and I'm your push coach.
I'm a failed rock star turnedseven-figure life coach.
I've trained over 40,000coaches and entrepreneurs since
I got started back in 2014.
I currently run my own lifecoach certification for those
who want to learn the powerfultools of transforming lives
using the psychology of truecoaching.
(00:20):
On this show, we're going toexplore business from a
different perspective.
I combine high energy withpsychology to teach you business
in a totally different way.
If you're tired of being toldto just show up and do the work,
or just believe more or justtrust the compound effect, this
podcast will take you on a deepdive to help you understand what
(00:43):
is actually holding you andyour clients back from doing the
work.
Once you understand thepsychology of performance, we
can build powerful messagingthat will attract the right
people who finally show up anddo the work.
If you're ready to be apowerful leader and build your
legacy, let's dive in.
(01:04):
I want to introduce you guys tomy partner in crime.
So Annie was our very, veryfirst sign up for our life coach
certification.
She was our very first mastercoach.
She then got promoted to likeour very first co-facilitator
and she is someone that will beteaching in the certification
along with me.
Now, all of the marketing stuffI will be teaching and then the
coaching stuff.
(01:25):
We all of the marketing stuff Iwill be teaching and then the
coaching stuff.
We split 50-50, okay, so you'llget to see me every other week
in the certification calls andon the other calls you'll see
Annie, and then you'll see me inall of the marketing stuff.
So you're gonna get a lot ofhours with me, but I wanted you
to get to hang out with Annie alittle bit and see the other
half of the equation that's inthe certification.
So, annie, I'm going to hand itover to you and let you take it
(01:46):
away, friend.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
All right, thank you
so much, josh.
I am so excited to be heretoday with you guys.
So for those of you who don'tknow me, my name is Annie
McCarty.
I just want to share a littlebit about my background and my
story because it's going to leadinto what I want to teach you
today.
So right out of college, myhusband and I both decided we
are not like in the box kind ofpeople.
We were not cut out forcorporate America jobs, even
(02:18):
though he got a business econdegree.
I got a web design degree.
It would have made a lot ofsense for us to just go into a
nine to five and get paid oursalary and live that life, but
we knew that we were not goingto be happy with that.
So we both started businessesright out of college.
He started an automotive shopwhere, which we still have that
(02:41):
business today.
I am the CFO for that business.
I do a lot of leadershipdevelopment there.
And then I started a web designbusiness, which I did
eventually decide I did not loveand closed down.
I then went into working withpeople as a coach online.
I'm going to put that in quotesbecause what I was doing was
(03:03):
just giving people advice, I wasmentoring them, I was telling
them what to do and I got veryfrustrated because I realized
that people would listen to whatI said and then they wouldn't
go do it.
And I'm like, why will you notjust listen to me?
I am telling you what works andyou won't do it.
(03:24):
And I was running my businessfrom this place of frustration,
sometimes resentment, because Iwas pouring so much into my
clients and there were somepeople it worked for, but the
vast majority it did not work.
So that's why, when Joshdecided to launch his life coach
(03:44):
certification, I had been in agroup with am so frustrated with
my business, with my clients, with myself.
(04:08):
I was stuck, my clients werestuck and I knew there were
tools that I could learn to getout of this stuckness.
But I just didn't have thosepieces.
And when I learned lifecoaching for my husband's
business, I ended up launching aleadership development program.
(04:29):
We had been stuck at, you know,in the high six figures and
could not push our business pastthat seven figure mark.
Literally as soon as I gotcertified and had those tools to
be able to help our employeesand also become a better leader
myself, we hit that seven-figuremark and have just kept ticking
(04:52):
up that revenue ever since Inmy business as well.
It unlocked so much and I endedup taking a very different
direction with my business, where I now work with
entrepreneurs, mostly spiritualand creative entrepreneurs.
I have a background in businesssystems and automations.
You will probably see me thatcall that we're going to teach
(05:14):
you guys how to do emailmarketing.
That is my jam.
I love teaching people on thatside of things, but I come from
a very coaching backgroundperspective of true coaching.
Yes, I love teaching andmentoring, but I also wrap a lot
of coaching into what I do inall of my businesses, because
(05:34):
that has been what has been ableto unlock that for me to help
people get unstuck, to getmyself unstuck and so that's
what I want to teach you guys.
Today was an element of coaching, of what helped me go from that
very frustrated, stuck place inmy business to a next level
(05:59):
leader and able to really helppeople transform their lives and
also transform all of mybusinesses in the process.
So I'm going to start out today.
I have some questions for youguys, because I love coaching
and I love asking people somequestions.
So I want to hear what are thebiggest things right now in your
(06:20):
business that are holding youback from having the success
that you want.
Maybe these are some obstacles, some roadblocks you've run into
.
You were like if I could justhave this thing, it would get me
to that next level, it wouldhelp me have that success.
Your depression if we couldhelp shift that depression and
(06:42):
get out of that cycle.
That would help.
Time management coupled withlimiting beliefs yeah, so if we
could have more time, maybe makebetter use of our time,
overcome those limiting beliefsthat have been holding us back.
New connections or fruitfulconnections with current
contacts.
So, yeah, taking those peoplewho we know online, who have
(07:06):
been following us, and actuallyturn those people into customers
, right?
Yes, all of that, doing theright things, feeling worthy
enough, self-sabotage so if wecould just have those things.
So have a better mindset, overcome that fear of rejection.
So those feelings, thosethoughts, right.
(07:27):
A lot of the time we get stuckin these thought spirals.
Sometimes it's like if I couldhave a quieter mind, if I could
just get over those thoughtsthat I have.
Let me ask you if you did havethat thing, if you had the time
management, if you had overcomeyour limiting beliefs, if you
had these relationships withpeople, if you weren't having
(07:51):
that fear of rejection, if youwere able to share your story,
what would you do with that?
So what would you do with thattime?
What would you do with thatconfidence?
What are some things that youwould do in your business?
So this is what society hastold us, the way that we think
(08:14):
about things.
So this is the way that oursubconscious often works.
We think that we have to havesomething like.
I'm going to share somespecific examples of mine with
you here in a second.
We think we have to havesomething first in order to do
the things, and then we do thethings, we will become that
(08:36):
person that we want to be.
We will have that success.
We will be that leader.
So some of my old thinkingpatterns that I had before this
shift happened, before truecoaching came into my world, was
one that I was very stuck onwas the time thing, which I know
somebody mentioned, and we'vetalked a lot about time today,
(08:59):
and this is also stuff yourcustomers and your clients and
your team is going through tooright.
So I thought when I have moretime, I will connect with more
people, I will invite morepeople to my business, I will
post more, I will do moremarketing, I will get to work in
(09:19):
my business more, I'll get todo all those things and then,
when I do all those things, thenI will be successful.
That's what's going to bring methat business success.
I also had the thought a lot ofwhen I have more money.
We haven't talked a lot aboutmoney today, but I always
thought when I have more money, then I'm going to be able to
(09:41):
invest in all these programs,I'm going to be able to invest
into Josh's Life Coachcertification, and that's what's
going to help me learn to be abetter leader, right?
So what if I told you that weare actually thinking about
things backwards from the waythat it actually is?
(10:03):
So we actually need to do alittle flip here.
It is actually not have to bethe way that this works.
We need to work on being, onbecoming first.
When we become that next level,we then do the things of that
(10:27):
person at the next level, andthat's actually what gets us to
have the results that we want tohave.
So when I started to flip theway that my brain was thinking
about this to the way that itactually works.
When I started having thethought and the belief, I am the
(10:47):
CEO of my business.
When I took that ownership andstarted to adopt the belief, I
am the CEO of my business.
When I took that ownership andstarted to adopt the belief, I
am the CEO of my business.
How does a CEO run theirbusiness?
Does a CEO do every singlething in the business?
Is a CEO in there cleaning thetoilets?
Is a CEO like making salescalls?
(11:08):
Is a CEO doing filing andscanning?
No, they delegate all of thatstuff.
They have somebody else do thatso they can focus on the top
20% that gets the results.
So I am the CEO of my business.
That means I focus on the top20% that gets the most results
and I delegate the rest.
(11:29):
And when I started doing thosethings, then I actually had more
time.
That time I had been lookingfor all along and being like if
I just had more time I would beable to do these things in my
business.
I actually had to think aboutthings a different way, in that
it was an identity shift for me.
(11:50):
It was a becoming.
When I started having themindset shift and adopting the
belief, I am a powerful leader.
I am a powerful leader already.
Now, what does a powerfulleader do?
What does a powerful leaderthink?
When I am a powerful leader, Imake smart business investments.
(12:12):
When I started to think aboutthat a little bit differently
and say I am a powerful leaderand that means I make really
smart business investments tolearn new skills so that I can
earn more income.
When I learn those skills, that's where the income follows.
I get to have that income thata powerful leader creates.
(12:36):
What I want to show you now someof you have definitely seen
this, especially if you're inlegacy leadership university
membership, but some of you thismight be brand new.
So, with our life coachcertification, the way we teach
it, we actually have a systemcalled the push method and why I
absolutely love the push method.
(12:58):
So, like I shared, I am abusiness systems expert totally
rogue but having a system issomething that it helps you
operate, it helps you learn, ithelps you have a framework that
(13:21):
you can always fall back on, andthat was part of what was so
powerful about this method oflife coaching for me was that
there was this system that Icould always go back to and I
always had in my back pocket.
So we have our facts.
From our facts, we have a storythat happens in our mind.
That story creates feelings.
Those feelings lead us to act acertain way or not act a
(13:44):
certain way, and when we act ornot act a certain way or not act
a certain way, it manifests, itcreates results.
Part of why I wanted to sharethe be, do have framework with
(14:05):
you is because it actually fitsbeautifully into this push
method that you will be learningin the certification.
So and I wanted to show this toyou because this proves why we
have to be first being is ourbeliefs right.
Our beliefs create our identityabout who we are.
That's, who do you need to bein order to have those results
you want?
When we be, we then takecertain actions, we do certain
(14:29):
things of this identity, andwhen we do those certain things
that an identity does, we thenmanifest the results of who that
identity is.
So for me, this was the shiftthat made all the difference in
my business, in my husband'sbusiness, in my leadership, in
(14:52):
my personal life as a mom.
Like literally every aspect ofmy life was touched by just
having this little shift, because I now understood how our
subconscious works.
Right.
I understood that A lot of thetime we get stuck back here.
(15:12):
We get stuck here where we needto say I need to wait until I
have more time, I need to waituntil I have the money to invest
, I need to wait until I havethat confidence or that
experience.
I need to fix myself, I need tospend a little more time on
healing me before I can go helpothers.
(15:32):
Right?
Have you ever thought that Ineed to heal my past and then,
when I do that, then I'll beready to learn these skills?
What if learning the skillsbecause we have a certain
identity was what led to usbeing able to heal and fix
ourselves so much of my healing?
I'm not going to go into mypast.
(15:53):
I had a lot of stuff that Ineeded to sort out for me
personally.
I had so much that needed to behealed and needed to be worked
on.
And when I dove into thecertification and learned, this
part of the power of ourcertification is well and
knowing the push method.
(16:14):
So, number one we learn tocoach ourselves.
You can use this framework tocoach yourself.
That is probably the mostvaluable tool that I took out of
this yes, I can coach otherpeople and I can earn income
charging other people to coachthem, but being able to coach
myself through things, becauseas a business owner, as a leader
(16:37):
, we get a lot of crap thrownour way and it's really
important to be able to coachourselves through that, so that
we're not just in that fight orflight, so that we actually can
learn to choose a moreempowering story.
Right, we're not just workingon people's limiting beliefs,
but we're actually helping themshift that into a more
(16:59):
empowering story.
And being able to do that formyself was huge.
Also, when you are surroundedby other people who are learning
this and you are gettingcoaching every single week right
, we have practice sessionsevery single week.
That was such a huge part forme is I was like, yes, I don't
(17:20):
know if I want to do this aslike a full business, which I
ended up wanting to do as a fullbusiness in the end because I
fell in love with it so much.
My initial intention wasactually to wrap this into the
business I already had, but Ifell in love with it so much.
I was like, yes, but I got toget coached every single week
(17:40):
going through the certificationthat was so, so huge in helping
me start to heal all of thestuff that I needed to work on
inside myself as well aslearning these new skills.
So how do we become?
How do we become?
How do we shift our identity?
(18:01):
We shift our identity byreprogramming our subconscious
beliefs, and the fastest way toreprogram our subconscious
beliefs is through coaching.
It's through understanding thiscoaching process.
It's through understanding thepush method and then knowing how
to shift those right.
(18:22):
So that's what I wanted to do alittle teaching on today and
share with you guys.
I hope that this was helpfuljust in being able to share with
you that massive shift that Ihad, because I was very stuck in
a have-do-be way of thinkingand part of why that wasn't
(18:44):
working is because that'sactually fighting the way our
subconscious works.
That's not actually how itworks, and when I understood how
it works, when I had thatawareness of how it works, then
I was able to use that.
I was able to harness it anduse it for me instead of against
me.
So thank you guys so much forbeing here.
(19:07):
I'm going to pass it back overto Josh.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
That was so good,
annie, thank you so much.
Love you guys so much.
Thank you again, Annie, forhanging out with us.
Love you friends.
Have an awesome day everyone.
We'll see you soon.
