在20来岁的时候，袋鼠看穿了异性恋婚姻之中女性的糟糕境地，她决定：去他的婚姻。
她决定给自己生个孩子，跟自己姓。
就像电影《安东尼娅家族》里安东尼娅的女儿一样，她找到了适合的配子，确保了各项安全，怀上了孩子，顺顺利利、幸运地生下了自己想要的女儿，并得到了妈妈和姐姐们的支持。在这个过程里，她还在妈妈去世之前，重新建立了她们之间被男权分割的联盟。
生下女儿之后，她此前模糊的女权意识，迅速明晰起来。她发现有一个随母姓的女儿有多么“香”，而面对男权社会对女儿无处不在的打压规训，她也发展出了越来越敏感的触角和应对方式。
