Speaker 1 (00:00):
Calin's entertainer report, he's on the Bread Show.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I have to start out with such a tragic story.
Mariah Carey's mama, Patricia, and sister Allison both died within
hours of each other on the same exact day over
the weekend. In a statement shared with Billboard, Mariah wrote,
my heart is broken that I've lost my mother this
past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my
sister lost her life on the same day. I feel
blessed that I was able to spend the last week

(00:24):
with my mom before she passed. As far as I've seen,
I don't know very specific details. I do know her
mom struggled with some health issues for a while now.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Patricia.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Her mom was a Juilliard trained opera singer if you
didn't know, and a vocal coach. So Mariah very much
followed in her footsteps. TikToker Alex Earl is apologizing after
old screenshots of her using deeply offensive racial slurs online
resurface from about ten years ago. So screenshots of Alex,
who gained this random major fame on TikTok over the

(00:56):
last few years, using the N word on ask Dot
f from twenty fourteen, when she was thirteen and going
by the user alex that's the username with a bunch
of x's showed up on Reddit earlier this month, and
lots of people, including myself, were wondering, Okay, is she
gonna address this? Is she going to say anything? She
kind of kept posting and not really saying anything. She
said though that she didn't need mean to cause any

(01:19):
heart with the comments, stressing those remarks didn't reflect her
views or what she stands for, and ask for why
she didn't speak about it sooner. She said she was
taking advice from others, which she now regrets. She said
by not speaking up sooner, others filled the gap with
false rumors, and even after all that bad stuff being
said online, she makes it clear that she is very
deeply sorry. I don't know what ask dot fm is

(01:39):
you guys?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Remember that?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Oh it must be like a gen Z generation thing.
I've never heard of that.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
You were in my top eight on ask dot fm.
Oh I was the were Oh yeah, just like MySpace.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
But that's fine. I guess you never paid attention. Oh damn,
I'm sorry. What song did you have on your profile?
I'm addicted by simple plan.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Oh yeah, obviously, yeah, what a bank.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
I have no idea what asked that FM.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Just for the record, don't go there and if we
find out it is some terrible website, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I'm never never been there.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
No, But speaking of that genre of music, fans are
convinced that Some forty one front man Derek Whibley is
the new lead singer of Lincoln Park.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Oh please. So this comes.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
After his band took to their social media asking fans
to tune in tomorrow morning for a really big announcement. Now,
at the same time, Lincoln Park has been teasing fans
about an upcoming big announcement That Some forty one tease
got many fans excited, with one writing, holy epping spit,
he's the new Lincoln Park singer, while another said don't
tell me Derek is LP's new singer. For what it's worth,

(02:37):
He's already announced a US book tour supporting his memoir
Walking Disaster, My Life Through Happened and How Out October eighth.
So if true, he may be a busy boy, or
maybe he puts his plans on hold.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
That would be wild.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
I mean he's a good vocalist like Derek is, but
he can't do the screaming parts like Chester.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
No.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Right, So, I mean, Lincoln Park is one of my
favorite bands, and I gotta chell out yeah when they yeah,
when they you know, they made making all these teases.
Obviously there's new music coming, so they need a new
link singer or what.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
This is part of the problem when you try and
replace somebody iconic, right, Yeah, is that even if they're
equally talent or even remotely talented in the same realm.
And I'm not arguing that he is or is him,
but he's not that person, no and so, and there's
no bringing back that person. So it's like it's hard
to do. But then what do you do? Then do
you say to your favorite band, like we'll just stop
making music, don't even try. Yeah? Or sometimes it works

(03:29):
out well, Like you guys are talking about The Fray.
If you know the band the Fray, the ball dude left,
the piano player left the band, right, and then another
band member in the Frey took his spot, and now
they're back on the road and the guy does a
good job.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Right, he was great.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I'm trying to think of other good examples.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Journeys.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
The Filipino dude.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
He does a good job.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
And I also saw and I love Linquinity too, but
I saw them with the other lead singer and it
wasn't as disappointing because he didn't try to do Tom
Delong's voice. But yeah, I can also be really bad.
And the way Chester died is just so tragic. So
we'll see them tomorrow morning. But that that was crazy, And.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Kelly, you make a good point.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I feel like that's what happens, is that people try
and mimic the person who I am replacing as opposed
to making it doing it, you know, within their own
sort of style. Yeah, but it'll be easy to do because,
especially like an iconic band like Lincoln Park, you've been
listening to the music for you know, decades, it'd be
hard to step in and not try and sound like
the song that you the songs you've been listening to

(04:24):
for so long.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, I mean, I know some bands use like emo
bands use a separate screamer, a separate dude to scream,
So maybe they'll do that.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I have no idea, but we'll find out.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
I can see them using a female singer. They went
viral Mike went viral TikTok. He was doing like a
collab with the lead singer of another band, but she
was female and she was killing it.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, that would be cool.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Right, So we'll see what happens, And if you want
to catch up on anything with our show on social
you can do so. Fred Show Radio on Instagram and Twitter,
as well as The Fred Show TikTok.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
All right, cans back everybody, uh stairgo, We'll do it next. Well,
debate some relationship drama blogs before that. Kiki is now
on the Paulina train. You swear you invented something. Yes,
before you were able to really capture the credit for it,
but you invented it.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
I wanted to be quiet about it, but you know,
I'm ready to tell my story.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Okay, I'm gonna leave it right there.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
