Everett the winners of this year's turkey Toss. Let's go
to the winner's circle. Josh Brogadare from Channel five has
the winners with him right now.

All right, the gatorade bath is over right. We got
it from other natures, but we did. We saw eleven
teams come up there, and with all respect due to
the first ten, nobody did it like Everett did it.
All right, We've got Shane right here. Shane was the
thrower and Dominic was the catcher of this turkey. Shane,
you said you practiced, you were ready for this. And
it's also the family history here. Tell us about that.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
So my older cousin back in the year two thousand,
he actually he actually won this. So our family has
two trophies now for it.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
They must be so pround.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
It was a lot of pressure, you know, I school,
there's a lot of pressure. But now for me going home,
there's a lot of pressure. So the week before, you know,
I was failing it. He got he gave me his
leather man. Actually he wanted me to wear it, but
that was that was a little over the top, so't
I didn't want to wear the leatherman jacket.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
But yeah, but you're standing here in Tony season. You've
got your cleats on, so and you guys were ready
for this.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
So so yeah, we've been practicing for about two weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
We were out here at four am in the rain, practicing,
getting a feel for everything. We were here on Saturday practic.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Wow.

Yep, we were throwing water on the turkeys because we
knew it was gonna rain.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
So they checked the forecast, the wind conditions. This is preparation, Billy,
I really think so all right, Dominic, you caught this, yes,
and there's a certain technique to catching this. You said
you watched other teams, but.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
For you, you knew.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
What you were doing. Tell us about just how to
make sure like I had a backpedal, you know, and
fall while I was falling down and then and after.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
That if I just cradled it and I would have
caught it.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
You know, I just knew it.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
And Josh, I'm over here with the coach. And how
many years have been coaching this team?

Ooh, probably twenty?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Need to be clear, you're not the football team coach.
You're just the turkey toss coach, that is correct. And
you guys are around here at four o'clock this morning.
I was told that the receiver Dominic was an alternate
because the original receiver early this morning here at assembly
row truck a frozen in the face.

It wasn't one, but during the practice he kind of
didn't want to take pot anymore, so dom stepped right in.

Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Once you get hit in the face with a frozen turkey,
I think it's time to retire from the collar. Yeah. No.
And we almost had somebody take a bird in the face.
And I was told somebody was in a turkey outfit
and did a face plant.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
They did. I helped her up, She's fine.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah. I got to tell you it was a great toss.
And congratulations again to Everett High School. Tell them what
they win this year.

say they have a rain show, rain concert, it's always
good luck. So we got a rain turkey toss. It
was awesome.

toss champion for Revere back in the day. And just
to be here as the turkey just means the world it'd.
