(00:00):
Hello and welcome back to Unbox The Podcast. I’m your host, Sahar Huneidi Palmer, holistic therapist, intuitive life mentor and guide.
(00:14):
If you’re a new listener, welcome! This season we’re exploring The Power of Your Story—how the stories we tell ourselves shape our reality, and how we can rewrite them to become who we really are.
In the last few episodes, we talked about The Space In Between, the importance of Letting Go, and most recently in Becoming You— what it means to trust what’s unfolding and begin realigning with your real self.
(00:42):
So today, I want to talk about something I see so often with clients.
Once they start letting go… and start becoming… there’s this moment where they freeze. Perhaps panic! Because the next step doesn’t make sense.
(01:10):
They want clarity. A sign. A plan. Proof.
But here’s the truth (01:24):
You Can’t See the New With Old Eyes.
When you’ve entered a new space in your life—you can’t use the old logic, the old programming, or the old belief system, to understand it.
(01:52):
Your mind tries to make sense of things by pulling from the past.
That’s how logic works. It uses what it already knows. It scans your memory. Your lived experience. It tries to keep you safe.
(02:20):
But logic is always rooted in the past.
And you—you are no longer that same person.
(02:48):
So the answers won’t come from your old thinking. They’ll come from a new way of sensing.
Let’s unpack this a little.
(03:16):
Logic is useful, of course. It helps us make decisions. Navigate the world. But it can also limit us. Because logic wants certainty. And certainty is built on what’s already happened.
But what if you're stepping into something you’ve never experienced before?
(03:44):
What if what’s unfolding is something entirely new?
In that case, logic has no map. It has nothing to compare it to. That’s where we get stuck.
(04:12):
And that’s where intuition steps in.
Intuition isn’t guessing. It’s not fantasy. It’s your inner guidance system—quietly pointing you in the right direction before there’s any external proof.
(04:40):
And intuition doesn’t speak in words or plans.
It speaks through sensations in your body, emotional responses, hunches and nudges, and a sense of “rightness” that’s hard to explain or ignore.
(05:08):
That is the voice of becoming. That is the voice of your Real Self.
Let me tell you about someone I worked with. Let’s call her Sana.
(05:36):
Sana had a job that was perfect on paper. Good pay, respected title, flexible hours. But every morning, she felt sick. Heavy. Dreadful.
She couldn’t understand it. There was no logical reason to leave. But her body was speaking. Her energy was shrinking.
(06:04):
Through our sessions, she realised she had outgrown the role. It didn’t reflect who she was becoming. It wasn’t aligned with the vision she was beginning to sense.
She didn’t have a full plan. But once she gave herself permission to trust what she was sensing, her next steps became clearer.
(06:32):
She didn’t figure it out with her head—she felt it in her body first.
That’s where the truth lives.
(07:00):
So how do you know if you’re still trying to see the new with old eyes?
Here are five signs:
(07:28):
You keep saying “this doesn’t make sense” but you still feel drawn to it.
You overanalyse instead of taking action.
(07:56):
You ignore how tired or drained something makes you.
You downplay how curious or excited you feel—because it’s “not practical.”
(08:24):
You wait for permission or external validation.
This is your mind trying to protect you. But what if you’re already safe… and just growing?
(08:52):
To live as the Real You, you have to start sensing your way forward.
Be present in your body. Notice how your body reacts to situations. Is there expansion or contraction? Lightness or heaviness?
(09:20):
Give space for silence. Your inner voice needs quiet to be heard.
Journal without editing. Ask yourself (09:34):
“What is pulling me right now?”
Use your imagination. If you can’t imagine a new life, you can’t live it.
(10:02):
You’ve let go. You’re not who you were. And you’re not quite sure where you’re going. That’s okay.
This in-between space is not a mistake. It’s a threshold.
(10:30):
What’s being asked of you now is not more thinking—but more sensing.
To feel your way forward.
(10:58):
To trust that what you’re becoming is real—even if you can’t explain it yet.
Here’s your journaling prompt (11:12):
“What part of me is trying to use old logic to explain something new?”
Just sit with that. See what comes.
(11:40):
If you’re standing at a threshold and don’t know what comes next, let’s talk.
Thank you for joining me on Unbox The Podcast.
