Speaker 3 (00:42):
Preas show is Brian Coberger, a former criminology PhD student,
has been sentenced to four consecutive life sentences without parole
for the twenty twenty two murders of the University of
Idaho students Kaylee Gonzalez, Madison Mogan, Xana Krenodle, and Ethan
Chapin took a controversial plea deal that spared him the
(01:03):
death penalty. I know a lot of people are very
unhappy about that. During the emotional hearing, the victims, families
and roommates shared very heart wrenching statements.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
They were very brave, very strong.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Kaylee's sister look right at Brian as she told him,
no one's scared of you today.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
No one thinks you're important.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
And if you hadn't attacked them in the middle of
the night like a pedophile, Kaylee would have kicked your
effing ass.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah, that was a very powerful statement.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Powerful and I was hysterical because as a sister, that
is not something that anyone should ever have to do.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
It's just heartbreaking for all the families.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Spineless, Brian once again took a cop out and declined
to speak or explain his motive. By the way, I
just finished the prime documentary about this. It's called One
Night in Idaho the College Murders. It's hard to watch,
but it's good and a lot of stuff we haven't
heard yet.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
He's sick.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Before the murders, he would ask really creepy questions in
his criminology classes about the murder and their motive and
how they do it, like really made people uncomfortable. After
the murders, he joined a Facebook group about the murders
and again was asking questions about the murders as if
he hadn't committed them.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
He is sick and disgusting and will never.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Know why he did it or any of the motive
or anything.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
And the judge commented on that yesterday saying, you know,
I hope the criminologists study this guy, and psychologists and
whomever to try and figure out the signs of people
like him to be aware of, but we'll never know
the guys that coward.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
They did flag him in the Facebook group for his
questions and even beforehand with his questionnaires, but you know,
by that point it had already been done.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
And the question was asked of the prosecution, like why
didn't you make him state his motive and the paraphragm
that prosecutor's answer was that we don't believe that anything
he says is real anyway, and we weren't going to
give him one more chance to have any sort of
power over the victims' families or whatever, just toy with
them anymore.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
It was like, you know, the guys. I gotta tell
the two anyway.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah, so that'd be fair.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
The friends and family during the docu series were also
surprised that it was someone that they didn't even know,
like he was watching them, but they all thought it
was someone in their circle.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
They wanted to know why.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Evidence is the way that they found him, linking him
to this crying DNA, a knife sheath, a cell phone
data like where he was pinged, and surveillance video. However,
we will not know the motive, and I want.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
To believe that he's going to get his except they're
going to put him in a supermax and they're going
to isolate him, which is torture in itself, but they're
going to isolate him because he would get killed in
prison because there are you know, and again this is
all stuff I've read, but it's there are a few
things that people in prison don't like, and it's hurting
women and hurting children, and he basically did both. So
(03:44):
he'll wind up in a box for the rest of
his life, which you know, that's that's awful. But I
kind of wish they'd just throw him into the wolves
and say why don't you you know what you such
a big guy, sneaking in the middle of the night
and killing people who innocent, people who couldn't defend themselves.
You such a big guy, like you know what? Why
why don't you go and Jim pop and see how
that goes?
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Yep? I agree. I couldn't agree with you more. It
makes me very upset and angry. Let's move on.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are officially reissuing their nineteen
seventy three album Buckingham Nicks, their only studio project before
joining Fleetwood Mac. The remastered version, sourced from original analog
master tapes, drop September nineteenth on vinyl CD and streaming.
The opening track Crying in the Night is already out
to stream if you want to hear that. After years
of being unavailable and out of print since I think
(04:31):
the eighties, this album was pivotal in securing Fleetwood's interest
in the duo. So this is a really big moment
for fans and really quick. In TV and movie news,
James Cameron is making a new movie called Ghosts of Hiroshima,
centered around the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The
movie will be graphic emotional and based on real survivor stories,
especially to Somo. I hope I'm saying that right Yamaguchi,
(04:54):
who survived both blasts.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
He's helping him with this.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Cameron says it's going to be as raw and powerful
as Schindler's List, with no holding back and over on Netflix,
Wednesday has been renewed for a third season. This comes
just weeks ahead of Season two, Part one's arrival on
August sixth, and then season two Part two will follow
Excuse me on September third. And by the way, if

Speaker 1 (05:25):

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I guess the documentary is One Night in Idaho, I
believe the College Murders.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Well, I'm looking for it right now. One Night in Idaho,
the College Murders. Yep, Amazon Prime.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Someone's asking yea in a book called The Idaho for
someone said you can read that if you're okay
