Speaker 1 (00:00):
They talk better than these are the radio blogs on
the Fred Show.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It's like writing in our diary, except we say them aloud.
We call them blogs. Kiki, yes kieky guys scammed, Kiki
said Nigerian princess.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Now take it.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Away, dear blog.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
So over the weekend, I was on the sick and
shutting list. So I was home, just sitting on the couch,
trying to get better, and I was going through some emails.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
You guys know how I.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Collect emails, and I came across an email with an
opportunity that just looked so amazing, and it said opportunity
to partner with this hair company that I love. Now,
you guys know I like, you know, wigs and hair
extensions and things like that. So I've been trying to
start my journey as a hair influencer, which is somebody

(00:52):
who does their just films videos of doing their different
hairstyles for social media and you get paid for it.
So I said, oh my god, this hair company has
finally reached out to me. Now it says, Hi, I
am a talent scout with this company and we've noticed
your unique personality and charisma and we think you'd be

(01:12):
a great fit for our brand ambassador program.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I said, I hear you. Yeah, that's me, that's me.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Yeah, I mean I get notes like that too. Sometimes
that sounds legit.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yes, And so I scrolled down and it says, hey,
here's our link.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Click the link.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
So five different products that we can send you, and
we're gonna pay you two thousand dollars a month for
a video.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Okay, that's how I know it's not real now.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
And now that's where that's where I know it's not
real now because it doesn't pay like that.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
So no, no, no, or they put us D. They
make sure they say us D have you you have
to specified USD. Then that's what I know.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
You would have paid me if they're hitting me up
for wigs and they're gonna pay me two thousand dollars
us D, you know, as opposed to yeah or whatever,
and who knows what these.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Hair units costs about two thousand dollars. So I'm like,
you're gonna give me a free unit and pay me
to do what I will do. Anyway, I'm like, oh,
this is it now. I have already started adding this
money into my budget. Of course, I'm making appointments at
the dealership, because I'm.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
All right, because you're like, I spend this much already.
Not only do I get that so I can take
that off, but also two thousand dollars a month.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Here we go, Bentley.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yes, I started looking up my new car and I'm like, okay,
because this is just gonna pay for that, and I
don't even have to worry about all weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I was so hopeful.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I took the screenshots that they told me to send,
I sent them back to them.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I got the products lined up.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
I was like, gave them your social Security number, which
is what you need to be an influencer for hair.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
So then they send me back a contract and I
look over the I look over the contract.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's all kind of misspelling.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
And then in the contract it says, you know, we
are excited to start this opportunity with you, and we
just need you to send us two hundred dollars for
the shipping of the products.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Okay, you handle the shipping, and we got the rest.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
And so then something said do a little YouTube university
about this whole email thing and how so I started
googling and smoogling this is all fake, bro. And when
I tell you, my feelings were so hurt. Like I
had already this was my retirement plan. I had already
thought about what I could do with this extra money,
and there for it to come crushing down on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I'm just not well.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
And now I understand how a lot of people feel
when they get scammed on the internet. Like my uncle
thinks he's dating Ashanti when he finds out that he's
not really in a long distance relationship with a Shanti.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
That's gonna rock his world.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
We don't have to tell him, right, but I.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Hear you I got scammed by a psychic And okay,
so you're there.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I remember this story, Vavan. But what happened? Kaylen?

Speaker 2 (03:54):
You like they were gonna just keep telling you stuff,
but you had to keep paying if you wanted the answers.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Is that what it was?

Speaker 5 (03:59):
She really had something to tell me, and she just
needed a photo of my palms, which I'm like, she
can't get any info of my palm. So I was
sending this, sending that, but then it was like every
step like she needed more. You know, She's like I
she basically told me that I was cursed by a
witch before I was born, and that she could get
rid of the curse, but she needed this, she needed that,
and I.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Was like, oh damn, see, I got.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
My favorite of the emails where it's like, dear sir
or madam, It's like which one, and then it's you
are the heir a I am a solicitor, you know,
which is like the type of European or British lawyer
or whatever, and you are the heir to you know,
a Nigerian.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Royal family.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
And like, well, first of all, that's true, you would
know if I were a sir or madam, I think.
And then it's like if you send us one thousand dollars,
that will unlock the eighty seven gazillion dollars. It's like, oh, really, right,
I get to give you money and then you send
me my money. All that makes perfect sense.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Takes money to make money, right, invest in yourself.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Right, He's right, exactly. Yes, I'm still waiting.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I'm still waiting, but I got eighty seven gazillion dollars
coming from my Nigerian family. And when I get it,
you'll know because I won't be here anymore waiting by
the phone brand new It's two minutes away after Hoji
a fred joke
