Speaker 1 (00:00):
Orders a fresh show.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's Kiki's court, all right, tall rise, the Honorable Kiki
Leak is here. Judge Kiki please, if you would, yes, yes,
I am here. Yeah, that means go okay, sure, let
me hit the take away. I think I think if
you if you would, that means oh, okay.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
I was waiting on a bunch of lines.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
But here we are. We are in the by the way.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
By the way, Kiki, I think part of the reason
that you're she just told us about ten seconds from
before it went on the air that she has to peek.
Now we've had twenty minutes. We had twenty minutes, okay,
twenty minutes with which to pee. But now she's she
can't even focus on the task of the hand because
she has to pee so badly. But she got her
(00:47):
only once a week, does she ever? Well, twice a
week a name segment to prepare for yees. Yeah, so
you got two jobs.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
I just got lost in the sauce man the moment
the show.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
So Captain, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Right there with you. I gotta go too, So let's
go out.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Let's not understand if you want to hold your all,
sit here for a few minutes while you go.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah, it's all right, it's all right, okay, all.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Right, Kiki, if you would please begin your segment.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Now, please all right, he said, Hey, Kik, my name
is Derek. I'm a longtime Fred Show listener, and I
love all of you guys. About a month ago, one
of my best friends got into a terrible motorcycle motorcycle accident.
It left him banged up pretty bad and unable to
work to support his family. As a way to help,
my friends and I created a GoFundMe page to help
(01:35):
him with medical bills and expenses. We set a goal
of fifty thousand dollars. I personally donated fifteen hundred dollars.
It was just my luck that after I donated the money,
my car broke down. But anyway, I kept an eye
on the go fundme page, and by the end of
the week there was almost eighty five thousand dollars in donations.
(01:57):
I was so happy to see all of the support
from my friend. However, now that my car is down,
I could really use that fifteen hundred that I donated,
so I text my buddy and asked if he can
send me my donation back. Since we raised more than
enough money, to help him. I sent that text last Monday.
(02:18):
Since then he has left me on red with no response.
Am I wrong? If I reach out to go fund
me to see if there's a refund option, you can't.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
You can't. You can't. I mean you can't. You can't.
Bruh right, judge right, Derek?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
What is wrong with you?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (02:41):
What is wrong with you?
Speaker 4 (02:42):
You cannot be out here asking for takebacks on a
donation like life comes at you fast.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I understand your car is now.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
You can really use some money, create your own go
fund me page, But you cannot ask this man who
is on the sick and shut in list to send
back the little money that you gave him. That is
insane And if I was his friend, I wouldn't respond.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I don't even know.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
How to respond, like, yes, I thank you for helping
me get this money raised and looking out for me,
but like you want me who?
Speaker 3 (03:14):
I don't know when I'm going back to work. You know,
I don't know if I can walk.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
You want me to send you the money that you
donated to me?
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Like what? Oh God?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
No, you cannot get a refund on a Derek GoFundMe.
You cannot Derek said, I need a bag. You cannot
go to the person who's right to your point, He's
like unable to function properly. I can't work, can't move.
You can't go to that person and go, yeah, yeah,
hey my car. I mean I need I need that
money back. You can't do that.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
That is insane. I mean, okay, let's look at it
from Derek's angle. We were trying to get you fifty thousand, right,
we raised you over eighty five thousand. Yeah, so really,
I mean, but still Rufiola.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Asking for help like he his friend would not have
any money if it wasn't for Derek and his other
friends putting his goalfundme together. Right, sure, they raised more
than enough money, and he's just asking for help back
like he's, you.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Know, like he's got the money.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
He got eighty five thousand, but if he's to make
a milk called fifty thousand, he's still got them extra dough.
He's just asking for fifteen hundred to help fix his car.
He's in he needs some help now. I mean, but
here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
He put in fifteen.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Hundred of money that you know, that's whatever, Like he
put that money in and then now he doesn't have
money to fix that.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
But here's the thing. Here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
If yeah, I think it's very nice that he gave
apparently all the money he had to help his friend.
I do think that's a very nice thing. But I
think we also need to be a little bit self
aware and realize that if we don't have any money,
or if we don't have a lot of money and
we have nothing left for emergencies of our own, then
we probably shouldn't give it all away. Again, very generous
(05:01):
of him, but that's what happens, unfortunately, is you gave it,
you help someone else out, and now you need help
and you're gonna have to figure out another way because
you cannot get them. Just go and say, hey, person,
I just helped I need that. You know that thing
I helped it, whatever, whatever thing I bought for you,
or whatever you did with the money you paid, pay
the bill or co pay or whatever, no more, give
(05:21):
it back to me.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
I need it right now.
Speaker 6 (05:22):
But like he gave what he could give at the time,
right fifteen hundred. It's not like he knew his car
was going to break down, like you know, the next week.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Like that just that's just the bad.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Say, if I got fifteen hundred bucks, then I'm probably
giving five hundred and or maybe I'm giving seven fifty
or something, so that I still hang on to something,
so I don't have zero dollars, but all just in case.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
But also he didn't know they were gonna raise. You know,
when you put a golfund me out there, you don't
know how much you're gonna raise. Right, he could have
only raised fifteen hundred dollars that he could be the only.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
One that donated.
Speaker 6 (05:53):
He donated what he could and it just happens that
his car broke down the following week or whatever. He
didn't know that was gonna happen. And to ask his
they're friends, it's not like they're strangers. And he got
he knows how much money he raised. He raised eighty five,
they raised eighty five thousand dollars, fifteen hundred dollars. He's
trying to his friends should help him back, like yo,
no me forget, I'm gonna help you back.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Rufio, the dude almost died. Like he's in a bad
and he's in bad condition.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
He's not.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
That's the last thing he's thinking about is, Oh, let
me make try to refund my friend the money back
that he donated to me to try and help save me.
Like I said the last for him.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
They raised more than enough money, so that fifteen hundred
is going back to his friend shouldn't be a problem.
His Derek and his friends put that golfund me together
to help that guy out, and he raised more than
enough money to help him out.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Financial story. What I'm gonna say it, thank you for
thank you?
Speaker 1 (06:45):
All right?
Speaker 6 (06:46):
You guys hit me out so much, like, thank you,
we raised more than enough money. Here's that fifteen hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
But in my opinion, Roof, he's even wrong for like
watching the golfundme, Like why are you going back and
watching trying to see how much money I'm an get
and then counting my coins and saying, now.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
So you have enough. I decided you have enough. I
need mine back, Like, how do you know what's enough?
You don't know what's enough? You look, the bottom line
is you gave it. You gave it away to help someone.
You cannot now have it back, and you should have
thought about that. Unfortunately, if you again, I think it's
very cool that he gave all the money he had
to help his friend. That's wonderful, but that's also probably
(07:20):
not responsible either, as we're now learning eight five, five, five,
nine one three five, you guys are the jury.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Oh my god, we got so many degrees with thru feeling.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Let's go, hi, guys, I do agree with feel.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
What a line you.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Can't base, you cannot listen.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
They raised way over what they were expecting, and like
life happens, things happen, And I'm just saying, like if
one of my friends were in that bind, I would
give them the money back.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Okay, but that would be up to the person I
guess in question, and that person right now is not
really thinking about your broken car. That the person is
thinking about trying to heal and they maybe don't even know.
They may don't even know how much money is in
the go fund me or even how to get it,
or they may not even transfer to you. I would
imagine that's the least of their worries right now. And
you're going, hey, the door is broken, I need the money.
(08:22):
Come on.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
You could know. But it's not sad. But like, if
that's a real good friend, she would give I would
give the money back.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
That's all I'm saying. My god, Oh so I.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Should get my fifteen hundred back because you're because you
got your second chance at life. Oh my god, who's here?
You know what, if anything ever happens to me, don't
donate it. Just don't don't donate anything like never keep
your money. Don't worry, don't worry.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
I don't think you be accepted donations on your behalf,
like you know.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Just for myself, right, And then he'll be like, well,
but you got a second chance on life, so I
get this money. Idiot, man, you have a good day, Kiki,
like judge, Kiki, we cannot, you cannot.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
You cannot. First of all, it's tacky, Okay, it's tacky
if you are so hard up for cash, bro, I'm
sure it's other people in your life that you can
go ask, except for this man who has been through
the trauma, who doesn't know if he's going to be
able to work to provide for his family, and you
trying to like you That is just so crazy to me.
Like you know, I'm down for like watching people pockets
(09:35):
a little bit sometimes and being like, you know, hey,
let me get it, let me get some of that.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
But not a man on crutches, like, that's insane.
Speaker 6 (09:42):
I think he just worded it wrong. He shouldn't be like,
let me get my donation back. He'd just be like, hey,
can I borrow I need some help? Right? Can I
borrow fifteen hundred?
Speaker 3 (09:52):
How is that?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (09:55):
No, no, no, you can't even stay with a straight
face through for you. Hey, Melissa, Hi, good morning.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Melissa, Yes Hi, good morning, Yes Hi, good morning. What
did you want to say?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Okay, this is, first of all, the dumbest thing I've
ever heard.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Why would you give somebody money and then take it away?
Speaker 3 (10:15):
That's one thing, and too, you're.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Not he is not just giving away the fifteen dollars back.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Go fund me takes a portion of that.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
So this man us to now payback what he's.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Gonna lose what he had to give to go fund me.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Does that make sense? Well, but Melissa, he got a
second chance on lock So I just can't with this.
I really can't. And you're right, they take a commission,
so like now to go out of pocket.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Essentially, yes, exactly.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
So now this man is helping this other guy out
with extra money from his pocket, then he might make
for Oh no, I do profn after this conversation.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Thank you, Melissa, have a good day, Yeah, thank you?
Speaker 3 (11:11):
I mean holiday is coming up.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
You like to ask this man for the money back, Like,
out of all the people in your life that you
can go get fifteen hundred dollars from, come on, bruh.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
What come on?
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Like he knows he's got the money and that's the problem.
You can't.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I've said it like four times.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
It's so nice that he gave everything he had, Like
it's a very nice thing to do, but it's not
a responsible thing to do. And then this is why,
because life happens. And look, you helped your friend. You're
getting camera points for that. Go get a guy I
don't know, figure out another way. Take a loan from
a take another loan from somebody. I don't know what
you gotta do. You gave your money away to help
your friend. You did the thing.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
It's over. It's gone to one way.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
You don't call your friend who's in you know, fighting
for his life, and go hey, I know you can't
really talk through the tubes, but can I get my
money back? I mean, come on on, dude, like, hey Stacy,
good morning.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Hey, good money.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
This man like this this guy I work with him
every day. Listen to this man, can you believe him?
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Okay, I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I'm gonna tell you the truth. I do agree.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
No, he should not get the money back, absolutely not.
You cannot do that.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
But but but I'm gonna tell you. On the Lord
and sat with me and my friend, good friend, I'm
telling you I've set up the page once he set
up to go from me.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
It's like, I'm gonna watch and see how gonna do that, and.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Then I'll do that that way.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
But what if we got it good?
Speaker 5 (12:40):
Truthfully without fifteen I'm like, you still got dudes, like,
well send me, save me.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
You're good.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
You know what I'm saying. So Hey, so I still
got my money and we're both good. But but I
would have.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Never put it in before like I was.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
I'm gonna be a good friend and help you out
with the gold from me page, and then I'm gonna
be a better friend when you don't get nothing, and
then make a donation.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
But what if you've.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Got something if already that was only.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
From fifty thousand, That's.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
What I want to put you over the top.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
I I could see it looking at it and being like, man,
I can't afford to save the day, but I could
afford to do something and then give him something based
on like, if the thing is catching fire, then I
don't need to give all my money, right Like, if
the thing is really taking off, then I don't then you.
I can be generous, but I don't have to give
you everything I have. This person chose to give everything
(13:43):
they had, now they want it back.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
You don't need to do that, good friend.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
You're you're a good friend.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
But we would do and then did some more when
we could.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
We could, you would. I don't need either want of
you to donate.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Just don't.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
If anything ever happens to me, just keep you all money.
I don't know, I don't Stacy. Stacey will call me,
hey friend, why may have given you a few dollars,
But I see you're feeling better, So can I have
it back?
Speaker 1 (14:13):
No, you cannot. Thank you, Stacy, have a good day.
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Okay, Now how about that? What if what if I
make all this money on a GoFundMe. I mean I
make it whatever something bad happened to me, God forbid,
and I get all this money from my GoFundMe, And
then let's say I miraculously recover faster than expected, and
I get back to work.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Do I give all the money back?
Speaker 5 (14:36):
Then?
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Do I have to do?
Speaker 2 (14:37):
I have to go through one by one, start writing
checks everybody who helped me out. Or do I say, well,
I'm gonna have bills and ancillary expenses, so thank you guys.
I do it for you. You know, No, you're not gonna
give it back.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Oh no, And I wouldn't. I wouldn't even post when
I went back to work. They wouldn't know I went
back to work. The next year, I'd be like, I'm
still down a lot of money. You do have people
that will watch your page and watch your progress, like,
m I gave all that money and now they're back
to work, So.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
You know, you gotta wait.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
I've said this so many times over the years about
donating and loaning money and stuff like that, and you
have to I'm sorry, but especially when if it's someone
you value a lot, a friend or a family member,
you have to give the amount of money that you
can afford to give and not look back. Because if
you're giving money and and and the friendship is not
(15:30):
that important to you, or you're gonna let the money
getting away to friendship. You're probably gonna get disappointed. Family
will let you down, friends will let you down. So
don't give more than you can afford, and then you
don't get yourself in this situation.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Yeah, or do it like Stacy, wait and see the progress.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Crazy looking at the funding. Look it's taken off. I
don't only get five bucks
