Longtime manager ty Sti Glorias said that she experienced a
terrifying situation at a Ditty party almost made her quit
the entire industry, she says because of the toxicity. She
wrote a New York Times piece and talked about how
she went to one of Ditty's New Year's Eve yacht
parties in Saint Bart's years ago with her brother. She
says that she was at one point directed into a

bedroom by a man, and said she felt really panicked
at the time, but has since sadly realized that this
is a really normal thing that happens in the industry,
a norm that she hopes will change with the new
developments of the Ditty case. She wrote, to this day,
I can't remember how I managed to talk my way
out of that terrifying situation. Perhaps my nervous babbling. My
brother's on this boat, He's probably looking for me, she said.

To convince this dude to unlock the bedroom door and
let her go, and he did, thankfully. She assumed at
the time that her experience was an anomaly and that
it was just one guy being badly at a drunken party,
but now knows sadly that it's very common. She told
another story that doesn't have anything to do with Diddy,
about someone else in the record industry that basically she

was at this dinner and he slipped her his hotel
key and she declined. But she's like, this thing just
happens all the time, and it's power, and it's people
believing that you have to do these things if you
want to make it in this industry, you know, And
so it's a really sick cycle. She said, after twenty
years as a music exec, I now know what happened

that night was no aberration. And she said these experiences
with predators and those that enabled them nearly led her
to give up on music and the entire business.

But our friendship with John Legend changed that. And I
love to hear that.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I mean, at a time where we're like this guy's
bad and this person's bad, and it's really nice to
hear that John Legend hopefully is as nice as he seems.

We need all the positivity we can take.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
And speaking of that, Washington, DC is looking a little
different right now as cops are prepping for potential unrest
after next week's presidential election. I don't know if you
guys have heard there's an election going on. Oh yeah,
I voted yesterday with my little absentee ballot. But workers
have been busy boarding up government buildings and retail stores

with plywood, so basically you can't see any windows in
downtown Washington, d C. By the way, a new Associated
Press survey showed that most Americans are somewhat worried about
social unrest after or during next Tuesday's election results, or
you know, after before while we're.

Figuring it all out. And I would agree, it's funny wild.
I'm scared it is. It's scary to be alive right now.

I don't know's there's a lot of heavy things going on.
So I hope whatever happens, that we were just being
scared for no reason.
