Speaker 1 (00:02):
I've ever been left waiting by the phone. It's the
Fred Show, Alex Thiss, Good morning, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
How are you hi? Good morning?

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
You know what, we are so glad to have you.
So far.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
I'll tell you about fifteen minutes and we're still glad
to have you. But let's what's going on with this guy, Dave?
Tell us how you met, about any days that you've
been on and why you think you're being ghosted?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Well, okay, so we've actually met on Hinge and we
were texting a lot, and he asked me out to
a really fancy dinner, and you know, overall, I thought
we had fun. But I never heard from him again
after we said goodbye, and you know, to be honest,
I'm kind of dying to know why, just because everything
seems so like fun and great, okay, And I guess
I just, you know, maybe it's not like I'm sitting

(00:46):
here wondering if I did anything wrong, but I am
quite curious if maybe he thought there was something that
happened that night that was off putting to him, or
you know, I don't know. I guess maybe I just
thought we had a better time.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Okay, all right, So again, you know, you meet this
guy on a dating app. It's kind of always a
crabshoot about in person chemistry, but you thought you had
it on this one. So you leave in the day
thinking this is great, I finally met somebody who I
want to see again. Because when you match on these
apps and you're chatting and stuff, there's really no way
to know until you actually meet in person if you
think it's going to go anywhere, and you did, and

(01:20):
so you're disappointed to learn that this guy apparently doesn't
want to go out with you again, or that's what
you think at least because he hasn't called you, he
hasn't responded to you, and he's left you onread that's
pretty much it.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah, Like it's just I wish you would just kind
of have communicated with me about anything, you know, regarding
our night or you know, even if he didn't have
a good time or didn't even like me after we
met up, that's fine, but there's really no reason to ghost.
I think I just feel that he should, you know,
he should do right by me, especially if we were
talking for as long as we were on the app,

(01:53):
and we seemed very compatible.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Okay, well, let's see if we can figure this out.
Either he's ghosting you and we hope to find out why,
or something's been going on and we're gonna set you
guys up on another date that we pay for, which
is what we're hoping. So hang on one second and to
play one song and then we'll come back and.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Call Dave a thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Let's see what's up?

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Part two Waiting on a phone two minutes from now
after Subrina Carpenter will do it, stay right here, Fred Show.
Subrina Carpenter on The Fred Show. Hey Alexis Hi, Yeah, Hi,
welcome back. So let's call this guy Dave. You met
on one of the dating apps Hinge I believe, and
he went on a date that you thought went really well,
good chemistry, you had a good time. You expected to
hear from this guy again for another date. He has

(02:32):
not reached out. He also has it responded to you.
So you feel like you're being ghosted. You want to
know why?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I don't really think that's a
horrible thing to want to know, Like why, you know,
why am I being ghosted?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Was?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Did we not have a great time? Like you know
what was off putting?

Speaker 1 (02:48):
All right, well we're about to find out. Right now,
We're gonna call Dave. Hopefully he answers we can talk
to him.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Good luck. Hello, Hi is his Dave? Yes it is Hey, Hey.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Good morning. My name is Fred. I'm calling from the
Fred Show of the morning radio show. I do have
to tell you that we are on the radio right
now and I do need your permission to continue with
the call.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Can we chat for just a second? Do you mind?

Speaker 4 (03:13):
It's actually is Fred? Isn't it sure?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It is? It is? Oh my god, look at me.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I'm I've been recognized, so you might know why we're
calling them. We're calling on behalf of this woman, Alexis
do you know you know? I mean, what happened with
this woman? Because she just described a really successful date
in her opinion, that she went on with you, but
says that she hasn't been able to get a hold
of you. You haven't responded to her, you haven't reached

(03:40):
out for another one.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
What happened?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
This chick has balls? Man? Wow?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Is that the problem that she this chick has balls?
Is that what happened that you were surprised to learn that?
Or is that more of a metaphor. Definitely a metaphor. Okay, well,
what happened? She was running her mouth during the date?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
How was she running her mouth? What does that mean?

Speaker 4 (04:06):
So she was talking in French to the waitress. I
guess she thought that.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
She was slick.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
And she was like, oh, yeah, I'm just using them
for a free meal. Maybe I can get another one
out of it.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Okay, hold on, hold on, let's let's let's back let's
back up for a second. Where did we get to
a land where we're speaking in French to the to
the server? Like, so, okay, so you're at the restaurant
and I don't know, she determines, alexis determined.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I'm white, So I don't know any other languages.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
So well, I think a lot of French people are
white too. But so there's that. But I'm not sure
if that would be the issue.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
But another right over the planet. Okay, So she speaks French.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
She realizes that the server speaks French as well, then,
and so they start talking in French.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Is that what happened?

Speaker 4 (04:57):
I don't know. I don't know if they knew each
other or what.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
But yeah, I'm just trying to figure out where the
French came into this. But so so she's talking to
the server in French, and do you speak French then,
or how did you know that? How did you know
that she was saying to the server then she just
wanted free food?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Oh yeah, I'm almost fluent in French and I'm flouent
in Spanish as well. I keep it on the down low, though,
so that for situations like this, I mean, usually it's
more appropriate.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
At work, but that is an interesting party trick is
not to tell someone that you speak a language and
then when they start speaking it, then it's like, oh,
now I know what they're saying. Let me bring Alexis
into this day. I forgot to mention that Alexis is here.
I'm very forgetful Alexis. Why first of all, why are
you talking smack about him to the server and then

(05:43):
calling us trying to get another date? Like if you
were were you just trying to get another free meal?
Is that what this is?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
All? Right?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Well, it's sorry I living here.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Okay, So when I was talking to the waitress, you know,
before he arrived, I actually realized that me and the
waitress had a lot in common just basically because we
spoke French together and at the end of the meal,
she asked me, you know, in French, how day was going,
And you know, to be honest, I guess maybe I

(06:19):
wasn't as nice about Dave in our conversation together, and
I guess I feel bad about that now. But okay,
so I must have just been joking in turn when
I said I'm going to keep him around for a
free meal, because obviously I wouldn't do something like that.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
So you don't remember saying that, but you but he
says you said that in French.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Then he speaks to Okay, well again, I I don't
remember saying it exactly like that. I feel like it
was said more out of turn, like kind of jokingly.
But you know, I feel bad because that's obviously the
way that you know, Dave took it, and I, you know,
I want to be that guy.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
I mean, that's how anybody would take it when you
say in a foreign language in front of someone that
you're only out with them to eat for free. So
you said that, but then but then you're calling us
to try and work this out, so you go out
with him again. So again I'm gonna ask the question,
are you just trying to get free food here? Because
you told the server that you didn't like the guy,
but now you're telling.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Us you like him, all right, you know?

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
So I personally, I think this is a little bit
of you know, being a little too one sided here again, Like,
I was just having a nice conversation with a waitress
and one.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
When you called the radio to make me look like
an ass I'm little did you know? I already knew
that you were the asshole?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I thought we were being silly.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
I mean, I mean, way is summon up right there, Dave.
I gotta be honest with you. This woman was talking
smack about you in a language she didn't think you
could understand you in fact, did understand it. She said
she wanted free food, which she got, and then she's
calling us crying, going, hey, what happened here? Why won't
you call me again? Well, it's because you said that
you were using him. You said that in front of him,

(08:03):
and you just didn't think that he knew. So, I mean,
I guess I wonder why you're surprised, Alexis Well, you
know what.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Again, I was just saying that to be funny with
the wages, and you know what, maybe Dave is taking
this a little too personally.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
At this point.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Oh is it you problem, Dave?

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I figured, okay, So, I mean.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
You might speak French, but maybe you don't understand context.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
That's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Oh, I see, so he's dumb. He's dumb and only
worthy of being used for food like I'm getting Alexis.
Come on, you can't say stuff like this and then
expect a positive reaction.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Listen, I'm not trying to like start any problems here.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
I think you don't want have been next to the
radio show.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Maybe you didn't.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
I didn't attack you.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
You could have at least no, no, no, you could
have at least come to me and said, hey, you're
a bit of a brat because I speak French. That
you didn't know that and I didn't care what you
were saying, Like, you could have at least told me that,
but instead you ghosted me, like, and now I'm on
a radio show airing this whole thing, Like, honestly, that's
it's kind of awful of you to.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Be honest enabling a user.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
This is somehow I didn't realize that okay, all right, look, Dave,
I'm just going to ask the question. I about asking English,
so everyone's clear clear on it. Would you like to
go out with her again? She's saying that she was
tongue in cheek. It was a misunderstanding. It was a joke.
You missed the context of it. Ha ha, you know,

(09:26):
and you're saying no, I think she meant it and
she just didn't realize I knew. So do you want
to give her another chance?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Yeah? You know, I had a great time. We should
do it again sometime.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Well really, well, you know what, I'm not sure. I'm
told at this point.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
What is going on?

Speaker 3 (09:42):
All right?

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Wait, so you were willing to go out with her
again after all this?

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Oh you see, I was making a joke. I didn't
catch that.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Lost humor here.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
To work on the comedy.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
You need to work on the comedy. Two cases together.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
I don't know what else we need to do.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Yeah, okay, there are a lot.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Of other people that are not funny like us.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
So how do you say? I gotta go? In French?
I gotta I gotta go.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Look, Alexis, I'm sorry, I don't know, I don't know,
he said, He said, yes, and then you said no,
but you wanted yes, and.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Then I don't.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
So you guys can work it out on your own,
but I don't think it's going to work out.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Please don't call us. I really Yeah. Okay, you guys,
best elected both of you. This was a complete cluster.
I have no idea, but best elected both of you guys. Okay,
thank you, Dave.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Oh yeah, maybe maybe I'll understand that.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Thank good luck.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
