Speaker 1 (00:00):
About it.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Yeah, they talk better than they These are the radio
blogs on the Fred Show. I almost needed Amy with
a right and top dog and I almost needed uh no,
I needed I needed all them.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
To come with their big megaphone.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Whatever else I almost needed, uh Captain Steve cop I
needed everybody, Keith Morrison, Josh maka which I almost needed
everybody this weekend, uh, dear blog. I went to Dallas
to see my nieces three year old Polly. Well, what
are we saying? Seven month old mayor something like that. Yeah,
(00:39):
that's about right. I mean it's kind of all the
same until they can walk and talk teculary, don't worry
about it, none of your business. Why are you trying
to Why are you trying to get my password hands?
Speaker 1 (00:52):
I try to get my password hands. I'm not gonna
give it to you.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I've alread, I've phoned for this trick before I had
an exit that would do stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Insane.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
She would ask questions what was your first pets name?
She made the mistake of telling me that she did
it so like I never fell for it. But yeah,
it would be like, yeah, what was your high school mascot?
What color? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:10):
What street?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Did you grow up on it's like, how about Nunya,
I go about Nunya.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I'm not going to stand by you boulevard.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
But we all went to dinner and we got in
a ride share and we we arrived at the place
and we get out of the ridechare, and then my
mom about three minutes later is like, oh, I think
I left my wallet in that thing. So on the
ride share there's a thing you can like notify the
driver that you love something. And so then the person
calls us about five minutes later and was like, oh, yeah,
(01:41):
it's here, and my mom couldn't hear in the restaurant,
so my sister was talking to him, and then literally
this this is really how the story went, like maybe
maybe five minutes total.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
And he's like, uh, yeah, I'm gonna bring it back.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
And then my sister hears another person in the background
encouraging the driver on the phone to hold it for ransom.
Why another person's going tell him it's going to cost
him one hundred and fifty bucks so they can't have it.
Tell him you cancel the trip, like prompting this guy
to lie, And so the guy goes, well, I canceled
one hundred and fifty dollars trip right now in order
(02:15):
to bring this to you. So if you want it now,
then you have to pay like implying it. And everyone's like, no,
we're not doing that. No one's telling you have to
do it right now. But now we know you have it,
now we know who you are. Now uber excuse me?
The place now is See I knew I was gonna
do it. It doesn't really matter. The rides here side knows
it's a versus It doesn't matter because there are a
(02:35):
lot of nice rides here people out there, a lot
of probably not so nice anyway. So the person shows
up and my mom's like, go out there and handle it.
So my brother in law and I walk outside. Hell yeah,
and it's it's the driver and another guy now that
he managed to find in the last ten minutes, and
he's holding my mom's stuff and I go, hey, thank you,
And the plan was no joke. My mom goes, oh,
(02:56):
my wall and give the guy forty bucks because he
already gets twenty to bring it back. That's automatically charged
to you by the ride share service. If you leave
something in the car, you're automatically charged by them. So
he was going to get that and another forty and
and so he was gonna get sixty bucks for doing this,
which I thought was pretty good. And by the way,
he was definitely lying about one hundred and fifty dollars.
Trip to him would have been to like l passover right,
(03:20):
like I mean, it's not it didn't happen, Like that's
not true. And so he takes he's got the stuff
in his hands and I walk out there. I go, hey,
thanks man, and he holds it back and he goes,
I'll only deal with the woman and you two have
to go inside. Whoa And I go and then his
buddy's like, yeah, unless you want problems, and I was like,
then I want problems like at this and I had.
(03:40):
I had a few margaritas and Colin, my brother in law,
has a temper. So the two of us were like,
he's irish. Yeah, the two of us were. And that's
why I went out with him. My sister was like,
I need you to go out there with him because
he's going to beat them up. Yes, I would too,
little angry little Colin man death metal still got it
in for I go well that, I go, well, that's
not happening. I go, so, if you need to idea,
(04:00):
I was just saying next to you in the car
and I sat in the front seat. I'm like, but
if you need to see that it's her, that's fine,
but you won't be speaking to her. And he's like,
oh no, well then you can't have it. And he's
holding it and the guy goes next to him goes,
I told you we should have stolen it in front
of us, and I'm like, okay. So then she comes
and walks up my mom and of course tries to
(04:20):
talk it. I'm like, Mom, no words, none, that's her.
Give it to her. So he does, and then he's like,
you owe us one hundred and fifty bucks and I
was like for what and he's like, well, because it's
how much it costs me to bring it to you
because I had to cancel a trip, so one hundred
and fifty bucks are we're going to have problems? And
I was like, oh no, we have a problem right now,
Like you're a thief. And by the way, we're twice
(04:41):
as big as these guys, so I don't know what
they're doing.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
You could tell.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
And then the Uber drivers started to get a little nervous,
and his buddy was egging it on. He was like,
no either, you're like either I know where you're staying
one hundred and fifty bucks are like I know you
know what's going to happen next, and I'm like, well,
I'm staying at a hotel, so good luck. I said, okay,
I said, you know what, no problem, We'll just call
the cops and sort this out.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
And then they started getting a little nervous.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
They're like, oh, you won't handle it yourself, you know whatever,
like getting in our face like oh, you got to
call the cops. And I'm like, yeah, because you're trying
to shake us down because you're a thief, right, because
you're a thief, and you're also trying to intimidate us.
I don't think it's the Right Shares policy if you
go pick up your buddy to scam people. I'm like,
so this can go really well or it can go
really poorly. Out of a job in five minutes. Right,
(05:26):
I'm like, I'm going to report this already, So like,
I recommend you guys get going, And they were trying
to be tough, and then finally I think the main
guy got nervous and they got in the car and
drove away. I will say, I don't expect said ride
share service that I would never mention. I don't expect
them to tell us they're going to fire this person.
But their response was, here's your twenty bucks back. We'll
(05:48):
make sure your driver understands the policy in the future.
And I wrote back and said no. I said, you know,
I think you need to do a lot more than that,
because quite frankly, if my mom had been by herself,
I don't know what would have happened, because she would
have gone out there to get her wallet, and then
who knows, she may have been intimidated and then given
the money, or if this happens to someone else, or
(06:08):
god forbid that these guys picked someone up at their home.
I mean, who's to say that. I don't know what
these guys are capable of doing, but it was so
stupid and not well thought out, but also relatively like,
I can see in a different situation how this would work.
So I'm pretty sure it's not their policy to go
shake down customers using you know, And if he was
so busy getting other rides, where'd the other guy come from?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, ye had time to go pick up his boy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
The other thing is he saw who he dropped off.
He dropped off two large men. You know. It's like,
I don't know what you were I don't know what
you were thinking. And again my first crime, right, And
I was just like, I'm like, I was just about
to give you sixty bucks, which is what you would
have made on this one hundred and fifty dollars trip.
You claim that you just skipped, but instead you tried
to steal, you know, and you just admitted to being
(06:55):
a thief on top of that.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I'm like, so, no, I'm not going to help you.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
But anyway, I only bring this up not a bag
on that industry or that company or whatever.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
I hope that they do a little more than that.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
But I say this because apparently there's something we got
to you got to look out for. Make sure you
have all your stuff, and sadly, there's you know, a
small percentage of people out there that will try and
take advantage of you in anything. I know a lot
of rideshare drivers listen to us, and most I'm sure amazing,
but yeah, I mean I would I would tell you
that if you leave something, uh in the car, and
(07:25):
you have any question about who's coming back to give
it to you that you know, I don't know, call
the cops or get a friend or a neighbor or something,
because honestly, this could have ended very differently if it
had been my sister buyers. I don't mean to say
like women would be preyed upon, but my mom would
have been likely to probably be a little intimidated by
these two mission money, and she probably would have just
(07:45):
done it to get him to go away. And it's
a crime and it's wrong, right, and I didn't like him.
I wish I could have been there for oh man, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
You would have stitd behind me. You would be unn Yeah,
why wait my day more for the show next
