Radio Blogs: Paulina Gets a Strange Text

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like we're writing in our diaries, except we say them
a lot. We call them blogs. Paulina. Yes, I've always
feared that I would do something like this, go thank you.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
So much, dear blog. So I received a very interesting
text message from my best friend. I will not name him,
but if you know, you know, and he.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Doesn't your best friend. So that would be one human
being that.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Was going to say yet literally one person, and most
people know who I'm talking about. But he did something
that I actually am very afraid to do. And I
don't know, I feel some type of way about this.
I was like, huh, And I read it to you guys,
and your jaws are on the ground too, So I
was like, Okay, I'm not the only one trip and
about this. But sometimes here at the radio station we
get opportunities and access to some really cool stuff. And

in Chicago there is the Auto Show happening. I have attended,
I have been there. I don't really care for the
auto show, but you know, it's it's cool and.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
People like the new cars there, all the cars, foreign, domestic.
To get them all there, check them all out.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, yeah, I'm not a car guy, but like I'm
familiar with some of them, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
So that's cool with the car, yeah, I get it.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
With vehicles, your vehicles. So my best friend asked me,
you know, can I get tickets if you have any?
If you have any? And I was like, of course,
I'm gonna check, right, and I did ask our owner,
kiss up, I'm owner Jason Brown.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Stop that joke because he doesn't tell in the place,
so there was some confusing recently of it. He doesn't.
He's a coworker of ours. He's the same as the
rest of us. I want.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, I want to be so clear. That was a joke.
Thank you. So I asked Jason though, I'm like, hey, nobod,
any chance did you have tickets? And he said, oh,
I'm sorry I don't. And I was like, I'll be sorry,
Like it's all good, you know, of course. So then
I told my friend. I was like, you know, didn't happen.
So he sent me a text message that I think
was meant for his uh, his lover and who he
was gonna go with. Yeah, yeah, his his boyfriend and
uh he wrote, we got to get our own car

show tickets. Paulina did not come through. And I wrote
back and I was like, I did not come through.
I have none. The limit does not exist. He's like, hell,
well damn, And I was like wrong.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
So that was intended to go to his partner or whatever,
Yeah he's seeing, but instead he sent it to you. Yes,
I've almost done this a few times, Like I'm about
to say to somebody else something about somebody, but then
because it's on the top of my mind that I
type in that the person's name I'm about to talk about. Yeah,
I'm okay, now hold on, hold on, no, no, no, no,

take a breath. Yeah. So like that's that's the thing is,
if you're going to say something about someone, you need
to like take a moment and make sure that it's
going to the intended recipient.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yes, and I've almost on that too. I think I've
written a whole message with that person's here, like almost
ready to go, almost hit sen And then, by the
grace of God, I did not hit that button. And
I responded to him but like we're being funny, and
then you know him, he's sassy. He's like, look, it's
all I said about your beam.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
But maybe but so he tried to.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Like be funny and sassy, and then I was like, well,
when there was more, and he's like, you mean the
disappointment of me and my lover and my nephew isn't enough.
And I other, Okay, we're done, We're done this game.
But yeah, I don't know. I feel like I come
through when I can. If I can't, I can't, you know,
at least own it. He owned it. He owned it,
and I own nobody nothing, right, So you could pay
the twelve dollars, right, if only you'd come through, right.

I don't come through.

Do better, probably not do better.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I am so sorry that I cannot come through with
your twelve dollars ticket.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
I had a meeting last week with someone high up
in the company, and so he was texting me about
our meeting location. But right next to that, like the
next text down on my iPhone, I was having a
flirty conversation. I'm alerty. It was of the rated R
plus variety, and so I'm like, I cannot mix these up.

(03:51):
You know, I got to make sure that, like, you know,
I got to be focused here on the task at hand,
because I can't, you know, because it was happening at
the same time, you know, he's texting me, she's texting
me So we're going back and forth, and I'm like,
I can't mix these up otherwise, you know, yeah, the
boss might hear about some things that I want to
do to not him, but someone else. And then in

my brilliant, in my brilliance, I go, well, I just
need to separate these texts and I need to text
in between. I'll just text my mom. Oh. So in
my mind, I'm like, who can I text right now
to like break these up? So there's like a line
of it and I'm like, well, wait a minute, that
I'm that's not going to work because then what if
I text God, what a mess? Uh No, But I

(04:33):
did well with the boss. I did Okay, I did Yeah,
And I was able to keep all over the text straight.
But yeah, And that was my brilliant idea, was let me,
I'll just put my mom in here and then that'll
break it up and smart don't mix it up. Yeah no, no,
not kidding. I need to burn our phone for these purposes.
