Speaker 1 (00:00):
Caitlin's Entertainment report. He's on the Fresh show. The high
profile trial of the Grandpa robbers. They're calling him them rather,
accused of targeting Kim Kardashian in a ten million dollar
jewelry hus is in Paris. Underway continued yesterday with the
accused ring leader taking the stand. Now this was complicated
because the sixty eight year old man Yes sixty eight,

(00:21):
known as old Omar, was forced to respond to questions
in court via handwritten notes. He's deaf and mute, and
read questions from a typed transcript. His responses were then
projected onto a screen in the courtroom, where he denied
that he was the ring leader of the gang. He
admits he was part of the gang that broke into
Kim's hotel room during Paris Fashion Week in October of

(00:41):
twenty sixteen, but he denies it being the head of
the group, as prosecutors are alleging. He has confessed to
tie in Kim up who was held at gunpoint, then
bound with plastic ties and duct tape and left in
her bathtub As robbers took ten million dollars worth of jewelry.
They fled the scene on foot on bicycles even dropped
one of the expensive pieces of jewelry. His DNA was

(01:03):
found on that stuff, so they know he was involved.
And at the time of the robbery, he was going
by another name because he was already wanted in a
drug trafficking case from years earlier. He and other gang
members of the Grandpa Robbers, they're literally calling them that.
Most of them are now in their sixties and seventies
and have spent a ton of times time behind bars,
with several of them described as career criminals by authorities.

(01:27):
At least one passed away. One cannot be involved in
the trial because he has dementia, and then obviously this
guy has his issues as well. So Kim, like I
told you guys the other day, is going to take
the stand on May thirteenth, which is going to be
very hard. I'm sure. From one courtroom to another. Did
he gets to spruce up his look for his upcoming trial.

(01:49):
The judge shigned off on letting him go with a
business casual look in court instead of jail jumpsuits. According
to new legal documents, he got a signed order from
the judge allowing him to receive non prison and clothing
at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to wear at
his trial next month. He's got permission and it's very specific.
It's interesting to learn about this. He can have five

(02:09):
button downs, five pairs of pants, five sweaters, five socks,
and two pairs of shoes without laces to wear to court.
He's made a few appearances in court thus far. We
have not seen photos to my knowledge, I have been
seen anything, but I have seen drawings. And obviously he's
been in his jail jumpsuit and they're saying he looks
really old, really skinny, has gray hair. But you know,

(02:33):
now he's getting to dress up for his trial. So
that's your update on those two court cases. Lady Wilson
is said to make her film debut The Country Start.
Is said to appear in the upcoming movie adaptation of
Colleen Hoover's book Reminders of Him, with the movie set
to release on February thirteenth of next year. And like
Paulina mentioned earlier, I know a lot of people love

(02:55):
Colleen Hoover's books. She is the one who wrote It
ends with us and then Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni
and Ryan Reynold started fighting and kind of took away
from you know, this poor woman's movie, like she just
wanted to turn her book into a movie. She actually
like deleted all evidence of them on her Instagram, So
maybe this will be a bigger movie hopefully, and none

(03:16):
of her actors will fight. If you miss any part
