Hey there, All Things Recruiting listeners! I woke up this Sunday morning feeling incredibly grateful for our amazing recruiting industry. It's been a wild ride – over 30 years! – and I still absolutely love what I do. Thank you for being a part of that experience!
This episode is all about how we can sometimes be our own worst enemies in recruiting. I had this crazy experience this week that reminded me just how easy it is to fall into the trap of assuming the negative. We don't hear back from a client, and we automatically think they're not interested or that we messed up somehow. But you know what? More often than not, there's a completely different reason, like they haven't checked their email in three years! Can you believe that?
The other thing we tend to do is overthink everything. I know I'm guilty of it! But the key is to recognize when we're doing these things and take action. Replace those negative assumptions with positive ones, and when you find yourself overthinking, come up with a solution and get moving!
I'll talk about these self-sabotaging mistakes and how we can avoid them this year. We have so much control in this business, and I know we can all make 2025 our best year yet. So let's ditch the self-sabotage and make it happen!
And just one more reminder that I'm going to be speaking at Benjamin Mena's Recruiter Sales Summit today, and you're invited! The seminar is titled "5 Overlooked Ways to Quickly Gain New Clients in 2025", and it's totally FREE to attend!
