On episode 424 of The Nurse Keith Show nursing and healthcare career podcast, Keith interviews Chuck Jankowski, RN, BSN, CCRN, TCRN, CEN, a thirteen-year RN with experience in critical care, trauma, ED, and rapid response team nursing. During the pandemic, Chuck crossed the country, providing federal relief to hospitals that were overwhelmed by patient load or strained due to staffing crises. In those hospitals, Chuck saw new grad and novice nurses tossed feet first into highly acute, critical care situations, with no senior nurses available or few able to toss them a lifeline when they were overwhelmed. Now, working as a professional development instructor, Chuck mentors new grad RNs in their first year of practice. He developed the UnstoppableRN program to give new grads the skills they need not just to survive but to thrive in their first year of practice and build a strong foundation for their careers. The UnstoppableRN brand includes its signature cruise for nurses. Chuck also serves on a Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) in the US Department of Health and Human Services National Disaster Medical System. Prior to, and early in his nursing career, he was a firefighter and later a Lieutenant in the Fire Department of the City of New York.
