Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, they talk better than the excite.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
These are the radio blogs on the Fresh Show, like
we're riding in our diaries, except we say them aloud.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Kiki you ready, yep, all right, deer blog. All right.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
So you know we're supposed to get our oil changes
ever so often. They give you a little sticker and
tell you the date every so often.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
I don't tend to follow that sticker.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I just a recommendation.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yeah, I go when the car tells me.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
I was gonna say, yeah, yeah, I gotta go, actually speaking.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Yeah, why go early?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
So I wait till the last minute, of course, to
go get an oil change.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
And yesterday was today, And of.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Course going to get an oil change is never just
going to get an oil change, like you know, you
go in there. I try not to make eye contact
with anybody. I try to look tough, you know, like
I know what I'm doing. I'm standing on business. But
every time, no, guess there.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Was an issue with the flux capacitor.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Wasn't that That's always?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, you know your air filters need to be changed.
And you know we had to use the gold grade oil.
Like bro, I just watched you use the same oil
that you use on the other pie, I don't even
play with me.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Run like show you apart from your car and be like,
look how messed up this is.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
I'm like, they call you up to the counter and
shame you in front of everybody else.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Yeah, you're like, this is what your air filter should
look like. This is what yours looks like.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
It's like, I want to know because you just went
out the dark.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
I didn't even know that was a part of my call.
Like I've never seen I don't even know where you
got that from. So, you know, we go through the
whole spiel or whatever. But this guy that helped me
yesterday was very nice man, and I want to thank
him because he notified me that I've been riding around
with a screw or a nail in my tire, and
you know, he gave me this whole spiel and he's like,
you know, you can just go get the plug from
(01:43):
AutoZone and it'll be a quick little fix. And I'm like,
watcht you just do it, you know, and he's like,
I can't because of legal something something by law, right,
you know, he came up with some reason. So I
was like, all right, so I left or whatever. But
on my way home. I was on the phone with
a friend and he was like, you know where you
wait your headed? And I was like, I just left
from getting an oil change. He was like, in oil
change you went to? I said, yes, I took my
(02:04):
car to get.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
An oil chain. Where's your man at? And I'm like,
excuse me, Ry.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Am an independent woman's home cooking where he should be
he's Texas?
Speaker 3 (02:25):
But no, But like you know, I don't defend Big
Tim often on this show.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Okay, but I.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Would like to say, like, why can I go get
an oil change?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Am I doing life wrong? Ladies?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Man?
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Am I?
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Am I doing this wrong? Should I not be going
to get an oil change?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I mean it would be I was supposed to a
nice thing for him to do for you, but you're
fully capable of doing it.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Does that work? I was like, I got some time up.
Why did I just go handle this? I didn't know.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
But if I'm not supposed to be there, then somebody
tell me because Big Tim will be taking it if
that's the case.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
But I just didn't know that was a thing.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I mean, And I don't want I don't want to
disparage the autocare industry because of the lot of honest
people out there. But up until I was about twenty five,
when I went to get my oil change, i'd call
my dad when they were like, hey, they say they
want to change out the engine. Dad, out the engine.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
You need light bulb fluids?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah right. I mean, I'm I'm a sort of intelligent guy,
you know, and I know a little bit about a
little bit, but like I don't. I'm like, Dan, I
don't know, what do you think? Like they said the
oil thing is or they say the oil filters messed up, like, oh,
it's fine.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Wait they did that to dudes though I thought it
was a girl thing.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Oh no, because I think the whole game is an
up charge, right, Like they want you to spend more,
and so they'll show you stuff.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
But I don't know, and I just don't know enough.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
And then I start to doubt myself because obviously this
guy knows more than I do, you know. So he's
shown me the thing and I'm like, oh, Avi, that
doesn't look right, Like I don't know what it's supposed
to look like though, because I didn't put it in myself,
you know. But and I think, so, yeah, it wasn't
until not that long ago in my adult life that
I finally just started saying no or yes or or
taking it someplace where I know they're going to tell
(03:59):
me the truth, because I honestly I'm calling my dad.
I don't want me ask my dad. Look at me like,
you're six foot five, bro, you don't know what you're doing.
I'm like, I really don't know what I'm doing.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
I just fake it the whole time, Like I'm like,
I act like I know what I'm talking about. Yes,
so I'm like I'm like, oh, yeah, no, that actually
doesn't need to be replaced, but thank you.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
And they're like looking at me. I'm looking at them.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I'm like, oh, you want to get out of the
car with like a like a Car and Driver magazine,
you know what I mean, Like get out of the
car in a full overall outfit like it says like
you know Joe's mechanic, Like yeah, you know. I'm just
I didn't feel like it today. I want you guys
to do it. And then all of a sudden, oh,
she knows what she's talking about.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
It right right. I fake it all the way.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Never never get the air filter, never get it replaced
by them, Okay, because you could go to AutoZone. Okay,
go to it and get it for one hundred times cheaper. Really,
they charge you so much money and too in solid
to and all it is is.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Two clips like you should you should know your car?
Speaker 4 (04:54):
I mean right, I'm just saying, yeah, the Knights and
Big Tim would take care of this stuff for you.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I don't know if he knows cars. No he doesn't.
We will be in there looking.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
But like that's the thing. It's basically so if I, like,
I was dating somebody once and she was working, and
so I took her card back during the day because
I had the date, and I went and got her
oil changed, and basically we came down to which one
of us is going to overpay because neither one of
us know what the hell we're talking about. So it's
like which one of us is going to get taken advantage?
I guess, I guess it'll be me. And so you know,
(05:23):
because because she she didn't know any more or less
than I did. I just did it to be nice
because she was working and didn't have time.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Because there's also some shady ones out there. Because I
went for Jess's car, her minivan, I changed the air filters.
I changed all the filters on there, and then she'll
take it to the to the oil change place and
then they'll be like, look it's I'm like, it's not like,
it's not dirty. None of it's dirty. Like even if
they show you anything, it's a brand new filter in there.
They've tried to show her like a dirty one, like
this is your filter. She's like, that's not my fil
(05:53):
She's like, yeah, right, this is not my filter.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
And again, yeah, not trying to disparage because again they're like,
I think Mike's probably very honest.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Your partner too honest. I would say yes, take your card.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
America literally offering, and then he still goes, yeah everybody.
I won't be too specific, but it's kind of like
there are contractors that are like this too. There's a
there's a why am I blanket on? The guy's name?
The uh, the Chicago comedian that everybody. He does a
whole bit about contractors where he had a contractor in
(06:29):
his house and like Sebastian, come here, come here. Yeah,
you see that in the wall. That's a bow in
the wall. You see that it's not even straight. I mean,
we can leave it I mean, if you want, but
like that's how that's what happens. Like I go to
the you know, these different places where I don't know
what I'm talking about, and they're like, oh, you look,
you want to leave it like that? Like I mean
you could, I guess if you're want of those kind
(06:51):
of people, you know, but like I don't know if
I would, or we could just tear the whole thing
down start over from oh yeah we better tear Oh
you better, Oh we better place safety is, oh we
better replace that. And again a lot of people out
there wouldn't do that, but I tend to be the
one that gets upsold because I don't know what the
hell I'm talking about and I really just like I
don't want to have to deal with this ever, Like okay,
just do it, just do it. But I'm probably capable
(07:14):
of getting on YouTube and doing it myself. Yeah, ultimately,
I'm just too lazy.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Oh no, you know me. You want me to take
my car, are you? Yeah? No, no, no, he's he's
done stuff to Mike change. I can do all changes.
I rotation. Wait until you start your up charge again.
You're just see him the other day.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I my little fob like needed a battery and I couldn't,
for the life of me, find where the battery was.
This guy comes in here with like a loop, you know,
we put the He had like a magnifying gsst it.
I mean, he had like this toolbox. He was in
here doing surgery on this fob. Man. I mean, and
you know, Rufio, we couldn't stop until the job was done.
I mean it took hours, but he got it done.
(07:59):
Man ar like seventy five dollars, But I'd be I
thought it was a pretty good deal.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
It's nothing but the deals. It was gonna deal.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
She bought it do one hundred and fifty, so I
gave him his seventy five. Yeah, I don't want to
owe this man. Yeah, I thought it was a deal.
He takes venmo every
