Speaker 1 (00:04):
Is the Dallascowboys dot Com Draft Show, your war room
for insider news and draft analysis from deep within the
confines of Cowboys Headquarters at the Star Infrasco.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Now your hosts Votch Lombardi, Nick Harris, Bobby Belt, Tommy Yarish,
and Kyle Yeomans.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Today is April second, It's a Thursday, and we're twenty
one days away from the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Welcome in to the Draft Show presented by Miller Lte,
the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys. It's Miller time,
and it is nearly draft time, which means it's actually
mock draft time, and we are going to go through
our first round live mock. Here on the Draft Show
(00:53):
today alongside Vatch Lombardi with Nick Harris, Bobby Belt, Chris
Beam is in the back, and Tommy Yards is here.
I promise he will be here very shortly in the studio.
He's got some other interviews and things to take care
of beforehand, because.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
He's doing he's doing some real journalism.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Actual journalism, real journalism, real journalism, all the time, big journalism.
That's what he's doing currently. Uh, And he will be
back in the building, uh or in the studio rather
very very shortly, gentlemen. Good to have you back, Bobby,
Nick missed you guys.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
Yeah, it's good to be here. Happy to do it,
happy to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Thank goodness. Nick. How was pro day's and uh the
owner's meetings?
Speaker 6 (01:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:33):
I think Tommy reviewed the barbecue for you guys, right
or did he not?
Speaker 6 (01:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
It was not on not on the show.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
It was. Yeah, it wasn't great. It wasn't great.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
Where was it at?
Speaker 4 (01:42):
I don't want to know what part of the country love, Yeah,
And I figured love it would have been strong, basically
New Mexico. Yeah, but I figured love it would have
been strong. I've had some great and barbecue and Midland
Odessa up in the Panhandle. But anyway it.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
Picks online, I wouldn't. I wouldn't through a boy what
I saw.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah, Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't great. If word of
advice be size if I'm ever doing a like barbecue
tweet and it's like, man, the dessert was phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah, that's the that's the tell.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Yeah, and the peanut butter pie was phenomenal, don't get
me wrong. But anyway, Texas tech program was awesome, a
text tech party was awesome. Talk to him, and then
Bobby talked to him at owners meetings in Phoenix this week.
It was kind of a snooze overall, but yeah, I'm
glad to be back in this chair. I'm ready to
(02:32):
get ready for the draft.
Speaker 7 (02:33):
Man.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
We're three weeks away.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
It's crazy, crazy how quickly it has found its way here,
and we're, of course twenty one days out. We usually
do this a month out, but because everybody was on
pro day trips and out of the studio for a
little bit, we wanted to wait till everybody was back,
and even today Tommy's still in and out. But if
we don't do it today, not going to be able
to do it next week either. So we are going
to go through all thirty two picks in the first round.
(02:56):
We have an order and this was randomized last night,
and it'll go in order, and then we'll skip Tommy
until we get Tommy back, and then as we continue on,
well we'll kind of go through the picks as needed.
But it's going to be Votch first, followed by Bobby, myself, Nick,
and Tommy. So that is the group.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Man ask questions about this layout here? Sure, okay, are
we able to trade?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
You know what? You sent that in a group message
and I forgot to respond. If you have a trade opportunity, sure,
let's have some fun.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Am I picking this as if I'm the GM or
what I think these teams are doing? That's important what
you think the teams are? Okay, Okay, all right, because
I think in some of these instances, I think definitely
one of my teams wants to trade.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
So okay, So I want to say yes, okay, based
on what you believe the if you're the Browns, which
you are the Browns. If you are the Browns, do
you feel like they would trade pick number six? Do
you feel like they would take a player in that
certain scenario we're trying to predict. The first round is
ultimately what this first round mock draft is going to
(04:02):
be able to see exactly how it lines up. If
you want to throw a little bit of personal flair
in there too, Vatch, I know you always like to
do that. If you like to throw a little bit
of that in, you can, but just keep it in
mind that that's generally the foundation.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Kyle, let me say this, you hate mock drafts. Yes,
but I wasn't gonna say that because.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
I don't want to keep saying the same We suck
at mock draft.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
This is a thirty two team shows you know, is
more than just cowboy fans watching this. Let me just say,
first off, we don't care about y'all roster.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Bro.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
We you know, we y'all gonna go into comments like
vich we got this up and coming lineback you never
heard of. It's gonna play a bunch of snaps of
you wrong. No, we we don't care, bro. We just
doing the exercise. We just putting players on teams for
the sake of doing it. I got, you know, convinced
to do this. I was gonna I was gonna call
in sick today because I hate not that much. But
don't don't get into comments. Oh it's such a stupid mock.
(04:50):
They'll never so I don't care. Also too, as a
mock ever been right? Also too, That's that's absolutely correct.
Also too, I want to make stupid picks on purpose,
because I think that's realistic. Okay, teams suck at drafted.
If we if we, if we did a mock draft
this time last year, said oh, Colston Lovelan's gonna get
drafted five picks ahead of Tyler Warren. You'll say, Vice,
(05:11):
that's a stupid, stupid, piss stupid draft, right, Colson, It'll
never happen. So stuff happens all the time. I'm gonna
throw some weird stuff in his draft. It's supposed to
be fun. Don't go, y'all, goof az in the com
it's talking about, Oh, Vice, this will never happen.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
But to be fair, al so, teams use. These teams
will go through these exercises too because they want to know,
all right, who's gonna potentially fault it. So it's also
in the name of trying to figure out who the
cowboys might get.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
Sure, there you go.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
We've said it before on the show. I look at
this as a war room. That's what Brian brought us,
and ed Ca Hill and David Hellman and Dan Brugler
always did on the show as well. They looked at
it as a war room. And we are a part
of our own scouting department on the media side, trying
to inform those that are in the building or that
are outside of the building. When you are in the
building and you are in the war room. They do
go through these mock draft exercises consistently, so this is
(05:52):
just our version of that. And the one thing I
will ask if you watch. I'm cool with stupid picks.
I'm cool with kind of throwing some some things out there.
Do not straight away from from Mendoza at one.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Just because.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
I was giving you the automatic one first, so you
don't even that's.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Not what I did on purpose, but that way.
Speaker 6 (06:15):
Didn't didn't cousin, just get some I do have a
take on Drew out because I watching quarterbacks now, Yeah,
Drew ally better than Ty Simpson and thus my better
than Ty Simpson. I don't know where this tie Simpson
first round stuff comes. I got tied in the third
I like.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
I like that, and where we're gonna convene on fire
and that's the I'm very high.
Speaker 6 (06:34):
On and big better than Ty Simpson in my personal opinion.
But whatever. All right, but yeah, but we're gonna be
totally reasonable. I'm not even gonna waste all time. Do
we have a draft sound Dinger Beamanda Mendoza is a raider,
So in the in the best interest of time, let's
get the mock going so we can get into it.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
The track of the picture too, And I'll let y'all
know if there's any like trays that pop up on
this simulator, it.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Is let's go beam, all right? So that puts Bobby
up next after Mendoza. Is the pick at one to
the Raiders?
Speaker 5 (07:05):
Yeah? And is I mean does everybody? Does everybody feel
like the draft starts at three or starts at two?
Like two, because I think that there's a strong likelihood
at two, but there's still some directions that I guess
variables that could swing it throughther way. But I think
consistently everything you're starting to hear and turning around is
that people think the Jets are gonna end up taking
(07:26):
rvl Ree. Yeah, and so that's what I would project here,
is say Rvel Reese edge rusher slash linebacker from Ohio
State to the Jets. But I don't think it can
just be automatically shut down as though Yepese is the
pick nobody else, because they very well could look at
it and go maybe they like Bailey Moore or something
like that. But I think confidently right now, the best,
(07:47):
the most likely option is rvel Rees.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Okay, so you want to is that your pick yep. Okay,
So that's the pick rvel Reese to get things started
with the Jets at two. You you said you think
it belongs to to the draft starts at too. Yeah,
where would you go, Let's just say you're in a
similar conversation. Where would you go outside of that as
a Caleb Downs or where's your outside of r vel Resa?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Yeah, outside of that. I think David Bailey's in the
mix there. I think Reuben Bain would be in the
mix there.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
So just basically pick your ice cream flavor of edg rusher.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Pretty much, Yeah, pretty much. I don't think they they
need a receiver, but I don't think they swing for
one there. I think that's probably gonna be the sixteen
sweet spot for them. Yeah, we'll circle back on that
and then they probably take their receiver there. But yeah,
I think it's edge rusher defender.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Yeah, So RVL rees pick number two to the Jets.
Moving on to three and the Cardinals. Arizona needs offensive
line help, they need a lot of other help. And
I'm on the clock with the Cardinals. I'm gonna take
Francis MALANOA. Seems like there's a lot of smoke where
there's fire there. Talk to a couple of our friends
over at the Cardinals during the NFL combine. They said
(08:54):
Malino is the most likely selection. Asked them again last night,
just sent a text and said, Hey, is it still
kind of the same thought process. They said yes, They
said malanoa seems to kind of be the guy that
they're honing in on. They could go a number of
different directions, and this is where things could get wild
if they don't go with an offensive tackle to start,
and they go somewhere else, maybe with the downs or
with wherever they want to go with best player available.
(09:17):
But I think your offensive lind.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
Needs some Hell, if I was making this pick, I
would have picked Malino as well. That's where I assume
they're going. If he doesn't go there in the real draft,
I don't have just an obvious like next spot for
malno like just because it may be one of these
guys who he just starts falling through the cracks a
little bit because of what teams need. But uh, after three,
if he doesn't go there, then he could go god
(09:41):
knows where between like four and thirteen. I don't know.
It's hard to nail down.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
You said that at twelve.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
Good from the grounds trading fag.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
All right. Moving on to pick number four, the Tennessee
Titans are on the clock with Nick Harris.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Yeah, this one, this one, I think you know, we've
we've seen jerrem I Love get pinned to the Titans
and so many fascinating mock drafts. I think it is
a smoke screen. I think they're gonna go after one
of these edge rushers, So I'm gonna take David Bailey.
Speaker 7 (10:09):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Why do you think it's a smoke screen?
Speaker 6 (10:11):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Because you know, why would they show their hand this early?
And why would you take Jeremiah Love for when you
need so many other things as well?
Speaker 3 (10:20):
And why Bailey over Baine and some of these others?
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Just the more of the prototype guy, I guess it's
more of the safe pick quote unquote from a Titan standpoint,
I think it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
So you think there's any shot styles would be in play?
There could very well could, just because I think like
Sola consistently is that he wants top tier linebackers in
this defense.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Yeah, absolutely definitely couldn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
When you look at their needs across the board for Tennessee,
you look at offensive line, edge wide receiver. No chance
they take one of those wide receivers at four. Probably
not running back. They could use one. Linebacker, they could
use one, but those are kind of their secondary needs.
So getting a top tier edge rusher there is a
(11:03):
very smart pick back to vatch now at number five
with the New York Giants.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
Yeah, man, Bobby just said the name. I look at
the Giants and think about what they're doing. They got
the you know, they got some rushers up there. They
probably comfy there. You know, they got big Man's in
the middle of they comfy there. I know they just
signed Edmonds in the offseason. Come do some linebacker stuff.
I don't think the rest of their linebacker room is
stopping them from drafting Sonny. So I'm taking Sunny Styles
at five for the Giants.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
I would hate seeing him twice a year from here
on out.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
For the next fifteen years.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
I would hate them.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
You hate seeing him more than Downs?
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Ooh? I probably not, no, because I have Downs as
a better player, and I.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
And then watch Downs is going to slide the dance
one at seven.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Yeah, and then that's what ultimately happens. So Sonny Styles
is the pick at five. So we're through five picks.
Fernando Mendoza goes one to the Raiders, Rvel Reeves goes
two to the Jets, Francis Malanoa goes three to the Cardinals,
David Bailey goes four to the Titans, and then Sonny
Styles goes number five to the Giants. Bobby, you're on
the clock with the Browns at six, YEP.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
And I'm sitting here and I'm waiting for someone to
call me. I'm waiting on a phone call because the
brown universally that has been the the chatter coming out
of Cleveland is that the Browns went out at six
that I think that they like some guys that they
think they can trade back and get, and they really
want to start stacking capital a little bit while they've
(12:26):
been in some of the financial situations that they've been.
So I think they're definitely looking for, right, how can
we get more cheap talent on board here, especially if
we think some of these guys we like, we can
move back a little bit on And so I don't
know what are my options immediately on that. How do
you want to play this?
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Uh, you can offer a trade. I know that's not
normally how it works. Usually somebody calls sure to come up,
but if you have any ideas, do you have any off?
Speaker 4 (12:51):
So yeah, I mean, like instantly he's interested on this simulator.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Who are those twos through?
Speaker 4 (12:58):
You have the Dallas Cowboys at pick number twelve and
you have the Carolina Panthers at pick number nineteen.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
I do honestly think that if Cleveland was shopping pick six,
I do think Dallas would check in on it. So, like,
I mean, that is realistic. I think they absolutely could
look in on that.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
I see.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
It's tough because I don't think I don't think the
if you just look immediately after that, I don't think
the Saints will go up. I don't think the Chiefs
would go up. Don't think the Bengals would. Dolphins don't
seem to be wanting to like aggressively acquire like big
time capital and sacrific stuff. They look like they're in
a stack in mot So it gets down to Cowboys.
Cowboys are probably the easiest first team behind them.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
The thing is they don't really have draft capital this
year that would make sense. On the chart for Dubta,
it's a four hundred point discrepancy to move up from
twelve to six, and the only picks that they have
that are worth more than one point fifty are the
two first round picks.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
So what's the point difference if you go twelve and
twenty for six and thirty.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Nine, Six and thirty nine is a grand total of
twenty one ten and twelve and twenty is a grand
total of twenty fifty. So it would be a sixty
point benefit toward the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah, underpay, which a lot of times you're gonna have
to over.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Which maybe you throw in a fourth round pick to
get it done.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
But also if you're Dallas and you're looking at going
like we're on the phone with you, because the teams
directly in front of us aren't wanting to go up,
so you can gladly slide back another ten spots and
want to risk losing somebody.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
If Dallas is doing that, are they doing it for
Caleb Downs? What are they trying to move up and
make a pick for?
Speaker 5 (14:39):
So, given the Nick ruined everything with the Titans, I
like Caleb Downs. I think Caleb Downs is a really
really good player. Given where their needs are and what
they're trying to do over the next three years. I
don't know that now I'd be willing to make the
move to go up and get Downs. I might if
Downs gets a little lower. If Bailey had not gone
for to Tennessee, if Bailey was six, I'm going like,
(15:00):
and I'm not thinking I'm moving up and I'm taking
Bailey to me, that's that's a superstar.
Speaker 6 (15:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
If I'm the Cowboys here, I'm not moving up to six.
I'm I'm looking at pick number nine maybe.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
So just I guess, throw me the Carolina deal. What's
Carolina got? And then if I don't like it, I'll
just pick.
Speaker 7 (15:15):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (15:16):
I had to pick though, like you know, yeah, because
this is.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Because I know this is this is the scenario there.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
You know you're gonna love it. You're gonna love the pick.
You're gonna be thrilled with the pick because you you
would hate the pick if it was your team. And
so I'm guessing they don't want to move back all
the way to Carolina, and so I'm just gonna have
to pick if Dallas isn't gonna play, and so it's
Monroe Freeling offensive tackle Georgia.
Speaker 6 (15:41):
So what would Bobby do if Bobby was the GM there?
Speaker 5 (15:46):
I mean if I was in love with Monroe Freeling.
I could probably get him atwelve. I don't know that
I could get him at nineteen to the Panthers.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
What I'm saying is, if Bobby's the GM and the
phone don't ring, what player would you would you take
right there?
Speaker 5 (15:59):
For Cleveland's specifically, I need some weapons, So I don't know.
I might look at one of the receivers there if
I if I had to stand in him pick, so
I might. I might go taate, But I think the
Browns would go freeling if they got stuck.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
If you're Carolina, you're jumping up thirteen spots, you'd have
to offer this year's too, and either next year's one
or next year's two.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
Yeah, I don't think do next year's one. And I
don't know that Carolina is going up to do that.
Although they were aggressive. They made a couple of really
aggressive moves in the off season. Stick. Yeah, I'm gonna
stick and pick and just say Cleveland's not able to
bail out and they end up taking the Monroe Freeling.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Try and revamp that offensive line a little bit.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Not a quarterback, draft, not a receiver, No can it
as Bobby's so I think that like what they would
look at it, they would say that this is a
pretty decent receiver draft. That theyd feel better about receiver
they could get at thirty nine than the tackle they
could get at thirty nine.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
Bobby, would you assume that the Cowboys feel like if
this situation happened, if Bailey is gone, that they wouldn't
trade up because they would feel like they got a
good shot of Bay and Down's get into them at twelve.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
I think that they feel like they they wouldn't have
to take as much of a bath with the twenty
to thirty nine if they just wait a couple more
picks and entertain somebody else.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Like Nick, you threw out nine as a possibility there
if they wanted to maybe trade up with the Chiefs
and see what happens there.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
There is which I guess we can touch on the
when we get to the Chiefs. But there was a
scenario like proposed on NFL dot Com premary got home
for a Chiefs Cowboy swap.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Let's let's get to pick nine real quick, just because
it would be interesting.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
Yeah, go in there.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
I've got the Commanders at seven with David Bailey off
the board, plus, I mean, they need edge rusher help,
but they've added some ed rushers in free agency, Oldafe Oway,
Caleb and Chase On. They're not going to draft Keldric
Fall they do. I mean, I'm sure they'll probably take
a look at Reuben Bain in that possibility. But since
they've already added those, they need a second wide receiver
(17:57):
that could become a one down the line. I think
they're gonna take Carnell Tate.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
They're gonna take offense, and you don't see them taking
Jeremiah Love.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
You know, the athletic went through this exercise. They did
a mock I don't they did. They did a beat
Rider mock draft, and Jeremiah Love got all the way
to fourteen.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah, then we'll see what happened. He could probably be
in the conversation, but I'm gonna say wide receiver. It
was gonna say Carnell Tait Ohio State to the commanders seven.
Speaker 6 (18:24):
Okay, okay, I thought I heard you say he was
about to jump around, so my fuck, my fuck.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
Nick. I will say Baine does feel like a Quinn
player though too.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
He does, he does, But I'm going to try and
mix it up a little bit Where where do you
go with the Saints at eight there?
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Nick Harris, Yeah, I think this is one that's not
necessarily a need, but you see a guy slipping like
this and you just got to take him. If you're
the Saints, You've already kind of mentioned the idea of
shopping Camaro around, and you can really start to explore
that in the off season and after you draft Jeremiah Love.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
See he does want to run the damn ball bang bang.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
That's a callback for a lot of Cowboys fans back.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
In the city at nine Casey, So that that that's
you're just like that, that's just a symptom of look,
he's just too good a player and we're not going
to pass him up.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
So similar like a CD situation with the Cowboys, and
that's not.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
A trade value for Kamara and probably probably pick up
some not great draft capital, but some considerable draft capital
for next year.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Remember they signed Travis now a Chan. Yeah, not etn anymore.
Travis A Chan is what he wants to be called by,
But that's that's the room. Then it's Jeremiah Love Travis.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
A Chan And we have time for was that we
have time for like a linguistics, phonetics rant, uh sure,
it's like like that's like that's how you technically pronounce it.
He still pronounced it wrong, and it's because he's like,
this will be easier for everybody, but it's closer at
least than what people have actually been calling me. But
like the French pronunciation is like ech Chris.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
It's kind of like a hybrid of both of the pronunciations.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
Yeah, each Chris or Shard never told everybody that it
was actually Reshard. But I'm being dead serious. He he
just was like, ads, just that Richard is already gonna
trip some people up. You playing, No, I'm dead serious.
I'm I'm one hundred people no as fall. I'm one
hundred percent serious, one hundred percent serious.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Number nine, number nine, all right, Kansas City votch Are
you trading?
Speaker 6 (20:29):
Are y'all? Are y'all calling me? Listen?
Speaker 4 (20:32):
I thought I thought you didn't want to entertain you.
I thought you were picking up Downs? Is your phone.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
Downs is still there? At nine? Is that a possibility?
Speaker 5 (20:39):
Nick?
Speaker 3 (20:39):
We're consensus picking? You have cowboys, You.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Have seven teams on the phone with who's who's calling chops?
What the business you have the Cowboys at twelve. Oh
you have the Lions at seventeen, Vikings at eighteen, Panthers
at nineteen, Eagles at twenty three, Bears at twenty five,
Seahawks at thirty two.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
Oh man, Well that's a lash. What's the what's the
what's the cowboy capital on? This is with cow boys show?
What were we doing?
Speaker 8 (21:01):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (21:01):
The cowboy pick here would be giving up twelve and
twenty uh and picking. If you're the Cowboys, you're giving
up twelve and twenty, you're picking up nine, twenty nine
and one oh nine.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
It's not kind of like that a little bit though,
if you're if you're the nine twenty nine, one oh
nine is what you get for giving up twelve and twenty?
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Yes, so you still pick.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
On a trade value chart, that would be Dallas stealing.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Let's say, because twelve, twenty, twelve and twenty for twenty
nine and nine.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
I think they're like direct point.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
Are you sure? Because I think the Draftech has it
as like their ninety points.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
So like Dallas and the twelve and twenty adds up
to twenty fifty nine, twenty nine and one oh nine
would add up to Sorry, twenty twenty six.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
The Cowboys traded up and got more peaks.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
They got one more pick, yeah, one.
Speaker 6 (21:55):
They went from twenty to twenty nine.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Okay, but they still get to in the first round.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
It's only it's only about a twenty four point man.
Is that pff it's draft tech Draft tech.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
Okay, that's right. So fellas if it's Cowboys, who would
yall move up right there to get that extra cabital?
I mean, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
I don't even give a damn about who I'm moving
up for. It's just like I'm getting an extra pick. Sure,
because to me, the difference between nine and twelve might
be more significant than the difference between twenty.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Twenty and twenty nine. Absolutely, And not to mention, you
do have Ruben Bain still there, you have Caleb Downs
still there. I mean, those are two players that you've kind.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
Of banging downs and Delayne.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Right and delayne Yeah, I think about that eleven.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
So those those guys could go in to the next
three picks.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
They very well could. Yeah, and then none of them
are there for you at twelve. That's what is that.
That's half of your big six.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
That's half your big six.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
The question you would have to ask if you are
Kansas City, though, because you are Kansas City, Kansas City,
the only thing you are getting out of this, yeah,
as you're moving up from twenty nine to twenty three spots,
it is that that's all you're getting out of it.
It's like you don't even know what the board is
gonna look like in eleven picks.
Speaker 6 (22:59):
And if I'm Kansas City, I may want a receiver anyway, because.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I don't want to dart at the darboard at one
on one. Yeah, you're probably not gonna give up one
on one.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Well, that'll be a steal for the cowboys, though.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
I think it would. I don't think it's pot on.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
I don't think that. I think I think there could
be Kansas City entertaining twenty nine to twenty and then
maybe giving you a better collection of some day three picks.
But I would I don't know that they would be
willing to incorporate this twelve nine swap when they end
(23:32):
up having to spend more, So I don't I think
they'd be out on it and say, hey, we may
give you a call when you get closer to twenty.
Speaker 6 (23:38):
Yeah, yeah, I'll tell you what I'm gonna ahead and
pick this time. But man, if I'm the Cowboys, they
give it a shot. If I'm knsit, I wouldn't do it.
I think that's crazy if I'm Kansas City. But if
I'm the Cawboys, hey call them people do that. I'm
gonna just go ahead.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
And take You got some badass players on the.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Board for show though. You know what I'm saying. You
could go uh.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
Kansas City has been has shown a lot of interest
in Baye. Yeah you play.
Speaker 6 (24:03):
You could go bay here, you could go Delaane here.
You know they they kind of gave up all the
corners in Kansas City. Likes to use high capital on corners,
but they just don't retain them.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
Yeah, Downs is still there too.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Let's go Delaine. Then let's just go ahead and go
mun Delayne here for uh for the Kansay the Cheese Day.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
They could also go tackle there. I think that's something
to keep an eye keep an eye on offense.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Spencer Fanno Fano is still there.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Look, I would keep a eye on Spencer fannel one
draft night.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
So Delayanne off the board. That's a that's a miss
for Dallas. Two picks away. Bobby, You're at ten with
the Bengals.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
Okay, so reset for me? Who else gone?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Uh so? Mendoza, Reese, MALANOA Bailey, then Styles Freeling, Tate
Love Delane.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Uh, Tate love Delaane. Okay, yeah, this is I'm gonna
have to be the bad guy here because I don't
think they think too hard about the Cincinnati Bengals take
Caleb downs in the safety Ohio state.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, that's that's fair. And then the Dolphins at eleven,
they have to go Bay in here. I think that
and and this is the nightmare scenario.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
I don't They're wide receiver one right now is Jalen.
Speaker 6 (25:10):
Tolver Nick trying to get Bane to the You're doing
your best to get them.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
I'm calling Miami and I'm saying, your wide receiver one
is Jalen Toliver.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
We know what Nick got problem? They whole team white
like they need everything.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
Who's picking? Who's their GM?
Speaker 4 (25:25):
Me?
Speaker 5 (25:26):
No, no, but who's there?
Speaker 3 (25:28):
Like now?
Speaker 5 (25:29):
Yeah, no, No, in Miami, who's their GM. It's John
Eric Sullivan, Jeff Hafley. It's green Bay mentality and defense.
Green Bay. Other than Matthew Golden, they don't draft receivers
in the first round.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
That's a good point.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
This puts Dallas in such a hole as fascinating. I
want to talk about it so bad. Please take bank.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
I think I'm gonna take Bane because this is gonna
generate so much coc it's gonna make it really toll twelve.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
On the other side, I don't want to trade back
once we get there. That this is tough. This all
I like this.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Ruben Bain goes to the Miami Dolphins Miami Hurricanes at
pick number eleven to break to talk about it. We
do get the break to talk about it. The Cowboys
are on the clock at twelve. Tommy Yarish is also
in the room. We'll step aside more of the draft
show in our live first round box draft right after.

Speaker 7 (28:56):
Hey, guys, how's it going?
Speaker 3 (28:57):
How's it going? Chris Beam is in the back of
Kyle y Oomens took Chipper. It was Chipper. He had
a good morning. You got to talk to some people.
Speaker 7 (29:04):
Can't be happy anymore.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
He's been doing real journalism, that's all.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
That's exactly it.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
He's been doing real journalism.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
All right. Cowboys are on the clock at twelve. We
spent a little bit of the break talking about it.
But man, you are wiped out. Here's resetting the board
for all those that are following along at home. Mendoza
off the board to one with the Raiders number two.
The Jets take Rville Reese a number three. Francis Malanoa
goes to the Cardinals. Titans at four take David Bailey.
(29:31):
Giants at five, take Sonny Styles. Monroe Freeling goes to
the Browns at six. Thought about trading up there, didn't
do it. Commanders at seven, Carnell Tate wide receiver. Saints.
Jeremiah Love falls to them. They take him at eight,
Chiefs at nine, Mansour Delane ten. It's the Bengals. They
take Caleb Downs eleven. The Dolphins take Ruben Bain Junior.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
You have two teams on the phone with you here
at twelve, okay, and I mentioned one of them and
breaking the other one's going to be a surprise to
you guys. You guys will see the reaction live. The
Minnesota Vikings are on the phone at pick number eighteen.
If you slide back to eighteen, Minnesota is willing to
give up their two third round picks at number eighty
two overall and number ninety seven overall. They want to
(30:14):
come up. They want to get their guy, Dylan Theeneman.
They've been honing in on him throughout the draft. They
don't maybe think that he's going to slip to eighteen.
You also have the Chicago Bears on the phone at
pick number twenty five, so you would you would be
slipping even more. You would pick up a second round
pick at number sixty overall, and you would pick up
(30:35):
a third round pick at number eighty nine overall.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
Get the hell out of here, Dallas Hall, No, I
think it is. I'm hanging up the phone and I'm
never accepting a phone call from what sales area code?
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Again?
Speaker 7 (30:47):
The three one two Chicago?
Speaker 13 (30:49):
Yeah two, I've had eight four to seven.
Speaker 7 (30:55):
Yeah, that's there's multiple three one two.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
So it's it's Vikings are the two thirds? And you
said during the break, is there a second on the
table or is it just the two thirds?
Speaker 4 (31:07):
You could either do the second round at forty nine
or the two thirds at eighty two to ninety seven.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
I do like the idea of having forty nine. I mean,
I want the two thirds, but I think I might
be able to trade back from twenty and pick up
extra thirds too.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Nick, you're playing the GM of the Vikings at eighteen?
Why would you do that?
Speaker 4 (31:26):
I want Dylan theenemon, Okay, yeah?
Speaker 7 (31:29):
And why do you think he doesn't get there to eighteen?
Speaker 6 (31:31):
Thank you? Tommy?
Speaker 5 (31:32):
Where's your land mines?
Speaker 4 (31:33):
Your land mines exist with the Jets, they exist with
the Buccaneers, jesse mentor with the Ravens could very well
swing on him as well. You're not taking any chances.
You're going up and getting your guy.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
But Nick, you to GM, you you think thenem is
worth two threes? Like if you're if you're running at draft,
you getting rid of both your threes for Dylan thnum.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Do you think you can wait till fifteen and give
up less cow But pemy man's the question.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
He's trying to be cowboy guy, be Viking guy, don't smile,
be pagan ball.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
But well, remember who we're talking to Dylan Thenaman is
one of Knick's favorite prospects.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
Yes, if he gets scooped up, they could take Emmanuel
McNeill warrant at eighteen, they could, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
They could they take Yeah Clark by weekly. Sob was
a ton of safeties here.
Speaker 5 (32:21):
Why are you trying?
Speaker 4 (32:21):
What are we doing here? Were sticking picking?
Speaker 5 (32:23):
What's the third I'm making? I'm making the trade for
forty nine. If that would be my vote, I'd move
back to eighteen and take forty nine because I don't
love anybody at twelve anyway. I think people I would
pick at twelve are probably gonna be there at eighteen. Anyway.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Let's talk. Let's talk about what what you would pick
at twelve?
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Here?
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Thank you? What are you talking about here at twelve?
If you're the Cowboys, if.
Speaker 13 (32:41):
I'm the twelve, I got no problem picking thema Man.
I love damn enough to take him at twelve.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Even after you was the preface though, before we did
all this was this is what we think the Cowboys
will be doing, yes, or this is what we think
these teams will be doing. And I don't think the
Cowboys as of today would take enam.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
In at twelve. Boy, say what Jermal McCoy.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Absolutely not okay m hm h c.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
J Allen, No, not at twelve or probably get him
in really, Johann.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
If you get stuck, yeah, where are you playing him?
Love guard and you can bounce your guard out to
tackle oh Man Fano. You did it at the end
of the year.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Then we're talking.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
I'd rather have Wow. I just I again, these are
I'm I'm voting to trade back eight. I'm voting to
trade back. Then the board out for me something and
I'll figure it out that two thirds.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
What do you guys think about Jordan Tyson or Mikay Limon.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Good players, that's wide receiver.
Speaker 6 (33:37):
We just we just talking, We just talking. You got Fano,
you could go wide receiver or you could go deep
into your second round defender bag. Tommy and Nick got
one on thing of me. But they're not one of
you big six.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
As I was saying, I mean, if I'm gonna stay
there and pick that, then I'm on the phone about pickings.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
After that, I'll take Jordan Tyson and I won't eat.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
I love Jordan Tyson, but if I'm picking receiver at twelve,
then it's like, all right, Well, just for resource management.
I have to pick up extra capital because I can't
just devote this much to receiver.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Can I feel like I can? I just feel like
I can. I feel like I could take George. I
feel like I would rather have a dude that I
think can come in and do spectacular things for me
day one on my team. Then to go back to
eighteen to pick number eighteen and trade back and what
two threes? Come on, man, just just take the bear
to guy.
Speaker 5 (34:24):
But I'm officially voting forty nine. I want the I'll
move back to get eighteen forty nine.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Officially forty nine. Nick, what would you vote?
Speaker 4 (34:31):
I would take h, I would take uh, I take
forty nine.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
Okay, let me just say this. I'll fall back on
the idea that y'all cows and y'all trade pick somebody
you can vote to pick somebody. Let me say this,
but Kyle, just say Jordan Tyson wires here, Arizona State. Okay,
But if we're gonna sit here, we have to talk
about this. If we get wiped out in real life
and cowboys don't trade back, I think we have to
at least give a name you can ultimately trade back.
(34:59):
It's ultimately trade, but put your toes down. I don't
want to say drop you on his platform, but pick
a guy, stand, pick a guy. Don't take the Tennessee
corner your phone a ring cod hood Yep, it's twelve
for you.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
Yep, I mean not, I don't. I don't love anybody
I'm picking at twelve. But if I get stuck Hood
not me, I just gets I got. I'm thrown out
a name that I think they could go.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
A Keen Mesador.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
Mesados will probably my name too.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
I take Messdoi, so I like Mesador, that would be
that would be my name.
Speaker 5 (35:22):
I think he'll be thirty two years old by the
time he gets to Dallas.
Speaker 6 (35:26):
I was on the same contryt three years ago.
Speaker 13 (35:29):
I'd be more than happy with Thieneman at twelve. After that, guys,
I've gotten the vicinity. Tyson Arizona, State Hill Junior, Texas,
Sediq Oregon. So I mean, really, if it's just everything
is available to you at that point, then why hold
yourself back.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
Tyr Steel's dead money be like eight million dollars or something,
I think so.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
Yeah, I can't remember if that was career post June one, though.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Would it be something crazy to move on for him. No,
I would just take fing.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
Yeah, I'm saying forty nine, forty nine to my vote,
next thing and forty.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Guys trade back? Does imagine your phone ll hold on?
We got other I.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Mean we both voted Mesidora. I'm okay with trading back.
I just I'm skeptical on why the Vikings would do
forty nine. I think the two thirds is more likely.
I don't think they would, but I don't think they
would either, Like I know they want to go get
a guy, but I don't think forty nine is really
in play there on the trade charts and whatever it
may be. Why are you just completely giving up anything
in the first round and second round to go get
(36:27):
your guy.
Speaker 6 (36:28):
And just to be fair? In cowboy Land, A cowboy
fantom loving this? What are you looking at?
Speaker 4 (36:32):
Where we spent ten minutes on this? Pic Ca said,
we got nineteen more picks.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
Who's who's Who's Who's got Who's got the rams? Cowboys
ran out of the clock. We didn't make a decision,
we didn't get to pick first round that I'm voting
trade back with the Vikings. Whatever that looks like two
thirds or I think it would be.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
A good insight though, at the wipeout scenario, to see
how how difficult this is.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
This is going to be tough.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
It's a tough discussion.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
We're going to trade back, trade back. We're trading back
to forty nine.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
Take the receiving, go cowboys.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Cowboys, Now pick it eighteen and we'll talk about that
when we get there. But they'll pick it eighteen and twenty.
They pick up the second round pick and now you've
got that available twelfth bank. Okay, so there's the there's
the pick for the Vikings.
Speaker 6 (37:15):
Pumping and take it to the thing with oil for
the Vikers. Whatever.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Man, uh, Nick, you're also on the clock with the Rams.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
McKayle lemon.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
So McKay lemon there. Nick's trying to get out of here.
The uh uh, Tommy, you were on the.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
Board with the right for Kyle. Not the Rams got
Davonte Smith and poog A. I hope everything's cool with
pooking all that, But when you assumed that they got
two great wires, he was just like the cowboys. They
call the GM of the Rams. They got two good receivers,
take take, take limit, but the Cowboys won't.
Speaker 7 (37:44):
Well why not is it, Davante Smith places for the Eagles.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
You do, yeah, when it happened?
Speaker 5 (37:48):
No, I mean Adam Adam, thank you man Adams.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
You know I'm talking about. You got two good receivers
at the Rams. Why would they take women? But the
Cowboys won't one pick ahead of him?
Speaker 5 (37:55):
Davant Adams to ask their GM, Davante Adams, I wouldn't
think is a solution there for the next four years
the way you're potentially thinking of Pickens, and there's no
telling what's going on with Pookin. I mean the Rams
were involved in trade discussions this off season based on.
Speaker 6 (38:08):
How you've been talking to me to pass couple of
we a fighting, but apparently Pickens ain't got a lot
of trade val You don't about it like pickings around
the league like that the Cowboys might need to receive
them more than the Rams would. Huh, why can't we
take Mikayle Lemon? Y'all waffling?
Speaker 5 (38:22):
I mean we're already traded to pick That's what the
big gone.
Speaker 6 (38:24):
I feel the pig goone is over with, But don't
you want to stay?
Speaker 3 (38:27):
I completely understand we waffled.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
Who who did you're the GM? Who'd you pick I
picked Kayle Lemon.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
I'm gonna say that. I was supposed to be quiet
to day with Kyle's now your spotlight say something.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Nope, I'm good.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
I'd be fine with Spencer Fano in that scenarios.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
I think I would too there if you're going Mezzador
or Fano, Like, Mesador is my defensive guy there in
that wipeout scenario at twelve for Dallas, it's Mesidor, but
he could also fall to you at eighteen. So I
get the thought process of moving back and still picking
twice in the first round. If any of those names
above you, any of the names that were picked in
the top eleven fall, then I think you're picking it twelve.
(39:02):
Anybody else, I'm good at eighteen, whatever that ends up happening. Tommy,
you're on the clock with the Ravens at fourteen.
Speaker 7 (39:08):
Jamal McCoy Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Oh so that was quick too. So Jamal McCoy's off
the board. He's not gonna fall to eighteen Buccaneers at fifteen, votch.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
Man, they'll probably take like a corner something, so boom
boom boom. And we didn't draft Coldin Hood. Take Colden Hood, right,
there Tennessee. Okay, you're just punishing me. Now what happened
as you punishing me? I see, I see how you're playing. Okay,
I got you.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Jason's that's at fifteen to the Bucks, Coldenhood at fifteen
to the Bucks, all right, Jets at sixteen to the
uh Jets at sixteen for Bobby.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Yeah, this is probably gonna be a receiver. So we're
gonna go ahead and say Jordan Tyson wide receiver Arizona.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
States one's on the board.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
Uh recent Tyson not a bat home.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
Oh definitely not first round?
Speaker 6 (39:56):
Great on my board, he is, yep.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
All right. And then the Lions at seventeen. Ah, man,
they're kind of wiped out in their own scenario because
they want they want corner. What else is the Lions?
It's probably Spencer Fano then yeah.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
If they think you can play that, otherwise they may
look at Proctor or something.
Speaker 6 (40:20):
People around the lead think Fano will guard to something.
Speaker 5 (40:22):
There's a lot of people who think Fanto's gonna be
a guard.
Speaker 6 (40:24):
Don't see that.
Speaker 3 (40:24):
How would you say, like percentage wise if you had
to put a number on it.
Speaker 5 (40:29):
From people I've talked to who wherever they project them.
It's been like split it's about fifty fifty. Okay, but
I mean we hear that fascinating.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
Detroit said this week at the owner's meetings that they
are looking into flipping Pine Suol to left tackle. Oh
so yeah, yes, that would be fascinating if they drafted
one of these right tackles and then flip sewel.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Over to the left side. I think Fano is probably
the pick there. He's the best one on the board,
and they need offensive line so badly. Nick, you were
on the Oh wait, no, it's Cowboys. We're all on
the at eighteen. I mean, Massador is still there.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
My guy's still there.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Back one more time, y'car who's calling Nick?
Speaker 4 (41:05):
There's one team on the phone. It's the Philadelphia that
would never want that Philly pick.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
What they offering twenty three?
Speaker 4 (41:12):
And what let's see right quick twenty three? And what
y'all y'all discuss?
Speaker 6 (41:16):
Why I do some maths, Kyle, let's do day two
Thursday with these picks.
Speaker 5 (41:20):
That's hard, okay, it would be. I think I can
save this window. I think the default is Mesador here.
But would you talk about it? Since you want to
talk about the receivers early. Would you talk about Kenyon?
Speaker 6 (41:37):
I personally wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
I think I wouldn't either, but I think a lot
of people would.
Speaker 6 (41:40):
I think. I think drafting at twelve, you just kind
of got to take the best dude that falls to you,
even if that's an offensive player. I think once you're
in this territory, you can get whatever player on defense
you want at this point, so you can go safety, corner, linebacker, edge.
I feel good about all of them.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
My best player on the board is Yoanni, but I
think it's Dallas at eighteen. Yeah, you're looking at Mesador,
maybe Avion Terrell.
Speaker 6 (42:10):
And then I got Mezidor as my fourteenth guy, so
he'll be the bisdoo right here.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
O Messidora would be it for me as well.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
So that's that's already majority. If we're going to vote here,
what would you What would be your pick? Bobby, if you.
Speaker 5 (42:22):
Had one, I would say Mesador. Okay, I don't think
it's impossible.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Come up. Okay, So consensus pick. Cowboys take a Key
Mesidor edge rusher from Miami with the eighteenth pick of
the NFL Draft, after trading and picking up their forty
ninth pick from the Vikings as well. All right, Panthers
on the clock, Tommy at nineteen.
Speaker 13 (42:42):
I think the Panthers are doing backflips of happiness picking
up Vegaona here.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Hmmm, yeah, and that's possible.
Speaker 13 (42:49):
I think I don't thin they did so much on
defense that you know, you can help the offensive line
protect Bryce Young and.
Speaker 7 (42:59):
Health the offense in the run game two.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
All right, we're gonna take our second break when we
come back. The Cowboys are back on the clock at twenty.
They just took a Keen Mesidor will reset the board
for you as well. More of our live first round
mock draft right after this with more on the draft show.

In the back, I'm Kyle Yeomans. This is our live
first round mock draft, high intensity in the building, and
we aren't even actually picking these players. So this is
(46:00):
just a nice little entertaining conversation and I'm sure that'll
continue because the Cowboys are back on the clock at
pick number twenty. They did pick at eighteen, and if
you're just now tuning in. It's because the Cowboys traded
from twelve back to eighteen with the Vikings, and they
picked up a second round pick in order to do so.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
Well.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
Let's start at ten. Caleb Downs goes to the Bengals
at ten, Dolphins at eleven take Ruben Bain. The Vikings
trading up to the Cowboys at twelve, take Dylan Thieneman,
safety out of Oregon. McKay lemon wide receiver from usc
goes to the Rams. At thirteen fourteen, the Ravens take
Jermal McCoy. Fifteen, the Buccaneers take Colton Hood, Jets take
Jordan Tyson, wide receiver Arizona State. At sixteen seventeen, the
(46:43):
Lions go offensive line with Spencer Fano out of Utah.
And then the Cowboys at eighteen take where the Vikings
were picking initially a came mesidor edge rusher from Miami
and then o Ione from the Panthers or go to
the Panthers from Penn State at the nineteen overall pick,
and that's how we got the twenty. But somebody's on
the phone here, Nick, You said.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
Yeah, the the Houston Texans are on the phone here
with this pick offering to move back to pick twenty eight,
and hey, they're on to overpay here, giving up pick
number sixty nine overall in the third round. Nice, that'd
be a pretty healthy jump, or pretty healthy point discrepancy
(47:26):
in Dallas's favor. If you're looking at it from the
Texans standpoint, Look, they need offensive line.
Speaker 7 (47:35):
Defensive tackle. They're probably trying to jump Chicago there.
Speaker 4 (47:38):
Yeah, defensive tackle. And also the Chargers are looking at
defensive tackle as well. I also think this could be
a sweet spot for the Cowboys. I'm just talking offhand here.
I think this could be a sweet spot for the
Cowboys for a team to try to jump Pittsburgh to
go get Ty Simpson. But in this scenario, yeah, probab
maybe defensive tackle to try to get ahead of the
Chargers and the Bears.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
In that scenario, it would make sense for Houston to
make a jump like that, correct, Like in your mind, yes, yeah,
And what would you give up? If what would you
give back?
Speaker 4 (48:08):
You would be getting Oh my gosh, I just had it,
you'd be getting number sixty nine overall. Okay, it's the
fifth pick in the third round.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (48:18):
Do you want the chief scenario from NFL dot Com?
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Sure?
Speaker 5 (48:21):
So they had suggested as a trade as Dallas moves
out of twenty and that they would also give up
one fifty two in the fifth to eighteen and the seventh,
and then they get back twenty nine at the end
of the first one the Chiefs seventy four and the
third one forty eight in the fifth and one seventy
six in the fifth. A lot, A lot, and that
math works basically. Basically, the crux of it is, you
(48:42):
pick up an extra fifth and a third, okay, in
exchange for going back twenty to twenty nine?
Speaker 3 (48:48):
Which one are you more interested in? Tommy, I'll let
you kind of weigh in here.
Speaker 7 (48:52):
I won as many picks as possible. I would take
the Chiefs off.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
Wow, okay, vatcha you interested in either one of those?
Or is there anybody that you would like to anybody
that you would like to pick?
Speaker 6 (49:01):
Here? Man, I'll take Allen right here at Terrell right here?
Are we not talking about Woods enough? Peter Woods tackle
from Clemson? Are we not talking about him? Like falling
at this point?
Speaker 7 (49:13):
That might be the guy that Houston's trying to trade
up there.
Speaker 6 (49:15):
You have to get yeah, okay, And Bobby asked me
earlier about the tight end Kenya Sabi. Yeah, I said no,
but like where y'all at with it, Like if he
gets to this.
Speaker 5 (49:24):
Point, if he gets to he's still sitting there at
twenty nine, yeah, or twenty eight. If we move back,
then maybe I could talk about it, maybe, especially if
I picked up extra day to capital.
Speaker 4 (49:33):
Yeah, that is a good point you made earlier. If
you are going to take an offensive position or a
position you maybe shouldn't take, then you need to be
getting extra capital somewhere so that you can still select
the players that you need at the end of the day.
Speaker 3 (49:44):
So this could be that conversation of hey, there's nobody
really here that's going to revamp the defense entirely. I
would argue for CJ. Allen here myself, however, I would
I don't know that they were. I don't know if
they would either, And that's that's kind of the exercise that.
Speaker 9 (49:57):
We have here.
Speaker 5 (49:58):
I think the names that are in play they're going
to stand in a pick would be Avian Terrell, maybe
Emmanuel McNeil Warren, and then you could be lookally like
you mentioned Peter Woods, like maybe they do go all right,
let's get T J. Parker, Peter Woods. Let's I mean,
Keldrick falk is still there.
Speaker 7 (50:17):
Yeah, I got no problem sticking and picking C. J.
Allen from Georgia here.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
Yeah, but it kind of like what we talked about earlier.
We're trying to guess what the Cowboys would do, and
right now there's a lot of murmurs that maybe he
isn't Is that a possibility of a smoke screen or
is that.
Speaker 5 (50:33):
I don't something. I don't believe they would take Allen
at twenty receiver?
Speaker 3 (50:37):
Which one? They're all three goneys?
Speaker 6 (50:41):
Yeah, we were in the second round grade, so Cooper Cooper,
maybe let's you know, barbe just.
Speaker 5 (50:47):
I'm taking one of the trades. Just give me one
of the trades and I'll figure it out, because.
Speaker 3 (50:50):
We traded back in the first one trade all these
let's have a thirty fifth round people, let's just snack
them all.
Speaker 5 (50:56):
Do do you think the guy at twenty to twenty
nine is going to be that much different?
Speaker 3 (50:59):
It won't be.
Speaker 5 (51:00):
But I understand I want to bail out of twelve
a little more.
Speaker 4 (51:02):
But no team has traded in the first round more
than the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (51:05):
Meet me personally, I just don't feel like teams just
go and be just lining up to just give us
the piks. I just love to just be miserable and
be like, if I take this guy, if it happens
in real life, we all throwing a party if we
can get five day the day, two picks or something
like that. Course of course, I'm happy we throwing a
party up in here.
Speaker 5 (51:23):
Yeah, I mean that math on those two trades. Those
that mouth's pretty close, so it's not like it's not
like highway robbery if you pick that up.
Speaker 6 (51:30):
Sure, I'm just you know, I'm just being I'm giving
you a hard time by the trade stuff. I'll take
uh Terrell right here.
Speaker 3 (51:36):
I think we're we've established pretty well here that trading
back twice is a possibility. Yep, since we traded back first.
Just for the sake of this exercise, we're gonna stick
and peck at twenty.
Speaker 5 (51:47):
I'm taking to Okay, it's I'm saying Avian Torella. We're
staying out him pecking.
Speaker 6 (51:52):
Who would your selection be Devil's advocate? Does he start
if he gets here? Like, does he play over anybody?
Speaker 5 (51:59):
I mean, if Jalen Thompson is going to play some
nickel it's starting to get crowded, and I think it
says something about guys you have here.
Speaker 6 (52:06):
How Christians.
Speaker 5 (52:07):
It would be Bland, Durant, Revel Thompson, and then a
pick that like would all be taking some And then
that's before you figure out do they have any plans
for Reddy Stewart or Taylin Carson.
Speaker 3 (52:19):
Well, and remember Durant didn't play a ton of nickel.
Speaker 5 (52:22):
Not last year, but he has played He has played
the same amount of nickel snaps as Bland. Interesting for
over the course their career they've played in the slot.
The same percentage is about thirty percent of their career snaps.
Speaker 6 (52:33):
Sure, when you hear the Cowboys talk about talk about
nickel guy, are they describing make Neil Warren more than
they're describing a guy like Terror.
Speaker 5 (52:41):
You're asking me or Tommy, I'm just asking if you're
asking me. No, they're not describing Neil Warren.
Speaker 7 (52:45):
I don't think that's what they're looking for there.
Speaker 13 (52:48):
I'll pick an Anthony Hill junior from Texas here now, yeah,
at twenty right here.
Speaker 5 (52:53):
I'm saying Avian Terrell.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
I'll tell you, I'll well, I'll go with you guys,
because I like Terrell, I'll go to are we sticking
and picking here? Yes, we're sticking. Yeah, just for the
sake of the exercise, so it's not confusing the listeners.
We'll stick and pick with Terrell. Steelers are on the
clock with vatcha twenty one.
Speaker 6 (53:09):
Man. They probably go quote bait, but I wouldn't advise them.
I mean, I wouldn't tell them do that. They go like,
probably like wide receiver or something. So, uh, Casey concepts
you on, he's my tipe receiver. So give the Pittsburgh
steel this Ksey conceptsion.
Speaker 3 (53:21):
That would be the sign of a new age in Pittsburgh.
Get the small, fast guy instead of the big outside
wide receiver.
Speaker 6 (53:27):
They don't. They don't like some receiver no matter what
they do. Die go ahead racket cool with that?
Speaker 3 (53:31):
That sounds fun.
Speaker 6 (53:32):
Why receive way?
Speaker 3 (53:33):
Yeah, Bobby with the others. Look at Casey's concepts you on.
They're doing a good job of following in the back,
trying to keep up with our conversation. So you can
at least give them one highlight of Casey's concepts you where,
I'm going to talk over it for a second.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
I mean, the Chargers really need interior offensive line. I
don't know if that's makes sense for them totally here,
given what's on the board. So they also need defensive tackle,
and I think the NFL does like Peter Woods Caleb
Banks more than maybe we've talked about. I'm gonna throw
it in and say it's Woods. Then when we say
(54:07):
Peter Woods to the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
They probably feel happy about that, right. Yeah, So pretty
pumped there. Eagles on the clock at pick number twenty three.
As we kind of fly through these last few they
tried to trade up earlier, and they were probably trying
to trade up for what Nick maybe one of those
tackles initially.
Speaker 4 (54:27):
Yeah, it could be a tackle or a receiver. Is
this my pick right here?
Speaker 3 (54:30):
This is it's mine? But I'm just you were talking
about it earlier.
Speaker 4 (54:33):
Yeah, tackle, receiver, Yeah, edge safety.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
Could they go Caleb lomu here the opposite Utah offensive tackle,
because there's no freeling, there's no more Fano, there's no
more of course, I think they could go.
Speaker 4 (54:46):
To Lake Miller, Blake Miller at a Clemson I think
is one that we haven't talked about enough on the show.
As a first doctor.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
Hasn't gone doctor asn't you could maybe go there.
Speaker 4 (54:54):
It would also just be a complete Howie Roseman picked
a look at the guy that's slipping and take Kenyan City.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
Yeah at the show tight ends kind of a sneaky
need for them too.
Speaker 7 (55:04):
Just resigned Dallas Goddard though.
Speaker 4 (55:06):
Yeah, but yeah, but you're probably giving up a j
Brown and you need a receiving threat and that's a
guy that can split out.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
In the y.
Speaker 7 (55:10):
I was just throwing it out there.
Speaker 5 (55:11):
Yeah, yeah, you need weapons for the next quarterback person,
you know what that.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
I think you're right. I think that could be a
Howie Roseman pick.
Speaker 6 (55:21):
Yees.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
I think that's the most the selection there. Kenyon Sadik
is going to go to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 5 (55:27):
Which I think most of the NFL would say that's
pretty good value.
Speaker 7 (55:29):
Yeah, I think. I don't know.
Speaker 13 (55:32):
I think the Howie Rosen pick there would maybe be
that's the pick. I'm not trying to change it.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
But Keldric Folk m maybe or c J Allen yeah, CJ. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (55:43):
They do love Georgia or Georgia players.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
H questions, Nick, you're on the board with the Jags
at twenty four.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
Uh, it's the Browns correct. Formerly the Jacks pick.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
Is it I may have just written it down.
Speaker 4 (55:55):
No, you're good, yeah, number twenty four overall. Let's see
the Browns with their first pick, took Monroe freeling and tackle.
They need a receiver here, makes way too much sense.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
Omar Cooper good value too there, I think, all right,
Tommy with the Bears at twenty five.
Speaker 7 (56:12):
Caden McDonald defensive tackle Ofhio State.
Speaker 3 (56:15):
Wow, why so confident on that one.
Speaker 13 (56:17):
I think they have been in search for a defensive
tackle for a really long time, and edge is another
one for them, So maybe Folk would make sense there.
But they need more of a pass rushing threat at edge,
so I think, you know, they could use a big
run stuff or there in the middle. I'm a big
I think I might be higher than most on McDonald
(56:38):
from a host. I think he's a really good player.
He's at the top of the second round for me.
Speaker 3 (56:43):
Here you go.
Speaker 5 (56:43):
I love a breakdown with the Bears thirty overall player,
he's nice.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
Going to votch at twenty six with the Bills.
Speaker 6 (56:52):
I know I said it is early, and I totally
forgot about it. Just like fussing with y'all. There has
been a nonsense in his draft. Yeah, and every year
is nonsense.
Speaker 5 (57:00):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (57:01):
So I wrote down like d Line for them, Uh,
let's go. Uh Gabe Yakis from Illinois for the Bills.
Speaker 4 (57:08):
I like him a lot.
Speaker 6 (57:10):
Not right hit, but you know, gave gave Yakis Illinois
what position? Defensive end, pass rush?
Speaker 4 (57:16):
Here you go, it is Bobby Malchi Lawrence.
Speaker 6 (57:19):
Nonsense gonna happen. Okay, I got it. I got a
three on yakas Cole Strange went in the first round
cop years ago.
Speaker 3 (57:26):
That's true.
Speaker 6 (57:27):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 5 (57:28):
I was talking to some people yesterday and they were
talking a lot about edge here for the Yeah, I
don't know that it's it broke out this way, so
I see it. But I mean I I don't know
that it's actually going to go this way. That he's
still on the board by this point. I'm gonna say,
Zion Young dresser Missouri team, like the league been talking,
(57:49):
I think I think people, I think the League has
liked Zion Young more than we've talked about.
Speaker 6 (57:53):
That's that's that, Mills.
Speaker 5 (57:56):
I mean they did, and they did just pick Michael Williams.
So I mean, if they like the prototype, maybe they
look at fault and say they like him. But I'm
gonna say Zion Young just feels like he shouldn't be
here at this point. I'm gonna say Zion Young.
Speaker 3 (58:09):
The Texans are on the clock at twenty eight. They
were trying to trade up and go get defensive tackle help.
They weren't able to do so. So I have that
pick and I'm looking kind of where else they could go.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Chris, there is a defensive tackle still on the board.
Speaker 7 (58:26):
Who's at Kala Banks?
Speaker 3 (58:29):
KYLEA. Banks is there?
Speaker 6 (58:30):
Not thats how Banks is.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
I'm not either, but I could see the league being
high on him. I like Lee Hunter, and I have
a Hunter as my next created Christian.
Speaker 5 (58:39):
Kalab Banks is on the all looks like a football
player team for the strap.
Speaker 13 (58:43):
Well, with the pass rushers they've got, he might look
like a really good football player there.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
What does their offensive tackle situation look like? Is it
pretty rough?
Speaker 4 (58:52):
They need a tearer off?
Speaker 3 (58:53):
I was about to say they don't in there. Maybe
this is a spot for Proctor.
Speaker 4 (58:57):
Proctor, if you want to play in the guard.
Speaker 3 (58:59):
Yeah, it's kind of what I'm thinking in terms of
that one. It's either that between him or Lee Hunter.
In my opinion. I think it's more likely they go
for Proctor that spot.
Speaker 6 (59:09):
I hate a bus eleven fifty nine, so I ain't
gonna fight you.
Speaker 7 (59:12):
Why do you hate it?
Speaker 6 (59:13):
I just like Proctor guard. I think he's uh, he's
a tackle. He's too tall. I think he's probably just
probably better. But he is a mawler though I could
see it. But yeah, I like him.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
It's that I'll take Caden Proctor there. Chiefs at twenty nine.
Speaker 4 (59:25):
Nick Chiefs at twenty nine. With their first pick, they
took Montsword de Lane looking here, they need edge, so
you're down to Keldric fall Cash as how T J.
Speaker 6 (59:36):
Parker.
Speaker 4 (59:37):
I think Falk makes sense in their their mind.
Speaker 3 (59:39):
He's gonna end up being a superstar in Kansas City,
that'll be.
Speaker 4 (59:43):
It's not a bad little haul for them Lane and Falk.
Speaker 3 (59:45):
No Tommy on the clock with Dolphins at thirty.
Speaker 7 (59:51):
Dolphins need just about everything.
Speaker 5 (59:55):
They took Bain Well, you were read.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
They did not get their receiver.
Speaker 7 (59:59):
Ruined Bain okay. Uh. I think corner is another need
for them. I've been super high on this guy throughout
the whole process.
Speaker 13 (01:00:06):
I think he can work there with a new staff,
in a new regime. Give me Brandon CSA from South Carolina.
Speaker 9 (01:00:11):
Here you go.
Speaker 5 (01:00:12):
I don't think that's impossible that they don't go receiver
in the first round, like I think. I think it
makes sense that they should, but I don't think it.
There's been chatter coming out of there that Miami things like, ah,
we can get a receiver anytime in the first two
days because it's so deep they got so.
Speaker 4 (01:00:25):
They might really have Jalen told by the end of
the day.
Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Watch with the Patriots at thirty one.
Speaker 6 (01:00:32):
Uh, man, see all on board. He's still on man,
go by sej al all pro to pages or something.
Speaker 7 (01:00:42):
Go see that sucks.
Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
That's that's a good player falling sh Yeah, which I
have one piece. I'm there with you, Uh Bobby with
the Seahawks at thirty two.
Speaker 5 (01:00:54):
Man, there's not so they they could still use some
secondary stuff as big way because that what they do. Yes,
they do, but there's not a running back that just
is necessarily like blinking light in the first round. I'm
gonna say that this feels like with sort of the
way they've drafted in recent years. I think this could
(01:01:14):
be Emmanuel mcmeal Warren because I don't think there's like
a whole lot of just for what they need. There's
not anything just flashing right now. But secondary there's been
some talk about maybe some stuff on the defensive line
for them. I don't know that, Like a guy like
Howl sounds like a pick they would make. So Emmanuel
McMeel Warren feels like probably decent value right here compared
(01:01:38):
to where people have talked about them.
Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
So their safety duo would be em and Warry and
Emmanual mcneer Warren.
Speaker 5 (01:01:42):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
A lot of m's the M safety yep.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
So I got a lot of it put together. I
like it all right. That concludes our first round mock draft.
We're gonna do all first or excuse me, second round
and third round picks tomorrow. No, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 5 (01:01:57):
Yeah, we just picked up a bunch of Day two picks.
You're not gonna use them.
Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Picked up one by trading back from twelve to eighteen.
You now have a second round pick which you didn't
have initially. The Cowboys end up with Keem Mesidor at
eighteen with the trade with the Vikings and the Cowboys
at twenty toke Avion Terrell, the corner from Clemson at
the twentieth pick, a couple of guys that you feel
like could probably start on your defense, but it was
(01:02:22):
a wipeout scenario in the top eleven picks, and that's
ultimately what landed you in that spot. But that does
it for us here on the Draft Show. I'll post
the entire first round mock if you want on Twitter
by the end of the day. So if you want
to follow along, follow along again and rewatch because there's
a lot of interacting conversations in this war room for Swiss,
for Votch Lombardi, Nick Harris, Bobby Belt, Tommy Urris, Chris
(01:02:45):
Beam in the back of Kyle Yeoman saying so long
from the Draft Show. We will see you next week.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
