Wow, we were having an off air conversation and that
came real quick, real quick.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Sometimes we got to talk on the air. Yeah, this
is the job, right.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah, sometimes I forget that I was, but I was
enthralled in what you were talking about about etiquette, and
so I was distracted.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
And I'll add it to my list of things. We
talked about it before. But I think it's a generation
but we're talking about gift giving and it's a generational thing.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Yeah, I didn't know. I looked up etiquette for baptisms yesterday.
I didn't know what I was supposed to do. Same,
So I gave cash. That's what I did. That's the
greatest gift of all time. I said, this is for
her college fund.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I know we can come back to it probably tomorrow,
but like it's my mom is of the generation that
you give gifts, the wedding gifts. Yeah, and what she
doesn't understand is that people don't really want that anymore.
And I understand that there's also that generation. Giving cash
is rude. Getting money to loved ones is rude. It's
not really all that thoughtful. But the reality is I

find most people our age and younger would rather you
just give them money.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I always thought gifts were for the shower, you know,
that's what you register for. And then but I don't know,
And you also didn't you say it was like a
southern thing too.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I really don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
But it's like, I guess, it gets a little tricky
when you're giving money to like an infant, you know,
like for example, I gave a gift to someone and
then they commingled the funds. They like, hey, can you
sign this over or no, no, there was I opened
an account and put money in it, and then they
commingled the funds.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
My boyfriend yesterday was like, I never saw any of
my baptism money.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
I'm like, you did it. I got mine, like my
little bonds.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah. I mean, honestly, I'm not enticed. I shouldn't really
be entitled to anything. That was no raising twenty once
since they paid for college and every day. If you
want to keep the fifty dollars savings and a little
piece of silver whatever, you can have it. But I
guess my thing is I can see you for a baptism.
Why you would give money, because it's if it all

goes into an account for her. And even if it's
like five hundred bucks now you know, I mean combined
or a thousand or whatever all the guests combined to give.
Then once she turns eighteen, that's gonna be more.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yes, you know, I'm grateful for whatever, and I'm very
honest about that.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Like a gift is a gift, so thank you.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
There's envelope or a plate of food cookies, Like I
won't take any gift Like that is very sweet and
it's all for the baby, and I appreciate it, but
I think it doesn't really matter, right, Like would you care?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
No, I wouldn't care either. But like when when you
do get married, like you have to realize that I
have to do something with that gift, Like I have
to try to pack that away, Like I got a
table full of gifts, so boxes.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I'm like, we'll send you to the house.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah. I think you also have to sort of read
the room too. And if someone's very very young getting married,
they might want or just want a house, and they
might want actual stuff because they don't have anything. If
I get married, you don't know, he needs to buy me,
you know, a plate or something, because I have it.
I have a plate.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
You have one plate.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I have one.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
I noticed that I.

Might need another one for her.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Right in her own house, right right?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Well that's true, right, so yeah, maybe she will need
some things all one story.

It was like the red lights blinking at me.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Will Smith is never going to live down his Oscars
slap because it was brought up at the Emmys last
night for no reason.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Really, he wasn't even involved.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
But Slow Horses creator also named Will Smith, won the
Emmy for writing the show, and when he got to
the mic, he couldn't help but mention the other Will saying,
first of all, relaxed despise.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Despite my name, I come in peace.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Even though that was years ago, people still thought it
was really funny.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
A lot has obviously happened since then.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
And just speaking of the Emmys Real Quick, the Bear
Hacks Showgun Big Winners Morning Show, The Crown, that reality
competition show, The Traders, Baby Reindeer, the woman who played
Martha one for Best Supporting Actress.
