Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Fread Show is on Fred's Fun Fact Fred So
Much Guys? Did you know? Did you know? First of all,
show that the capital of Vermont is pronounced Montpellier? Did

(00:21):
you know that? I think I used to say Montpellier
And that was when I knew that, which was maybe
like in third or fourth grade, when you had to
learn that that. I think I forgot because I I
have I've been to Woodstock, Vermont, where my dad is from.
I have not been to Montpellier, though. However, in many
cities you can pick up a quarter pounder or some

(00:42):
McNuggets pretty much in every other block. However, it is
not as easy for residents of Montpellier, Vermont to get
a big mac. That's because it's the only US state
capital that doesn't have a McDonald's. You're right, No, that
almost took me out. First, we don't have ra j
one wish, I'm no juvenile, vala, never heard of juvenile.

(01:05):
And then you find out there's a US capital without
a McDonald's. It's called Montpellier, and it's in Vermont, the
smallest state capitol in terms of population. It's seventy five
hundred people I guess live there. The city doesn't have
a burger king either. If you want to go, you'd
have to go to a neighboring town in order to
get said McDonald's. And then I think you've heard me

(01:26):
talk about it before. But there is only I believe
maybe one or two. But I'm only familiar with one
McDonald's location that does not have golden arches. It is
in Sidona, Arizona, and the story that I was told
it has turquoise arches. And the story that I was
told is that the city council didn't want the McDonald's
and so they said, it's gonna be an iesore. We

(01:48):
don't want it. It's not going to go with the
esthetic of our city. And I guess they have like
a they have the city council pass terms for what
the esthetic of Sedona, Arizona is. So McDonald's goes hold
my beer, Hold my big Mac. And then they went
and they just changed the colors of everything and they
put it in any way, and it's cute. I like
that when I look it up. See there you go.

(02:09):
So they have turquoise arches there because see you gotta,
you gotta be you gotta what is it work? Smarter?
Not harder, something like that Montpellier. No McDonald's there though.
