Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, my name is Josh and I'm your push coach.
I'm a failed rockstar turnedseven figure life coach.
I've trained over 40,000coaches and entrepreneurs since
I got started back in 2014.
I currently run my own lifecoach certification for those
who want to learn the powerfultools of transforming lives
using the psychology of truecoaching.

(00:20):
On this show, we're going toexplore business from a
different perspective.
I combine high energy withpsychology to teach you business
in a totally different way.
If you're tired of being toldto just show up and do the work,
or just believe more or justtrust the compound effect, this
podcast will take you on a deepdive to help you understand what

(00:43):
is actually holding you andyour clients back from doing the
work.
Once you understand thepsychology of performance, we
can build powerful messagingthat will attract the right
people who finally show up anddo the work.
If you're ready to be apowerful leader and build your
legacy, let's dive in.
Hello and what's up everybody,my name is Josh, I'm your push

(01:07):
coach, excited to drop anotherlittle mini episode.
I'm doing some mini episodesthrough the holiday season
because I'm in the middle ofdoing lots of really cool,
exciting new things for 2025that I'm really really freaking
pumped about.
One of the things that I'mdoing is literally next week, so

(01:28):
the week of December.
Let me give you dates because Inever know when you're
listening.
So December 11th, 12th, 13thand 14th, I'm doing a really
awesome four-day leadershipchallenge with 10 plus guest
speakers from all differentcompanies.
It's going to be amazing andhere's one of the things
specifically that I will beteaching on.
I want to talk to you aboutsomething today.

(01:49):
This is really really, reallyimportant.
I've told this to my six figureleaders this week.
I said, when everything is goinggood and when the economy is
great and people are just liningup to buy and everything is
just so fun and easy, All peopleneed is a leader who can cheer

(02:10):
them on and just literally puton a hype show to essentially
just keep them excited to keepgoing forward.
But when times are hard whetherthat be a year where the
economy has been rough checkWhether that be a busier time of
the year that people getdistracted like the holidays.

(02:31):
Check Whether that be just that.
Maybe you know, in general, online business is going through
some rough patches check whentimes are harder.
People need more than a hypeshow.
People need more than acheerleader.
What they need is a leader whohas actually learned and

(02:52):
developed the skills of actuallyhelping people on an internal
level.
Here's what I mean by this.
Almost all external problemshave an internal root to the
problem.
Now, obviously, something likethe economy is something we
can't control right, but here'swhat I've found is, when outward

(03:14):
circumstances are trickier ormore stressful or more
overwhelming however you want toput that it causes internal
beliefs that people already hadto get triggered that much more.
In other words, if someonealready is having a hard time
believing in themselves, if theeconomy is good and people are

(03:35):
buying and everything is easy,it's pretty easy to overcome
that limiting belief becauseyou're getting so much outward
affirmation and validation.
You don't need as muchvalidation, you don't need as
much support, you don't need asmuch help.
However, when the externalthings become a little bit
harder and a little bit morechallenging, you'll find that

(03:57):
the questions and the limitingbeliefs and the doubts and the
fears are that much louderbecause they're not getting as
much outward affirmation as whatthey want.
And when we don't get theoutward affirmation that we want
, all we have left to go off ofis what we really truly believe
on the inside about ourselves, and most people are still really

(04:22):
, really, really struggling withthat.
I mean guys, I talk to leaderssix and seven figure leaders
every single day that arestruggling with that for
themselves.
So imagine what someone who isnot a six or seven figure leader
must be struggling with on aday to day basis.
And so one of the things thatI'm going to be teaching inside
the challenge is a lot of theprinciples and elements and

(04:45):
tools from my life coachingcertification, because it is,
hands down, the greatestleadership tool on the planet.
In fact, I call it theuniversal leadership tool,
because if you know how to usetrue coaching, okay.
So I want to like point out thedifference.
Here there's mentoring and thenthere's true coaching.
Mentoring is when I'm tellingyou what to do based on

(05:07):
something I've already done.
So it's really just teaching, and there's nothing bad about
this.
There's nothing wrong with that.
We all need to teach.
It's literally what I'm doingtoday.
But then there's true coaching, and true coaching is when I'm
coming across something thateither one I haven't personally
experienced, or two I'm dealingwith someone who is currently

(05:28):
stuck in a headspace and me justtelling them what's worked for
me isn't going to help them, because if I'm not careful,
they're going to actually use meto justify their limiting
beliefs.
Let me give you an example.
Someone is struggling, well, because maybe they've had a
death in the family recently, like they might say, their mom

(05:50):
recently passed away and we'relike, well, I get it.
That's a hard time.
And when I've gone through ahard time, here is what I have
done to get through it.
And here's the problem withthat is one.
Whatever hard time you wentthrough and I don't care what it
was, or even if it was harderthan what they are going through
it is not the same, becausethis person is dealing with

(06:12):
their own unique individualstruggle, and when someone is
going through a struggle, theydon't want to hear that.
You went through the same thing.
My youngest son went throughthree open heart surgeries and
he's fine now.
Everything's good now.
But people from our church wouldcome bring us dinner, which was
such a blessing but also such acurse.

(06:33):
It was a blessing because weappreciated them taking the time
to bring us food, because wewere already behind financially
because of everything we weregoing through.
So it was a blessing One lessthing we had to worry about but
it was a curse because peoplethought by bringing us food,
they had, like bought a check-into see how our kid was doing
and have a 30 minuteconversation with us, and the

(06:55):
last thing we want to do is haveto tell people every single day
, over and over and over andover, about our kid's situation
and people would say thecraziest things.
They would say Josh, I knowexactly what you're going
through.
When my son was born, he had areally bad cough and we were in
the NICU for two days and I'd belike are you kidding me right
now?
Your kid was in the NICU fortwo days.

(07:15):
My kid is having open heartsurgery.
He's being hooked up to 30different machines.
He's literally swollen up totwice his body weight after the
procedure.
Like this is not the same.
I'm giving a very dramaticsituation on purpose to help you
get the point.
If we're not careful in tryingto help people, we accidentally

(07:38):
trigger them and actually makethem feel unseen and unheard and
everyone's greatest desire isto feel seen and feel heard and
if we're not careful instead ofactually having a space for them
, helping them process and workthrough things so that they can

(07:59):
then be more effective in theirbusiness and in their life and
in everything really.
Instead we accidentally justthrow some advice on them, think
that the problem is fixed andthen move on.
And then we have peoplesometimes that were like I've
given them the right thing to doover and over and over.
How come they just don't do it?
Well, because they have otherthings going on that are holding

(08:20):
them back from doing it.
And so this is really important.
It's the quote that changed mylife more than any other quote
in the world.
I'll actually give you both ofthem.
There's two quotes that changedmy life more than anything else
in the world.
The first one says until wemake the unconscious conscious,
it will rule our life and wewill call it fate.
That's a Carl Jung quote.
It says until we make theunconscious conscious, it will

(08:44):
rule our life.
We will call it fate.
You, it will rule our life, wewill call it fate.
You see, people are walkingaround every single day with
unconscious beliefs that areholding them back from the
things they want to be doing.
And until we help them addressthese unconscious beliefs, like
I'm not good enough, this isnever gonna work for me.
I'm afraid of failure or I'mafraid of putting myself out

(09:05):
there until we deal with thesethings.
It's insane to think thatpeople can just get over it and
find a way to just work.
Now, some of you are wired towhere you can just get over it
and work Okay, but that's nothow most people are wired, and
so we need to have more skills.
We need to have more tools toactually help these people.
Now the second thing that is mysecond favorite quote that

(09:26):
changed my life forever saysthis it is arrogant and ignorant
to assume that someone else cando exactly what you have done
and get the same results.
I'll say it one more time, andif you have your podcast speed
turned up to 1.5, highlyrecommend you turn it back down
to 1.0, because I literally liveat 1.5.
You're going to have to slow medown to normal speed and you

(09:49):
might even need to put me atlike 0.75 to keep up.
It is arrogant and ignorant toassume that someone else can do
exactly what you've done and getthe same results.
It is absolutely ridiculous toassume the same thing that got
you through a hard time will getsomeone else through a hard
time.
It is absolutely insane toassume that the same book that

(10:14):
changed your life is the exactbook that everyone else needs.
Everyone is wired differently, uniquely and individually, and
our job as leaders, our greatestjob, is to be able to have
tools to help people on anindividual level.
Now, don't get me wrong, wealso need to be able to take
some of these tools and put theminto effective use for groups,

(10:37):
such as like team calls andgroup trainings and things like
that, but even with this, thisis so important.
One of the most powerful thingsthat I learned from life
coaching is that when you helppeople on an individual level,
over and over and over and over,it better prepares you to help
people on a more global level.
Because when you help people onan individual level, you start

(10:57):
to get to know what actualthings are holding individuals
back from taking action.
And if you do 20 or 30 of thoseindividual calls, you'll find
that about 80% of them arestruggling with the exact same
thing.
And then you can take the thingthat 80% of people are
struggling with and go teachthat to the whole group, to the

(11:18):
whole team, to the wholecustomer group, whatever that is
, and all of a sudden, we becomeincredibly effective because we
are now laser focused on thespecific things that move people
forward.
So if you want to learn how twothings you can do, number one,
make sure and register for theleadership challenge.
If you're listening to thiswithin a time span that that's

(11:39):
still happening I know some ofyou might be listening to this
three months later that'stotally fine.
But you can go to joshcoatscom.
We're going to put the linkright here in the show notes for
you.
Make sure, it's super easy foryou.
But it's actually joshcoatscom,in case you're like driving and
need to come back to this later.
Just, you're like driving andneed to come back to this later.
Just joshcoatscom, slashleadership, joshcoatscom, slash

(11:59):
leadership.
And that will be the opt-inpage, totally free.
Four day challenge.
Okay, if you don't care aboutthat, don't want that, or maybe
that time has already passed.
You can also go to joshcoatscom, scroll down toward the bottom
and it says two ways to workwith me.
One is the six figure innercircle, the other is the life
coach certification.

(12:19):
So if you're like, honestly, Ijust want to learn the life
coaching, like I want to get thefull thing, you can go join the
wait list for that.
We are launching our next roundin January.
I'm so pumped for this.
It's going to be our ninthround.
We have, I think, about 260people that we've now certified
over the last two and a halfyears.
Going into round nine, you canjump on the wait list and when

(12:40):
you join the wait list you willget a calendar link that will
let you book a call with one ofmy master coaches and get a
totally free session to justexperience what coaching
actually is.
It's not a sales call, okay,it's a free coaching.
It's my gift to you.
So many people are like youshould buy this thing.
That's behind the curtain andno, you can't see it.

(13:01):
I know you can't touch it.
No, you can't experience it.
You just got to trust me offthat.
If you're about to spend yourmoney with me, I want to let you
actually touch and see andexperience what it is you would
be investing in.
So go to joshcoatscom.
You can jump on the wait list.
We will get you on a call witha master coach to experience it

(13:25):
for free, and if you really areinterested, you can always talk
to me directly as well.
I'm more than happy to do that.
But one of the reasons I giveyou a call with a master coach
is if I can coach you.
That is proof that I'm a goodcoach, but it's not proof that I
can help you become a goodcoach.
If you get a call with someonethat I have trained now, you're

(13:45):
seeing the skills that have beenpassed on from me to someone
else, and that's a really,really powerful thing.
There's not a lot of programsthat will say, hey, take a free
call with one of my students tosee how well they learned from
me.
Instead, it's like let meconvince you that I can do this.
But the reality is, thecertification is not about
whether or not I can coach.
It's about whether or not I canhelp you to coach.

(14:08):
So grab one of those free callsif you're interested.
I'd love for you to justexperience it.
It'll change your life forever.
All right, I love you guys somuch, I believe in you so much.
If you get nothing else out ofthis, I hope that you just get
this.
When times are easy, you canget away with being a
cheerleader, but when times arechallenging or people that
you're working with are goingthrough challenging times,

(14:29):
you're going to need more skillsthan just drinking coffee and
talking a lot, which don't getme wrong, I love to do that
drinking coffee and talking alot, which don't get me wrong.
I love to do that but I willforever be grateful that life
coaching created a totallydifferent side of the coin for
me.
Okay, can I drink coffee andtalk a lot?
Absolutely yes, I can.
I love to do it, actually, butit's nowhere close to as

(14:53):
effective as true coaching.
All right, love you so much.
I believe in you.
Have an amazing day and I willsee you on the next call.
