I just wanted to do this story because I was
just wondering as I read the story, like, at what
point did nobody say, like, I think this is a
bad idea. And I think we've all probably had the
thing happen where we tried to do the dumb thing
and we injured ourself. I mean, can you you could
probably all of you in the room think of a
time where you're like, I'm gonna take this short cut

or I'm gonna do this thing and it could go
really badly, but it's like real quick, like I don't know,
using something dole to cut something, or you know what
I mean, or like tyings. In this case, a Utaw
woman says that she's still able to walk down the
aisle a day after she was tossed from a mattress
in a pickup truck. Right now, how does this happen? So?

(00:44):
Her name is Lydia. Her now husband Alex, which I
don't even know why she married this man because he
allowed her to do this. They were trying to transport
a king sized mattress to their new home in April,
the day before their wedding. The day before their wedding,
and so they decided that the best way to hold
the mattress down was for Lydia to lay on top
of it. Well, the truck was traveling down the road

at fifty miles an hour, so as as one might imagine,
could happen, the mattress then shifted, propelling her into the
middle of the road. She was able to get out
of the way of oncoming traffic. She got road rash
and knocked out her two front teeth. Oh girl, no,
but next day was the wedding and the show must
go on. So she got married like that a new

word of what happened to the mattress, or you know,
if they got a new one or whatever. But that's
one of those things where you're like, Okay, I got it,
I got it. You're gonna just lay on top of it,
weigh it down, and everything will be fine. We don't
have any rope, this fine baby, just lay down on
that thing. Yeah. I'm sorrying to wonder if maybe he
didn't want to marry her, he had a plan. Wow.

But I mean, I'm trying to think of something I've
done like that that's just really stupid. Nothing quite that dumb.
But I think we've all probably transported something in an
automobile that was too big or too bulky. I think
I've tied a mattress to a top of a car before.
I think I have done that. I've done with the
mattress on top of the car and everyone has a
hand out, you know. Yeah, it has a hand out
the window, four hands holding the match. That's what you

need to be. No, I've done that one. I've definitely
done that one.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
There's a famous Friends episode where the delivery costs for
a couch is like double the prices of the couch.
That's the pivot episode, and so Ross and Rachel are
trying to carry it up their apartment stairs and completely
ruin the new couch just to avoid the fee.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Oh yeah, I've probably done something like that, damaged something
because I was too cheap to get someone else to
do it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
I move myself like and broke in a million things
and myself trying to carry a couch too.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Yeah, I know, I've been like too cheap to take
stuff to the dry cleaner, so I'm like, I can
handle this, and then I shrink it and ruin it.
That's not really the same. But I think I've also
been famous for like I don't have the right tool
for the job, so I just use like whatever i've
got and that usually you know, winds up with some
form of it. Yeah right right, Like this isn't made

(03:06):
for this, but let me try it, let me just see,
and then you know, I wind up hurting myself somehow.
But I just want to know, like what the I
mean really, like, baby, the weddings tomorrow, just hop on
top of his mattress. We're gonna need this and everything's
gonna be fine. But anyway, so the wedding photos will
be memorable. Yeah, I got no teeth. Teeth, You've got
a road brush all over her. So how'd you get that? Well,

I was surfing on a mattress down the highway fifty miles.
