Our guest on this episode was Rebecca Rolland. Rebecca is the author of The Art of Talking with Children: The Simple Keys to Nurturing Kindness, Creativity, and Confidence in Kids. 

She calls the construct she developed the ABCs of Rich Talk. A stands for adaptive, B stands for back-and-forth and C stands for child driven but could also stand for centric.

Rebecca is on the faculty of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Medical School. She is a lecturer, speech pathologist and consultant who is passionate about language and communication. She arms adults with practical tools to help them have productive and meaningful conversations with children of all ages—whether it’s engaging a stubborn toddler or getting the most reticent teenager to open up.
