(00:21):
finally here, this five K that I supposedly been training for,
but then I went on a treadmill yesterday and it's
not looking good. It's you know, cause it's one of
those things where we agreed to do this for Leuri
Children's Hospital for the brain tumor programs run for GUS
Diversity Harbor next Thursday, one O three five kiss fm
dot com to get signed up Team Fred one word
ten bucks off your registration. But way back when this
(00:44):
was suggested by getting in the personal trainer, that getting
in the torture, when he was like, oh we're gonna
run a five K, that was like three months ago,
and I got all gung ho about it. Jason, get
us shirts, Get call Amy with her right, get us
branded shirts. We're gonna run a five k. This is
so exciting. Well now it's happening and I don't now
I know, we have shirts though, we got the cool
cool shirts.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
We have shirts.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Okay, good. I wanted to get to this though, for
the second night in a row. For those people who
live I mean really kind of the rough Chicagoland, but
in the city especially, I think it's most jarring. I mean,
the severe weather's jarring no matter what. But we're not
used to hearing the tornado sirens in the loop, like
in the city. Caitlin and I live down here and
we're hearing these things. And we both live in a
(01:25):
high rise. So I mean there's there was wind and
noise I have I can honestly tell you in fourteen
years living in a high rise, I heard noises last
night I've never heard before. And what did I do? Nothing?
I did absolutely nothing. There's there's tornado sirens going off.
My phone's like, hey, you're about to die, just to
heads up and you know, seek shelter, go to the
(01:47):
basement and whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
And what did I do?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I mean I literally was surrounded by glass windows and
I'm like, you know what, I'm just going to go
to bed. And because I can't. This cannot interfere with
my sleep. There's only so many hours, and let you
used to take the wheel. I mean, if this is it,
at least I'll be asleep. You know, But is there
anything more Fred show than that? I just went to bed, Kaylin,
just went to bed. You just said, you know what,
(02:10):
forget about it.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I mean getting woken up by that is very jarring.
That sound.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
But yeah, no, listen, maybe if it happened earlier, better
with my schedule, I would have done something. But yeah,
I was already in my pajamas, I'd washed my face already,
I'd brush my teeth, which doesn't stop me from doing
really anything after that. In fact, I usually brush my
teeth and then eat something else, so that that happens
all the time. Paulina, what did you do as the
tornado sirens are going off? But I don't This is
not advice that I'm not advising anyone, but don't do.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
What we did. Jason was in if you have a basement.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
No, I was in my badroom with my dogs on
my bad with the door closed.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I don't know what that was.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Going to do, but yeah, the door close would have
saved you right, I'm really glad you closed the door.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Couldn't get in from the home depots door, the tornado
couldn't get in.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
And then I was watching obviously WGN to tell me
what's going on.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I was just watching it come to me.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Was just oh, and Mike decided to just be outside, so.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
He went outside.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, he's on the front porch, I guess, waiting for
the tornado. And then he decides he hears sirens, so
he wants to get in the car and drive and
see what's going on.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
He's a storm chaser.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Now, yeah, he spent more time outside during the tornado
warning than inside.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
And that sounds about it, right, Yeah, yeah, okay. And
then Kik, I was the same as Jason. I was
in the room with the door closed. Now what bothered
me is that the dog, Like I got this dog
to be like my alarm, you know, to protect me.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
A little sposed.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Man.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Yeah yeah, this man was stretched out like feet out
just wait. He didn't care at all. And I'm in
the covers, just like, well, this is it.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
We about to go? So I just sat there too.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I really thought maybe this last night, really I was like,
this is potentially not good. At what's happening right now?
Speaker 4 (03:54):
And I kept watching the ring camera, like watching the
wind outside my house, watching stuff blow up.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
I kept looking out the window like I would like
look out the window like somehow, I like, I'm gonna
know what's going on, and like see it come in
to call it right and oh, looks like about three minutes.
Let me just hop in the elevator. Yeah, I mean,
what am I gonna do?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Rundown? I mean it's just like whatever. Yeah, we're idiots.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
I mean it was like, get off your phone, you know,
charge your phone before the lights cut off. So I
plugged in the charger, but I kept scrolling and then
I started screen recording my ring camera footage because I
was like, hey, if I survived this, I want people
to see what was outside the house for you too.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
So you're going to make sure that you can like
submit some the CNN exactly.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
So yeah, that's what I did, Okay, true idiot.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, Well I would have thought Jason would have followed
all the rules, like stood in the doorway and you know,
done all the stuff you're supposed to do.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
It's no surprise he did. Worry.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah, but he closed the door. So the tornado can't
get in. No, no, Yeah, it'll be fine. Fred Show's
on Good Morning
