Speaker 1 (00:33):
How are you good morning?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Thanks, Yeah, I'm goody good.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I guess that makes sense because you think maybe this
dude named Ace has ghosted you, and so we need
the backstory if you wouldn't mind, How did you meet?
Tell us about any dates that you've been on and
kind of you know what happened and why you think
you're being ghosted?

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Okay, yeah, Well at the beginning we met on good
Old Fashion him now, and he was so nice. The
conversation just floats from the beginning. We did talk a
lot before we were able to meet up. I think
it was for like a couple of weeks, and then
we went and got drinks and he was a little
shy in person, like choir than I thought he would be,

(01:11):
but he was also cuter than I thought he would be.
And yeah, it was a nice date, and I don't know,
I was just like looking forward to where things would go,
but he didn't mention like another hang and he just
like kind of didn't speak to me as much after
and then eventually nothing. So I just don't know if

(01:32):
it s fizzled out on his end or like something happened.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, because I know carm and there are people that
don't like to chat for a long time on the
apps or text or whatever before they meet because maybe
it takes away from some of the conversation flow. I
can see it both ways. But nonetheless, you kind of
got to know him, and then he went on this date.
There was probably you were more comfortable because you did
have some context, and so it would be even more
disappointing if the guy doesn't call you because he kind

(01:58):
of felt like.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
You knew him.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yeah, put like that time in I know, just a
little bit, but yeah, I mean, and you know, women
like to feel comfortable. I eat safe by getting.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Into someone first, so I.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Definitely felt both of those things around him.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah, and it could be hard to meet people on
the app, so when you meet someone you like, yeah,
we heard all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
So let's play a song. Come back.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
We'll call this guy as you'll be on the phone.
We're gonna see if we can figure out what's going on.
You're welcome to jump in at some point. And the hope,
as always is if you can set you up on
another date and pay for that. All right, let's do it, hey, Carmen, Hi,
all right, let's call this guy as you've met on Hinge,
the dating app, which a lot of people are saying
is trash now, but I guess we've moved on to
other ones.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
But I don't know what's a better one. I don't
know there.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I saw TikTok O the day of a several other,
like more niche ones, but I am not invested in
any of them. Nonetheless, you met this guy on Hinge,
you chatted for a while, you met, you thought the
date went well, Carmen, except you haven't heard from him
since the date, and you want to know why. Frankly,
all right, let's call him now. Good luck, thank him.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Hello, Hi is his Ace. This is this is him Ace.
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
My name is Fred and I'm calling from the Fred's Show,
the Morning radio show, and I have to tell you
that we are on the radio right now, and I
would need your permission to continue with the call.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
You can hang up anytime, okay.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I will confused as to why I'm on the.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Radio ship right.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
No, that's a very fair confusion to have, and it's
and I want you to feel like you're the only one.
It's extremely common to be confused why radio show would
call you. But we're calling on behalf of a woman
named Carmen who we met her on Hinge, the dating app,
and you guys recently went out.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Do you remember her?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I hope, Uh yeah, I remember her. Okay, and see
there goes the vocal tone. This tales the old at
time guys, Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. So what happened with
her because we just spoke to her a minute ago.
Seems like a nice person. Uh said that she enjoyed
chatting with you after matching, and then you went on
a date and she thought that went well and says
that she can't get ahold of you since then?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
So what's your side of the story.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
I mean, I'll be honest, she catfished me.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Okay, well, I know what cat fishing means in that
the pictures didn't match the you know, the in person appearance.
But I mean, how drastic was in your opinion? Was
the catfish?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Like? Was it a person?

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I mean, it wasn't like a like a weight gain
weight loss type of catfish. But she had braces on
the date and none of them were in her dating
app photos. And they weren't like regular braces. These were
like nineties nerd railroad track braces.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Oh, like these are huge. I mean, what is she
supposed to do?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Like update all the pictures with a big smile so
you can see that she's straightening her teeth? I guess
I mean temporary tude?

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Yeah, I mean she could disclose that or I don't know,
it's twenty twenty five, like, you know, just other options
and VISI lignes this thing? Are you hearing?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh well there's Yeah, what is she supposed to do? Asterix? Like,
is it on the dating profile? Has braces?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Yeah? Thanks? Yeah, first of all, they're not permanent. Again,
they were cheaper than in Visilne. And third, what do
you want me to do a photo shoot with them?
I just got them?

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Thanks? I can you feel like it? I mean, like
I said, it's it's twenty twenty five. There's other options,
I mean, is one option that's I.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Mean, are you an orthodonist?

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I mean, like I guess, and I think sometimes praises
are faster too, but because they're a little stronger in
some cases, at least it used to be that way
when I had a Visiligne. But why does she have
to have something that is esthetically more pleasing to you? Well,
don't won't you be happy if you liked her as
a human being and then her teeth were straight in
six months?

Speaker 4 (05:45):
I mean, yeah, I like her sort of aesthetically it
just it just makes you look like a high schooler.
And alm also not trying to like get cuts in
my mouth or when we kiss, or I don't know,
even worse, if you know some downstairs actually happens. He's
so shallow.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
I'm sorry, it's a myth.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
By the way, if this woman had yanky teeth, if
she had perpendicular teeth to one another, then you'd be
complaining about that too, So so.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Here's something else to say.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I'm sure right, So here she is trying to improve
herself because she wants to feel good about it.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
If you really like it like this, get on hittings.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Don't do this to anybody else.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Well, that's the other thing.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I don't mean to rail on you here, but like,
you did chat with her for a while apparently, and
then you met her in person, so you liked her
as a person at least. I mean, the communication was
good enough to keep it going for a while. So
is it really that much to ask that you you
liked everything except when she smiled and saw braces, and
then in a few months they're gone and then you're good.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I mean, is it? Are we that shallow?

Speaker 4 (06:45):
No, it's a shallow for me. It's it's a disclosure thing,
is trust? Like if I got a temporary eye injury
and I showed up with an eye passion, I didn't
tell her. I'm pretty sure she would be like, well,
if that's all about you know, I.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Wouldn't care at all, And I just got them this closure. Oh,
I got a new haircut, and I hope that's okay.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
That's such ful.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Sounds like she has a communicable disease. It's not gonna
go away, right, They could affect you. And by the way,
people don't just close that either. On dating apps. You
have to find out, hopefully because people talk about it.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Man, you have every right to not go out with
anybody you want, but it seems it seems like you
might be missing out simply because of something that's temporary.
What if she had a bunch of zits on her face?
Were you gonna disqualify her for that too?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (07:30):
I don't even know what I am to uh huh,
I mean, but I've had women tell me that, like, hey,
I have a breakout.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
That's cool, awesome.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Communication.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
If they're not willing to communicate something, Hey I have
a breakout, I have to give you a heads up. Sure, no,
straight to jail twenty five.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
They can pop on a pimple patch and call.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
It a day, I mean, or you can just buy
a facial cleaner and keep your face cleansed.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Okay, because as captain, I know for some people, I
want to look at you.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah, I know.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Do you mind if he did not have great skins?

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I don't know. Look, you have every right. I just
it's just very.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Shallow, and it sounds like you're only really concerned about
one thing that it might scrape you somehow. But anyway,
it doesn't sound like you were anywhere near that happening
based onto what you're acting.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
I mean, I guess to each his own. I just
my thing is, you know, it's a it's a noticeable
thing that wasn't talked about. And if I showed up this,
I'm pretty sure the same thing.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
You know.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I don't know, maybe I'm weird.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Told you you wouldn't have gone out with me?

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Like what, that's a good question. That's a good question.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Oh but I would have been able to prepare for it.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
It's just you just communicate, though.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
So I'll ask the question as I know the answer.
Would you like to go out with Carmen? Again?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Sounds like a nice person except oh, never mind, except
in those damn braces. But okay, so she doesn't want
to go out with you, So I guess it doesn't
matter what your answer is. But a thank you for
answering and for talking with us, and good luck to
both of you.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
