The Three Waves of the Faith and Work Movement

What does it really mean to integrate faith and business? In this episode of the Business is Good podcast, Chris Young unpacks the evolution of the faith and work movement by outlining three distinct waves: Generosity, Evangelical Sprinkling, and Holistic Kingdom Integration.

Chris reflects on how the early wave of generosity saw Christian business leaders focus on building strong, moral companies while giving generously. The second wave added an evangelistic layer: businesses as platforms to share the Gospel. While noble, Chris suggests that many leaders are sensing there’s more.

Enter the third wave: Holistic Kingdom Integration. This phase challenges leaders to go beyond evangelism and charity—to shape entire organizations that reflect the Kingdom of God. Chris explores what it looks like when businesses are designed for human flourishing, community prosperity, and economic regeneration. This is about embedding purpose into every level of an organization, not just as a mission statement, but as a way of doing business.

Whether you’re a CEO, team leader, or entrepreneur, this conversation will challenge you to ask: Does your organization model the King and His Kingdom?

🎧 Listen now and discover how your organization can move from purpose to practice, becoming a truly Good Place.
