(00:05):
Hi, I'm Stephanie Poole, founderand CEO of Birth Prep Academy.
I'm on a mission to helppregnant moms prepare for their
first hospital birth.
I'm sharing revealingconversations about what it
really takes to successfullytransition into motherhood.
So join me.
We're here to discover thingslike what to expect in

(00:26):
childbirth, how to prepare foryour birth.
We'll also talk aboutbreastfeeding and so much more.
I'm so grateful to share it allwith you right here on Oh, Baby,
the podcast created for pregnantmoms, preparing for their first
hospital birth.
Let's get started.

(00:46):
All right, mama, let's talk fora second.
You've probably been told thatgiving birth is this magical,
natural experience where yourbody just knows what to do,
right?
But what if I told you thatthere's a whole side of birth
that no one's preparing you for?
And trust me, not knowing thiscould completely change your

(01:08):
experience of labor.
The truth, most moms walk intothe delivery room unprepared for
what's about to happen.
And that can lead to a birthexperience That feels
overwhelming, scary.
Or even in some cases traumatic, but that won't be you my friend,

(01:29):
because today I'm going to breakdown what no one is telling you
about giving birth and what youcan do right now to make sure
that you're fully prepared likea total boss.
And so Stick with me to the endbecause I'm going to share the
number one thing that can turnyour birth experience from

(01:51):
chaotic to calm.
And no, it is not what youthink.
So let's get into it.
All right.
So let's talk about why so manyfirst time moms feel blindsided
by labor.
Let's start with problem.
Number one, the way birth isshown in movies and TV is

(02:13):
completely unrealistic.
Let me say that again.
Y'all is totally.
Unrealistic your water breaks inthe grocery store.
You rush to the hospital andboom, baby is here in five
minutes.
Uh, not so much in real labor.
It's a process.
It can take hours.

(02:33):
And if you don't know what toexpect, those hours can feel
like an eternity.
Okay, problem number two.
Well, most birth classes, theyfocus on just the stages of
labor, not actually how tomanage them.
See, it's one thing to know thatcontractions will get stronger,

(02:56):
but it's a whole nother thing toknow exactly what to do when
they hit so that you're not leftpanicking or begging for
interventions that you didn'teven want.
And problem number three.
No one talks about the mentalgame of birth.
Now, I need you to focus inright here because this is like

(03:17):
a real thing.
Birth is as much of a mindsetgame as it is a physical one.
So, what I mean by that is ifyou walk into the delivery room
scared, Uncertain and justhoping for the best girl.
That's a recipe for feeling outof control for sure.

(03:37):
So how do you actually preparefor birth?
Like a boss?
That's probably your questionright now, right?
Well, first up.
You need a plan, my friend, andI'm not talking about a rigid
birth plan that says no epiduralin bold letters and then leaves
no room for flexibility.
I'm talking about knowing youroptions, knowing your

(04:00):
preferences, and knowing how toadvocate for yourself.
Okay, now the second thing thatyou can do to prepare for birth
is to practice coping techniquesright now.
All right, I want you to thinkabout it kind of like this.
You wouldn't run a marathonwithout training first, right?
So why would you wait untillabor to figure out how to

(04:23):
breathe through contractions?
Doesn't make sense, does it?
No.
All right.
And the third thing that I wantyou to do is to get educated
from someone who actuallyteaches how to manage birth, not
just tell you what's happeningduring birth, right?
That's exactly why I createdBump to Bundle Blueprint.

(04:44):
It's not just a childbirthclass.
It's a complete self taughtclass.
Step by step plan to help youfeel a hundred percent prepared,
confident and ready for birthand postpartum.
Now, before you go, let me leaveyou with this.
Going with the flow in laborsounds nice, right?
Until you realize that the flowisn't exactly taking you where

(05:08):
you want to go.
So in the next video, I'mbreaking down exactly why just
going with the flow can actuallylead to a traumatic birth
experience.
So if you want to avoid that andfeel in control of your birth
experience, just click on thenext video right now and trust

(05:31):
me, you don't want to miss it.
