Speaker 1 (00:02):
Never been left waiting by the phone.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's the Fred Show, Austin. Good morning, Hey, good morning,
Welcome to the show.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
This is waiting by the phone, of course, trying to
figure out why you got ghosted, or or seems that
way at least. So explain to us how you met Becky,
about any dates that you've been on, kind of fill
us in on the backstory and what's happening now.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, absolutely so. We I was on the app and
we met on Bumble and honestly, we talked for a while,
and you know, we we were texting and we would
talk on the phone, and I.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Was really exposed to, like, you know, get together and
meet in per person. We finally like set up a
date to meet in person, and she just kind of
ghosted me. And I'm not sure why she sent me up.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Okay, so you never met then, like you were just
chatting and then the date never happened even.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah, no, we like, like I said, we were having
fun and and yeah, she just out of nowhere stopped
talking to me.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
And I'm I'm your guys as good in mind why
we stopped talking?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Wow, Because I guess it's one thing if you meet
in person and the date doesn't go well, you do
something weird or something strange happens. That's one thing, but
you're saying never, you guys never even met, like she
just disappeared from communication.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, out of the blue. Wow. Okay, Well, let's call
this woman, Becky.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
We'll see if we can get her on the phone
and ask some questions and see what's going on, see
why she disappeared. Hopefully we can straighten things out. Set
is up on a date, the first date in this case,
you can meet and we'll pay for that.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
All right, I'm gonna play one song. We'll come back
and do it. Can you hang on? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Absolutely, Let's see what happens next. Part two of waiting
by the phone. You've got to hear it in two
minutes after Sabrina Carpenter Frend's Show, Sabrina Carpenter, it's the
Frend Show on the radio and the iHeart app anytime
search put a Freends show on demand. Hey, justin Yeah,
welcome back. Let's call Becky. You guys met on bumble,
you chatted for a while, planned a date, but the

(01:53):
date never happened because she ghost to you before you
could even go out. Yeah, that's weird. We don't hear
about that very often. But let's call Becky. We'll see
if we can figure this out and straighten things out
for you. Good luck, Thank you. Hello, Hi is this Becky? Yes, Becky,

(02:16):
good morning Fred from the Frend Show. The whole crew
is here. Sorry to bother, but I do have to
tell you that we are on the radio right now
and I would need your consent to continue with the call.
Can we chat for a minute on the show?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Oh my gosh, okay.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Thank you, that's a yes, Thank you very much. We're
calling on that half of this dude I named Justin,
who I guess you met on Bumble. You chat it
with Justin a little bit, maybe talking about going on
a date that never happened.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Well that's not what I was expecting. I really, I
can't believe I have to talk about this guy.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Are you for real?

Speaker 1 (02:47):
I'm not sure what you were expecting, but yeah, no,
he reached out to us and told us to be
matched with you. It was excited about the match and
that you guys have been chatting and we're talking about
going on a date and then you disappeared.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
So why no date? What happened?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
I was hoping it was for something else. I guess, Okay, well, yeah,
we met on bumble. You know, I'm not this girl
that like goes out with every guy a match with,
because I really try to avoid like weirdos and I
like to get to know the person a little bit.
This I know what I'm getting into. So we did
talk a little bit leading up to the date.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
But he he.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Called me like right before our date, like right before
we're supposed to meet, and he asked me for gas
money so that he could get.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
To the restaurant. I'd never had that happen before.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
It was so weird, Like I was just flored that
he would even ask for that.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I me, it's almost five dollars a gallon if this true? Yes,
I mean Becky ed spending. He charged you a search charge,
he charged you a date surcharge. You gotta pay him fifteen.
It costs more to get around these days than before.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
It's so ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
How much did he want you to venmo him?

Speaker 5 (04:01):
And he asked me if I could just help him
out with some gas money, you know, ten, fifteen, twenty
dollars whatever so.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
You can get there.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Though, Like, how was he going to pay for the date,
or what you anatually is going to pay for the date?

Speaker 5 (04:12):
Yeah, I mean I don't want to date someone that
I have to support financially.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
So that would have been nice.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
To know ahead of time.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
You got to put your best foot forward on a
first date, and that is not doing that. Let me
bring justin and I forgot to mention the justice here.
You you failed to attention to us that you asked
for gas money. I mean, I guess it'd were you
going to go pick her up? Or was this just
for you to get there?

Speaker 5 (04:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
You know I did. I did ask her.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Was it was for me to get there?

Speaker 4 (04:42):
But I was in my mind, in my defense, I
was like.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
In your mind, I was saving the money for I
was saving the money for the dinner.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
So and I realized, oh no, I was got yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Okay, so we're balling on a budget over here, which
you know, that's all right, but you gotta don't you
have to take that into consideration when you're date, especially
when you first meet somebody. I mean, when you first
meet somebody, don't you want to plan something that you
can afford so that you can go. I mean, because
if the very first thing that you do is ask
her for money that doesn't send a very good he's paying.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
For the whole dinner. Would you rather him ask, hey,
you want to split this dinner?

Speaker 4 (05:20):
And then you know she ends up paying like neither
seventy dollars instead of paying only you.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I would say splitting a dinner is probably more justifiable
than asking for gas money.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
And I don't. I don't do it.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
When I ask somebody out, I pay even if it
doesn't go well. That being said, if if I'm already
asking for money and we've never even met, I mean,
come on, yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
You're supposed to like act like you're not, you know,
your best version of yourself.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Have you done this before?

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Justin have you have you asked women to give you
money before you even meet?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
I listen, I'll be honest.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I've done it once or twice.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
But it's not like I'm not showing up at the like.
If I wasn't showing up at the date, then that's
one thing.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Well that's called stealing. That's called theft, so that that's
called the scam. Oh exactly right, So you're not scamming people,
so that makes it okay? Then?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Right? Well, I told her I was getting paid.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
I got paid the next day, and I you know,
I set it back.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
And well, why don't you dischedule the date for the
next day. How about you how about this from moving forward?
Schedule your dates on pay date. Yeah, I mean you
have a problem again. Yeah, I think that's reasonable. That's
what I'm saying. It's like or you know, yeah, I mean,
if it's only twenty four hours, you could have had
the date the next day. You would have been fine.
You wouldn't have had to ask her for money. And
then down the road, if you know, if you're tight,
if budget's tight, and she really likes you, then maybe

(06:40):
you start doing things that aren't as expensive.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Like driving.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
And you weren't even going to pick her up. You know,
I guess at least cold pick her up if she's
paying for the gas in.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
The car on her dime. Yeah, fair, Okay, Becky. So
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
It sounds like dude maybe had good intentions, but it
didn't come off right. You know, he's a tinder swindler.
His enemies are coming after him, all of his bank
accounts are frozen. He needed you to send money for guests.
But he's actually a millionaire he's very, very wealthy this guy.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Sure, sure, it felt like that, it felt like he
was wealthy.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
I'm really just not interested in dealing with that anymore.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
It's great, okay, justin. I'm sorry, man, not a good move.
But best of luck to you. Okay, thank you, thank.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
You, Becky for your time. Good luck out there.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
I'm a big fan of the show, so thanks for
calling me. I wish it was for something else, though,
maybe next time, something.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Else, Yeah, maybe maybe next time. Okay, thank you, Okay,
