Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Fresh Show. This is what's trending, all right

(00:03):
for our Chicago folks.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Virginia McCaskey, the longtime owner and matriarch of the Chicago Bears,
died yesterday at one hundred and two years old, the
team announced in a news release. She served as the
owner of the Bear since her father and team founder,
George Tallis, died on October thirty first of nineteen eighty three.
Her son, George has been chairman of the bar since
twenty eleven, when he took over that role from his brother.
Virginia's husband, Edward McCaskey, died in two thousand and three.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
The Big Game is this weekend. I say the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
I'm talking about the Super Bowl, and I'm not being
paid to talk about it. I'm going with that. The
super Bowl is this weekend. And here's the headline. Caylen
is going to bet one point three nine billion dollars
on the super Bowl this weekend. Caylin is now our
in house gambling expert. She discovered gambling and parlays within
the last couple of weeks. Yes, and she's won hundreds
of dollars.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, we're we're We're.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Over three hundred dollars.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Let's just saice.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Yeah, which is I mean starting with twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You're basically an expert gambler. Now, Hevy, Oh are you
who do you have for the game this weekend? Eagles?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Chiefs? Who are you betting on?

Speaker 5 (01:09):
I'm not betting on a team winning because I don't
trust that the game will be one hundred percent authentic.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Also, you're of the conspiracy theory. You're in the conspiracy
theory camp.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
I think that the Chiefs need to be good in
order to win and play well. However, I don't think
the NFL wants them to lose.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
I really don't.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
So I'm not.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Betting on a specific team.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
But you know, we will be away this weekend and
you guys will see a very stress kalin As.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
I picked my parsleigh.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Okay, what are you leaning towards for the parslay for
the games that you won't bet at one of the teams.
I want the Eagles to win, which I never thought
I would ever say.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I like the Chiefs like I don't.
I don't hate on the Chiefs because they're good. I
just think the NFL like it has picked them. Well,
we got to just do I'm just gonna do it
easy because we're going to be traveling. I'm not going
to be focused. So things that we know are going
to happen. You know, so Jalen, he's gonna get a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
You can make it that basic, Yeah, you could.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
So I can be like the national anthem will be performed,
there will be a halftime.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Show, guys, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
There will be a flip. You can make it that easy.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
My parlays can be easy, and then you choose how
much you bet on the parlay so you can win.
Like it's it's like a cheat code. I don't understand
why we aren't doing this really, Yes, you can bet
on yards parlays. It can be the most basic things.
But the more that you have, the more money you
can win.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yes, to be more complicated than it can be. Inevitabilities,
I mean it can't be.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
It is I will shoot.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Each team will show up, like.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
You can bet on that and it's obviously not that,
but yards touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yes you can. That's how I'm making my money.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
This stuff is crazy. Nobody else that work. You came
in here yesterday and say, Kik pick a square. I
don't even know what that means. And he was like,
just pick anyone.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
All week by a high level executive in this company
to buy squares.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
You see, you have to buy squares. It's the easiest way.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Tom has been emailing me all week going are you
getting in on this or not? I'm like it because
you know that I don't know what I'm doing, and
so like that you're just trying to contribute money to give.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
You, Like is that what this is?

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Like? I really feel like I'm being taken advantage of here,
like I'm being bullied at so many level, like bet
bet bet fred bett.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
You ten wire on a square. I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
It was killing to me yesterday I refuse to buy a.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Square by one.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
I bought him one because he is now he's one
right now. He just walked out the door, like, okay,
you owe me twenty five dollars.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
You know, Jason ows me nothing, but if we hit,
I'm taking a cut, that's right.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
I don't believe in the squares. I won't.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I don't know. I just won't get money.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I won't do it. You don't believe it's I know,
I believe that they're real, but.

Speaker 7 (03:49):
I won't buy it every year.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Jason, who do you have? You're the sports reporter for
the show, the president of sports reporting. Who are you
taking in the game.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
The Chiefs?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
And Bella in our intern who actually wants to do
sports radio someday?

Speaker 7 (04:06):
Yes, like Cayln, I'm very hesitant, but I like you.
Also said I'm rooting for the Eagles, but I don't
say it with a smile on my face.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
You know why though, Honestly it's sake one.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
I like him.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I like him, and I love the story.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I love the story about you know, they they dumped
him in New York, and then he goes to the Eagles,
which is the worst case scenario for them, and then
he gets paid and then he is going to win
a super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
He's won me a lot of money.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
There, you go, Okay, and then Jalen Hurts, whose facial
expression never changes, I love delicious.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
That's exactly what I was like.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
You live it whatever way you want.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I'm going to bet on Jalen Hurts and Kaylan getting
it on, and if they're in the same room, I'm
saying yes, I'm saying I'm betting yes.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
He's a beautiful man, you have to say.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I agree. He is a good looking guy.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I can say, and I will say.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah, okay, Bell, thank you. We have the picks. Now.
Now you need to go back in your room.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Okay. So you don't think the Chiefs are going to lose, then.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
You don't think the Chiefs are going to lose. No,
she does think the Chiefs are going to lose.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
I hope they lose. She okay, you hope, but you
never said what you thought would happen. Oh am, I
supposed to get more in duct.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
She took the Eagles. I did take Okay, are you
did you manage a long John Silver?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I did? But she said she was hesitant.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
She said, like Kilan, I'm hesitant to say I am.

Speaker 7 (05:27):
I am hesitant, and I you know, because I think
that the Chiefs somehow could win this game.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
But I my brain says the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
It's very likely. I think it's very likely that they win.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
The Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah, yeah, Eagles are the better team though.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, so we'll say, Oh I know is that we're
going to the super Bowl watching Capital of the World
for business this weekend. Jason Can and I were going
on a field trip to the only place you'd ever
want to be to watch the super Bowl. I know
you're thinking Las Vegas. No, that's not it. Salt Lake City, Utah.
That's what we're going to be, and it's going to
be lit.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
You guys want to stop in Vegas?

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I mean we could. It's not far. We could just
go right there. We could just run down there because
Kyln has you know, she's got the shakes used to
place or bets and she can't find a bookiye in
Salt Lake City?

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Where are we going to watch it?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Though?

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I have to watch it.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Don't worry, We're going to watch this. It will be watched.
I didn't.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I didn't think when I planned this trip that you know,
for business to go down there and meet our new friends,
that I didn't plan that the super Bowl would be
that day, or that Valentine's Day would be there.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
But then again, neither one.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Well the super Bowl you can watch them anywhere in
Valentine's They doesn't really apply to me, so it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
It's fine.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, one point three nine billion dollars is going to
be legally bet on the super Bowl. That's the legal bets,
not the stuff that Kailin's doing.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Under the table.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Stop that. Don't you put that on me, Ricky, Bobby.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I hate to do this story. It's it's I feel
like it's a trend. Unfortunately. But the search is on
for an Alaska plane that went missing with ten people
on board.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
This happened.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
It's the Bearing Air caravan flight was headed to Gnome
when it was reported overdue yesterday. The Coastguard said the
plane was twelve mile offshore when contact was lost. The
Volunteer Fire Department in Nome is heading up the search
and says that due to weather in visibility, they're limited
to what they can do at the time they were

(07:11):
near what there were near white out conditions at times yesterday.
No word on the identities of those on board. Also,
an unrelated in not connected terrible news the company that
operates Quicksilver, Billabong, and Volcom Volcom is that how you's saying?
I mean, yeah, these are you know, two thousands of brands.

(07:31):
They say that their stores can no longer compete and
they're all going to be closing one hundred stores. So
for those of you who are still wearing Quicksilver, terrible
news and Billabong, Oh.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
The Laguna Beach days I thought it was like a little.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Surfer that said, though the branch is not going away.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
They said that there'll be licensed to other operators, so
you'll still be able to get your you know, quicksilver.
Did you ever go through that phase, Kiki Quicksilver anything
like that, the surfer slash skater face.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
I had the Quicksilver like little t shirks. Actually still
have one with like the little orange lines on it.
And then I had those little choker things with like
the sea shale sea shales.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Oh, yeah, like those.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
And then yeah, and then Paulina, you were a skater
for a while.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
I sure it was.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
I'm just gonna I'm gonna get ahead of it because
in ten minutes you're gonna say.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I know I was a skater once.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Yeah, yeah, that was me.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, Hey guys, I was a skater.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah. And then how old were you and what was
the phase?

Speaker 8 (08:23):
So I was like twelve thirteen and I bought a
skateboard at Walmart and that's not where real skaters go
get their boards at.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
But I wanted one and I didn't know where to go.

Speaker 8 (08:32):
I never skateboarded once because I didn't know how, but
I want I wanted once my mom bought it for.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Me, and I like the really long shorts and like
the checkered belt and the whole thing. Did you get
into the look the skater look as well.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
No, So then I mixed it up with my emo face.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
It kind of overlapped a little bit.

Speaker 8 (08:48):
Yeah, So that then I would wear like just like black
leggings are like long black sweaters, black vans, stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Yeah, I see.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
But so you're not too traumatically affected by the quicksilver closing.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
I mean I had some of that back then.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I thought I was a little surfer girl too.

Speaker 8 (09:04):
Even though I was in Chicago on the Southwest Side.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Children of the nineties would know it was it was
no fear. Was all that stuff, quicksilver, billow ball whatever,
it is, no fear?

Speaker 1 (09:16):
What else did we used to wear? U?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (09:18):
The uh.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
The shirts that technicolor shirts that changed color based on
the temperature.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Did you ever see? No?

Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yeah, I think that one.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
They were called technicolor, Yeah, and they were like, uh,
they kind of looked like the kind of looked like
tide ice sort of. But if based on the temperature,
the color of the shirt would change.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
What I don't want to know what kind of poison
was in those shirts.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Yeah, I'm sure I have cancer now as a result.
They were probably nuclear in some way. So kiky isses
for you because I worry about the amount of TikTok
that you consume. I don't worry about your health. You're
you're in You're you're the figure of health, the pillar
of health, you know. But exercise reduces tomptoms of internet addiction.
According to a new study today in What's Trending, exercise

(10:04):
was found to reduce anxiety, loneliness, stress, feelings of inadequacy, fatigue, depression,
and improving mental health. But it also I guess when
you're doing something other than looking, you know, if you're
exercising it, you may not be able to look at TikTok,
and then why then you know you're you're in a
better place for it.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Thoughts none at all? Actually okay?

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Or you could be like the TikTok shops got that
little do you have a little remote? So okay, because
then you could just prop your phone up and then
while you're exercising to reduce your loneliness, stress, feelings of inadequacy,
then you could just be tiktoking and then there's a
little remote.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I really want that really bad. I don't have it yet.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
That's shocking too.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
It's coming up in your algorithm there.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
It's for a reason or not technically, they're called hypercolor.
You're right, thank you. They weren't called technicolor. I think
that's a Broadway show. What is it called like technicolor?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Right? Yes?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Oscope from that show.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah, that was a good one.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
And one more reason why I'm not a cruise guy. Guy.
This is my worst nightmare. This is why I don't
go on a cruise.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Eighty nine people aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise traveling from
Florida the Western Caribbean were sicken with gastro intestinal symptoms
when an outbreak swept through the massive ocean lighter. Ninety
people are just having issues with you know, number two issues,
ninety people. I don't have any people on this boat.
But like remember the cruise a few years ago that
was like the sewage was going down the hallway. Yes,

(11:26):
and then for some reason, like they were all six,
so they and they isolated them. They like they made
them dock or not dock, but they anchored like off
the coast so they could see land, but they couldn't
get out of the cesspool.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Disgusting.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
The infected vacationers and personnel experience diarrhea and vomiting on
a nearly one thousand foot long ship that set sail
on Saturday. Health officials say the cause is unknown, but
they speculate some kind of viruses to blame. The cruise
liner isolated alien passengers and crew members, increased cleaning and
disinfection measures to contain the outbreak, and then collected stool
sample from those impacted for further testing. Nice vacation, disgusting thing.

(12:05):
You're you know, you're trapped on a thing you can't
get off of, and now everyone's pooping everywhere.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
My worst nightmare.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
I don't know why we still have cruises, like opinion, No.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I really want to know I still have those.

Speaker 8 (12:16):
Yeah, Like I want to be on land, Like I
can get somewhere on plane and then land and go
on the land.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
So I don't understand why we have to be on
a boat.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Well, I think people think it's cool, like you know,
you you unpack in your room or whatever, and then
you go to the different you know, destinations, ports of call,
and then you don't have to unpack or anything. You
just get off, you check it out, you get back on.
So it's kind of like a roving hotel room. And
that's that's the point. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (12:39):
But the thing is, I feel like, okay, well, first
of all, we all know what the Titanic, right, so
like something goes wrong.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I mean, it's a wrap.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Wait, well you had an Iceberg.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Well about the poop in the hallways. To be honest
with you, the Titanic. That sucks, but it's you know,
it's a fast death. This would be a slow slow Yeah. Yes,
this is slow and disgusting.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
So I'm not into it.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
I don't like cruise ships.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Okay, well we don't have to go. I'll cancel that.
We were going to cancel it. We were gonna do that,
but no. It's National Periodic Table Day, National Send a
Card to a Friend Day, National Fetichini Alfredo Day, National
Girls and Women in Sports Day, and National Wear Red
Day to raise awareness about heart disease in women. So
