (01:17:15):
Yeah, d j ye, But yeah, I was, I was
with you. I thought it was more mean than fun
for whatever reason.
Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
So is Juliet Lewis the one That's what you said, right,
he was in like old school.
Speaker 4 (01:17:28):
Yeah, that's the first one I thought of you, which
is like the most prominent.

Speaker 3 (01:29:29):

Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
You can, but I don't think it's decided yet.
Speaker 1 (01:29:36):
It's not going to number ten.
Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
It's what's the score going to have nine?
Speaker 1 (01:29:40):

is not he.
Speaker 3 (01:29:49):

Now I feel bad in the name of the movie first,
don't you.
Speaker 1 (01:30:51):
I don't think you have to. No, but I assume
you were gonna say Sally Field.
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
I was gonna say, well, just.
Speaker 1 (01:31:00):

Speaker 4 (01:31:36):

was what I'm trying to think of. I just can't
think it's his head.
Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
Oh oh no, I know what you're thinking of. I
love that movie, and that's that's called Heart and has

Speaker 3 (01:32:02):
Got you?
Speaker 4 (01:32:03):
I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
A movie though, that movie is I.
Speaker 4 (01:32:07):
Just google it now that googleing is back on the table.
You live on yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
The movie that you guys missed was Soap Dish. Soap Dish, yeah,
but really stacked. I did have a bonus, but we
don't need it because to me, just barely one good
Heart and Souls is great again.
Speaker 2 (01:32:27):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:32:28):
I really want to see it.
Speaker 4 (01:32:29):
I just have.
Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
And what's crazy is that Elizabeth Shoe was in that
one too.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
Oh fun.
Speaker 4 (01:32:34):
Well, yeah, Elizabeth Shoe. Other people.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Heart and Souls or Soap Dish, Soap Dishes further back? Yeah,
I think that's probably like nineteen ninety. Yeah, I thought.
Speaker 4 (01:32:47):
Maybe it's Elizabeth Curious.
Speaker 3 (01:32:51):

Speaker 4 (01:32:53):
