Speaker 1 (00:12):
Today I'm going to be
talking to those of you that
struggle, picking the phone upand placing the call to the
sellers analysis, paralysis, afraid of the unknown.
You watch the videos, you'remotivated, you want to change
your life, but when the timecomes to truly do the actions,
(00:35):
come up with all of the reasonswhy you shouldn't take those
actions yet.
Now, first and foremost, thisis common.
Don't feel bad for feeling thisway.
There's many people out there.
So I'm going to speak to youfrom a place of understanding,
try to give you an analogy tothink about and then also give
(00:57):
you some motivation as to whyyou should overcome this anxiety
that you might be feeling inregards to talking to sellers.
The analogy that I want to giveyou is I've been playing a lot
of golf over the past year.
I've gotten pretty consistent.
(01:19):
I've gotten much better overthe past year.
I've got plenty to learn.
I still make plenty of mistakes, but the other day we went to
Tour 18 on a Sunday, whichSundays are notorious like one
of the worst days of the week togo golfing, especially if you
don't want to be held up byother groups.
But I wanted to go back to Tour18.
(01:41):
It's where I used to work priorto becoming an entrepreneur
back in 2009, and we went outthere and, of course, it got
super backed up.
And on the 16th hole, there wasfour groups on that one hole.
There was a group on the green, there was a group on the green,
(02:03):
there was a group on thefairway, then us sitting on the
tee box and then a group behindus waiting to tee off as well.
So we had some laughs, somejokes of the group behind us
talking about how horriblegolfers we were.
Why do we put ourselves throughthis torture?
And then, eventually, thegroups in front of us cleared
off and it was a long, straight,wide-open par four.
(02:28):
So I go up there, I tee up, gothrough my routine to hit my
drive and I topped the crap outof the ball and it went about
100 yards off to the left, juston the fringe of the rough, and
as I was walking back up to mycart, the group behind me goes
(02:50):
ah, man, don't sweat it, it'sbecause you had people watching
you, which can be a commonoccurrence when you're golfing
and you're not a professional, right, if you've ever played the
sport.
Before anxiety comes over you, there's people watching.
Oh, I want to hit a good shot.
I don't want to embarrassmyself, but it was funny because
(03:11):
in my head I actually toldmyself it had nothing to do with
those guys watching me.
I had zero anxiety.
It was actually because Ilifted my head when I took the
shot.
I knew the mistake that I madeand I pulled right up to my ball
, pulled out my three wood, smacked it 260 yards right up to
(03:33):
the green.
I went through the process.
I didn't make the same mistakeand I hit the shot pure.
And this is what happens with uswhen we're new in wholesaling,
see, we have this anxiety thatsomething's going to go wrong in
the call, but really theanxiety comes back to you don't
(03:55):
understand the process wellenough to identify the issue, so
you blame it on the wrongthings, right, just like I could
have blamed the anxiety of thatgolf shot and me miss hitting
it on.
Oh, this sucks.
It's because I'm playing on aSunday and there's four groups
and there was four grown menthat also suck at golf watching
(04:15):
me.
No, the actual mistake was melifting my head, but I know that
because of the reps that I'veput in.
And so when you're dealing withthe anxiety of picking the
phone up and calling sellers.
You need to understandsomething those reps.
Overcoming that anxiety iswhat's going to help you succeed
(04:35):
in the future, even when youmake mistakes.
I am not perfect on the phones.
I still make mistakes.
I still ask closing andquestions.
I still make assumptions onmotivation when there are still
layers of motivation I shoulduncover.
But I understand the processand because of that, because I'm
mastering and I'm alwaysworking on getting better inside
(04:58):
the process, when I do makemistakes I can identify them and
then rectify the situationmoving forward.
But see, you're at the beginningstages.
That's why you feel thatanxiety, because you don't
understand the process wellenough.
But putting in those reps andplacing each and every phone
conversation, whether or not theresult ends up with you doing
(05:22):
everything correctly and youhave to embrace no and move on
to the next conversation, or youdo everything correctly and it
ends up in a signed contract, oryou screw up and you don't get
the deal and you don't identifythe correct motivation.
You don't handle the situationcorrectly.
Those are learningopportunities.
Learning opportunities for theprocess.
(05:44):
See, you can't get wrapped upin the result.
You have to fall in love withunderstanding and knowing the
process that you're going to gothrough.
If you do that, that's wherethe results will inevitably
follow you.
So, at this point, if you'refeeling that anxiety, you don't
want to pick the phone upbecause you're scared about the
(06:07):
unknown Understand something.
That is the opportunity thatsits in front of you right now
Conquering the unknown, gettingto the point where the unknown
is now known, knowing what youshould do and what you shouldn't
do, whether or not you do it ornot.
That's what you learn on eachand every phone call moving
(06:30):
forward.
Now, ultimately, how do youfind that motivation to overcome
this fear and anxiety that youcurrently have?
You have to go back to yourpurpose on why you're even
wanting to do this.
Three years ago, I was askedduring one of my lives when I
was texting sellers how do youovercome getting yelled at,
(06:55):
cussed out and getting yourteeth kicked in by sellers
because I was doing coldoutreach, right, cold
acquisitions.
I was pulling lists, I was skiptracing and then I was texting
these sellers and a lot of themwould be angry.
How did you get my phone number?
Why would you assume that Iwant to sell my house?
So a gentleman in my life saidhow do you do this?
(07:18):
My response was acquisitions isthe heartbeat of my company.
My business relies onacquisitions.
Without that, we have nothing.
So, whatever your purpose isbehind wanting to be a
wholesaler and wanting to createyour own reality through this
(07:40):
industry, you have to look atthat.
For me, it's very simple.
At the beginning, I wanted tosupport my family.
I wanted to give my family morethan what we were currently
doing as general contractors.
I knew that we could makedecent money, but I wasn't happy
.
I was working myself to thebone and I knew that there could
(08:03):
be more out there and I foundthat with wholesaling, more out
there and I found that withwholesaling.
So because of that, yes, I hadto overcome the exact same
anxiety and fears that you'recurrently experiencing when you
need to pick up the phone.
I felt that I felt the being onthe phone with a seller and not
knowing what to say, not knowinghow to handle those situations,
(08:27):
but surrounding yourself bypeople, like the people inside
of Titanium University that haveexperienced this, that can
support you, help you answer anyquestions.
That is how you overcome thisin the long run.
Put yourself through thosestruggles and overcoming that
(08:52):
fear and anxiety to actually getto the point where you can look
back 10 years later and say itwas all worth it.
I cannot remember a specificphone conversation with a seller
that was so bad.
I can say now it wasn't worthit.
It was absolutely worth it,because I can now look at my
(09:16):
life and say there's nothingthat I want that I can't have.
I can give my kids the lifethat I wanted to give them.
When my son looks at me and saysI want to play in the NHL, I
know I can give him all thetraining, all of the support to
(09:39):
try to achieve his dream.
When my daughter looks at meand says I want to learn how to
do horseback riding, I can giveher that opportunity.
When she wants to do companydance, I can give her that
opportunity.
When she says I want to workwith animals in the future, I
can afford the opportunity tosend her to zoo school and go to
(10:00):
camps in different zoos aroundthe country to learn more about
animals.
And now, at the age of seven, she knows more about animals
than almost any person I know.
And that's all possible becauseI overcame the fear, picking
the phone up and talking tosellers and falling in love with
(10:21):
the process.
See, it's not about closingdeals.
It's about why do I want toclose this deal?
What happens when I close thatdeal?
Yes, I want to help the sellers, but ultimately we are a
for-profit organization and wewant to better our own lives.
(10:41):
You have to look at yourselfand say why am I wanting to do
this?
And then push yourself to fallin love with the process.
Then push yourself to fall inlove with the process so
inevitably, when you do make amistake, you understand what
that mistake was.
You understand how to notduplicate that mistake again,
(11:05):
fix it and move on and becomebetter every single day.
So, yes, you might be sittingright now and you might be in
that analysis process and scaredto pick up the phone, but if
you pick up the phone today, tomorrow, you will be better.
And I see this time and timeagain inside of TU, where people
(11:26):
show up and they're brand newto this industry and they have
no idea what they're saying andI will listen to their initial
phone conversations and theywant him to use the closers
formula but ultimately the gradeon that call will be horrible.
But then three weeks later it'sbetter.
(11:47):
Three months later the resultsstart to show up and six months
later they start creating theirown reality.
They start seeing the resultsthat now move the needle in
their life for the purpose thatthey had behind wanting to
become a wholesaler.
Because it's not about closingdeals.
(12:08):
It's about what happens whenyou close those deals.
So if you're sitting there rightnow and you don't want to pick
up the phone, think about thatreason.
Think about if I start today, what will this look like six to
nine months from now?
If I'm consistent as a tree andI start utilizing the training
(12:31):
that sits in front of me, all ofthese videos that I provide you
guys, if I start utilizing that, what will my future look like?
It's not about the resultstoday.
It's about the results in thefuture and what that gives you
and everything in your life thatyou want to change.
That is how you should overcomethat anxiety and the fear.
(12:54):
It's not easy, but if you startdoing it, it will get easier
each and every day.
If you're struggling with this, leave me a comment, reach out
to me.
I want to support you guys.
I want to help you.
Tell me what you're strugglingwith.
I'll give you my feedback onhow you can overcome that If you
(13:19):
appreciated this video, show mesome love, give me a like.
We'll see you guys tomorrow.
