Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, my name is Josh and I'm your push coach.
I'm a failed rock star turnedseven-figure life coach.
I've trained over 40,000coaches and entrepreneurs since
I got started back in 2014.
I currently run my own lifecoach certification for those
who want to learn the powerfultools of transforming lives
using the psychology of truecoaching.

(00:20):
On this show, we're going toexplore business from a
different perspective.
I combine high energy withpsychology to teach you business
in a totally different way.
If you're tired of being toldto just show up and do the work,
or just believe more or justtrust the compound effect, this
podcast will take you on a deepdive to help you understand what

(00:43):
is actually holding you andyour clients back from doing the
work.
Once you understand thepsychology of performance, we
can build powerful messagingthat will attract the right
people who finally show up anddo the work.
If you're ready to be apowerful leader and build your
legacy, let's dive in.
Hello, what's up?

(01:05):
My friends?
My name is Josh.
I'm your push coach, excited tohang with you this week for a
few minutes.
A couple updates to give you.
We're just coming off of ourlife coach launch for round nine
of our life and performancecoach certification.
I'm so excited to kick thisround off.

(01:26):
This Saturday we go into what wecall our Breakdown Weekend.
So there's a lot of programs, alot of certifications out there
where, as long as you writethem a check, they're going to
give you access to 50,000courses and give you a nice
piece of paper at the end thatsays you're certified.
And we do things totallydifferent what we do.
We take the first weekend toteach what I would consider like

(01:48):
the book smarts or theintellectual knowledge that you
need to have.
Okay, after that we go intoweekly practice calls, meaning
we take the elements of lifecoaching and we break them down
into small little steps.
Every single week we teach astep and then we go into
breakout rooms and we practicethose steps.

(02:11):
So many people out there arebecoming certified coaches, but
not actual skilled coaches.
And the way I like to say it isthis all of us have a manual to
our vehicle, like every singleone of us.
It comes in the glove box.
If you bought your car used andthey didn't pass along the
manual, you can Google it,download a PDF.

(02:31):
We all have a manual right, andmost of us have tools in our
garage.
So why in the world are we notworking on our own vehicles?
Why aren't we all fixing ourown cars?
Well, because the engine is alittle bit more complicated than
just knowing in theory what todo and which tools to use.
Because some people whoactually do it on a regular

(02:55):
basis start to actually developthe skills of knowing how to
take things apart, how to putthings back together right.
And I would argue that thereare a lot of people who have
never fully memorized the manual, that have worked on enough
vehicles.
At this point, for the mostpart, they know how to work on
cars.

(03:15):
Now, obviously there's someexceptions with modern computers
and stuff like that in our cars, but, like you know, let's go
back to 30 years ago, beforethere were computers in our cars
.
If you were a mechanic, youcould fix any car, you could
work on anything, because youhad just done it so many times.
Right, and this is what I seewith like not even just
certifications, but justtrainings in general is like

(03:37):
here's a manual, here's thetools, now go do it.
We can't operate like thisanymore.
We can't operate like thisanymore.
At some point we have toactually get the tools in
people's hands and like get themactually working on cars,
taking things apart, puttingthem back together At some point
.
All of the leaders have got tostop with this.
Just go do it.

(03:57):
Just go figure it out.
Mentality.
Is there a little truth to that?
Sure, but just thinking thateveryone should be able to grab
a manual, grab a screwdriver andfix a car, that's insanity.
That is absolutely insanity, and I'm just so sick of seeing
so much of this in the internetand in our industry which is
like if you have the manual, youhave the tool.

(04:18):
You should be able to do it.
So what we do in ourcertification is we walk people
through step by step, one skillat a time, until at the end of
three months.
You are not just someone with apiece of paper that says you
can coach people in theory.
You are someone who hasactually spent time coaching
people and now you're ready toactually do it.

(04:38):
Does that make sense?
And so I'm really excited forthis round.
I cannot wait to dive in.
I think we have our secondbiggest group that we've ever
had.
I can't remember the exactnumber.
I think we've got 37-ish peoplein this round.
It's going to be so freakingamazing.
I'm so pumped for this.
So here's kind of what I want totalk about on today's episode.
Is just leaders coming up to ahigher standard?

(04:59):
Here's what I'm hearing from somany leaders.
That here's what I'm hearingfrom so many leaders that
leaders are frustrated that morepeople aren't showing up and
more people aren't taking action.
I'm hearing this from leaderafter leader after leader.
Listen, I've given everyoneeverything to do and they're
still not showing up.
And I'm constantly challengingleaders in my groups as well as
one-on-one calls to be like ishaving 37 different ways to post

(05:23):
everything they actually needto succeed, or is it possible
that maybe they're strugglingwith some beliefs?
Is it possible that maybethey're struggling with actually
personalizing some of the copypaste things that you're giving
them?
Is it possible that we, asleaders, need to be a little bit

(05:45):
better about actually breakingthings down as far as the
strategy goes?
But then, in addition to that, friends, if you've given people
35 ways to do things and they'restill not doing it, I have a
little bit of a feeling that itis not a strategy problem at all
.
It's a belief problem, and whenleaders don't know how to help

(06:05):
people with their beliefs, leaders will fail elements and
how they apply to our sales andmarketing and how they apply to

(06:29):
our personal mindset, but alsoleadership.
Friends, if we can't helppeople solve belief problems,
good luck fixing action problems.
One of the things that I taughtin our Life Coach Launch
Workshop last week is thatbeliefs drive behavior.
At the end of the day, one ofmy favorite quotes and forgive

(06:51):
me because I can't remember whoit is that said this, but they
said that we can neveroutperform our own self-worth.
In other words, whatever yourself-worth is internally, we
have some dollar signs on whatwe believe we are worth.
Internally, we have some dollarsigns on what we believe we are
worth.
And if we believe we are onlyworth a certain amount of

(07:13):
success and for a lot of peoplethat's a really, really low
level of success they believe inwe'll never perform over and
above that.
So we will always run into thislid, which is our own beliefs
about our own potential, aboutthe opportunities in front of us
.
So when someone says this is soimportant, when someone says

(07:33):
I'm just overwhelmed, I'm toobusy, okay, that's not an actual
I'm overwhelmed, I'm busyproblem.
This is a self-worth problem.
In other words, I don't believeI'm worthy, I don't believe my
future and my success are worthyof the time it's going to take
for me to figure this out andput in the action.
It all comes back to beliefs,my friends, and when you know

(07:58):
how to use true coaching, we canask questions to dive a few
layers deeper, to find out whatthe real problem is instead of
what the excuse is.
I want you to write this downif you're not driving right now.
I talked about this in both ofmy books and, just a reminder, I
give those away for free on mywebsite if you just pay for
shipping.
But I want you to write thisdown.

(08:19):
Our limiting beliefs areconstantly looking for a story
to justify our fears and excuses.
I'll say it one more time Sorryif you are playing this on 1.5.
Our limiting beliefs, constantly looking for a story
to justify our fears and excuses.
We originally have an excuse,is where it starts off, and the

(08:42):
excuse or the limiting beliefmight be you know, I'm not good
enough because I'm not outgoing.
I could never create successbecause I'm not a good leader.
Whatever this story is, we thengo looking for all of the
evidence and all of the reasonsto prove that true.
So if you think you're notoutgoing enough to be successful

(09:02):
.
You'll go follow all the mostoutgoing people in the world.
You'll follow girls who arelike TikTok, dancing all over
their page, who are goingabsolutely crazy, and you'll be
like see, I knew it gonna besuccessful.
And you'll totally miss out onthe fact that there are a
million other introverted peoplecreating success all around you
, because that's not theevidence you were looking for

(09:22):
and what we seek is what we find.
Okay, grab that again.
What we seek is what we find.
Okay, grab that again.
What we seek is what we find.
If you're looking for onlyextroverted people to have
success, that's what you'regoing to find.
If you're looking for onlypeople who look a certain way to
have success, that's whatyou'll find.
And that's the same thing I didin my first year.
Friends, I thought everyone onthe John Maxwell team was like a

(09:43):
65 year old dude, was like 40years of business experience,
who had a bunch of rich friends, and was like well, I ran five
different successful businessesand then I got certified and I
called up all my friends andsaid, hey, I'm now certified.
Could I come speak?
Could I come teach?
Could I come coach?
And one rich friend said to theother sure, come on over and

(10:04):
let's just all be rich together.
And that's how I really thoughtit was happening, and I'm sure
there was some of that happening.
But you know what happened whenI showed up for graduation?
When I showed up for graduation,I was one of the few, very,
very few people in the room thatwere actually having success.
What was happening was I hadthis idea based on my mentor,

(10:27):
this one single person and thentwo or three other people in the
program, and this idea thateveryone was these older people
with tons of business experience.
And the reality is I got there,95% of the room was young and
even the people who had abusiness experience weren't
figuring out, like it wasn'tclicking for them.

(10:48):
And what happened to me is Ihad that excuse and looked for
that story for the first sixmonths and finally I used all of
the coaching tools I was beingtaught on myself, started doing
some self-coaching and someself-evaluating and found it in
myself to just say, maybe, as ofright now, everyone that's

(11:08):
having success in this programis a 70-year-old white dude with
40 years of business experienceand 100 business friends.
But I'm not that and I'm notgoing to be that.
So I've got to find my own way,and I set out my friends to
define success for myselfinstead of using other people's

(11:31):
vision or version of success asan excuse.
And I just had to go pave myown path.
And by the time I created my ownversion of success, I had to
actually stop going to the JohnMaxwell trainings because I
couldn't go pee without havingfive people surrounding me
wanting to ask me how I createdsuccess via social media using

(11:55):
Zoom.
I mean, this was 2015.
So, guys, not a lot of peoplewere using Zoom for life
coaching.
Not a lot of people were usingsocial media for life coaching.
I mean, like, I was literallyone of the first people to do it
.
Okay, and before you go off onyour own, well, you were the
first to do it.
That's why it worked for you.
No, it worked for me because Iwas committed to finding the way

(12:21):
it would work for me Instead ofusing the ways it had worked
for others as an excuse.
I just said this is me, this iswho I am, this is what I want,
and it's on me to figure it out.
Now I just want to be veryclear that took some big time
coaching.
That took some big timeevaluating.
That wasn't something thathappened overnight.

(12:42):
That was an ongoing, dailyprocess, and that's why true
coaching becomes so important.
My friends, it's not a one timehappening, okay, it's an every
single day processing throughsome of this and finding what we
call your heart voice, findingyour true power, finding your
true alignment.
And then natural actions startto happen as you find your

(13:07):
internal purpose, passion, powerand alignment.
And when that happens, youbecome unstoppable, my friend.
So I became unstoppable and Iwas unstoppable before I was
ever being paid to beunstoppable.
I just got to a point, something we call in our
certification, we call itself-confidence, which means you
get to a point where youbelieve in yourself so freaking

(13:32):
much that nothing can get inyour way, nothing can stop you.
And I'm not talking aboutforcing it.
I'm not talking about faking ituntil you make it.
I'm not talking about showingup.
I'm not talking about faking ituntil you make it.
I'm not talking about showingup scared.
I'm talking about coachingyourself through it to where you
find your own internalconfidence and belief in self.
And that is a beautiful andpowerful thing.

(13:53):
So please do me a favor Ifyou're a leader, learn some new
skills that are going to helppeople on a deeper level, so
that you can help them to showup, instead of continuing to hit
them over the head with newsystems and new strategies that
people still can't handle.
If you are the personstruggling to show up for

(14:14):
yourself, please lean in, learnsome of these skills to help
yourself.
Our round of certification isbasically in motion.
If it's a last minute thing andyou're willing to do a little
bit of makeup work, shoot me anemail info at joshcoatscom and
we can chat about getting you in.
But if that's not the righttime for you, not the right
season for you, I want to inviteyou to check out our membership

(14:35):

We'll be doing another biglaunch for that at the beginning
of March and the prices will begoing up, so if you're
interested in getting to thatcurrently you can jump in at $45
a month.
We have weekly training calls.
We do a bingo card challenge, which is just a fun way of doing
a daily tracker.

(14:59):
basically mark off all theactivities on the bingo card
that you did for the day and atthe end of the week we give cash
prizes to first place, secondplace and third place, and then
we also give away cash prizes tothree people at random.
So we are rewarding the topperformers as well as rewarding
everybody for participating.
We have one girl, charlene, whoin January I think, made like

(15:24):
$150.
Even though she paid less than50, she profited off of our
program.
So this is one of my favoritethings to do is give that extra
accountability that gets you toshow up.
I also record little minimotivational videos for them
throughout the week to keep themconnected to my energy.
So if you're interested in that, you want to check that out, you

(15:45):

like $2,000 of bonus courses asjust my gift to you for
investing in yourself and makingthe decision to learn some new

(16:06):
skills.

sales psychology and leadership.
So if that's something you'reinterested in, make sure and go
grab that.
We'll put the link right herein the comments.

inside.
All the resources you'll everneed are right under your nose.
