felines can't taste sweetness due to the fact that they
lack two hundred and forty seven base pairs of the
amino acids that make up the DNA in the gene.
That means that you can taste sweet stuff. So it
doesn't I guess it doesn't code for the proper protein
in that way, it doesn't permit cats to taste sweet

But did we ever ask a cat? I don't know
